Title: The National Lottery. Sold out.
Post by: RED-DOG on February 13, 2012, 08:59:24 PM
We all know how poor the odds are, but we keep having a punt because Sod's Law says that the one week we don't buy a ticket, our numbers will come up.

It's a bit like buying a piece of me really.

Selling 100% at 70/30 in backers favour after stake back.

10% £56

Given the 70/30 post stakeback split, could you be tempted to sell an additional 5% over and above the 100%?

Just realised - I MAY be available for this. If I can, it was a bit daft of me to buy action in someone I regularly crush, both at the poker table, & the Diary Wars.

Fortunately, it's Tom you have a stake in, so the above doesn't apply.

Very disappointed to be out so early.

I had an extremely laggy young man on my immediate left. He played every hand aggressively, twice pushing his 30k chips all in during the first level to take down ~ 4k pots.

Early in level two I raise with aces. He 3 bets, (Nothing unusual there)  I 4 bet to 2.5k. He gives it some verbal and eventually calls.

I have him on AK or a biggish pair.

The flop is 345 with two hearts. I have the ace of hearts.

I lead for 4k and he quickly pushes all in.

I'm almost sure I'm calling, but I have a little think just to make sure. What can he have here?

He could of course have A2 or 67 for the straight, but I don't think so. (Why would he push all in?) same goes for a set really.

He could have two pair, (more likely to push two pair on this board) but considering he has 3 bet, and then called my 4 bet pre, I still suspect an over-pair.

If he does have two pair, we still have outs, any ace, any duce, we can pair the card he doesn't hold, and we have the ace of hearts.

Can we possibly pass here? I don't think so.

I call. He has 45 and we don't improve.

What can I say? I really was disappointed.

Sorry guys.

It's a brutal game sometimes, Tom.

All your backers were 100% happy with your efforts, except that Matt Russell luckbox chap, who was tutting & tsking something shocking.

Come play the £150 today - go on, you know you want to. Your regular backers would support you.........
