Tighty, if possible when the tournament starts, can we have a picture of Nick Yalden from the KC club in Swindon. Its Nicks debut at DTD as he is normally found cleaning out the DC / NL games at KCs, either that or hes dishing out money to put people back in the game so he can take it again. Good player, hard to read, the south wests answer to Ali Mallu.

Nice guy, very very generous, therefore, in the break call him over and show him this post, and tell him Quinny says he should donate £20 to Blonde updates. By the time the £20 has been handed over, he would have earned that back in interest from coutts & co. Nick has only recently dropped off the top 100 rich list.

Good luck all who are playing!

I reckon Rob Yong could get this country out of reccession and back on its feet.

Increase your prices by almost double and get more bloody customers. The turn out here is unbelievable and Simon reckons this comp is gonna crack £200k.

Well played Dtd and all the staff

I reckon Rob Yong could get this country out of reccession and back on its feet.

Increase your prices by almost double and get more bloody customers. The turn out here is unbelievable and Simon reckons this comp is gonna crack £200k.

Well played Dtd and all the staff

That makes it a Giffen good. Not too many examples of them in real life.

3,400 in the middle
Board -  Aspades 7s 9d Js 4s
Rhodes checked, Adam Picken bet out 2,850. Damien Rhodes check raised to 6,100.
Picken pulled his chips back, and made it 12,200 to play.
Rhodes folded, Picken was about to muck I feel before noticing me, and showed Qd 6d for a beautiful river 3bet bluff.

Dean Morris has been showing his trademark flair, with trademark results

Nigel Ventre raises to 450 at 75-150

Morris calls with a slight scowl, all bristling intent

flop  5s 7c Jc

Ventre leads for 550, Morris quickly calls

turn  4c

Ventre checks, Morris seizes on this weakness and with an almost imperceptible floaty glint in his eye Morris makes it 900

The glint disappears when Ventre calls

river  8h

Ventre checks

Morris tries again, this time 2,100

Ventre check raises to 5,000 and Morris frowns, the familiar frown of a man who has been stuck in a car with Pizzled and celtic on the long journey here

A bit of a pause for effect, a consideration of other courses of action and then the meek fold so beloved of Luton opponents the Home Counties over.

Well played Dean.

15,000 in the middle
Board -  2h 4c 8d 5s
Andrew Sherwood bet 4,000, Stuart Guite casually flicked in 15,000.
Sherwood counted his 24k stack, counted some more, played with his chips, counted again, counted a final time before calling
Sherwood -  Qc Qh
Guite -  5h 8h
River  Jd means Guite up to 65k, Sherwood down to 700.

We are now on a 20 minute break

Last hand before the break down to 21k. Raised 400 under the gun with AK. Next player 3 bets to 1100, mid position limps. I 4 bet to 3200, call call. KK3 flop. Check, check 1k mid position. Call call.
Turn 2, check all round. River 5, I lead for 6k fold and a call.
Wiiii up to 38k.

14,500 in the middle on a  9s 5s Td 2c
Kyle Godden bet out 7,000, Kevin Asquith put Godden all in for his 16k stack, Godden called.
Asquith -  9d 9h
Godden -  Kc Kh
No King on the river eliminates Kyle Godden.

Interesting hand here

Wayne Thomas raises

Tim Langley calls on the button

Sean Rigley calls in the big blind

The flop   Kh Jd 9d is as wet as wet could be

Rigley checks

Thomas leads

Langley raises

Rigley calls

Thomas shoves....

Langley shoves

Back to Rigley, facing two all ins and covering both...with  Ad Qd

He decides to take the gamble and we have a three way all in for about 90,000 at 100-200

Marks has  Qc Qd

Amazingly he is ahead as Langley has  Td 7d

So, can Thomas dodge the diamonds and the over and the gutshots?

turn  2s  So far so good

river  8h, a miracle card for Langley to hit his straight, treble through, knock Thomas out and damage Rigley considerably

8,000 in the pot on  3c 8d 6h Jd 7s

Rosemary Barry bet out 5,300

Adam Picken seemed to sigh and agonise, before picking up a chunk of chips, putting Rosemary all in for about 24,000

Rosemary tanked, the clock was called on her by another player, Rosemary called with  Qh Qs Just to be shown the rivered straight, Picken holding  9d Th

Picken now well up, on about 75,000.

Have your fingers ready for the head scratcher of the day
Tim Chung raised 400 pre, and found two callers.
Flop comes  Ks Th Qh
Checks to Vince Calenti who bets 900, Chung calls.
Turn -  5s
Chung check calls 2,100 from Calenti
River -  2s
check check, Calenti can't be strong here checking behind, can he?
 Jd 9d
Funnily enough the flopped straight is good, worried about the backdoor flush draw.

I'm awesome. John black smells.

Andy was at pains to tell me that despite evidence to the contrary in the play of Dwayne Quinn  over the last several years, that Swindon and the KC Club in particular is a hot bet of talented poker and heated farming discussion, most nights of the week.

Andys a fine judge of poker players however I have it on good authority someone bought Quinny a poker book for Christmas. Just needs to find someone to read it to him now and he'll be unstoppable

Hiresh Kanabar raises to 1000 at 150-300

Alan Armitage, who said afterwards he had convinced himself that Kanabar had opened blind, calls with  Qc Tc

they see a  Qs 9h 8d board

Kanabar overbets to 5,000

Armitage all in 16,000

Snapped off by  Ad Ac

Jh on the river doubles Armitage up

More action at Vinny's table, including Vinny
Vinny makes it 750, John Black calls. Vinny says "I was honestly meant to limp" after the misclick, John replies "I know you were"
Flop -  Jc 5c 4h
check/check
Turn -  Jh
Vinny check calls the bet of 900
River -  5d
Vinny checks, John makes a pot bet, Vinny slowrolls John with Queen high which is good

Glenn Henderson is out, shoving a flopped double belly buster agains t Lee Cowmeadow's Kings and missing

Into Henderson's seat moves a releatively short-stacked Syed Zaidi

In the small blind Tom McCready finds A-Kss and limps hoping for a shove from Zaidi

Zaidi obliges with 6-6, McCready calls, wins the race, knocks Zaidi out and goes over 40,000

I missed who he eliminated, but  Jh Js was good on a  Tc Td Th 9c 6d board against two players, one being an anon, the other being "that guy who railed Skipper in the Monte Carlo"
He was against  Kh 6c and  9h 8h, somehow extracting 190k from the pot, definitely the current chip leader.
Julian Thew agonises as he tells the table he folded  Ks Ts

Mr Fitzinator, shouldn't really be posting that on here until DTD have dealt with the issue, if you want them to

Speak to DTD, let them have a look if they wish.

Everyone, lets leave the issue on here please

To be fair (I have no clue if thos is an in joke, level or actually real) isn't this a good way of bringing alleged bad behaviour to peoples attention? People discuss events/goings on in this thread about this event. Where else you want this guy to post it?

Fwiw I think this is super unlikely

If it was proven, then post

As it is, Mr Buchanan hasn't posted.

Nick Yaldon wins a big pot off Nigel Ventre

on a board reading  7s 4d 9s Kd 4s

Ventre bets 20,000 from the big blind into a 30,000 pot . Yaldon calls for most of his stack with  Ad Ks and beats  6h 6d taking his stack to over 70,000

Another hand at Vince's table
Anthony Wooley makes it 1700 pre, called by Chung and Vince.
Flop -  Js Jh Td
checks to Wooley who makes it 2,000, both players call.
Turn -  7c
Vince leads for 4,200, both Wooley and Chung flat.
River -  Ahrt
Vince checks, Wooley bets 12,000. Chung tanks for 4 minutes before folding 89, Vince does the same, tells us he does it with the same hand, also holding 89, Wooley had AA for the rivered boat

Dewi James is just out

Lost a 70,000 pot

After a raise Dewi flats with  Jh Th

3rd player re-raises to 3,500

Dewi flats after the initial raiser folds

 Kd Qc 7c

Dewi check raises all in over a 4,000 c-bet and is called by Aces

Dewi misses his OESD

"a brain fart" he describes it as. His play, not the Aces.

Sean Belton opens to 2,600 with 7-7 and is called by Charlie Wates in the big blind

A flop of  7h 5h 2d fits the bill

Wates checks, Belton 7,500 and Wates all in check raise for 41,000 total

Wates has also flopped huge with  8h 6h

4c on the turn, no pair on the river, and Wates doubles taking about 45% of the Belton stack

Paul Ho is out

He lost half his stack to Adam Perters when Peters got the lot in with AJ versus AK and flopped a jack

Ho then took K-J off against John Charalambous' K-J suited for the rest, shove pre and call

Charalambous rivered the flush to do for Ho.

Thanks.

Just caught a Fitzpatrick hand as I went to check up on him.
Player in EP makes it 4k, called fromt he button then Andy Mcleod shoved for 17,000. Fitzpatrick reshoved for 40k, players behind folded
Fitzpatrick - Ac Qc
Mcleod -  9d 8h
9 on the flop, Mcleod almost triples.

To answer your question, Fitzpatrick on just under 35k

Palethorpe also on 35k

Harvey Butters all in big blind 39,000

Chung shoves, and eventually Burberry passes

We're done.

Or more specifically, I am.

84 of 284 have made it through, meaning 131 return tomorrow fighting for a share of the £217,000 spoils

Tomorrow is going to be a mighty long day. Back of the envelope estimates suggest it will take 18 levels play to get to a winner, for a 2am Monday finish. Craparama.

The final will be live streamed on DTD Poker and I will be reporting the final on here with a half an hour delay so as not to spoil the stream. Double craparama.

Anyway, for now...

Chip counts will be along in due course

The exits in the last level were

86    Paul Garnham
87    Harvey Butters
88    Ian Bradley
89    Farhad Mirfakhrai
90    James Tomlin

Amjad Mohammed shoves for 20k, Alan Armitage calls
Amjad -  5h 5d
Armitage -  Ac Qs
Flop -  Kc 5c 4h
Turn -  3d
Amjad starts fist pumping and makes eye contact with me, I think he's forgot about the gutshot so I look towards to the river as if to say it's not over yet.
Amjad's eyes finally meets with the board as the river is dealt
-  2d
Amjad gutted and out.
