"Hi Guys

The UKIPT is absolutely flying, since we announced Day1c was full the direct buy ins have shot up, everyone wants to have a go at this massive £1,000,000 prizepool, please buy in asap if you want to be sat at the start as i expect queues every day for the 6 levels of late reg. I am glad we agreed with Stars to drop our monthly £500 but a little concerned that with the interest in the UKIPT we could get caught out this weekend having Super Sized our £150, it starts at 2pm tomorrow and Saturday and we need 667 entries to hit the £100,000 guarantee, could be huge value!

Also, all this week and right up to Day 1a we are running daily satellites at the club with 2 on Sunday. So far this week there have been small overlays each night with 5 seats guaranteed. Tomorrow we have 10 seats guaranteed at 8pm and a further 10 Saturday 8 pm and Sunday 2pm, these could prove to be the best odds of getting in cheap, there is no doubt next week will be one of the highlights of Dusk Till Dawns achievements if we can hit the £1,000,000 guarantee, i hope you will join us at some point next week, even if just for a side event, the atmosphere will be electric.

Cheers ACES"

So, needing 667 entries then, a huge task for DTD this weekend with so much attention on the UKIPT.

Get yourself to Nottingham, play the £150, try to qualify for the UKIPT, enjoy Easter at the best poker club around.......

They have come close to ending the comp early a couple of times tighty due to  low numbers on a Friday tighty. What's the minimum amount of runners Simon usually wants to go through from the Friday or can you ever see a situation were we got down to 9 players before the end of level 12?

I've known 13 go through. I expect a much bigger Friday field than normal with it being a holiday, so expect the full 12 levels

I believe at the last £150 Deepstack Simon said he wants no less than 15 to go through to Day 2

good luck to all blondes i might venture up for this tomoz once again dtd have come up with an exceptional prizepool for the buy in. 9 days tighty good luck young sir. do you expect this to be an overlay or do u think tomoz will be jam packed?

Overlay? Must be a strong possibility

The Oracle of Lenton, Mr Trumper, reckons they need 200 entries/re-entries today to stand a chance

I hope it doesn't overlay, DTD put a £100k gte on for £150 and that really pushes the boat out

hopefully that's rewarded but with the Irish Open taking some regs away, Easter/families taking others away, who knows...

Simon has announced we are keeping the structure similar to that of the WSOP ME.
We had this at the last £150 Deepstack, and it played out really well, average stack never really dropping below 25/30 big blinds.

Prassanna bets 800, Linton to 2k.
Prassanna makes it 6,500.
after 30 seconds of thought or so "clock" says Mihaly Jancso, in level 1 of the tournament, not even in the hand.
Pete Linton is in shock, he goes "calling the clock? in level 1? you arent even in the hand!"
"Ive got a queen, what do you want me to do. hes 3bet me and you call the clock!" says Linton
He thinks and calls with  Kd Qd
Prassanna has  Qc Js, losing the pot, Lintont already getting needled, could be an interesting table

Tan Luan Le final tabled the 150 Deepstack last time round, new to poker, he is the guy who made the nice gesture of tipping me, Louise and Caroline individually.
Earlier I asked him if he'd make final table again, he said "no, no, not this time"
I take a look back at his table minutes later, and hes doubled up with  7h 5h on a  Qs 2c 3s 7c 2h board, for a full 30k pot against Alex Goulder.
I'm guessing Goulder got it in on the river, Le hero'ed and got it right.

After a fair few raises preflop, Matt Talaga shoves for 12k.
"shall I run the hand to you" announces Talaga to Algernon.
"he reraised, I reraised, he thought I was at it so he reraised, you called, so I shoved, but I've got a hand here"
Algernon makes the call for his 10k stack with  7h 7d
Talaga says "pfffft what you think I'm doing it with?!?!" before showing  Qs Qc.
No notable cards, until the  7c on the river.
Talaga less than impressed, Algernon says to me "you always come to me getting it in bad don't you, but I knew it was coming" before facepalming and saying unlucky to his opponent

Jose "Strictly come Salsa" Pena raises

Daniel Lowton and Ricky Cross call in position

Flop is J-9-7 rainbow

Pena leads for 2,500

Lowton calls

Cross all in for about 18,000

Pena calls all in stands up and says "If I lose I am not buying in again" with a theatrical flounce

Lowton folds, as if in awe of the diva-ish temperament to his right

Cross "Two pair", without a thought he might be behind here, and flips 9-7

Pena reveals the never-likely-to-be-behind-really-Jose J-J for top set

turn 9 just to rub it in for Cross

"oh well" he says phlegmatically "I was all in on the turn anyway" as he heads off for a re-entry

Pena almost sits down in a space where his chair no longer is, as its fallen down behind him

My camera is poised, but sadly for me (but not him) he turns round and spots it just in time

Morreale makes it 700, Talaga calls. Tasos Grigoriou makes it 3k.
Morreale ships for 7k. Talaga rejams for about 13k, Tasos snaps it off.
Morreale - KQ
Talaga - 10 10
Tasos - 10 10
Great news for Morreale, especially as the  Qc hits the river, full triple up for him

Natalie Keetley limps UTG, Linton raises and Keetley limp-calls

 2d 7c 4d

Keetley check calls 900

 Ahrt

Keetley check calls 2,100

Keetley leads for 5,300

Linton all in for 15,500 with a flourish, his chips cascading from his arm like the base of a waterfal hitting the lake on a stormy day

Keetley thinks

Linton smirks

Keetley folds

Linton flings  9h 8d towards me

4.5k in the middle on a  Th 9h 2s Js 7s board
Samir Khan checks, Jon Salfi bets 4k.
Khan put Salfi all in for 15k.
Salfi tanks for a good 3/4 minutes, thinking out loud, talking plenty.
Dipak Makawana said "you could think instead of talk"
Salfi responds with "well if you are going to be a knob about it I will take eve..."
"clock" Dipak announces, before Salfi has finished his speech.
For the next 40 seconds after the clock has been called on him, Salfi continues saying "why aren't you polite, I clearly have a big decision" with Dipak and Salfi discussing the decision to call the clock.
Salfi eventually mucks, Khan shows  8s 7s

British Gas raises to 900 at 150-300

Paul Bowser calls

Johnny Zaib makes it 3,000 in the small blind

Gas flats the 3 bet

Bowser now shoves for 16,000

Zaib re-shoves 28,000

Gas playing about 35,000 has  Ac Kc

His own fault for playing trappy to the 3 bet I suppose

Long dwell, reluctant fold. Thoughts?

Bowser  Qd Qc

Zaib  Ahrt Kc

flop  2s Qh 2h more than doubles Bowser up

Gurnam makes it 1500, Salfi calls
flop -  Tc 6c 4h
Gurnam bets 2,500, Salfi to 6,500. Gurnam makes it 15k, Salfi calls.
Turn -  9c
Gurnam checks, put all in for 25k, and makes the call
Salfi -  Qc Qs
Any guess for Gurnam's hand?
Gurnam -  3h 3d, no cllub.
he misses the 1 outer river, Salfi up to about 100k.

Players now on a 20 minute break.
At the end of this  break late reg will have closed, we currently have a total of 314 entries, including re-entries which is a very strong turn out, even if it is a bank holiday friday.
134 remain, average stack at 35k going into 400/800/100 next level

8k in the middle on  Tc 9d 2d
Salfi bets 6,100, Gascoigne to 15k.
Salfi jams for about 85k, Gascoigne has him covered.
So many chips involved in the pot, Gascoigne shows us  Th 9h and I believe was pretty close to the fold button
He then finds a call.
Salfi -  Kd Qs
9c on the turn leaves Salfi dead, Gascoigne huge chip lead now on about 200k

Rupinder Bedi 5,600 in the cut off

Aulja calls

 Aspades 5c 8c

Aulja leads for 3,000

Bedi 7,000

Aulja shove for 20,000 more

Bedi calls with  Ahrt Kh and is beating

 Ac Ts

Jc turn gives Aulja the nut flush draw but he bricks the  2h river

Now into Level 11, with 2 full levels left to play today.
In total we had 256 individual entries, 61 re-entries meaning it got 317 entrants today.
It only needs to get 350 entrants tomorrow to hit the Guarantee, which in my reckoning should get smashed.
108 left, blinds now at 500/1000/100, average at 44k, Ian Gascoigne still overwhelming chipleader, up to about 220k now.

You buy in at the cash desk, and are put into the tournament in the order you buy in, same as for an alternates system. If you can't get in (unlikely, its open to 9pm!) they'd refund the re-entry

78 runners at the end of Level 12

Break

Then playing two more levels

Consequently we'll finish tonight at 12.40am

With this many runners (could be 800 total over 2 days) and extra levels in the structure, there has to be some pain somewhere I suppose. Play longer Day 1a/b or bring back 150+ for the final day and a very late finish

Stop the presses, DTD want to play until only 10% of the field (32 players) are left tonight

Marvellous news, likely to be 13-14 levels rather than the normal end of Level 12 finish

what does this mean for tomorrow? do we stop play at exactly the same time as today even if its half way through a level or?

Tom McCready over 50,000. I'm thinking there was a double up along the way and just knocked a short stack out, the shove from K-9, he's in the big blind with A-2 calls and wins

Ceri Rees approaching 100,000. James Atkin is playing directly OOP to the Welsh Wizard of Binkdom, and describes him to me as "tricky and unorthodox". Yup.

Andy Wright has been short-stacked all day and just had Aces for the first time, min-raise and no callers leading to some exasperation from the Mancunian

Rupinder Bedi is steady, alongside Ben Dobson. Both above average stacks

Paul Ho and his masculine trainers are still in with under 50,000

Ian Gascoigne 250,000 and chip leader. Grinning like a Cheshire cat, and not just as the valets pass by

Alan Armitage 70,000 and pondering pulling out of the APAT event tomorrow, as is Dai Llewellyn who is entered in Coventry too

Richard Eso Kral Blacklock below average with under 50,000. Displaying all the patience of an estate agent in a recession, which is what he is

50k in the middle on  5d 6h 2c 6s Kd
Cullumbine jams for 52k.
Ewen Maclean tanks for a good while, asks for a count, eventually calls.
Cullumbine shows  5c 4c, Maclean shows  9h 9d for the winner.
Huuuuge sigh of relief from Maclean, Cullumbine out.

Margerson makes it 3,500.
Gascoigne to 10k, Margerson to 25k. Gascoigne flats.
Flop -  8c Ac Ts
Margerson bets 16k and gets it through, 50k pot with no showdown, could be a battle emerging.

Ian Gascoigne calls a raise from Gordon Goodall with Ace-Jack hearts, and they get it all in on a Jack high flop. Goodall with Aces, holds and doubles to 140,000

Goodall then moves table, first orbit there gets Aces, and is limp-shoved on by 6-6. Aces hold again and he is yup to 190,000

Morreale rejams for 32k with  Ac Jd, Sonia folds
Morreale says "whenever your around I bink it on the river"
I told him I'd stick around

Morreale left on 1k, less than 1 bb

Simon Trumper

"Looks like the £100,000 guarantee is going to be hit in the £150, we had 317 entries on Day 1a today leaving 350 required for the guarantee, should hit somewhere between 450 - 500 tomorrow!

We had our first 10 seats guaranteed UKIPT satellite tonight and got a £1500 overlay, there is another one tomorrow at 8pm. Day 1b is nearly sold out in the UKIPT and the rate the seats are selling via direct buyins from the shop and over the counter it looks like Day 1a will also sell out in advance so don't leave it any longer unless you happy to be an alternate.

Assuming we hit the cap each day we need just 78 alternates over 3 days to hit the MILLION, the first guarantee we ever did was in our £300 Deepstack in Feb 08 and was £25,000, this grew to £100,000 in Nov 2010 then we had £250,000 in our £500 Deepstack and now £1,000,000, we haven't done it yet but would you bet aginst it? Cheers ACES"

Red Dog has told us all day he will bust in the last level of the day - regardless of what level that is
we thought it was looking good with 3 minutes remaining...
He shoves for 35k with  Ahrt Kh
Ryan Pearson finds a call for his tournament life with  Ad Qh
Qd the first card, 1 minute left and Mccready is on just 5k - 2 bigs.

In the last two levels, which once added ruined his carefully crafted strategy, he lost 142,000 of these chips to end on 108,000

11k in the middle of   7h 7c 2c Jh
Cook bets 6,400, James Morris ships for 10k.
Cook doesn't like it, but calls off
Morris -  8c 8d
Cook -  Tc Ts
Td on the river seals the deal.
"I thought you had Queens" said Cook
Raj Dhiri replied with "you thought he had Queens, so you barrelled 2 streets then called off?"
Cook left fairly quiet

"I thought you had Queens when you pushed" Was what was actually said.

Cook wasn't left quiet
