Title: Venetian Deepstack Festival Package (Oct 28th-Nov 18th)* Updated*
Post by: Nico29 on September 28, 2011, 04:50:08 PM
Here's a prev thread with all my details: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=54675.0 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=54675.0)

Basically skipped vegas this summer and am seriously hungry for some serious live poker/vegas action-this would be my wsop for this year.

This was the first wsop i've missed since first went in 2006 and this year is the first wsope main event i'm missing too.

I play online for a living but seriously need a break from the online timebank. I feel i'm at a cross roads in my poker career and would like to stay fresh and try something new.

Most of the similar buy in comps in the uk have relatively small pools and bar near where i live it's a huge hassle for expenses etc and not always worth traveling.

Obv vegas wld be somewhat this too, but to help with variance i'm planning on staying for 3 weeks+ between October 28th-Nov 18th.

Hotels can be pretty cheap out there and i have loadsa miles to use up, so it won't cost all that for me.

Here's the schedule and details:

http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFiles/The_Venetian/Content_Blocks/Gaming/Deepstack_Extravaganza/DeepStackIV11.pdf (http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFiles/The_Venetian/Content_Blocks/Gaming/Deepstack_Extravaganza/DeepStackIV11.pdf)

I believe the value will be huge in these tournaments and tbh have never seen worse on average live players- i chopped a venetian deepstack last year.

I'm big value in these comps, as long as i cut out the fancy play syndrome and abc it the fish won't know what's hit them-well unless it's a donut.

Recently my game has come on alot as i'm starting to change gears better and look at texture more in flop terms rather than the nice table cloth.

Basically i believe post flop i'm getting much better and more paitient, again bar the odd 3 barrel spazz-but we gotta have the cohona's right?

The pools should be juicy ($100k pools for fun last year) http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/festival.php?a=r&n=7887 (http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/festival.php?a=r&n=7887)and with 17 $340 events which are all re entry jobbers, i cannot see how some decent volume can hurt that dreaded variance.

As they are all 2 dayers+ and therefore overlap it's highly unlikely i'll play them all-and obv i should prob take a day off once a week-but i love poker and doubt 18 comps cld burn me out.

Another reason i'd like to play so many is due to the player of the series prizes.

Firstly i think it's pretty scandalous but 1/2% will be witheld from each tournament for this seperate pool, so it makes sense to exploit those that don't and play the world.

What i would plan on doing is having 1 potential re entry bullet in each $350 event-any non bullets obv refunded with markup. Any bonus binks from the player of series wld obv be returned also as per yr percentage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My schedule is the following: (Schedule buy in totals=$12,180)

*Added in using 28/10 non re-entry $403 return as buy in.

** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

*** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

**** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

Each non re-entry or non played $350 comp adds $403/$806 to returns balance, and $644 for $560 events.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

28/10=$340+$10 (No re entry) (Schedule total=$11,480) Returns balance=$403.

29/10 $340+10 (No re-entry)* (Schedule total=$11,480) Returns balance=$15,396.
(First place for $15,396)

1/11=$340+$10 (")-(Did not play) (Schedule total=$10,780) Returns balance=$16,202.

2/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry)  (Schedule total=$10,080) Returns balance=$16,605.

3/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$9,380) Returns Balance=$17,008

4/11=$550+$10 -(Not playing) (Schedule total=$8,820) Returns Balance=$17,652

5/11=Caesars $1100 comp ** (Schedule total=$8,820) Returns Balance=$16,387

5/11=$340+$10 (Late regged) (Schedule total=$8,120)
Returns Balance=$16,790

6/11=$340+$10 (" ") (Schedule total=$7,420) Returns Balance=$17,615

(20th place=$825 cash, re-entry taken)

7/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$6,720) Returns Balance=$18,018

8/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$6,020) Returns Balance=$20,258

(11th place=$1837)

9/11=$340+$10 (Did not play) - (Schedule total=$5,320) Returns Balance=$21,064

10/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$4,620) Returns Balance=$21,064

11/11=$550+$10 (Did not play)
(Schedule total=$4,060) Returns Balance=$21,708

12/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry)(Schedule total=$3,360) Returns Balance=$21,708

13/11=$1070+$10***(Schedule total=$3,360) Returns Balance=$20,466

14/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$2,660) Returns Balance=$20,466

15/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$1,960) Returns Balance=$20,466

16/11=$340+$10
(No re-entry) (Schedule total=$1,260) Returns Balance=$20,869

17/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry)  (Schedule total=$560) Returns Balance=$22,400
(16th=$1128)

18/11=$550+$10
(Did not play)   (Schedule total=$0) Returns Balance=$23,044

20/11 $2510  (Schedule total=$0) Returns Balance=$20,178 ****

---------------------------------------------------------
Schedule total available=$0 as of 20/11/2011

Returns balance=$20,178 as of 20/11/2011

---------------------------------------------------------

So that's 15X2(includes possible re-entry) $350 comps and 3 $560 ones.

Total package is now worth $12,180@a mark up of 1.15=$14k

It's big value imo as you get a potential bonus and i believe i'd still be value in this @1.2/1.3 easily, i'd just like to prove myself in staking threads first.

Percentages=the following:

1%=$140

5%=$700

10%=$1400

Oh and com tournie reports 2b added-tho maybe not 18 full ones!

I get ya, altho i normally just play and play and play while out there.

Wld def promise that if i felt anywhere near burnt out i'd take a tournie or 2 out of the schedule, maybe one or two of the mid week ones that won't get the weekend numbers/nor same value.

Cheers for pos comment tho mate. Gl on yr thread btw, keep meaning to play more on party, looks such value.

To be honest I'm not overly keen on these packages when it comes to staking.

I understand they iron out the variance but personally I like to embrace the variance and go for a big bink.

If there's a comp with a huge field where I can potentially 50x my investment or more likely do the lot I'd much rather go for that.

If you split any of this I may have a little punt.

Like yr gambly attitude about the big bink matt, that used to be my attitude too, i was king of the shots.

Found out the hard way though that unless i ran like yang or played like keys i'd soon be broke.

Unlikely to split any of this if i get enough interest as i think the player of the year prize pool wld make it too complicated but maybe i'm just being simple.

Also cheers for feedback mate.

I'll be in Vegas October 17th-November 7th and might play some of these - depends what the cashflow situation is closer to the time but will probably buy some

In Vegas 30 October to 13 November. Going to play a few of the 3 pm sides at DSE (PLO/PLO8, HORSE, EO). Would be interested in 2% if you decide to go ahead, can do Stars or bank trfr nearer start of events.

Afternoon Dom.

In for a penny & all that, yes please.

I'd like to have first refusal on 10%.

Like you, for now, this is more an expression of interest, but I'm definitely a buyer if you do it.

Let me know once you have secured the pass from the GF, & I'll either ship the cash by Bank TX, or pay you in cash out there. If we bump into each other in the interim (EPT this weekend, or wherever) I'll give you cash in hand.

So, please set aside 10%.

The way I see it, it is almost impossible that you will spend the whole $17,330 (every day Two probably means one less Tourney, & every "non re-entry" saves $340).

TR's? Yes please, I like to see how I do my dough......

Good luck.

I think this is an excellent package, & with the action spread over 20 or so Tourneys, we'll be unlucky not to get a draw or two.

I said the same thing to James Keys when I took a very small % of him in last year's London Festival Autumn Package, which was about £25k. (I think I had a paltry 1%). By various means, the loose change I was due back as my dividend turned in to a 2.5% interest in his Aussie Millions malarky.....

10% first refusal is yours sir, and expression of interest rather than any bookings also understood.

Nice to have some indications of numbers coming in, anything near the 50% mark potentially having interest in will give me the courage to bring this up with my better half.

Won't want cash/transfers till much nearer the time if this does go ahead, i'll just buy dollars in bulk near the off if it's a sure thing.

As always your support is greatly appreciated tikay.

Can I check on the repayment calc method pls?

i.e. if you blank the lot but then bink $25k in the last tourny, how is that paid out?

Assuming I like the answer, an indicative 2.5% pls.

Does the pos pay out 40 , 30 , 20 , 10%,  found a link to a previous DSE but not this one ?

Are you standing the bonus chips ? Shaves the mark up a bit  :D

Will likely take a % or 2 but would need to be Stars x-fer.

Ok so i fire every bullet and after 22 blanks bink $25k in the last and 23rd comp?

Bit confused tbh- obviously you would have 2.5% of $25k which would be $625 returned+2.5% of any player of series prize.

Unless you are talking about potential timescale for me to pay the $625+ back? Well dollars would be possible if you so wished within a week if you are based near london, stars transfer could be done in same timescale for such a small sum.

In terms of bank transfer i'd expect to repay you within a week-i'd be def leaving vegas immediately following the last comp and once dollars exchanged/paid into bank could transfer instantly.

I've always been paid out in cash out there so am assuming similar for $25k. If it was $100k then obv we might have to get a cheque if possible-and then i'm assuming it could be a couple of weeks.

But i could always split this for investors preference.

Just thought you are probably concerned about potentially losing out on exchange rates etc. Well in that case dollars person to person wld be best-can always hand these over to a mutual friend etc..

Otherwise i'd have to pay back whatever i received for the dollars when they are exchanged into pounds.

Hope all that helps, was a little confused if you were referring to how much you'd receive or when, but maybe it was due to exchange rates? Wednesday afternoon/early evenings aren't my fave time! :)

Oh dear forgot about those pesky bonus chips, ummm understand if ppl don't still potentially want whatever they said they were interested in now.

Will prob have to change op to reflect those bonus chips as we are talking about possibly $400=2% extra on top, maybe i shld just stand it but i dunno, meh knew i forgot something.

Really not sure about payout structure-i'll take a look.

Thanks for pointing that out mate. Will update OP later as off 2 pub 4 footy now, oh and if small percentages i'm sure stars will be fine.

Any large percentages would have to be done via bank i'd think as i am consistently having problems cashing out from stars.

Seems like a lot of people haven't actually worked out what to do should they ever be on the receiving end of a $70k bink.  Let's hope it's a nice problem to have.  I will wait on an amended calc for bonus chips etc, but assume ~ 2.5%

I'd provisonally have 2.5% - similarly to Pleno maybe 5% depending on Cash flow at the time - I do think schedules ambitious, but hey - you know the score you're a 5 year veteran and younger than an old boy like me.

In terms of feedback - I think proposal very fair ex's based on standard last few June series I have seen. Never played November so don't know - but it is conference season so I guess plenty of value around

i'm gonna be out in this time as well, and will take a piece

r.e post big bink, leave the bulk of the cash on deposit at the venetian cage and have them wire the money back to you, you get juiced a bit but you don't have to carry 100k home with you in cash and the rate is usually decent

(thinly veiled still had money left after vegas brag - holllld second trip)

30th and 31st need to be BLANK days in your sched or it's just not gonna work :P

sick table reserved and incred team lined up - anyone else out there pplease to be joining us :)

Sounds a mad one dave. I'll probs be up for this, wld need to modify schedule/percentages etc. Having realised recently that the player of the series pool aint gonna be huge, i might take the odd day off to save from burn out.

Obv if ppl aren't happy with the originally suggested 23 comps becoming like 18-20 i'll understand if they wanna remove their interest.

Still haven't brought this up with the gf yet, but the interest list is looking to be around 60% so might have to test the water. Probs best for me not to mention any potential sick nights out tho!

Entirely happy if you decide to play less, Dom. Not sure about that night out with dem kids, they are wilddddd boyz......any plans to do any other exciting, edgey, stuff - day trip to Hoover Dam, visit "the "Museum of Fine Las Vegas Architecture", that sort of thing?

Cheers tikay. I'll have to use my discretion over night's out, hangovers last a day or so nowadays which is not so nice. Hoover damn sounds an exciting trip , the other option sounded the distinct opposite of edgy! :)

In reality I rarely ever do any touristy/normal stuff while out there, might see the odd show or two but prob not much else, ill save all that for a 'non working' trip most likely.

i will have one if any is available

Mate u can show interest in whatever % u wld like. As i keep saying it's just a vague interest list at the mo.

What any1 ends up getting is dependant on where they fall on that list on the OP http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.0 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.0)

Prev stakers have some pref and then does the order in which u indicate what you'd like.

Also just indicating a potential percentage will speed up the whole process and gain further preference.

And a prev indicator that confirms they are cool with new sced will also rise up table if just for speed.

I know it sounds complicated, just trying to be fair, and man this might not even happen! :)

I'm OK with new schedule can I book 5% ?

Interest booked mate.

ok with new schedule.  Scheduling days off is in theory a good idea, in practice just listen to your body and "miss a few" when you need to such that you end up playing ~ $14k's worth.  If you wake up feeling crap, don't play.  If it was meant to be a rest day but you feel on form, play.  All imo ofc.

I'll put you down as interested in 10 mate.

I've brought my gf to vegas on a few occasions, she likes the shops and swimming pools but hates everything else especially the gambling.

Shoes quote aint a bad idea.

I brought up tonight the subject of vegas for 3/4 weeks in november, decidedly frosty response. Going for the de-thaw approach over the next few days.

Ok going to close the interest list now bar for those who have already shown interest.

There has been 62.5% solid interest shown in the package so far.

Don't want to go over what i'm potentially selling nor disappoint on purpose. Having said that would feel bad people that showed interest got peanuts if they wanted brazils-god that's a bad analogy. Anyway i will potentially go up to 65% max to keep everyone happy.

Finally if the 6 people who's names aren't in bold in the OP http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.msg1433536#msg1433536 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.msg1433536#msg1433536)could  okay (6 peeps) the new schedule-that would be great.

lol thought I had 5%, understand youre kinda overselling now but l lock me for 2.5 not 1 pls

I put you down for 2.5 already-never 1?

Unforts same as with claypole i can't lock 5 if you said between those figures as it's unfair to those who were more definite with how much they wanted.

Of crse both of u will be on the reserve list first if anyone drops out-which is pretty normal in this kind of thing i'd guess. Selling anywhere near 70% makes this def not worth it for me so i won't go over 65%.

I've now had confirmation from all the ?'s and i'm on 62.5%. I'f you and claypole want you can split the last 2.5% available for interest? You still won't have to take it when it's all finalised so it's def a freeroll.

me and Dan Morgan will take my 10% plus everything else as a team - Team LilDave(and dan) as we're known

Ok mate, i'll just leave it as you and dan with 10% for the mo and will let you know if anything more comes up-don't really wanna go over the 60% mark mass. Will put you guys just behind pleno/claypole's potential extra 5% if ok on reserve extra list?

Sounds harsh on dan as he's supposedly getting nothing-but you are a team right? :) From prev experience the whole 65% will have a percentage or two drop out so he/you can pick up the scraps if so.

Cheers mate.

Whats happening Dom ?

Well thread title still stands, it's still potential.

I reckon i'm 60/40 to go ahead with this.

Had a good long chat with gf about it all, frosty the snowman would be a good description.

Basically she's away with work till wknd (hypocrite i know!) and we are going to speak again then.

I should decide on all this by next monday.

Sorry 4 the uncertainty over this, but it was always gonna be such, thankfully all this interest has given me the confidence to push the whole thing.

Lets hope i run good and it still happens. :)

I know it sounds like i'm a little under the thumb and rubbish like that, i'm not, i'd just rather not split up over it, and going over for 3 weeks after a huge row would not be the most +ev thing in the world.

Will confirm in next cple of days but looking like 90% certain.

Then I'll ask everyone to start shipping from stars/banks etc if they still want their pieces.

Would prefer bank/cash for large percentage takers and either for small.

Only annoying thing is all this is coming up while i'm actually running well online, am enjoying my job for once!

Hopefully this heater will transfer over to the weaker live arena.

So pleased to be almost def going! :)

Ok so i'll be setting the rate of $1.565 to the pound.

Have pmd those that have agreed bank transfer as their preferred method with details.

This thread explains my thinking on exchange rates http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55435.msg1441510#msg1441510 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55435.msg1441510#msg1441510)

Payouts will be at the best rate i can get when back home, or $ on collection.

Still need to hear back from 11% worth of potential investors.

Cheers people for being so prompt with all this.

23.5% has been paid up in full, 12% will be paid in vegas and 16% has been confirmed and will be sent via bank/stars.

I still need to hear back from the following over whether or not you'd still like your indicated percentage and if so how you'd intend to pay.

STILL TO CONFIRM=8.5%

JamieR-Host-1% *

Pm'r-2%*

Craigbetts-2.5%

I'm also going to shift a further 5%=$700, making my total sell 65%.

I'll offer this up to pleno1 and claypole as they are first on the reserve list.

However i'd want bank transfer not stars for this amount-i'm guessing that could be a problem for pleno who indicated stars/moneybookers-never used them before.

If neither want it i'll offer it to lildave/dan.

And if they'd rather not it will be available to all.

Cheers people!

Well the first day shows i'm getting old/severly unfit/lazy-or all 3! Last option has always been a problem. :)

Got to vegas after a decent flight about 2pm and was checking into the ventian around 3, by 4ish i wanted to sleep.

However on every previous trip (about 7), i've always stayed up through the day to get on american time and then after a fewwwwwwwww beers i've got to bed in the wee hours b4 waking up with secs to spare for the next days comp.

This time though I decided i'd play it more easy and unpack/watch tv/grab a catnap b4 checking out the poker room and perhaps a beer or 2 b4 crashing reas early.

Yesterday this wimp did all of the above bar the casino/beer/reas early bit-more like i was going for the world record sleepathon.

I guess waking up at 7am without a hangover and feeling raring to go should be considered a good thing-certainly is for this stake- i'm just concerned about my light-weightness!

Hope today goes well and i'll def update on how my first day's poker went, day 1b here we come, should be a large prize pool in this one.

Laters peeps.

Just busted Event 1 day 1b, feel a little tilted by exit tbh.

My first table was full of jolly souls and just one decent player, who unforts had position and 5b me early when i was trying to stamp some kinda authority on the table with 108o.

Early on was tricky as stations stationed and the cards wldnt oblige, i rocked up but still had done half my stack by the end of level 2-had a few cooler pots.

Luckily the poker gods then coolered some poor guy when my kings held v his ladies aip and we were back where we'd started.

The limp calling table fish kept donating to all but me however and when the table broke at 2-400 i wasn't devestated.

Moved to my right was the decent player which at least allowed position, my 35bbs (12k) were no match for his 200 altho i was pretty sure we'd clash and i'd get it in ok.

That didn't happen as b4 i knew it this table was also broke and i was moved to fish heaven.

The only problem is now with blinds at 3-600 i only had a decent 3bet (20bbs) stack. But once i'd doubled up more or less instantly with qq v 88 i felt good, boy was this a weak table.

Flopping btm set soon after this 4 ways in an ov limped pot on the button looked juicy but although i got 2 callers on the 267 flop the king turn scared off my customers from future action.

This is when a situation occured.

I had bet/thrown in chips on the turn aggressively for half the pot like i was trying to rep a turned king-i thought these cods were likely to level themselves in2 thinking i was bluffing-strong is weak etc and they were also the types to make bad peels with one of the two straight draws.

Unforts the table started a debate on why i'd thrown my chips in so aggro, why give the dealer extra work etc..?

Even when i basically told the main whinger to desist from the convo-after both had folded (he was an absolute cod of all cods) it still persisted.

Ok so headphones on dom and adjust to these idiotic yanks please-disclaimer-i don't mean all americans are idiots just these few.

Few hands l8r folded round to me on the button with q9o and about 40x i min rsd the cod's big blind-sim stack. He peeled as he usually did.

The flop came a75 with two hearts and my black cards missed so i bet anyway. Cod check calls.

Turn was the 5h and it went check check-i guess i could bet but i doubt it ever works v him .

I didn't really think he had a flush but was worried by ace rags and random 5x 7x hands that wouldn't be folding the turn, i'd need to 3 barrell, better spots ftw.

River comes a 2d and he donks large, i obv fold and he shows 6 high with the 64o, nice peel sir.

His buddys were almost high fiving him while i just laughed inside-was nice line info for l8r i thought.

So we go a round almost and i'm down to 30x and the blinds are about to go 4-800 which will put me back on that 3b stack of 20 bigs.

Folded to me in the cut off and i min my 8's, button fishy peels and mr cod of all cods in the small throws in two 5k chips-basically an all in as i have only 18k.

I jam due to the dynamic and that it really looks AX and mr fishy button prolly has some of his outs, nope button folds 88 face up-which really annoyed me as the small blind hadn't actually called yet, even tho obv he has to with atc.

Cod has the 10's and proudly exclaims- 'yeah i knew you're gonna do that with whatever you see' and it's high 5 time again from the fish factory.

Such an lol comment and indicative of his tardy nature.

Obv i brick and i depart to the sight of patting on backs and general idiotic behaviour.

Welcome to las vegas dom, should be a fun one! :)

Btw obv due to the non re entry-the balance is already at $350+ mark up so around $403 in the kitty.

Highly tempted to play tmrw's $350 as it should be saturdayyyy juicy, i'm sure i can finish off the final on sunday in time for any halloween party in the evening.

Presume this is ok with every1 as it's highly unlikey i will have to use all 14 remaining re-entries and there's always a chance i may just take one or two other $350 comps out of the schedule to give myself a break in the middle of the grind. I think it's best to play when i'm hungry and rest when i'm tired. Just for the paperwork if i play and re-enter i'll substitute one mid november $350 out of the schedule until the balance can afford to pay for the potential $700/$806 with mark up cost. If i do play with just the one bullet i'll just take the balance down to $0 from it's current $403-obv adding on the first prize i'll take down. :) One objector to this might be lil dave who said i must keep the 30th free from the schedule for the halloween party-but like i say i'm certain the final will be done early enough on the sunday from prev experience of deepstack finals.

However if it's a big problem for me to play i'll just go and play a one dayer elsewhere tmrw- not on stake's money obv-i'm mega hungry for tournament poker right now-it's so insanely weaker than online-and i guess that's one problem with getting in 88 for 30bbs pre, but even tards can spazz and squeeze right?? And 60+bbs on that table wlda been heaven.

I really like the re entry option as ppl play way looser than usual so i won't be doing much 4b spazzing again with 108o early, shame it's only valid for 3 levels but def a +ev option.

Sorry 4 the bad start peeps, honestly i wasn't on tilt, wldnt say i played 10/10 today but a 7 or an 8 wld be a decent assesment.

Twitter updates?

And a photo of a mangled Lovejoy giraffe please  :)

No twitter updates unless i can do so on a us phone-which im hoping to get, my uk pay as you go one needs a mortgage to pay for texts and calls.

Hvnt seen kev yet but i see from fb he's crushing after day 1a, mbn.

No objections from me Dom.

As I "write off" all stakes as soon as I make the investment, I almost feel like I'm $40 ahead already!

Nice steady start, forget the high-fiving schmucks, plenty of time to atone & get some run good.

hey dom - vul

if i can pass on a bit of experience from my staking thread - unless there is a signif deviation from the stake /plan - just tell people what you are doing and do it. Its difficult with so many people

pretty sure most people are in it for binkage, so if there is nothing too far from what you have suggested itll be fine

GLGL with the games - got a good feeling about this thread

Cheers guy, agree with what yr saying just like to keep things all above board and def don't think ppl wld object to streamlining variance and playing while hungry.

Was prob more rhetorical than anything, although the halloween party issue might cause a problem!

Good report Dom, from my perspective - and I hop everyone else's, just do and play what feels right - add events, take them out - anyone who has spent any time in Vegas, which I think all your stakers have know that the best laid plans need changing.

Good luck - still an outside chance I may see you in a week or so

Haha indeed, altho he only had ten bbs when i won with 88 v j2.

Key hand was 5 mins b4 when after having him allin twice b4 on flips i 5b jammed a7 in 2 his own pair of 8's and cracked them.

Skill game obv, :)

Ok peeps balance at last update was $403, due to me adding in the 29/10 comp which i won the balance returned to zero as i did not have a re-entry.

With the cash injection from first place we are now standing at $15,396.

Have updated op to reflect this, http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.0 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.0)

Still the 17 more comps to go so lets crusssssssh.

If i play it id put it up seperately giving all stakers in this pref and they cld use dolars owed from this.

But for now it's a no as i'm happy to stick largely to the schedule bar maybe taking the odd one off to keep fresh.

Caesars apparently have a sick main event 1k in a few days, i'm v tempted 2 try that and again wld do same as above.

Ok gonna try and do this comp report so i can move onwards n upwards, net is so tilting i have to write this from the toilet.

So saturday's comp was a big disapointment in terms of numbers for me, only 197, really thought 400 wld be a possibilty but meh halloween.

Anyway sit down to see the very good kid from friday again on my table, but i have position and he is spewing a little today.

Being a re-entry we get into a small levelling war and i stack him more or less with 2pair on a board where straights and flushes hit the river and i station his bluff.

Then give back a ton to another great young kid who is a former pocket 5's nbr 4, i spazz with k7s and his ak holds leaving me on starting stack again.

Rock up mostly now bar odd levelling with afore mentioned p5 nbr 4, and am happy to rack aces a cpla times and get paid.

Then a crazy hand comes up when i rse 10s9h lp and a weak passive oriental guy in the bb peels-his wife is sat behind.

I flop gin with 7h 8h  Js and i donk and he calls. Turn is a Jd and he check calls a hefty bet, i have like 100bbs b4 the hand and he has like 50 ish.

River brings the  Ks and he checks, i bet near pot and he turns round to his wife and says 'honey i'm hungry...i'm all in'.

Hated this and hated when i hero showed even more-an old leak of mine i've largely eradicated. He now claims he had k8o but dsnt show.

Thoughts on this appreciated, i was getting like 2.2-1 on the call and it was a third of my stack. I still like the fold if only from the 'honey' comment.

Anyway i didn't really let this get to me but i certainly found myself pretty situation/card dead and was delighted to grind my way to the final 10-that plyd on sunday- with 20bbs.

Am ashamed 2admit this 2 stakers but i ended up going 4 a few beers after this to unwind and a combo of a late night and a cpla beers saw me wake up late for the final. :(

Sorry about that guys, i was very lucky, a few guys on the ft had gotten chummy with me (karma ftw) the prev day and one badgered the tournie director to call my room-that woke me up. I promise this will never happen again, i've had a lucky escape, vegas just causes random decisions sometimes, and the late night was a v silly 1, the beers i don't hugely regret as i didn't get smashed or anything, i just needed to unwind a little. I got there 20 minutes late.

After all the laughter subsided at my dishevelled appearance and tardy timekeeping the table was rocksteady for like an hour. Then they started falling like dominos, ppl werent shoving nor calling light enough so i exploited both and bowled along to the final 7 or so without 2 much trouble. Then blind on blind my q2 jam with like 12bbs sucked out on the bbs ace rag and i had a playable stack. From here on in i only saw 3 dangers, one v decent player called jeff, another young guy and my headache...

Jeff coolered the other danger and we were soon 4 handed, and i had position on my main rival.

I took out the mature gent/nit with a9 v jj-suckouts ftw boys, and when jeff busted the other english guy (also called dom!), we were heads up super deep.

I got a huge chip lead early on when i bluffed big and also caught him out trying similar. Then my oppo won a cple of flips and took a slight chip lead, i then decided to 5b jam a7 and AGAIN sucked out on his pocket eskimos. From then on in it was more or less a matter of time b4 the chips flew in and my 88 beat his j2 pretty quickly.

I've played a lot better and won zero, i've also played worse and won loads too. Apologies for the tardy day 2 time keeping, def learnt a lesson there and will not happen again-im actually off2  buy an alarm and also will be having a curfew when i have a day 2/final table the next day.

Laters peeps.

Golden dom.

Golden dom.

WD on the result.

No need to buy an alarm, you can either program the room phone or TV to give you a wakeup call.  I find Vegas is impossible to sleep anyway so always am awake early, and cancelling the alarm, but Vegas being Vegas, you go short on sleep for a couple of weeks and then Bam!  18 hours straight just when you don't need it.  Worth setting an alarm every day you are entered in a tourny imo.

No objections from me, Dom, if you wanna play the Caesars $1k on the Stake, in fact, I very much think you should.

Missing today's Comp? tikay the nit has no probs with that, it puts another $800 in the kitty. When you play it grows, when you don't play it grows. MBN.

Will see you on Monday, all being well. Can't wait to get to Vegas, but keep me away from the Boy Dave, please, he'll be a bad influence on me, & have me in clubs & bars & all sorts. He's a bad mofo.

Happy for you to try the $1K at CP. Take it this will not add $1000 to the schedule as you'll miss DSE events planned for same days?

No it won't add anything to the schedule cost i will just deduct from the returnable balance which like you said will be benefitting from non played events on those days.

Though it will still be at the 1.15 markup, so say it was $1k then $1150 comes off the balance.

Anyway more pressing news. Just made the dinner break today with like 28k-17 bbs coming back, 50 or so left at an average of 30x, and like 16k+ ftw.

Numbers have been a big dissapointment so far, about 210 turned up today.

I've grinded like a lap dancer on speed today, meagre holdings and stations who r unbluffable, i'll still win this.

Ok so for the admin, no re-entry again today-even though i did kinda try and gamble crazily in the first 3 levels a little 2 get a stack.

So balance has $403 added onto the total.

Balance=$16,605.

Meh just busted. Let the antes and blinds pass me by for one round. Table was stacked and i cldnt find a spot.

Decided if folded to my button i'd pretty much jam everything bar complete filth like 92. Sb was a tight english guy and bb's stack was perfect for me 2 jam my circa 14x.

Sb woke up with 88 and my j5std was no good.

Pretty sure i did better than i shld have with the cards i picked up today, must have jammed light so many times when shallow.

Already looking 4ward to tmrws comp, give me a pair/Ax once an hour and i will do wonders with them.

Dom, (or The Boy Dave).....

I know it will be a pure guess, but do you see these numbers declining further next week? Have to say, I had assumed much larger fields.

The numbers for Events 1 through 3 make no sense to me. Is everyone going home?

Event 1 751 runners

Event 2 197 runners

Event 3 117 runners

Event 4 (Omaha) 103 runners.

Ok so here's my plan for the next cple of days just to keep all stakers updated.

As per schedule i'll be playing the $340 event on thursday 3/11-today and hopefully will final table that on the friday.

If i do this i'll play the caesars 1k event on the saturday and day 1b. However, if i bust tmrw i'll play the caesars event on friday day 1a as this means that i can play the venetian saturday comp if i'm unlucky enough to bust that too. Thus no matter what happens i won't be playing this friday's $560 event, and therefore i've transferred that buy in to the returns balance along with markup. I shall amend the schedule to include the casears comp but i shall deduct the total buy in plus 1.15 mark up from the returns balance.

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.msg1433536#msg1433536 (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55209.msg1433536#msg1433536)

Hope all is understood, boy i've confused myself with all this!

When we refund the $560 buy in/$644 with markup to the returns balance we arrive at $17,249.

When entering the caesars comp that amount will be reduced by $1265 as the comp is $1k+$100x1.15=$1265.

Thus the returns balance is now at $15,984.

As for the numbers the first event was spread over 2 days-and numbers were v good, and since then i really feel we've suffered from a halloween hangover. However, i do feel something is missing in the air this year, almost a general feeling of ppl being broke or something like that, i dunno i can't put my finger on it. Hopefully they should pick up in the next few days, i doubt they'll get any worse, the nightly comps are getting very healthy numbers.

Realised i didn't really do a comp report for my third tournament played on the stake, bar of crse moaning about being card dead.

Tbh it wasn't that interesting a comp play wise, standard as usual was atrocious so all good.

Thought i'd talk about some of the characters i've met so far on my tables. Can't sleep right now.

At the weekend i had one middle aged fella telling me how much he rated my game b4 seeking me out on tuesday and asking 4 my email add so he can ask me about hands-lol, then i had another old timer giving me cough sweets aplenty today whilst telling me my cold would go away eventually. I wasn't even that worried about it tbh till he kept going on about pharamacys i could use or doctors i could see, a mild cold i have not the plague! He seemed to actually care though which i guesss is nice if a little ott. A rather camp man told me i had lovely sunglasses too, they got put back in the bag swiftly.

My first table today housed some characters, Seat 1 was a woman who would never fold her blind for anyone and butch n fierce would be an apt description, seat 2 was a guy who kept praising butch while playing face up poker, seat 3 had a man who literally had the biggest tell ive ever seen and then there was old toothpick in 4. This timer literally nvr said a single word whilst chewing away on his pick that looked half stuck in his beard. Seat 5 was an abso marble case if ever ive seen one, intense to the point of being scary he limped with aces and got them cracked, and when he donk called an all in with kings on an ace high board whilst munching a burger rather scarily i thought i'd entered the twighlight zone. Burger marble man was replaced by a man who commented on every hand whilst telling some of the worst jokes i have ever heard in my life, seat 6 had a decent net guy as did 7, cant remb 8 and seat 9 was mr cough sweet salesman, oh and i was 10 and obv totally normal.

Never dull. :)

The last few years in November the early $350's were all making well over 300 runners and the $550's over 200.

I'm a bit miffed about it, to be honest Ralph, I booked on the assumption that those would be the sort of field sizes. I guess it is what it is now, but if the numbers fell further, then I'd just have to switch to Omaha cash, & invade LilDave's territory.

I wldnt worry 2 much, i'm pretty sure that the caesars festival has been taking around 100+ of potential venetian entries away on a daily basis. By next week that will be finished and hopefully we will be getting the 300+ numbers.

I think the ceasers comps have been much higher numbers than expected, the $120's and 240's got tlike 400 runners for one i think....

I think Vegas has a fair few less "grinders" in it this year, prolly cos of BF, but i think it'll be still great value just for smaller money.

Meh busted today's comp just now reas early into level 7. Pretty tilting day, not my best work, although losing the world with aces aip dsnt help.

Sat down to my table to see an assortment of ppl, some young, some old, some good, some terrible-usual day.

A key hand occurred in level one when i open raised the button with q9. Bb peeled-guy had recently doubled up after a usual vegas suck out-when he 'classily' fist pumped in2 his poor oppo's face, already not a fave of mine.

Flop came ace high so i cbet and he called, two other cards were baby ones like 36, all rainbow. Turn was a queen and he checked and i bet again, he called.

River came a ten and i bet for value hoping to be called by stubbornly played middle pair/and gs hands-like 65, j10,k10 etc, i didn't put him on an ace if only for his speed of the chk/calls-bad read obv.

Anyway i'd valued myself because when i announced queen he snap called saying...and i quote...u prob have a8 don't you....he then declared ace rag without showing.

I flashed my queen while the twit slow rolled me, demanding to see my other card b4 he turned his over, i had to call him a little bitch-my bad i know- and the jobsworth dealer took great delight in reproaching me.

After this i went on a heater and climbed up to 30k without much incident, table was super weak bar one shark who had position and whom i largely was staying away from.

Last hand of the re-entry level a nasty hand drops me down to 8k-although 40bbs. Raise from half decent young pro oop, peeled by cods galore and now me in the bb with aces. I 'squeeze' and young pro peels-then one shortie jams and i peel that too to trap young pro who instantly jams his jacks, shortie has j9-well guess it is a re-entry. The 40k pot at 1-200 goes the way of mr jacks who hits runner runner flush after i'd flopped my set.

Anyway enough of bad beat whinging, i climb back to like 18k at 150-300 when mr spazz slow roller takes most of my stack-i can only apologise for this spew. I raise 77 oop to 625-my image is terrible- old guy peels and slow rolling spazz ojams like 11k. I obv gotta fold now but decide that he's obv got ak and cannot play it for toffee and i wldnt discount random spazzes either-he's done this move b4. Anyway i level myself into the jacks and am bowling on 20ish bbs. Was an atrocious dynamic call v a tard which i don't need 2 make-i apologise for this one unreservedly. 35xish with 77-meh meh meh dom.

Table move instantly gets me a dble up and i bowl along on 20-30bbs for ages, but the blinds are starting to hurt so i 3b jam a stacked young kid's coff open with q9s and 17x from the button, his ak wins with a flush while i river the straight for the rub.

Like i say not my best performance, maybe we'll save that for the 1k tmrw....

Ok peeps so here's an update. Oh and im playing today, volume ftw, wsop main ft can wait till i make it.

Played caesars briefly yesterday, was def not a great one from me, altho so many factors came into everything in a truely freaky/karmadead table.

Basically an old guy kept ov betting post flop and i had to lay top pair down early, no biggie but imp 4 later. Two guys got in big argument ov a weird ruling and that caused mucho tension. Then one of these guys gets in a big pot  v a weird looking net guy who bets 7k into 1500 pots from his 40k stack. Once netboy has dusted off 15k to prev argue man, he starts to berate a little/lot. Basically v strange dynamic going on and for once i'm not involved.

Ok so key hand 1 occurs.

Old guy 3xs from mp getting one caller from button, i make it 12x from sb playing approx 400 bbs with kk. Old guy now wants to make it 40x. Ok so button folds and i'm like huh? Not hugely used to these spots so deep tbh, i didn't want to make him fold out worse but it really did look acey. So i peel for that and other reasons, flop 642 rain and i check he bets pot. Meh i really wanna fold tbh, i can jam obv but bar maybe qq i really dont see value, but y peel pre to fold now, setmining kings ftw? I peeled thinking board was nice and we'd hopefully pc some. Turn came a 5 and he jams. ???

I folded but tbh i'd rather just fold pre or flop. Guy was really old and mega looked aces.

So down to 24k but still on 120bbs on level 2 i kinda spazz, yeah i def do.

Late pos rsr to 2.5x (500) and i peel coff JJ, obv can 3b but this deep and a lil steamed im happy to keep it small while also und repping. Now net guy in bb wants to make it 4.5k (22.5x) from sim stack to mine. I just am not comfortable peeling here so jam or fold, i prob steamily choose former tho def think he has spazzes here but he dsnt today and his cowboys hold. Sorry ppl. Bit concerned that fact it was a 1k re-entry influenced my decision v net guy and not with old guy, also not happy i didnt have extra bullet cos i prob play slightly diff, having them in re-entries is crucial not to be exploited imo.

Anyway i late regged venetian and basically bowled along without cards untill i got 2 outered for half my chips and then when squeezing with q9s saw the most retarded cold jam from a german fish ive ever witnessed. Need more flow in my game perhaps but i'm still ultra confident.

Updated balances:

(Schedule total=$8,120) Returns Balance=$16,790

Def hope to play as many as poss.

Still in the one today, annoyingly had to pop the re-entry cherry, and did get pretty massive b4 again running jj in2 aa and then having the worst spazz limp trap jam no fe move pulled on me by j10o.

Am now bowling along on 20bbs, but at least its easy, and if get some chips im gonna crush 4 sure.

Loving the reports Dom, keep them coming, & don't be so apologetic about the "failures", we are all in freeroll territory, & nobody can have any complaints, variance will do it's thing. It's been a grand sweat already, & we all have oir money back, & some, already. What's not to like?

Today's comp was a standard cooler spot where i can't have anything-but have pesky eskmo's, he can't have anything-but has bullets=all she wrote. Oh and lol@donk who was also in the hand and 'trap limped his tens beautifully...to trap the english boy', but had to relent when mr aces applied pressure, was so com seeing that ten sail down on the flop and watching mr results based cry over his correct fold.

I'll do both today's comp and yesterday's reports another time, esp yesterday's deep run, need some beers now though, feeling bit down.

Ok balances:

Looked for Dom, could not find him, or you. Am probably gonna play the 3pm PLO today, rather than the Noon NLH, though I'm mid-dither.

Ok so it's 2am here and we've just finished for day 1. 20 left, 36 got paid, we are guaranteeed the huge score of $800+ at mo, much prefer the $23k up top.

Will have 25 bbs coming back which is about average, was a hugely tough grind all day, i was totally card dead bar the odd ak, and on the last hand of the night with aa.

Somehow managed to duck and dive, 3bet jamming filth so bad jordan would blush. Managed a tiddddddy suckout aip pot with those pocket eskimos i so adore v the bullets, 8 on the turn wiiiiiiiiiiiii, 45+bb pot ship!!!

Had another key tournament hand when i kinda spazzed but didn't, ended up in a levelling war v some net punk him 5 b jamming with a3 std and my stubborn call with ermmmmmmmm ducks holding, dont really do 4b folding see.

Promised reports on prev 2 comps and wanna shlda, just tricky as can only use net in venetian as dsnt seem to work in harrahs, but i will soon i promise.

One quick story from last night when i was bored and decided 2 play some cash& proceed to crush at 1-2, half the table start bitching that im clearly a pro/shark and they dont wanna play with me, i kinda convince them i'm just an 'accountant' but it dsnt really wash. Then as the night comes to an end, 2 not exactly fit 'ladies' sit down exclaiming how they r cute as the dealer button, and after handing the dealer their players cards the dealer replies to both, gl sirs.

Felt that was time to leave for me and i bid my farwell to the harrahs cash game. Def an interesting one, but dont be a pro or an accountant, transvestites/post op types shld dive straight in however.

Laters peeps, just the one bullet today and obv cannot play tmrws scheduled comp due to this day 2, so balances look like this b4 any returns...cough cough...23k.... are added.

(Schedule total=$5,320) Returns Balance=$19,227

GREAT news, especially as you had a tikay style stack all day, & I really felt I played better with your occasional counsel during the breaks.

Sorry I forgot to say goodnight, I was woefully fatigued, with only 5 hours sleep in the previous 48, & snap disappeared after I bust. My exit hand was huge fun, it was high-fives galore, for a 56k stack at 500-1,000, but I'm playing a shade more aggro this trip.

See you a bit later.

An incred effort by Dom, he really was in bad shape most of the day, but he hung in real good.

This, to my mind, is the perfect way of staking, a whole series of Tourneys back to back, & a guy who is really giving it his best shot.

Absolutely delighted with it.

I don't think they plan that far ahead Paul (not 100%),  I'd guess the best bet is to just email them making them aware of your interest and I'm sure they'll be able to indicate exactly when they believe things will be announced.

Great reading so far Dom and obviously playing really well. All the best for the remaining and hopefully it will be 'two times' today :)

Ty tikay 4 being there 2 let me vent, i kno u wont like me 4 saying this, but sorry ppl.

Was crushing on a very weak table with only 2 dangers, the v v good net guy in seat 1, and myself. :(

Well net guy didn't win a pot off me so i guess u can guess. If i don't learn quickly from this might as well give up poker.

Ft place was assured with like 40bbs soon to be 30ish. Then i rsd 54dd in ep v the bb peelamenter, he didn't dissapoint and i cb the aa7hh brd, he check raised and i 3b-didn't believe, crse he jams and i pass, his aq obv zee nuts.

The play is fine v any1 that 'gets' it, but v this guy who plays face up it's absolutely appaulling, he check calls a flush draw and a 7 there, his only capable 'bluffs' are when he donks that board.

That left me with 15bbs going in2 the next level and altho i jammed a cple of times to maintain my stack i felt like i'd really lost some 'flow' and wld def need some cards to oblige-at least 4 now.

Cooler spot saw me lose like 90 prc of my staack when i jammed ac9c from the button, bb woke up with ajss. Call is obv standard, what wasn't-well i guess is by vegas standards-but not standardly classy-was his fistpump celebration and screams for spades and jacks as soon as the board was dealt.

Anyway that's all 4 now, i'm off 2 get drunk and stuff, i must learn from this, i've played much bigger comps and never been so angry with myself, feel like i've cost myself/us kkk's in equity and that's just tardy.

I was thinking of playing the venetian 1k in a few days, where there should be more high level thinking which suits my game, i obv cannot compete v abc thinkers.

Any objections to the 1k let me know, it will obv come off the returns balance-it isn't a re-entry.

Signing off mega tilted-chance i may well take tmrw off peeps, need to seriously desteam.

Balances:

Thursday was a truely crazy day. Started off with an awesome power breakfast/brunch with chompy, lil dave and tikay. After that i busted my first bullet within an hour when my read on flop was perfect and i let him carry on his relative c/r bluff with 2 outs which duely arrived on the turn. Had a quick argument with the dealer/rest of table about the whole thing, which was sweet obv. 2nd bullet put me on a much tougher table and i was v happy to get moved with 20k and a healthy stack at 1-200. Got this upto 60k crushing and winning flips while the arguments at ridic rulings and behaviour continued. I dwindled down to 20k after losing flips and stuff b4 battling bk to 40k at 6-1200 when i went broke with ajstd in a spot i kinda wished id thought about more. 68 left and like 36 paid im just under av when i min oop, picking up a peel from an old donk, now young guy squeezes-sim stack-such a great spot but he prob knows that i know and i jam in2 his aces. Live reads more ftw and less snap jams dom. Will obv crush that 550 tmrw and may do those other 2 trne reports one day.

Abso superb bokkage skills tikay, wonderful. :)

Today just was not to be, despite bar a one hand spazz some of the best poker i've ever played, especially on this trip.

First table was perfect for me, weak players but also one or two that might level themselves and a general passivity which meant aggression was the way to go.

Early on i picked up that the german guy liked to squeeze limpers from any position, so lets exploit that.

He makes it 575 at 75-150 when a guy limped utg from utg+2, i 3b from utg+3 with 103o to 1275. Then he peels with like 10k back and sim stack to me. Flop comes kk8 dd, we have 10 high and bugger all. German checks so we cb to like 1200 expecting a c/r often. He duely obliged and really looked weak, so we make it 5k and show when he snap passes. Now image is ruined we value hard 2 pair getting 3 streets and hitting 25k at like 1-200. Then we see a reas cheap flop-a limp and a v v small iso from mp-with q10o in the bb. We flop top 2 3 handed and check raise then 4bai the flop getting called by kk. This hits rr straight and after the 45k pot sails to our oppo we lose the rest of our bowl on a flip.

Then we re-enter and get another amazingly soft table, we double up without much hassle after a series of small pots. Then a hand transpires when we 3 barrell a wet board with j high and a missed sd, oppo stations k hi all the way rivving the king which we were trying to rep. So a lil tilty tbh we are back down to 16k at 150-300 when we spazz bad. Image torn to shreds by the j high river showdown we raise ajhh and am jammed on by a middle aged woman who's played like 1 hand. We have 625 in there and have to call like 8.5k, obv a fold but i tilty call after picking up that she was desperate for me to fold, obv this can mean aq/ak but i convince myself she has loadsa small pairs and broadways in her range and spazz hero into aq which holds.

We then turn our bowl in2 like 40bbs with say blinds at 5-1k and we are owning. But then ppl start jamming and i cannot find a spot. I raise qjstd lp and dble up a dubious 12bb jam with a7std and no fe-if only because when called he goes yr ahead-lol. I dribble down to 17bbs and exit when i jam my bb aq into a lady lp 3x-lol- rsr with qq.

1K almost cert tmrw and i wanna crush bad.

BIG day today, Dom, the $1k, don't forget, get revved up & animated. Unless you get at least 3 Time Penalties, you are not trying.

If you need to vent some steam, come see me, wake me up, & tell me. Hope we don't share Tables though. I'm super sick aggro now, so don't be trying that 10-3 stuff on me, eh?

Meh busted about half an hour ago. :(

Great, great comp. After changing hotels and numerous mishaps over my bags and new room i finally late regged the 1k about 25 minutes in, no worries as this is a 1 hour clock and 15k stack starting at 25-50. Was moved to tikay's left, so at least i had position on the maniac. :)

Managed to nit up beautifully on quite an active table and soon enough i'd more or less doubled against a huge LAG-not tikay-with bullets on a q65 brd v 67o. Tikay departed soon afterwards as he'd run ak into a socially arkward book reading netboy's kk, and he 3b jammed his bowl v an aggro opener with kq, he even got nitrolled by said active-mighta been slowrolled...with aq. Was impressed with how supposed rock Tikay played the AK, equitywise he just got it, but please hit that damn bullet next time.

Anyway the table is fairly average standard with 1 very good internet whizz who apparently is a hu monster, we stayed mainly clear from him. Unforts the deck didn't help and just to keep the stack ticking over we had to 3b light and generally open with flith from lp. When blinds hit 150-300 we were still cruising along on 100bbs when 2 bad things happened. 1 v good player was moved on my left-hugely stacked-and i lost 5k with akss bob on a k hi brd when i had to fold the turn to mucho action from an elderly canadian cowboy.

The hand was distinctly funky, he limped, i rsd he peeled, flop came k108ccs and he donked large, we peeled as i wasn't sure what raising would hugely achieve on this board-draws might force us to flip and his bluffs and dominated hands would most likely fold. The turn brought a nasty 9d and he basically bet 10k and half my stack, he just about covered. Instinct was he had min 2p and most likely the straight, he had played showdown hands weakly all day and bar bluffs we really didn't beat much, when he started mimicking me i insta mucked.

Then at 2-400 with 20k a donk was moved to my immediate right between me and canadian cowboy. Donk peeled 10prc of his stack in lp 'trapping with ak lol' and my aj 3b/s/o to4bai dbld him up. Now the blinds got nasty at 3-600 and we had 13bbs in the cut off and it had been folded round to us. Seeing a chance to increase our stack by roughly 17% i jammed blind-obv pretended to look-and the bb-lol-nit roll called after a huge tank with a10 which held v my j3o.

Not to be, a real shame as i felt 'on it' today, but bar with the bullets the deck just wldnt comply. Back to those 340s again tmrw, gonna get crushed, and i mean this.

Monday's comp really did not go well.

Had a reasonable standard table bar the multi angle shooter Doug Lee spewing everywhere. I went broke in the re-entry level when i 3b aq from the bb to a button open who peeled for 10prc eff. Flop came q56 and i donked small to induce but he peeled. Turn came a 10 and i donked reas small again and he clicked. Tbh v this oppo it's prob a fold as he's a nit, maybe another reason to peel and pc pre, but i just have that aggro gene installed right now. Anyway we got it in on irrelevant river and he had a set of 6's, nice peel pre sir, and nice donk off dom, spoke to some ppl who def think peel pre is optimal with stacks and villain.

Re-entered and had to endure the tardy rule that means late entrants wait for the big blind, totally luck based and of crse coming to the table on the small blind means a 30 min wait, tilllllllllt. Bowled along on a v  v weak standard table, but bar aks once i had to nit up as ppl were unbluffable. Eventually busted at 3-600 and with 10,200 (17bbs) i cold 4bai jj v a v v bad player who of crse had the bullets, kinda hate my play now but cld be being res based, prob is he was passive with a wide range and when he 3b's an oop open and a peel he's just not light like ever as he 'dsnt get' the spot etc. QQ, even ak seems fine but jj is prob a meh pass.

Really hurt my back in the last week, went to pharmacy/clinic and had to pay $300 for exam/prescriptions. Apparently these drugs will make me drowsy and shldnt really be taken with alcohol, might actually help the poker peeps, lets crush tmrw, it's about time.

Ok so we are officialy running bad.

Had the extra bullet again today which is tilting enough, but also lost every single flip and finally ran aq shallow into aa.

The day started off really well, waking up refreshed at 9am meant breakfast, a nice walk and a general feeling of supreme confidence.

This didn't change when i saw my starting table with an average age of at least 55, i must have been the youngest easily, something very rare for me nowadays at a poker table.

The standard was as expected atrocious as a limp peel donkathon ensued immediately. I iso'd with filth and bet small on any flop to keep my stack ticking over b4 i dusted off almost half with 1 badly timed bluff. Sitting in the bb with k7o in a limped pot i checked the 642 rain brd as did the rest of the table. Then i led the 5 turn only to be clicked by a mp op limper. Feeling he was repping a 3 when i am more likely to have it in my range i3b mr donko limper. He peels and we need to hit which we don't and he lol cks behind the brick river with a3o and the turned straight, wp sir indeed....think i just threw up a little-apologies. This was the same old guy that had called a donk by me on a 927810 ddd brd with the nut straight-obv petrified i had the flush when i just had the j. Get some moreeeeeeeeee value missterrrr.

Ok so slightly tilty from the a3 hand i am down to like 6k at 1-2 when an uber donk 2.6xs oop. This guy was unreal bad, i saw him play kj like kings and ace rag as if ak, basically he's atrocious. Holding aks i just wanted to fig the best play, do i 3b-he might peel, do i peel-puke equittttttttty, or just ojam and hope he hero's with worse. We chose the latter mainly because he was v much the type to peel any 3b and i just felt the jam wldnt get respect, he was also just playing 5k so its only a 25x eff jam. Unforts his snap with 66 won the flip when he hit rr flush on an a hi brd. Lost my 1k soon after v same villain who insta hit a 3 outer-fist pumped and made me kinda laugh at his badness.

Next bullet saw me land on a tougher table tho not much more so. What was mega tilting was the tardy ruling that one regging late-im a re-entry ffs-has to wait until the bb b4 they can play-another 30 min wait and serious boredom awaited me. First hand i play on the button i 3b an oop open with 96s and fire two bullets on a qxxq brd making him fold-obv i show. So image ruined i now proceed to lose like 1600 flips and finally run aq into aa with 13bbs.

Feel like im playing well but maybe shld be more paitient, my edge is so immense i need to just murder the small pots bar when i pick up the monsters.

It's gonna happen, 3 comps left and about time i won one, just for the crack like.

Mega tilted by today's exit, was cruising all day on just the one bullet and was at a very comfortable 35x after the dinner break. Things started to go wrong post dinner as every rse got 3bet and i when i repped an uber strong line v a donk limper who wldnt let go on a 101065 brd, i was down to 15x.

Jammed from oop pretty soon after for like 13x with aqdd. Ended up losing a flip, but how it hpnd was quite comedic. I'd jammed from something like utg+2, the button not seeing my jam announced rse and put in 3bbs, he was made to call/rse the rest and his 55 faded a j87dd 79 brd. Too many outs syndrome.

I dunno i realy dont like to moan about not getting cards but today was brutal. Tens twice and aq a cpla times was as good as it got. I survived by constant 3betting with the odd cold 4 thrown in. Boy if i had some decent holdings i'd crush these comps. Best do so tmrw then. If i can just win another the player of the series prize is def a poss.

Ok peeps another day 2 made, 20 left from 406 and min cash sorted.

Bit bowly as just the 21bbs going back but meh, i've won comps from less.

Was a kinda crazy day where i just grinded away, won one key flip v a nitroller with ak and had like 238 arguments.

First table had the official world angle shooting champion doug lee, a santa lookalike and possibly the hottest girl reg. Basically table was weak as hell but vibe was so bad it made it hard to sidestep all the egos. I had left my ipod in my room so insta cabbed it there n back missing a few hands, def a +ev move-few chips lost but sanity kept. After a while a kid 4b  jammed kj and we snapped with ak and held, so now we were pretty comfortable with 100bbs plus at 1-200. Then another kid seemingly started verbally trashing santa so i started trashing him and it got kinda heated, untill i realised santa had been pretty damn rude and i apologised to the kid and all was good. Table move helped me keep chilled too. Net boys galore meant i cld pull the odd 3b with 24o and we kept buliding. Then we moved again and i became a station with k high on the river and was good, we had the flow. Then table move again and we build some more and dble up with jj v nitrollers ak. This was a sick hand due to 1 reason.  Basically an old lag from lp opens, young asian kid 3bets from button, i 4b jam jj and old guy folds and 3bettor tanks. Now another asian kid on my left taps me on shoulder and asks if he can ask me a question not related to the hand???

Obv i ignored him and once mr nit roller calls and loses his flip after a ridic 5 min tank call with ak i start to qstn the tapper. He claims he cant remb the qstn he wanted answering and now realises his faux pas. Im like was that yr buddy with ak, and hes like yeah. Damn angle shooting tard, but man the dealer is the problem, surely he shld have told the guy to stfu when he jabbed me. Boy some of them are bad. Yesterday one told me i cldnt rse to 8500 at 2-4000 when the 500s were in play. Then she claimed the guy sat out for 8 hands due to a penalty, didn't have to post the blinds as he was sat out??? Then the oldest dealer ive ever seen abso massacred the math when id been 5b ai holding air, i mean oldie just made my hollywood fold even worse.

Ok so admin is:

Tikay bok worked a treat again. :)

Fraid i busted in 16th peeps for something over 1100, i really can't remb the exact amount so will have to check that out. Was so gutted when i busted i almost walked away without picking up the dough.

Coming bk with 20bbs i was super overjoyed to see i had a pretty weak looking 6 seated table, 1 old guy who's bad, a ss i had pos on, 2 rocky looking guys and 1 guy who id played with most of yesterday.

Unforts i only got 1 rse through picking up the blinds with 48o, b4 my second rse was 3b and 4bai, one holding ak the other aq, we had the lowly k7o and meekly passed.

Down to 18 and a new table-still on 20bbs we rse from mp v a sstckd old guy's bb with aj, timer decides to puke peel and stop n go jam the 9 hi board. V any1 under the age of 84 id prob have heroed but v him im just nit folding and puking.

Next hand i get qq and wanna find a bridge to leap off when i steal the blinds. Then it gets tough as i cannot find a spot and dribble down to 13bbs with 16 left. I jam 78s from the cut off and am called by the bb's aq, we flop a pair and up n down on the 976 board but lose to the rivered ace.

Few ppl have said i should play the 2.5k main on sunday, i dunno. Don't really want to ask ppl to stump up the buy in from the stake but kinda get the impression a lot wld like me too, especially due to still having a real chance at the player of the series pool. I dunno i think i'll dwell about it overnight and decide tmrw. Unless every1 came on here and said hell yeah take it outa the stake-wld have to be at 1.15 mark up again, then id just offer it to ppl from this stake seperately and sell percentages from their dollars due back. I dunno bit complicated and maybe i should just call it a day. Will update about this tmrw, v 50/50 at mo that ill play but like i say i wldnt just add it to this schedule as its too much wonga to assume for.

Final admin kinda...(dependant on how much more than 1100 i cashed for)

(Schedule total=$0) Returns Balance=$23,016

I'll work out what every1 is due back and then pm every1 over how they want their monies paid, at moment i fly back sunday and wld be able to start sorting things by tuesday/wednesday latest as ill def need all monday to de jet lag.

Laters peeps and soz this didnt hit the heights we'd hoped for after event 2, but hey hope u enjoyed a few sweats, i know i did. :)

When I take a piece of a player, then I am totally fine with them playing a hand however they like, I become a 'silent investor' and I'm fine with that.  But this hand in particular isn't a nit-fold + puke.  It is the easiest fold of the series, surely.

As for the main event, I am fine with w/e everyone wants to do.  I'm sure most people would be fine knowing they are at least getting their money back and happy to roll the dice in the main event.

Vegas is Vegas.  I think most people fully expect someone staying there all month to go out and get smashed a few times, sleep poorly a few times, make a bad play a few times, not feel like playing a few times.  If they don't, they should imo.

Well done for slugging it out this far, GL if you decide to play the main.

Prob should have been less vague when i said he was just short stacked. He had something like between 7-8 bbs when he peels pre. With all the blinds and antes in the pot, it meant his jam post was almost less than the pot. A little exploitable to r/f into his stack especially on such a dry low board imo. Yeah perhaps an easy fold v some1 unable to bluff here, but certainly not against a random opponent, bar the 9 i'm not totally sure he has a random rag in his range but meh spewers gonna spew.

Ok peeps i'm now thinking of plaiying the main due to a pretty brilliant show of faith from you all. We are now like 80/20 rather than 50/50 to play.

So far the following have either indicated itt or in person they'd be fine for me to play the main on the stake, listed is their percentage in the stake:

Tikay- 10%

SuuPRlim/Dan Morgan-15%

Milligan84-1%

Redsimon-5%

The Sicilian-2%

Craigbetts-2.5%

Simon Galloway-2.5%

JamieR-Host-1%

paulhouk03-1%

Sheriff Fatman-1%

Claypole-2.5%

Moskvich -2%

pleno1-2.5%

Alverton-1%

Pokerfan-1%

Sharplea has requested to cash out now at the returns balance so i will be shifting his 1% privately to those who asked for first refusal.
50% of the stake is happy for me to play. Keys has 10% and i'm almost cert he'd have no problem with me playing so that just leaves me with 4% of peeps i'd need to assume would be ok with me playing. So basically there's just 4% of people i'd have to take for granted on this that i don't know that well.
Those ppl are the following, if any have a problem plse state thus so and i'll count you out of the main and sell the % of the main on to those i know will buy.

MC-1%

Pm'r=2%

TheChipPrince-1%

I think it's worth the risk they'd be cool if i don't get a response back b4 hand.

Gonna go airport and see if i can change my flight till wednesday, if so we r gonna play. :)

Will update situation as and when i can.

Ty again for confidence in me again ppl.

Dom,

The 5 who have not responded, as they have not been Online.

I am 99% sure they would wish you to play it, & I'm happy to stand surety for them if they do not confirm in time. So assume they are all a "yes".

If they were to decline, you already have "first refusals" lined up, so it's cool either way.

Off we go then!

Caesars 1 day comp was nothing to do with this stake, i busted reas early tho think i outlasted that crazy 'q4std' maniac aka tikay.

Only played it as i'd gone over to pay adam his cash and saw tikay who raved about it.

Ended up jamming 20bbs with 66 and blinds about to jump hugely to a limp and ran into aq and another aq both aip. AA flop soon did for me, mbn 2 run like that.

Saving that for sunday's main anyway.

Ps-ouch at that pic tighty, u clda shouted 'dom' or something! :)

Ok still bit tilted to post report but def will tmrw, lots of time on my hands till wednesday when i leave so will do a detailed report soon.

Cliffs were:

Made a couple of early bluffs running into a set and tptk which set us back to 12k at 75-150. Got all this in on last hand b4 break with top 2 versus a gutshot and fd which hit the river. Personally think his jam is a little light but i guess my image causes the play. Such a shame we cldnt hold as table was mostly v passive and clda been destroyed with some balanced aggression.

Admin total:

Final returns balance=$20,178.

Means that 1% is due back $202 and so on...

If people can let me know how they'd like their monies paid that would be great. Can keep dollars for those that wish to be paid so, and can change up bucks at best rate at home b4 bank transferring for those that prefer pounds. Stars might take a little longer but i may be able to do that for small percentages. Won't be able to start the bank process till friday at the earliest as i arrive back thursday morning and will need to de-jet lag. Monday/tuesday 28/29th are prob the most likely dates by when i will be able to finalise all the transfers.

This is what people are due back:

Well, the party is over, but I'd just like to thank Dom for the magnificent value, & fun, he has given us all with this little adventure.

I said to him a goodly while back that I'd always invest, he has a great game, & his Tourney Reports are so funny, & he did not disappoint. I wonder how many of them did NOT use the word "tilt"......well worth perusing them again if you have a quiet 10 minutes.

A perfect investment, to me, anyway. We got a whole bunch of Tourneys, to help a bit with variance, & he gave us a TR every time. Not a bad start, either, starting with that splendid win, straight off the 'plane, & we all made a few bob.

Great transparency & Admin, too - I think this is very important in a "long run" thing like this, we were given daily running totals, so we all knew where we stood. He stood firm, & fair, on the Rules, too, when being asked for extra %'s after the thing had begun.

Loved some of the lingo, too, used to describe the eclectic range of opponents - "net boys", "over 85" etc. A bit less of the ageism though.......;)

On a personal note, big thanks to Dom for inspiring me to play better, & looking after me at the Tables out there. He failed, but his presence did help, & he was always ready with a wise word or two. Usually "shove". I'd have won that $1k Event if he had not been sat next to me, too......

I hope you do it again, Dom, either in another Venetian Deepie, some other "series", or even a little run @ the WSOP. Count me in.

PS - When Dom plays poker, it's a right good spectator sport, he don't half get revved up, but when in the wrong, he's always quick to apologise, like a proper bloke.

Cheers tikay, appreciate that. :) You had to listen to me vent and de-tilt far too often!

Def ned to chill out more at the tables, it's without doubt a leak in my personality that needs to be modified at the table, i'm far too easily wound up about trivial things.

Re-reading the tournie reports have helped me clarify this and i'm looking forward to if/when i next do something like this and basically seeing if i can change.

Sorry about the ageism in the reports too, non-young,non-old and neither young/old may have to be used in future.

Still pretty devved by yesterday and though i'd like to write it all up i'm gonna wait till i'm totally emotionless about it all.

Thanks so far to all peeps for saying yr preferred payment options, those that want paying via stars will have to take the same comish hit as those getting bank transfers, just wanted to clarify, so if yr dithering and wanna save on this then dollars might be yr best option.

I think as with you not nitting/spewing equity with ak due to sitting next to me, i think sharing a table with you kept me in line argument wise too! lol

For those wondering.......

We shared a Table with a most peculiar chap.

Headphones on, & he was reading his book throughout - abso fine. But he never took his nose out of it, even when playing a hand. He sets a fella all-in, "on their backs" says Mr Dealer, & still Book Boy does not look up, never even looked to see what the other guy had, or the board, just kept reading, when the hand was over, he just reached out with his other hand & pulled in his chips. Still reading his book......

So, he & I tangle. Badly, as it happens, my A-K into his Kings.

Somewhere between the 4 bet & the 5 bet, I need to assess his stack size relative to mine. I am in Seat 4, Dom in 5, Book Boy in 7, or thereabouts, so I am "looking down the line" at his stack, & I don't know if he has one stack, or two, from my angle.

"Do you have any blues?" ("Blues" were the 5k denoms).

Silence.

"Do you have any blues, mate?"

More silence, headphones on, nose in book, did he hear me?

"DO YOU HAVE ANY BLUES?"

Still no response, nothing, but the dealer gives me the answer.

We run the hand, I double him up, & a few deadeyes are exchanged.

"I just needed to know how many chips you had mate".

"I don't have to answer".

"Lovely, have a nice day".

Had a nice justice hand the other day in 10.20. I opened Kings and someone 3bet I asked how much he had cos lots of bills and he ignored me, i asked again he ignored, I said, come on please just give me a rough number so I know and wont ask again"

"You can see my stack, just play your own hand and not worry about my stack"

SO i just snap threw all my chips in (clearly covering him) he tanks for 5mins and call off with TT. He did not win.

wiiiiiii

Ok so i went to a currency place in london b4 vegas as i knew it to be competitive and after checking on the internet it seemed such for changing up the $ commission free.

Changed up the $@ 1.5674.

So@above rate $9407=£6001.

This is what people are now due by either bank transfer or through stars, or in one case-dollars:

Total still to pay=$3585.40/£2287.48

---------------------------------------------------

Tikay- 10%-$2018=£1287.48 (bank)

Skolsuper-10%-$2018=£1287.48 (£287.48 PAID) $1567.40=£1K (bank)

Redsimon-5%-$1009=£643.74 (bank)
PAID

Simon Galloway-2.5%-$504.50=£321.87 (bank)
PAID

Claypole-2.5%-$504.50=£321.87 (bank) PAID

Craigbetts-2.5%-$504.50=£321.87 (bank)
PAID

Pleno1-2.5%-$504.50=£321.87 (stars)
PAID

Moskvich -2%-$403.60=£257.50 (bank) PAID

Pm'r=2%-$403.6=£257.50 (bank) PAID

The Sicilian-2% $403.6-$280 Non paid=$123.60=£78.86 (stars)
PAID

paulhouk03-1%-$201.80=£128.75 (bank) PAID

Sheriff Fatman-1%-$201.80=£128.75 (stars) PAID

TheChipPrince-1%- $201.80=£128.75 (bank) PAID

Milligan84-1%-$201.80=£128.75 (stars) PAID

Alverton-1%-$201.80=£128.75/$199.74
(stars) PAID

Pokerfan-1%-$201.80=£128.75 (stars) PAID

MC-1%-$201.80=$201.80=£128.75 (bank) PAID

JamieR-Host-1%-$201.80=PAID

I've been grinding online all night so dependent on when i get up is when i will get to the bank.

But i'll make sure i get the cash into my bank account before the banks close on monday.

I'll start transferring monday evening and you should hopefully all receive your monies by tuesday.

Those receiving on stars will get paid on monday limits permitting.

Ok...sleep. :)

Ps- I forgot that main event report again.

Well the suspense makes it sound more interesting than it was.

Basically realised my table had a few familiar faces on, some of them could be bluffed and would lay down top pair for example if my line was strong enough.

Decided to test the water early on when i rsd in mp with a10ss and the sb-a v gd young net player peeled super deep. We had a bit of meta going on and i felt he would try and bluff/level me and that he prob thought sim of me.

Anyway i cb the  5d 6s 9d board and when he check raised i wasn't shocked so decided to 3b and he uber tank called. I ruled out a bare tp- instead thinking of combo draws/-though felt he might 4b these-so felt his range was weighted to an overpair, two pair, sometimes a set and obv the straight with zero bluffs, didn't think of many turns we could rep bar perhaps a diamond.

Was pretty much done with the hand until the 2s reeled off and we took the free card mr net boy gave us, the river brought a brick and check check with him showing bottom set, gg a few k there, silly fps i guess, but i wasn't trying to bluff off a set on the flop and can't we just hit the river 1 time?? I just thought he'd check raise that board to a cbet a ton and it was worth getting a certain image-insane or not.

Then i clicked an ep raise from the button with aq-table was playing bit like 6max and tbh every1 was playing a bit passive bar me-obv trap the fish time and the OR called. Then the flop came k high with 2 rags and i cbet and he called. I was putting him on some kind of middling pair and felt a 2nd bullet might king convince, the turn was a bricky rag and the check call felt like i'd gone far enough. When the river reeled off a broadway card- a jack or something i gave up only to be shown ak. My oppo told me after i'd busted he 'd been gen worried of aces/sets and was going to relent on the river, 3rd bullet ftw dom come on!!

I won a few pots here and there and lost a few small ones too. I was in more pots than a garden centre loving, weed smoking, snooker addict- i know it's bad but it is 6am. :)

Anyway my exit hand came soon after when still deep with 80bbs i peeled a multi way pot in the bb with 78, flopping top 2 on a 578 dd board where i crsd and got a jam stuck in my eye by j10dd which hit the river sweetly-or non so in our case. I dunno i guess i could have played more tight in the early stages and crusied along to the break, but i like to adapt to a table, and if it's loose i'll normally tikay up, tight and i'll lunatic it up with the best of em.

Anyway best get that sleep i promised myself.
