Title: LAPC
Post by: SuuPRlim on January 17, 2012, 01:17:08 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am lucky enough to be in the "wonderful" city of LA during the LAPC, (WPT) and as part of my drivvvvve to play more live comps this year I am going to give myself a spin in the main event!

The main is a (straight) $10,000 buyin event (structure here - http://www.commercecasino.com/images/uploads/structuredSheets/LAPC46.pdf)

The field won't be "super soft" It will have some extremely good players in it, however the commerce is home to some of the world's fishiest and wealthiest so there will great value, last year's tournament attracted 631 runners (there aren't 631 "top" tourney players in the world) and a top prize of $1,654,000 ( http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event.php?a=r&n=50065 )

To add some value, I am going to play the $2,080 PLO as well and happy to include that in the package - If you are not aware 6max and HU PLO has been my primary game for ~2years and I've had decent success in online PLO tourneys.

Going to sell at 1.1 : 1 - I'm confident this is a reasonable price - My Record in Live tournaments is practically zero, however never before this year have I really decided to put my mind to them, and I am very experienced at deepstacked Live NLHE vs all types of players.

40% available.

2.5% = $332.20
5% = $664.40
10% = $1328.80 and so forth.

I will lock the $ rate in at the rate I send my Wire to the commerce in (will be sending first week of FEB), which I think is fair (if anyone disagrees defo say) and re-payment  (should there be any) will be made at the rate I sell my $'s back in - if the dream was alive and I won, %'s would roll over to the $25k seat early May.

Form an Orderly flaming queue and remember to #lovethegame

***I am going to be playing the side games mostly, so there is a VERY small chance that I might NOT play the $2k plo if for whatever reason I have been involved in great games surrounding the tournament (if i feel too tired, tilted etc, but I intend 100% to play - money will be refunded at the rate you BOUGHT in, so no1 will lose out)***

have many chips, many many many chips.

Seriously I do actually have loads of chips, blinds 300-600 and I have about 160k, 21 left and that equates a little below 10% of the total chips inthe room. 8 paid $44k ftw.

Bad news. busted 10th, had a "tournament pot" with top set and NFD vs wrap and flush draw in a 4way 3bet pot, for about 35% of the chips. Grinded my 15 remaining big blinds or w/e till the days final hand where i get KK89 in vs AAJ9 and that was gg two off the money.

starting a fight with the types of people who frequent this casino would drastically decrease the liklihood of me being able to blog about it, already with a 2digit deficit in limbs lol

winning, I'm trying but so far this trip we've done nothing but finish runner up in most of the hand we've played.

Chin up, Mr N, it's all about handling them swings & swongs. Have a few good cash sessions, then have a good run at that big Tourney.

Title: Re: LAPC
Post by: SuuPRlim on February 24, 2012, 12:13:12 AM
ok team. here's the deal, this weekend I had food poisoning and was really ill, since getting to L.A i've also been kinda >100% all week, feeling generally pretty sick, so i've been playing like 3-4 hour sessions max.

There is a high chance I won't play the $10k, for two reasons, firstly there is no way I'm playing my best atm, speshly when the session gets past 3 or 4 hours, so playing all day for 5 days if I am lucky enough to go deep is not going to be great, but also if I don't feel well I don't really enjoy playing, and I hate being sat around a table flicking chips around when all I wanna do is be upstairs asleep.

If I genuinely feel like it's the right thing to then I'll play, if not then I'm not going to. Apologies to everyone who I know was looking forward to the sweat.

There is another $10k WPT in Bay101 Shooting stars in 10 days time, so If I do miss it, providing I am back to full fitness I will VERY LIKELY go and play that! so if you'd all like to give it a week and if I go ( was planning on going anyways) roll everyone's percentages over?

Let me know.

Apologies team

not going to play, just dont feel like 12 hour tourney day, been playing 4 or 5 hours max recently. I'd say I'm 90% to go to Bay101, thats a great tourney, moorman has a $5k bounty as well so hopefully bust him :D

Hi Everyone!

So So Sorry for me slightly forgetting about this, there were two belguim gentlemen in town who fancied a bit of 50/100nl+plo and we played virtually non-stop from thursday afternoon until tuesday morning. leading me in mt zombie like state to completely forget that the bay101 had even started, I had fully intended to go.

I am without fail (lol) going to play the wynn classic 5k on saturday(or whenever it starts!) and as I gesture of apology for the mayhem of this staking thread (I've been having quite a rough ride out here!) I will roll your %'s over @0.95:1 so if you're happy with that I will refund you $59.65 for each 1% you had.

Sorry again, it's been completely manic for me over here, under-slept and doing my bollocks!

Title: Re: LAPC

Fine with me as well.

When staking, the sweat is usually about whether you get any winnings. This sweat is all about whether my money will actually get spent.

I thought this may come in useful for some of the stakers.

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event.php?a=l&d=06&m=03&y=2012&weeks=10&location=country&c=USA&l=&t=&city_distance=0&city=

That way Dave doesn't need to keep us updated of his plans, as we can all just check the next date on the calendar.  Unfortunately I couldn't limit it to $5k+ events.

In case this came across wrong, better make it clear that I am happy with whatever you choose, and please do a win in the Wynn Classic.

Thoughm the masochist in me is hoping for the sweat on Jacksonville.

Title: Re: LAPC
Post by: SuuPRlim on March 07, 2012, 11:32:55 PM
haha. very good

yes I'm a clown, I often forget that whilst it's clinically stupid of me to be this disorganized with my own money (anyone who knows me can back that claim up lol) that's my risk and the constant financial and stressful consquecences I face because of that is my own doing but it's a little irresponsible to be this disorganized with everyone else's!

I am genuinely planning on playing jacksonville. wonder what the odds are I'll actually go lol

lets win the wynn classis first, i'm staying in the encore so high hopes!

arrr poker!

Title: Re: LAPC
Post by: SuuPRlim on March 11, 2012, 06:04:12 AM
Ok I've actually registered for the Wynn classic.

What this means is I've approached the cash desk, handed them 4 seemingly worthless pieces of plastic and got a piece of paper in return!

This increases the likihood of me playing significantly! In a moment on sheer lunacy I almost bought into the $2k today as well, I know, what am I thinking lol.

I actually really enjoy playing tournaments but I find motovating myself for them extremely difficult, how the likes of Eddie Eames and everyone in the WSOP plays so many so often is literally beyond me. Anyways, gl us

I'm almost 100% sure there are 31 left. Defo down to 4 tables.

on a side note, Tom Machese could defo be the best player I ever played at NLHE.

Any particular reason why? Gl lilone

Not really, just felt like he was awesome sat next to him for 1day+1/2 lots of small perfect plays all the time, makes the difference over massive sicko moves once in a while.

I owe everyone money. It's going to be a bit tricky to sort as having bad bank troubles since been here, and I might end up having to ask someone to do it on my behalf, but I'm on it down worry!

Why don't you just propose another 5k event, or one that whatever is left in the kitty will cover? I'd be happy to roll it over to another.

Or when you next play a beardy Belgian just let him play with our money - he'll spin it up no bother.

Hi Guys,

Sorry this has taken a while, I've horror bank problems recently, here is what I owe the people I will have to bank Xfer to

Doobs -  $298.25 (189.81)
AndrewT/Claypole/AlrightJack - $149.23 (94.90)
Tikay - $596.50 (375.62)

Tikay I can sort as I have you set up already, if the other three could PM bank details I'll sort this within the next 5 days.

Dan Morgan I'll sort you out over a nice civilised lunch in leeds :D, Redarmi me and you have other business I should be able to sort pretty quickly from mid-next week and Titbeam I'm just gonna knock him for his 94.90 which I'm sure anyone decent would do in my shoes :D

Mullhuzz IDK if you ever sent, if you did I owe you 94.90, if you didnt you owe me 115.30 (pounds) but dw like i said I know you made a solid effort to try and pay but I was sure I was missing the LAPC at this point and didnt want to take your money without knowing exactly what I was playing, trust you 100% and am confident you would have done if I gave you my bank details when you asked :D

Thanks for the rollover idea's but tbh this has been a bit of a mess so I think putting a line under it and straightening everyone out then next time make an effort to be a little more organised.

I had a LOT of things go against me this trip, not only in the tournaments but with getting ill, the commerce messing up my wire transfer, general timing and loads of other quirker little things that happened to make life tough. I was just constantly put in positions where external stuff was really hindering me making money, not complaining at all such is life I'm really happy with how I played in the tournaments (wynn $5k in particular) just that the stars really were aligned against me from the off-set this time! Sometimes It just isn't your day....

As always thanks for the faith and patience with me, hopefully next time I sell action in a tournament I will win!

GL
