Apart from that, this will be a long bubble period. Not too many short-stacks and some quite snug play

Quite a brutual bubble period, and I stayed down there in case I missed any of it

Stage 1

Anon from Birmingham limps and Lloyd Watts raises on the button

Very large stacked Anon calls

flop  5c Jd 5s

Anon open shoves. Huge well from Watts who passes   Jh 9h

Is shown  Ad Kd

Stage 2

With two short stacks clinging on on other tables

Jason Herbert raises with  Jd Jc

Kyriacos Potamitis calls in the small blind with  Qd Jh

flop  7c 9c Js

Potamtis leads for 17,000

Herbert 34,000

Potamtis shoves 120,000

called

turn and river  Tc 8d for a horrible runner runner

Herbert left with 1.5x bb

Stage 3

As the last hand before the break comes, Herbert is automatically all in on the big blind

On another table I join the action as Jamie Morris leads for 24,000 on  7c Qs 7h Jc Qd

Richard Horton makes it 55,000

Morris thinks and thinks and calls

is shown  Aspades Qs by Horton

we hit the break then with 37 left, 36 paid, and Herbert all in on the first hand back in the big blind

So, Mehtab Shabir raises first hand back, Herbert automatically all in

Mehtab has not looked, has  Kh 6c

Herbert  4d 2h

 Qd Td 9h Kd

any diamond then....

 8s

Jason Herbert out 37th, the remaining 36 guaranteed £450

All joking aside, have obviously watched Jason quite closely these last 24 hours. I have been impressed, good player, genuinely, and very unlucky not to cash here.

North 170,000, Francis about 100,000

Anon from Birmingham chip count pictured above, who wants to be anon because he has had a lot of nipping phone calls already he says, is a complete maniac in playing style.

Frankie playing OOP to him, so he's quite subdued by his standards

Gary North playing well

Will Martin who has doubled up twice since his Brian Martin hand, calls in the big blind

flop 4-4-2

Martin check raises a c-bet

North shoves

Martin folds, leaving himself short-stacked once again

North nonchalantly reveals Ahrt Kh for no pair no draw, two overs

Chinese Frankie open shoves  Kc Jc and Anon with all the chips, henceforth Anon 1

Calls in the blinds with  Aspades Qd

flop an intriguing  3d 9c Tc

turn  6d

river  2h

As Frankie departs he gets the rub down

"thanks for your chips"

This is a light the blue touch paper moment, as Frankie replies "bleep bleep bleep bleeeep, you are never going to win this comp" and is ushered off to the cash desk

Anon 1 limps utg, North limps and Horton and Wakeham complete check

flop  7s 9s 6h

Wakeham leads from the big blind for 60,000 into 100,000

Anon 1 calls

North calls

Horton folds

turn  3h

Wakeham checks, Anon 1 calls, North 75,000

Wakeham c-raise to 225,000

Anon 1 flats for half his stack

North passes

river  2s

Wakeham sets Anon 1 in.

Monster dwell ensures, a full 7-8 minutes

Eventually Anon 1 calls with  8s 8h

Cracking call as he beats  8d 3d to double up, regain the chip lead from earlier and sizeably dent Wakeham's stack

Anon 1 doubles through Anon 2 10-10 v 8-8 all in pre

Swift preview of heads up for later there

Sorry about all this, my hands are tied behind my back. Anon 1 was very insistent no hints be given, and DTD insisted I complied, for reasons I cannot divulge, after clues on Day 1a and 1b had to be deleted, and I certainly don't want to cause any player problems

Anon 2 travelled here today with Anon 1, wasn't Anon yesterday, but strode in today and insisted he was Anon too

So, there we are.

This could get silly and kill off future updates if everyone goes 'anon'. They obv have their reasons it just puts tighty in a difficult spot and makes updates weird. I hope They get triple range merged into their anonymous vehicle onto the m42

7 left

Average 745,000 and blinds are 15-30k

Plenty of play

Raising three hands in a row, Brian Martin took the blinds and was then 3 bet shoved on in two spots and could pass and have a playable stack

Anon 1 is the Moat guy, Anon 2 is who bobalike is referring to

No number of Anons will kill off updates, I just need to work out a way of reporting it better. Feels uncomfortable

Anon 1 1.2m

Wakeham 1.1m

North 900/-

Morton 900/-

Martin 700/-

Anon 2 600/-

We hit a break in 15 minutes after which blinds move to a monstrous 30-60k ra 6k so 120k per hand or 720k per round with 5.2m in play

that'll get things going like Exlax

Anon 2 9-9

9 on the flop and Martin is down to 52k at 20-40k

Next had Wakeham limps the button, Anon 1 limps the SB, Of course Brian is all in

called by both, of clourse

A-A-6-J

anon1 leads for 40k and heads up with the all in shows A-Q

Martin 2-9

Brian Martin out 6th winning £4,272

Break

comedy scenes as Anon 2 suggests, with £73,000 to play for, £12,000 each and £25,000 to the winner

Chip leader Anon 1 who got a lift here with Anon 2 and is frankly the least orthodox and least technically proficient player turns that down

Anonymous 2 wants to let the update know that Anonymous 1 should be known as "Anonymous Knob"

Charming

Off to the break with Anon 1 not even countenancing a deal and thus a certainty to finish fifth.

1st £30,859

2nd £17,470

3rd £10,919

4th £7,596

5th £6,171

I predict Anon 2 might use some snake oil charm on Anon 1 in the break

chip counts 980k through to 1.4m at now 30-60k

They have taken £10,000 each, just under 3rd place and are playing for the balance which is just under £23,000 I think

Anon 1 offered that as a "take it or leave it" and he was saying he'd play it out no further discussions if it was refused. Must be a nightmare to live with him, right pain to argue with, but good on him for a nice result.

Could be the first of several deals, that....

I think DTD need to get the T&C's sorted regarding this.

If these players are taking advantage of DTD's Generous Gtd Tournaments and often overlays
they should be gratefull and support the cause to promote a fabulous poker venue.

I think it's only fair play to publicise the winners. DTD is not a take take company like a major PLC.

Can you imagine WSOP/WSOPE/EPT/PSTARS putting up with this shite.

DTD will live without a few players like this.

Just impossible to follow which anon is which.

Yeah I am sorry, I am in a spot. No fault of DTD's and the players have a right to anonymity under DTD's gaming licence, I understand

One of those things

Gary North shoves the button unopened and Lewis Morton re-shoves the small blind

North  3c 5c

Morton  Ac Aspades

Aces are good

Gary North out 4th winning £10,000

Morton now well over half the chips in play 3 handed, and £23,000 still to play for

that was a 30 minute heated tourtuous and frankly at times ludicrous deal discussion.Laegely due to Anon 1

It resolved when Rob Yong was called out of the cash game and appraised of the situation

We've ended up, with £53,000 to play for adding the 310ks back in

with

3rd £12,750

2nd £15,250

1st £25,014

and they play on

Oh look its 12.40am

Title: Re: DTD June Deepstack £100,000 GTD: Final Day

So, do a deal as a 60% chips in play chip leader, and then play on with a chance of finishing 3rd

I think I would insist on stopping there and then

Lewis Morton on the button calls a 3 bet shove from Alex Wakeham in the small blind

Morton A-J

Wakeham 4-4

J on the turn

Alex Wakeham out 3rd winning £12,750

Well played

Anon1 v Lewis Morton heads Up

Morton 4-1 chip leader

Nothing against Anon1 but it would be very nice if Morton won please, for publicity reasons

Anon1 is therefore nailed on!

Title: Re: DTD June Deepstack £100,000 GTD: Final Day
Post by: TightEnd on June 06, 2011, 01:02:04 AM
So Anon 1 doubles up 9-9 v Q-10

then shoves and gets back to even chips

they do another deal

£22,500 for 1st

£17,500 for second

£264 for the valets and dealer but Anon 1 objects to that as he hasn't had a cuppa for a while

Eventually he reluctantly agrees

flop  2c 3h 9c

check, pot bet, call

turn  Kd

check,pot bet, call

river  Qd

check check

ANon  4d 4h

beats  Jh 3s

then Morton doubles up A2 v K2 on 10-10-6-6-3, shipped river with Ace high, call King high

On we go. Kill me now

The final hand

Lewis Morton raises the button Anon1 calls

Anon 1

"you are fighting like a pussy, fight like a man"

"you had me on the ropes, and now I am going to get you. Find me the card dealer"

flop  6d 3h Qs

Anon check calls 200,000

"This is what happens when you bet like a girl. I call"

turn  2d

Anon check, Morton 650,000, c raise to 1.3m

Anon1

"You've fought well son, now stick your chips in. No one expected you to get this far. Now stick them in. Well played but this is it"

All in!  Call!

Morton  Qs 7s

Anon1  6c 6h

river an incidental  Ts

So Lewis Morton finishes second winning £17,500

Winner of the Deepstack for June then is an Anonymous, winning £22,500

I asked Anonymous if he wanted to forgo that and have a winners photo

He agreed.

I asked again, telling him that if I put his picture up I wouldn't be taking it down. If he gave up anonymity then that was that

He changed his mind, and preferred to stay anonymous

He is now off to Vegas with £22,500. Well done to him

That concludes this update

I apologise, it was unsatisfactory in several respects, and the tournament itself finished in a very strange atmosphere after those very fraught and bad tempered deal discussions

We hope to update the DTD Deepstack in July and the 4 day Monte Carlo

Very kindly I have had some donations for the next Deepstack this weekend, but if you would like to see updates of these events happen, please contact me re donations. Its an expensive month

and with that, I have to head down the motorway.

Goodnight.

This is going to sound a bit weird, but feck it, I'll post it up anyway lol.

My reason for viisiting this thread is that I had a dream last night that xx won a poker tournament, and his friend xx also final tabled. I had no idea the dtd event was taking place, but when I saw Barry Carter's facebook post with a link to this article: http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2011/06/man-wins-poker-tournament-at-dusk-till-dawn-6693.htm I visited this thread to see if there were any more clues (there is-ish).

Well, I guess that's only weird if I'm right with my dream (though, from reading some of the above, I have a real feeling I am). If I'm not, then it's not weird at all obviously - well aside from having a dream about a poker game. :D

One sure fire way of getting the players to reveal themselves is for someone to come on here and claim they saw them mislay ace king on day 1, that pretty much guarantees someone will come on and create a new account to say 'whatever, I play the way I play, its very cliquey round here'

Look I ain't as diplomatic as tighty. Anon who won was the rail moat lookalike ( and I called him this as soon as I saw him which he was ok with).  I played the satellite with him on the saturday and he won a seat so great result. He has no major hendonmob cashes and he told me his previous experience was in boxing. Was a good laugh and ok IMO. Anon who got 10 bag in the deal was my mate who told me I was lucky I was in the bar so I told him I would step outside. I had slagged his anon name on here over an unpaid loan and he went outside to re negotiate a payment plan for him. I always discuss things on my own but anon had his son as back up and then the other anon who as a boxer thought may be a bit handy but the scales were firmly tipped in their favour when mickey wernick came outside to add his weight. Now I firmly believe " it ain't the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog" I managed to use all my skills of persuasion that on this occasion no one was gonna get hurt. I shock bet Fred anons hand and things were sorted.

He has mad skills with K9 off, not even suited ffs (dont think it was anyway)! Was just like playing at home on the net though.

Was a fun game even though I pretty much grinded a short stack for most of the tournament. It appears Anon 1 Mr Moat got a bit of stick but I dont think he was as bad as it maybe came across?

Anon had a betfred logo on right ?

Bet their well pleased with the publicity  ;)
I'd be shocked if Betfred actually sponsored this person not quite sure why he was wearing the shirt tbh lol

I thought it was quite ironic how he wanted to be anon but was wearing a sponsored shirt with his name in big letters on the back.

Maybe the irony is lost in my twisted sense of humour?

If Bam =Brian Martin then Ive seen you play a few times and a few hands  yesterday

Think you have a good game sir and unlucky not to go deeper
He has mad skills with K9 off, not even suited ffs (dont think it was anyway)! Was just like playing at home on the net though.

Was a fun game even though I pretty much grinded a short stack for most of the tournament. It appears Anon 1 Mr Moat got a bit of stick but I dont think he was as bad as it maybe came across?

Great updates as usual and I will be sure to send some $$ over for the next one.

I agree Mr Moat was a comedy guy he totally changed though because I played with him on day 1 and he was very quiet, so he must of overdone the steroids on day 2 but his exit rubdowns were funny as nobody was going to argue back with him (except Frankie)

PS it was sooooted  ;) and well played

Ha, that's funny. The real Raoul Moat was considered a "funny guy" by many, though I didn't think he was Raoul Moat-ly funny myself :)

edit: spelling of 'Raoul' (was 'Raul')..

Great update Tighty under difficult conditions. Turned out to be very amusing!

Just need to clear something up though. Julian "F-bomb" Thew will always be the nicest man in poker (and it's not even close). I do wish him the best with the recently acquired tourettes though.
