Just an interest thread for now to see if anyone fancies joining me and growing some funky facial hair in November in aid of Prostate and Testicular Cancer Charities?

Clean shaven on the first m8 and then wear the whole of November, we can even have a shave off party at DTD on Dec deepstack

He will be sending weekly pictures of his progress and taking advice/suggestions on styling techniques. Poirot, Hulk Hogan and Colonel Sanders are leading the way at the moment.

we allowed the bit under the lip? i thought it was clean shaven apart from top lip??

Clean shaven today then you can grow as long as it does not attach under the chin as this is then considered a goatee. You can have the pornstar bit under the bottom lip though!!

I was clean shaven yesterday and not shaved today, probs will be able to see something by thursday/Friday. Will post  on here then. gl us.

If you would like to join our team go to join team and search for Essex Countryside (my workplace) if you want to go it alone then register yourself and you can create your own Mo Space and link to FB/Twitter etc to spam everyone with photo's of the growth and then post itt updates as and when you can.

There are little offers like free burgers at a particular chain for a week if you are wearing a tache and have raised £50 iirc and other stuff but mostly to tell people why you are growing a MO when they ask what that ridiculous thing on your top lip is.

Day 13 and it's starting to itch a bit but I have now overcome the feeling of people looking at me in a "why is that bloke growing a tache" kinda way!

Also the power of the tache and the whole Movember thing works as yesterday whilst in 2 shops I normally frequent a couple of ladies behind the counter (it was not a bookies either) said they didnt recognise me and asked why I was growing a tache so I explained all about Movember and why it is done and the Mens Health aspect to it and was pretty surprised they had not heard of it especially as there are more TV ads this year than I have seen before.

It was a fecking freezing 1c when we arrived and only got warmer thanks to all the running.  Jack was booked to run the 10k race and I ran the 5k. 

There was a hill from hell at the start and everyone looked at it with dread.  Surely we weren't meant to tackle that?!  Turns out we were...right at the start.  Nothing like running up a big ol' hill to get you going on a long run.  Geeeez.  As it turns out, that wasn't the only hill.  Marv.  But we got there in the end.  Little Bo Peep helped spur me on during the last 1k of my run and Jack CRUSHED his 10k PB time.  All in all a good day out.

This came to me in an email today which brought home how close to home Mens Health is to many of us...

We need to take action, as the current state of men's health is unacceptable:
 
•      Around the world, men die on average 6 years earlier than women - there's no biological reason
•      Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer in the UK
•      Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 25-49 years
•      Tragically, 12 British men died from suicide today. Tomorrow, 12 more will die too. On average, 12 men die everyday from suicide in the UK
 
The Movember Foundation is working around the clock and around the world to improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. They can't do this without our support, so please support my efforts to make a difference.
 
There's a lot riding on my efforts this Movember and I'd really appreciate your support.

Together, we can have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.
