There have been no eliminations in level 1 with some of the field yet to turn up due to starting stacks being so big.

We are up to 126 entrants, just 7 away from making the £250,000 guarantee with 6 levels of late registration.

James Dempsey has had a very nice start, despite being in the building for about 20 minutes.

There was about 1,500 in the middle on a K-6-9 board, Cugudda lead out 450, Skipper flatted, Luke Hallinan made it 1,050, Dempsey called behind, Cugudda and Skipper folded.

Turn - A

Hallinan lead out for 2,800, Dempsey flatted.

River - Q

Hallinan checked, Dempsey bet out 5,000, Hallinan called to find out he was behind the AK of Dempsey, Hallinan mucked.

Not good so far. Most pots are ~ 3k multj-way.

I'm down to 23 after losing with QQ to J9. and 1010 to 97. Both flopped 2pr.

Desptie final tabling the £300 Deepstack at the start of this month, Jonathan Kittridge is an early departure. He had 8,000 chips and got them in the middle with QQ, to be flipping against the AK of Mark Elliott. The 2-4-J flop was safe for Kittridge, but K on the turn wasn't.

He is 2nd out of the 137 in so far today

Three way pot with titaniumbean, LilDave and Red-Dog

The board reads  Qs 7s 5h 9s and titaniumbean in the small blind, in a move not normally in his rather limited arsenal of moves, has check raised to 4,500

When both is opponents fold, LilDave being the closer of the two to giving him action...titaniumbean flips a cheeky  4c at Nicholson, getting a grimace. Which was probably Mr Bean's intention

Lee Taylor has just been able to win a big pot, without having to go to showdown.

Jamie Dale made it 1,050, Jamie Andree flatted, Bradley Gibbs made it 3,100, then Lee Taylor 4 bet to 7,150.

It folded back round to Gibbs who took multiple long hard stares at Taylor before flatting.

Flop  9-A-6

Gibbs looked at Taylor, checked, then Taylor shoved for his remaining 14,000.

Gibbs took an age, looked at Taylor some more then passed, Taylor showed QQ.

Ganesh Jayaraman is now out after being on the wrong side of a one outer.

Two limps, and Jayaraman shoved from the big blind for 5,925. It folded to Ashique Miah who thought long and hard before calling.

Jayaraman - Ad 9d

Miah - 4h 4s

the flop of 3d Qd Ahrt left Jayaraman only needing to avoid a one outer as he sat back down, but 4c on the turn was cruel, the river being Js.

Jono Beck raises playing 13,000

Mike Ellis calls on the button playing over 40,000

Arron Woodcock calls in the small blind paying 12,500

flop  Ahrt Jh 7h

Beck leads for 1100

Ellis flats

Woodcock now c-raise all in

Beck calls..

Ellis overcalls

Woodcock  Ks Qh

Beck  Aspades Jc

Ellis  9h 8h

Ellis' flopped flush fades the heart outs for Woodcock and the house outs for Beck, he knocks them both out and goes over 70,000

Bita and bobs form around the tables

Dubai wins a 25,000 pot blind on blind versus Ryan Spittles

Dubai  Kc 2s on  8c Ks Jh Kh 9s, value bet paid off on the end

-----------

George Bedi up over 70,000

--------------

Lil Dave is, according to the man himself "getting bashed up like cabbage"

Colburn Tomlin tells him his new nickname is "medium weak" as that's what every hand Lil Dave takes to showdown is

I tell the larger than life Tomlin that Dave is playing for "charity"

Tomlin replies that " Dave is a charity"

Must be pretty close to an all time low from Nicholson, rub downs from Rastafish

----------------

Jerome Bradpiece is one of the chipleaders, 85,000 plus whereas alongside him Kimber is below starting stack. Assuming the former won a nice pot off the latter

------------------

Neil Channing 35,000. Glued to twitter.

-----------------

Side by side Nirvana and Mark McCluskey both have chips, probably over 60,000 each

-----------------

Eso Kral 40,000.

----------------

Alex Martin probably back over starting stack. A bit more patient today, or merely hungover? Either way he's still in contention

----------------

James Moult doubles up.

There was 7,000 in the middle on a K-2-7 board, Moult bet out 4,000, Gary Jones made it 10,000. Moult shoved for about 30,000, Jones tanked and called with A-K which was behind the Aces of Moult.

Turn 10 and river 3 were no help to Jones.

Ifzal Mohammed, otherwise known as Ronnie chopped the £300 Deepstack with 3 other players at the start of the month, and has just won himself a big pot after eliminating two.

On a 6-7-9 board Robin Fisher got his money in with about 10k, called by both Ronnie and Rob Garfield.

Turn - Ace, and Ronnie put Garfield in for an additional 15,000 or so, who called.

Fisher - QQ
Ronnie - 10 8
Garfield - 8 5 ( lower straight )

Ronnie was in great shape, with Fisher drawing dead and Garfield drawing to a split pot, River 3 meant Ronnie shipped it all.

About 20,000 chips in the middle on the river with the board reading 10-2-5-5-9, Rob Charlton bets 15,000.

Paul Bracken then shoves for about 60,000, with Charlton just having him covered as two big stacks go head to head.

Charlton looks at Bracken for a read, but Bracken is too busy tucking into his Jacket Potato to give any away.

Charlton folds A-A face up, Bracken gently mucks.

With 15,000 in the pot Mallu shoved on a 6-6-5-3-10 board for about 28,000.

Ashique Miah tanked for a good while, I think the I was passed by 3 different valets whilst I waited, had two full conversations with Rastafish, then Miah called. Mallu announced two pair, showed KK, Miah mucked.

Whilst on the topic of Rastafish, he is now up to 100,000.

Eso Kral makes some more progress at the expense of Marc Foggin

He bets 7,000 on the end of a 6-8-10-K-3 board from the big blind and Marc finds a call with worse than J-8, Eso's hand, to send the 15,000 in the middle Eso's way
Played slightly different before those who don't know me think I'm tez in, those who do will know i am but i flatted a min raise which was called in 2spots from the bb  cc the 6810 flop then donkey the K turn before betting to fold the river but was gooooood

then bluff off 18k iso'ing the value and get called by the world and fold to a flop 4bet jam with 2overs and a gutter to a granite before winning last 2 hands to get upto 43k at break

5,000 already in the middle pre flop

Flop   Td 9d 8d

Paul Bracken bet 8,000, David La Ronde made it 20,000. Ronaldo shoved his remaining 20k into the middle,

Bracken put La Ronde all in for 57,000, La Ronde called.

Ronaldo - 6d 5d
Bracken - 3d 4d
La Ronde -  Ad Kd

Bracken then mucked his hand drawing dead on the flop, La Ronde dodged the straight flush, took it all, putting him on about 150,000.

Alex Martin is now out, he shoved the button for about 5,000 (I missed what must have been the mishap to get him there) with K4, called by the A9 of Steven Brennan.

After standing up he goes "oh I might sit back down now then".

Ace first card out, one of the players made the remark of "nah, I'd stand back up".

K4 found no more help.

AJ < J9 20,000 pot

AQ v AK on A-K-2-4-Q for 20,000

AK < 33 for 30,000

Bad call for 20,000 with A-7 v A-4 on A-9-4

means he hits the break on 11,000 from 90,000 15 minutes ago

He's a touch tilty, though not whinging.

25    9    Marcin Milde also over 100,000. BRS player on a  great run of form recently

35    9    Matt Russell has doubled to over 50,000

36    7    Andrew Wayman took down a big pot on a Q-A-J-x-Q board with Q-9 as the pre-flop aggressor. This is the deepest into a Day one I have ever seen him go at DTD

Richard Horton opens 3,000

Marcin Milde flat calls

Joe Laming  Aspades Qd in the small blind makes it 8,800

Horton folds

Milde calls

flop  Js 3s 4s

Laming leads for 7,500

Milde sets Laming in, call

Milde  Jd Jc

Top set holds to send an 85,000 pot to Milde and knock Joe out

Don't suppose if you have 5 mins you can check how The Ho is doing in the 150 can you Rich, pretty please? According to website he's still in, 12 left, 9 paid. I've got a consolation 10% after his early exit yesterday :).

Andrew Wayman knocks out Lil Dave.

Both were keen to tell me that the final hand was a cooler, though not what the hands were.

Dave reported that he "played 12 hands all day. One well, ten badly and one unluckily"

meh wasn't really a cooler. I played AK super passive postflop on a KJ78 board and by the time the river (J) came around i had 9bigs left in my stack andy was bluffing >1% of the time and I was beaten by <99% of his value bets but I was a beaten man and only wanted him or RED-DOG to take the final 9bigs and as RED was playing sung I decided to let wayman have them here. If i started the hand with like 4k more in my stack I'd have not gone anywhere near broke in this hand.

frustrating that at no point in the comp was I able to turn my cards over and combine with the middle 5 to make a superior hand, nevertheless, a great very well run comp and nice to see a bunch of people I like a lot so despite the frustrating day poker-wise I had a lot of fun, and as usual great updates tighty - will be sending you £100 as promised.

gl to all my friends tomorrow

RED-DOG does not like to do bad beat stories, but he has had his first one of the day

Colburn Tomlin sat in the wrong seat, played some hands, realised but had to stay put
