pretty damn gutted the dtd leg is on grand national weekend which is basically the only weekend I MUST work.

not even i can gain enough brownie points to wrangle that day off i fear.

The ran 3x £5r turbo sats, they were fun to play. £44 seat only sats, they ran some freezeout sats for packages, think it was £109 for like £1.5k package, not sure on tht last one though

I think they will lose a lot of players by making it 770 buy in. also 70 quid rake is insane.

I agree played I'n Manchester last night and all said no were not bothering as with expenses and time off work will become 1200 minimum float . Shame as was good tour at a working mans buy I'n . So will all most be defo playing genting tour

they were FORCED to increase the buyins, its old school supply and demand, the prizepools will not be dented by this in the slightest the main problem is only two or three venues in the country can support the volume at it's current growth rate

Now it's a 770 comp with loss of wages becomes 1500 so it's about another 300 plus extra 2 play . I personally don't play on Internet it bores me so I save or use my winnings from local comps 2 buy I'n to decent events .

Was on nick wetherhall on table last week at dtd and he was gutted it had gone up . Great tour and swopped 20% with mate who came 7th I'n mcr so was free rolling for 3 events . Just surprised it went up when it was doing so well I'm sure it will be decent turnout either way

Probably be 1ks season after, must be the aim.

Some of the genting dates go head to head with Dtd deepstack. Need to get organised with dates for ukipt gukpt genting and Dtd. Love playing twice a month but having to play more feels like a job and diminishes the enjoyment for me. So good to have competition tho and looks like genting are making a massive effort. Southend and Edinburgh won't get decent fields surely. Would expect Stoke, star city and Sheffield to sell out fast and be in big demand.

I agree Jason edingburgh expensive and southend is a long drive . Star city stoke and Sheffield should be ok . 2013 is when genting are hopefully opening a brand new casino on Salford dock so mcr could get 1 at a latter date

Southend has a tiny room for poker and is stuck in a sort of basement with no windows etc. Awful choice and I speak as someone for whom that casino is my "local". Why would you possibly pick that as a location?

Is Edinburgh still expensive when the fringe isnt on?

Id imagine itll get a few hundred locals + players from Glasgow/Dundee/Aberdeen

Look for apartments. I've stayed at some in Edinburgh and Cardiff for poker in the past and they're ideal and relatively inexpensive.

It is in a basement at sea level but the card room itself has ample space for 12-13 tables its not the old card room which was as described, still a rubbish choice in terms of numbers as if you go back through the festival threads over the past 3years they cant even get more than 30 runners for a £150-£250 f/o so i doubt too many locals will be involved.

This just isn't true. Just because it is wildly successful does not mean that you ahve to raise the buy in; they want to raise the buy in to make more money but run the risk of changing the whole nature of the tour. Once you nup the buy in more you cut out the casual player who realistically knows they will not win. The onlien qualifiers decrease as less seats are available for the same amount. Many of the pros do not turn up because there is no longer the same value of casual players who are basically added value.

It does not compute that just because you ahve a successful 550 series that will sell out that you will have a successful 770 series. I might direct buy in to a 550. I wouldnt for a 770. It is over a threshold of what I am prepared to pay. One season the ept upped its buy ins to 8k. The next year they were down to 5k cause there were a fall in numbers.

I fed back these comments to the powers that be. With the timely acquisition of the Fox Club in London, it has been decided to move this leg of the tour from Southend to the Fox club. Should get a good turn out there.

That's great news right there Karl and shows just how good Genting are going to be whilst listening to those in the know.
 Just get  Edinburgh moved to Manchester and move a couple of dates so not to clash with Dtd deepstacks then I reckon Genting could have the most successful tour of 2012 and have no overlay at all in the comps.

Just selfish reasons and thinking of genting. Even ukipt was awful held in the corn exchange up there.
Will obv be good for you as there should be a generous overlay and you deserve another chance to show that Scotland warrants holding decent comps. No offence but holding it in Manchester means twice as much interest :(

You may laugh but it's the organisers that listen who tend to do well.  I don't begrudge the scots a leg at all but wish they would hold it in the capital city. Why they did not choose Newcastle in the first place astounds me

It is played I'n a side event a few years back is a decent size and is I'n good location will buy you a beer if you sort it Out

 The Circus in Manchester is just to small.The card room can only fit 10/12 tables in, and thats at a push,and the parking is really bad, so to be honest you have no chance of getting a leg in Manchester.

It was valet parking last time I went and there's millions of tables in that all you can eat opposite :)

The corn exchange was a terrible venue. Most people were stood outside adds eating an asda sandwich for lunch. We stopped near some place that had ferries sailing from but 20 mins from the venue.
Just realised this was season 1 as I only played Galway , notts and Manchester this year so I do apologise if season 2 was better.

You could use Salford mint as well as circus I'n mcr easy fit 100 I'n each venue then day 2 just use 1 venue just an idea . Would have no trouble selling 400 seats

Not been for over 3 years now the last time i went their was no valet parking and opposite is a Mc D.

On maps it says it's called tai wu but don't remember it called that? Used to come straight down Portland street n do a u turn in front of casino and east European guy used to take the car away. Cardroom was upstairs right and the restaurant had some connection with christophe novelli. Big Chinese clientele on the gaming floor. Same poker players that played in 235 an 36

gonna pop into circus this friday and saturday to take some fuckinng money off the  chinese!!!!

You can here yourself think at Dtd coz they don't have mahjong. Now that's a major attraction.

Did you stop going when all the 10k pots died speedy. I was traveling 2 hours a night over there 3 nights a week, playing circus, 235 and 36 Stockport. Not worth traveling now but see the same old faces at the G on bury new road when ukipt or gukpt is in town. So many characters who play I'm Manchester and always a good laugh

Cant remember the 235 having them sort of pots?? but the other 2 where amazeing and you are correct stop going when the big pots stopped. The Circus and the 36 if you had not book in by 7.30 you did not get a seat most of the time.

235 was a Sunday I think. Prob £50 rebuy but Abid put most of the money in the pot. Yes the buffet at 36 was amazing.  Free drinks too, not that I drink but watched Shaf order a double brandy every orbit...  That was till they decided to charge £1 a drink and I never saw him order another one lol
