Title: DTD £100,000 GTD £150 April Deepstack; Day 1b
Post by: TightEnd on April 07, 2012, 10:12:39 AM
Yesterday saw a turnout that exceeded my expectations with 255 unique entries and 62 re-entries making 317 entries total

Today, from 2pm Day 1b and it should be mighty busy. Some talk of 500 runners, certainly expectations of 430-440 minimum

And for all, the chance to win a share of the incredible £100,000 Guarantee for only £150. Or if you are some players, £600

First prize should be £25,000 minimum.

If you can get here, get here!

In a raised pot, we go to a flop
 7h 8d 5s
4 playing checks to John Black who bets 625, Ian Turner calls, the rest fold
turn -  2s
Turner checks, Black makes it 1600, Turner calls.
river -  Qh
Turner bets 1300 quickly, called by Black, Turner has  Qc Qd for a rivered set, John shows  Kc Ks

Madness already at table 21
flop of  6s 9h Ahrt with 1k in the middle
Jose Pena checks, Fred Wise bets 800.
Pena to 2,900, Wish to 7,600.
Pena "you can beat Ace King? will you show?"
Wise says he will show, and put your chips in to find out
Pena shoves for 15k
Wise "oh dear, call"  as he pushes his chips into the middle
No one is ever guessing this one
Wise -  5h 4h
Pena -  7c 2s... yep.... 600 big blind pot and 7 high is good at this moment in time.
turn -  2h
leaves Pena drawing dead, all but out.

Still time to enter the UKIPT Sweepstake! £10 per horse, up to 20 horses per person. You're randomly allocated somebody that makes it through to day two of the main event next week. If you buy 5, you get 5 horses etc. £3000 guaranteed for first prize! A runner up prize of about £1000 is expected.

I'm on 44 seat 8 if you want to enter!

Or click the link below for more info.

Colburn Tomlin has done both bullets, a sign of a natural order returning to the world really

On the second bullet he called a raise from Jack Stokes in the big blind with Q-4. Suited

flop 10-Q-10

Colburn check raised all in, and once called we had a 160x bb pot

Stokes had flopped the kahunas with A-10 to knock him out

Winson Tran makes it 800 from the button, Algernon to 2,150.
"are they all purples? damn!" says Algernon, Tran flats.
They both check to the river of  Ts Ac 4d Ahrt 4h
Algernon checks, Tran bets 2,500.
Algernon goes to call, however two purple chips drop at the same time. He quickly retrieves a 5k chip
"sorry it stands at 10k" says the dealer, Algernon looking in shock and disappointment, before realising he's giving off tells.
Tran is annoyed that he was bluffing on the river before mucking, Algeron shows  Qh Qd

Daniel Muddiman raises called by Jenny Westerlund and Jason herbert

Herbert has 6-6

The flop gives a situation that even Herbert can't fuck up

Q-Q-6

Wrong.

Muddiman checks

Westerlund bets and Herbert calls

On the turn Westerlund bets again. Herbert no doubt is in heaven, with images of Cadwell in leather boots cascading through his thoughts as he calls and continues to allow the lady to make the action into his monster

On the river Westerlund bets 3,100 of her last 6,000

Herbert, no doubt distracted by his excitement at potentially winning a hand, thinks she has moved all in and puts 6,000 over the line flipping his cards

Westerlund with 2,900 behind and the worst hand, can fold saving her shrapnel

Normally when he takes his time like this its because he can't quite see the community cards. Generally he follows it up with a complaint that the indices of the cards are too small, ignorant of the more likely possibility that his eyes are sh1t.

Ian Gascoigne already stirring and he's already in day 2 after yesterday
Frankie says "it took you so long to call with top two pair"
Ian replies "I'm thoughtful, see if you get through to Day 2 with me"

Making day2 is the plan but finishing in the bubble
is also Ian plan.

The laconic Peter the Bandit Evans entered late and has doubled up twice

First all in with 10-10 against Carl Taylor's K-K, flopping a ten

then knocking out a shorter stack with flopped flush draw against set, flush on the river

checked round by John Sadler Tom Langley and Maria Demetriou

6 turn, Sadler 3,100 called by both

8 river, no flushes possible

Sadler check

Langley 5,800

Demetriou shove 14,000

Sadler fold

Langley fold

Demetriou wins the pot goes to 32,000

Table very inquisitive as to what she had. She wouldn't even tell me  ;carlocitrone;

A sick hand
plenty in preflop, it comes  Td 9h 2c
Terry Carter jams for 20k, Larry Mayes calls
Sheikh moves in for about 60k
Mayes finds the call
Carter -  Ac Ahrt
Sheikh -  Tc 9c
Mayes -  8c 7s

A dignified fist pump and "GET IN" from Mayes
eliminates both players, up to about 170k

Perfect spot for Lawrence Gosney to squeeze from the sb to 8,200, Ng jams for 40k.
folds round to Gosney who snaps
Ng -  Th Td
Gosney -  Ahrt Aspades
Aces hold, Gosney to about 95k.

What gosney had? It's show A8

Into Level 12 with 115 of 418 left

Blinds now 600-1200

Average 53,000

This is is the effect of the changed structure, 50xbb average in what used to be the final level of the night, so far less need for a lot of players to get shovy

Off to get a run down of the current chip leaders

Adam Rai all in for 4.5k, called by Robin Watkins and motor mouth William Kassouf. 15k in the side pot.
Flop -  Qh 4s Kc
"I'm happy to check it down" says Watkins
Watkins checks, Kassouf bets 14k.

"no shame in passing, you'll see it anyway" says Kassouf
"you think I'm taking a stab at the sidepot? I've got it, you'll see it"

"All in" announces Watkins

Kassouf in shock
"What? I've got top pair, why you say you are happy to check it down?"
"you think I'm taking a stab? I have got top pair! I might hit my 2 kicker on the turn"
"I've got backdoor flush draw you know" say Kassouf

"no shame in passing, you'll see it anyway" says Watkins, smirks around the table

Kassouf finally finds a call, with a few thousand behind

Kassouf -  Kh 2h
Watkins -  Kd Ks

short stack Rai has  Ahrt 3s, no help for either, more than a double up for Watkins

Jack leads for 10,000

Harris flats

Ronaldo makes it 25,000 with similar behind

Jack now shoves for 100,000

Harris flats

Ronaldo can't call quick enough with 4-5 for the turned nuts

Pretty daft shove by Jack with K-2, considering Ronaldo has put more than half of his stack in at this point and presumably won't be folding

Ronaldo holds on the 7 river, more than doubles up to over 80,000

Jack's stack suffers a considerable flesh wound

A raise in early position
Greek Jack reraises
Boucher shoves for about 40k
Seat 9 picks his cards up and mucks - after Boucher has shoved, who saw the folded cards
Greek Jack not happy, wanting to see the hand
calls the floor, really wants to see what he folded
Boucher had already acted, so Jack wont get to see the hand
Greek jack not happy, calls
Boucher -  Jh Jd
Greek Jack -  Kh Kd
Obviously seeing the folded cards would have made no difference to the hand at all after seat 9 said he folded 10's
Kings hold, Boucher short, Jack still unhappy he didn't see the mucked hand
