Plenty of people to cheer on then, shout outs for your favourites please!

Payouts and seat draw closer to the start.

The main roads are all fine, the side roads are treacherous, but everyone should get here fine.

A reminder that the final will be live streamed, now with only a 15 minute delay, on www.dtdpoker.com

These updates will coincide in so far as it is poissible with the action you are watching on your screens

If I am called in to commentate (this was being threatened yesterday, unlucky everyone!) then I'll need you all to post up big hands and exits please!

Thread should be renamed 'Funk for Tikay'

'approximately' 82? Based on the fact that some may not get here for Day2 I guess?

based on the fact the site won't be updated with a seat draw for a few hours, and usually a couple of late exits aren't recorded overnight

Ali Mallu flats on the button

Luke Fields makes it 20,000 in the small blind with 33,000 behind, with  Aspades Qh

Blake passes

Mallu sets Fields in with  Kc Qc

Fields calls

Ahrt Kh Ts 3h Ks

Mallu knocks out Fields, who heads back to Leeds in time for the Sundays....

Who?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David-Alexandre_Beauregard

On Friday David is going quite well, but he asks not to be reported as the Panthers have a game on Sunday, which he would have to miss if he made day 2, or miss the day 2. A decision to be made....

Well come this morning, the Panthers trip to Edinburgh is cancelled due to road conditions (touch ironic for Ice hockey) so here he is

Fated to win?

This is no joke, but tikay appears to be the most active player at his table. When I saw his initial seat draw, I must say I thought it was fantastic. Local tight players, mainly

Sadly tikay lacks the ability to do anything about it, has lost 4 of the 5 pots he has played to day and is down to 60,000 at 2000-4000.

Alli continuing the serge after yesterday telling us that he's due.
Mallu limped, and Rizwan Khan shipped for 50k - everytime I've walked past the table hes been all in.
Folds round to Mallu who calls with Jh Js having set the trap, just to be flipping against the Ks Qs of Khan.
No help for Khan, shipping Mallu a 100k pot.

er, tikay is OUT

The button playing 35,000 jammed unopened. tikay knows what his range is here, he is an analyst after all. It's any two, right?

tikay has 8-8. he shoves

The button has K-K

tikay asks for a ruling, asking the floor how he can have Kings there?

Leaves tikay with 27,000

Next hand in the small blind. Raiser makes it 19,000

tikay shoves with 10-10

Raiser has A-Q and rivers the overcard

Hard luck.

He jams with [8D][8C], called by the [7C][7D] of Paul Donaghey, 8's hold leaving Donaghey with about 35k.
Next hand Donaghey shoves with [KD][QH], just to come off the worse to Ceri's [AD][QD], Donaghey out, 52 remaining.

Best table in the room is

Barry Neville seat 1 170,000

Tim Blake seat 2 360,000

Ryan Spittles seat 3 200,000

Ali Mallu seat 4 300,000

Darren Jarvis seat 5 120,000

Mark Wagstaff seat 6 240,000

Paul Romain seat 7 180,000

Lee Dixon seat 8 200,000

Poor Jarvis must feel like he is being slapped around the face with a wet Dover sole. Open spots for him to shove/seek that double up are few and far between

Largely because Mallu gets into pots before him....

11    6    Darren Jarvis
11    7    Mark Wagstaff
11    8    Paul Romain
11    9    Lee Dixon

A very active table with Mallu in most spots but not having it his own way. Ryan SPittles has a tough spot OOP to Mallu and is losing ground to under 160,000 currently

12    1    Anonymous
12    3    Todd Swain
12    4    Martin Lawton
12    5    Peter Wilkerson
12    6    Nick Hicks
12    7    Jordan Williams
12    8    Peter Haslam
12    9    Faramarz Mirfakhrai

Todd Swain is swinging and fighting for the young guns on this steady and conservative table. Haslam and Hiocks have chips, and unlikely to make too many mistakes, both experienced and talented players

13    1    Basharat Mahmood
13    2    Michele Parrillo
13    3    Adam Daniel
13    4    Alistair Carins
13    5    Ganesh Jayaraman
13    6    Cam Law
13    9    Raefe Tucker

Daniel is table captain, the rest are under average stacks and not really standing in the way

14    1    Adrian Reynolds
14    2    Gregory Garrett
14    5    Jeremy Brown
14    6    Stuart Fox
14    7    Sunil Mistri
14    8    Ceri Rees
14    9    Matthew May

May has been quieter today whereas Sunny Mistri has more than doubled up in the first three levels.

21    1    Gurdev (tony) Millan
21    2    Jeffrey Hemmerman
21    4    Andy Helm
21    5    Iain Campbell
21    6    Tonino Montesanti
21    7    Nicholas Crisp
21    8    Shirley Lacey
21    9    Chanjit Johal

Tony Millan and Jeff Hemmerman is the active corer of the table. both 300,000+

22    2    Graham Parkin
22    3    Doig Rudling
22    4    Derek Collinson
22    5    Anthony Poole
22    6    Glen Storey
22    7    Prassanna Suryanarayanan
22    8    John Perrin
22    9    Scott Eustace

Poole is primarily battling with Storey and Scott Eustace. The three biggest stacks at the table

If Poole clings onto 600,000 long enough it will be the greatest achievement of his poker career. Normally he's donked them off long before this to get into the biggest cash game he can find

Just call me nostradamus

Barry Neville open shoves the small blind, into Tim Blake

Blake calls all in with 9-9, Neville has to show 10-4

Blake doubles back up to 300,000...leaves Neville very short

Lee Dixon opens, Ali Mallu 3 bet shoves, setting Dixon in to call

Dixon does call, with Aces

Mallu has to flip K-9 off

Dixon turns Quads goes over 300,000

Mallu down to 100,000

Rees checks, May makes it 20k, Rudling to 75k. Rees jams his boat, May folds, Rudling calls. Rudlling has a flush, and is drawing dead as he is eliminated.

Prassana made it 50k, Lee Dixon called.
Ryan Spittles shoved for 98k, both players called.
Flop - 8s 8h 9c .
Prasanna ships, Dixon calls.
Spittles - Ac Ad .
Dixon - Tc Td  .
Prasanna - Ahrt 9h .
Turn is an evil Ts , river 9 to boat up Prasanna makes no difference, Dixon eliminates both as Spittles is the bubble, Prasanna finishes 27th.

We watch a hand with Greg Garrett.
board is 5h 3d Qd 8c , Eustace bets 70k, Poole calls.
River - 5d . Eustace bets 100k.
Garrett says it just stinks of a bluff, Poole hasn't played this optimally but just always have to call off here based on his line with the marginal hand he probably has.
Poole calls, Eustace says You've got it showing 8s 9s , Poole shows the winner of Td Th.

are you in the showcase cinema at dtd coz i read your facebook status earlier. not much of a railer for Glen, unless you pulled a valet then i,m sure Glen will be fine on his own  :)up

Ha no, it's on TV so I'm in the comfort of my warm house.

I thought you'd known me for long enough now to realise that cinema isn't my style. Toilets for best part of 30 seconds is the best a DTD valet can hope for. I'm sure they're all dreaming of it as we type.
lol. post moar or even start a diary

Rees 85,000 with K-K red red

Daniel with A-8ss calls

Crisp finds A-J...perfect spot for a squeeze you might think... not really his style....Calls

3 way to the flop   7s Js 4h

Crisp top pair top kicker

Daniel nut flush draw

Rees the overpair

Rees 180,000 c bet

Daniel makes the call

Crisp last played a three way pot in 2005, way out of his comfort zone....

top pair top kicker 180 to call 667 in the pot

playing 800k

all in!

Rees a bit slower than I would have like, OK, a lot slower than you would like.....hurry up man.....what's the agony? please re-shove...soon...if he has a set, he has a set, unlucky...stick it in.....

Adam Daniel can get away here...yes?

Now then Daniel with the NFD versus TPTK

665 to call, 1.53m in the middle

Crisp's image might get this through....very tight player

Daniel hates passing though....

call or fold?

Ceri should snap shove.

Daniel's is an auto call once Rees folds simply cos Crisp can shove worse draws

KK is a snap... possibly hollywood call ainec. A8ss should also call quicker, given the dead money etc, getting a ridic price. Poker loses in this hand.

Definately does not pass. Calls quicker, gets an even better price with almost identical equity. Should be a lock to win the comp if there's a 3-way all in and he gets there (40% or so)

Hey mate. I have never met you but have been trying to find out who you are. Once kingoni told me who you were I thought you would crush that final table (thought hicks and romain would have too). The blog made out that you were the one wanting the deal most and from playing you so often on line I would have thought you would shoot for the win

Great effort tho v wp

Lol. I said on the feed that you won't deal because you will fancy it and Paul won't because of his backers. Goes to show what I know (once again) rotflmfao

Just got round to reading though the blog after sleeping through most of yesterday...drove back to Croydon after the end of comp, arrived 5am, after 3 hours sleep Friday night and another 3 on Saturday night lol!

Well done to Nick for the win...Ceri is right that the other 3 of us were keen to deal...it had reached the point where none of us really had any leeway to do anything other than shove/fold and 4 handed you're pretty much at the mercy of the deck. I didn't really fancy effectively sticking £9k in the middle hoping to win £7k on a flip - rather than taking £20k there and then - so with apologies to people sitting up watching the stream hoping to see an  epic HU battle...I was more than happy to be on my way home lol!!

Couple of other things that have arisen in the blog...Ceri's fold of KK firstly. When I found out what he folded I have to admit I was thinking "wtf" too....much the same as I did when Toni raised button and folded to a shove that he was getting nearly 3/1 to call i think. BUT...as someone said above...what seems easy to you when you are watching, or even taking part but not the one with the decision to make, is nowhere near as easy when you are the one looking at a call that might be about to cost you tens of thousands of £££ !! Yes, they were mistakes...of that there is no doubt. But before criticising please bear in mind that the pressure you are under is intense, unless you are lucky enough for £46k to be small change! Each and everyone of the people that make a final table in a tournament like this have played extremely well to get there...and almost certainly been lucky along the way too at some stage. They all deserve congratulations not criticism.

Finally I've noticed there seems to be quite a lot of negativity to one of the final tablists. I'm not aware of the history but just wanted to say I spent quite a bit of time on the same tables as him over the course of both days and found him to be a decent bloke, good humoured and played game in the right spirit. Perhaps he had an off day before? I have a few of those too so know its easy to create a false impression. In fact its worth saying that considering the amount of money at stake, the final, as with the rest of the competition, was played in a tremendous spirit. Its great that in poker it is so rarely otherwise in my experience. Never ceases to amaze me that in such a financially competitive environement, poker players invariably enjoy seeing their regular opponents do well and are so supportive of each other. Its almost unique and one of the things that makes poker such a fantastic "job" to do, and it's wide community good to be part of.

Lastly great updates from Tighty and Jonathan as usual. Well done guys!

Paul Romain
