Title: WSOP Europe shootout and Main Event
Post by: easypickings on October 05, 2011, 07:50:42 PM
A mixed game player's stab at unlimited holdem....

I am selling for the WSOPE 3,200 Euro shootout next Tuesday, 11th October at 1.2.

I think this is 99% concidence to be honest, but my record in shootouts is pretty good; I have played only two, the $5k shootout at the WSOP, where I came 2nd on my first table this year, and finished 3rd in the 2010 Event.

I am also looking to sell for Day 1B of the 10,400 Euro Main Event at 1.2, but it's a slightly strange one. I am going to play GUKPT Coventry on the Friday, and so will only be able to play the WSOPE if I bust day 1. I would estimate this at about a 60% chance. I would be more than happy for people to either send money now, and I can snap send back if I make day two in Coventry, or for people to provisionally reserve a piece, and then send the money if I am indeed playing.

My feeling about both these WSOPE events is that they will be good value, as they will be a mix of tough players, but also of a lot of players from the South of France and Italy, who do always turn out in big numbers at Cannes.

Selling for both events seperately, up to 50%.

So, 1% of the shootout is 38.20 Euros, and 1% of the Main event is 124.80 Euros.

Hi Stu,

I'd like 2.5% of the Shootout, & 2.5% of the WSOPE Main, please. These are firm requests, not indications of interest.

I believe that comes to €407.50

Payment? Whatever best suits you. I'll be at Cov GUKPT next Friday, we can sort it then if you wish, in cash, or any other mutually convenient manner.

Thank you!

Hey guys,

Unfortunately, there will be no cash prize from the WSOPE shootout tournament.

I felt that things went pretty well, but ultimately made little mark, and exited in 4th out of 9 players at the table. The deck was never with me, and let me down on the two crucial occasions:

1) At the 50-100 level, O'Dwyer raised UTG, I had AsKs and called UTG +1, and the other caller was a young French guy on the button. He was the only player that didn't make up a horribly tough table (moorman, Timex, O'Dwyer, Persson, and a couple of EPT regs whose names I didn't know, it defintiely wasn't a kind table draw), and he had just lost half of his stack, and seemed very ready from his demeanour to get the other half in.

The flop came Ac 4d 2d, O'Dwyer checked, I bet 500 in 850, and the young French guy slammed his 3350 into the pot. To be honest, I slam called, and expect most of all to see something like Ad5d, and alot of the time something much more favorable like AhJh or Ah5h, even 5h4h. I'm pretty convinced most of those hands would indeed have gone in, but this time he had a set of deuces, for what felt like a pretty cruel cooler.

2) With 4 players left, at 75/150 (25), I was loitering with 4.1k. I shipped from UTG with Ksqc, O'Dwyer quickly called the small blind, and I was quite surpirsed to see 44. Although it is racing against so much of my range, it is obviously more likely to be behind than ahead, enough to not justify the thin pot odds. However, I couldn't get there on a A32T7 board.

Sorry for the bad news, thanks again guys.

News for the Main Event to follow, depending on Coventry result!

Main Event (i.e GUKPT Coventry update!)

Good news in Coventry is bad potential news for Cannes! I lagged it up, got lucky, and took through 64000 to day two.

No one has paid for it, although I will owe an extra refund from the EPT mixed game cash to Flushy and Rupert, as they had effectively resreved payment for it.

If I do bust tomorrow, there is still a small chance that I will try to get there on Sunday morning. However, this would be under different circumstances, as the best case secnario looks like a 6.30am flight. If I did go, I would knock the price down to 1.05 to allow for this non-ideal preparation (!), but obviosuily would be more than happy for people to cancel. However, this is looking unlikely at the moment, as a) hopefuly things will go well in Coventry, and B) my car broke down on the way home, adding to complications!

Will keep people updated tomorrow.

Hey guys,

Sorry that I never made it across to Cannes!

Nobody sent any money, but Rupert and Flushy provisonally saved it from their EPT Mixed Game pieces, so sending that acorss now. Sending PMs to those two now.
