GUKPT Luton is one of the most established legs on the GUKPT Tour. Why? Well in part it is always the first GUKPT after the Summer break. Players return from Vegas and, helped by proximity to the big London games numbers are always strong. Indeed that has been the case for the side events so far this week

It is the fourth leg of this year's tour following Manchester (winner Peter MacAdam), London (Praz Banzi) and Walsall (Alan Mansbridge)

(http://uk.pokernews.com/w/articles/4d46/6e20eb7d2.jpg)(http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSse1ezFsJ8P5TnSk108orywTMEj-gLNT5No23K1H5eEcgKWIPyOw)(http://www.dealerschoice.com/picturegallery/pictures/2011/2011006.jpg)

Last year the event was won by Neil Channing in a famous (in a blonde context) live update featuring the exploits of Mr Adebayo Odetoyinbo

Previous winners include Richard Gryko and Dave Clark

Previous finalists include Lucky, Pelham Boy and [ ]Chompy.

Links between blonde and Luton are strong. We have many regular posters that play there, a thriving league/thread and Luton staff post on the forum

This should be a good one.

This is also a big weekend for forum sponsors Sky Poker

I'd be guessing at the total number of players they have representing them but it's going to be 10-12+

They qualified 3 via sats. Then there's bad boy Thewy, Scotty77, lolufold, dantb10 the Manchester finalist and other Team Sky Poker members

I'll follow their progress on this thread. I won't be able to miss them, after all

First player out on the first hand

Katie O'Connor bet the turn of a 9 high board with 9x and a flush draw

Albert Sapiano shoved with a flopped set of nines

O'Connor called her whole stack off with top pair and the draw

The river housed Sapiano up

Once upon a time GUKPT winners where there to be revered, looked-up to. Poker role models. Politeness personified

The rule being applied is: if you pass your cards out of turn you will receive a two hand sitout penalty.  You can't even look at your cards.  "Do it again and you will sit out an entire round", the latter for repeat offenders.

Seen three players so far with a round penalty

Quite a feat with 13,000 chips at 100-200-25 and 3-3 in his hand

He is up against A-A

He flops a 3 to demonstrate that the new Sky Poker portable RNG is in good working order

Skill game WP.

Hmm we are approaching the end of Level 4

Strangely this is a 60 minute break for food. With two flights to get through today. Odd, no?

I will see if we can get chip counts done for the 100 or so left in 1a. Don't hold your collective breaths

The rule being applied is: if you pass your cards out of turn you will receive a two hand sitout penalty.  You can't even look at your cards.  "Do it again and you will sit out an entire round", the latter for repeat offenders.

Seen three players so far with a round penalty

Ahem     .....     any action out of turn - bet/fold/fart, they all apply.

Berate pleasantly. It's an art and takes much skill from which you can derive much satisfaction

James Morris raises

Albert Sapiano and Danny Toffel call in the blinds

flop  8c 7c Jd

Sapiano checks

Toffel shoves 6,5000 into 7,500

Morris folds a made hand. I felt Toffel was getting a call, having had a peek

Sapiano folds

Toffel takes it down and reveals  8s 8h

A sad tale for Peter Wigglesworth

No nirvana did not send him an anniversary card one year after that deal they did in the DTD Deepstack

As well, he got A-K in pre versus a "tilting" Martin Frey with A-Q

Queen on the flop and Wigglesworth's wiggle room is gone. He's out

Flight 1b  right at the end of Level ONE.......

Local regular Andy Lyew had the Kings - two of them - & his oppo had the rather thin A-K. It was even thinner after the door card came the case-king, for top set.

The Board ran out as follows.....

K-2-A-5-................A.

Andy departed, tail between legs, though the fact that the Villain gave it large might not have helped much.

flop  4s 5c 6s

Checked to MacPhee who leads. Frey c-raises all in. A big over bet of 20,000 or so into a 5,000 pot

MacPhee has flopped the absolutes with  8c 7h and calls just covering Frey

Frey  Aspades 7s for the combo draw. The heat is on for Frey then

turn is immediate service  9s and Frey more than doubles through

Quite a feat with 13,000 chips at 100-200-25 and 3-3 in his hand

He flops a 3 to demonstrate that the new Sky Poker portable RNG is in good working order

AA raised early to 500, 2 callers, Frazer ships 6000 from BB, snapped by AA.

Chandusana opens in second postion for 800 playing 26,000

Passed back to Chandusana he folds  Jd Jh face up after some verbals

On the feature table Thewy takes out Alex Gorgolewski.

AIPF Alex's A5s ahead of Yoyo's KQo

Board runs out XXTJA for a standard Thew win.

John Eames button raises and Sam Razavi calls in thre big blind

flop 6-8-4

I arrive on the end to see that Razavi has extracted a full double up and a 70,000 pot having hit the flop, and then some, with 7-5

Here is he having just been pushed the chips

Tony Bedford raises to 2,100

Roberto Romanello 5,300 on the button

Matt Perrins all in in the big blind covering both

Bedford calls all in with K-K

RR passes

Perrins reveals.....J-8 off

the board runs out J-6-7-8 at which point Bedford is standing up only for the board to pair via a 7 river to give him a bigger two pair and double up, as below

Paul Bahbout limps for 800

Before Robbie Fisher O'Brien has a chance to act Frank Romanello calls

RFO'B wants to raise and makes it 2750

Romanello can call or fold, losing the call chips if he folds

He calls

Georges Tomhe calls in the big blind

flop  Jd 9h 8s

checked to RFO'B who leads for 6,600. Romanello calls and Tomhe now makes it 17,300

RFO'B big dwellage and eventually flats, Frank folds

Effective stacks here are 50-60k each behind and a pot size now of nearly 50k

turn  8d

Tomhe dwell bets 25,000

RF'OB dwell folds showing  Js

Tomhe wins the pot showing  Jc and consolidates his chip lead
