Title: <To Be Deleted>
Post by: WotRTheChances on May 08, 2012, 11:34:29 PM
After beating a 8240 field in the SCOOP Event #2-M for the $247,200 first prize, Victor Blom is on the verge of winning back to back SCOOP events, with a very deep run in the $530+R SCOOP Event #3-H. He is currently heads-up against a Romanian player 'Ruxandescu', battling it out for the $160,000 first place.

It's pretty insane to run deep in two SCOOP events in one year, yet alone back to back... and with the potential to win both.

Many people, me included, have been sceptical as to how good Isildur1 really is, with his massive cash-game swings, winning and losing $1,000,000 in a day on a regular basis for periods of his short career thus far. He has really shown his class here though... a real talent and great for the game with his fearless playing style

I would imagine he is a firm favourite now, currently with a 3:2 chiplead and I can't imagine the $40k pay-jump is of great concern to the Swedish pro.

Hands like these sure do help though:

Seat 1: Isildur1 (848986 in chips)
Seat 5: Ruxandescu (4699014 in chips)

Ruxandescu: raises 18000 to 36000
Isildur1: raises 72000 to 108000
Ruxandescu: calls 72000
*** FLOP *** [Js 8d Ts]
Isildur1: checks
Ruxandescu: bets 90000
Isildur1: raises 648736 to 738736 and is all-in
Ruxandescu: calls 648736
*** TURN *** [Js 8d Ts] [4h]
*** RIVER *** [Js 8d Ts 4h] [2c]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
Isildur1: shows [4d Td] (two pair, Tens and Fours)
Ruxandescu: shows [Qd Qc] (a pair of Queens)
Isildur1 collected 1697972 from pot

Seat 1: Isildur1 (2508444 in chips)
Seat 5: Ruxandescu (3039556 in chips)

Isildur1: raises 19000 to 38000
Ruxandescu: calls 19000
*** FLOP *** [Ac Ahrt 8c]
Ruxandescu: checks
Isildur1: bets 40375
Ruxandescu: raises 83125 to 123500
Isildur1: calls 83125
*** TURN *** [Ac Ahrt 8c] [Jc]
Ruxandescu: bets 237500
Isildur1: calls 237500
*** RIVER *** [Ac Ahrt 8c Jc] [5c]
Ruxandescu: checks
Isildur1: bets 650000
Ruxandescu: calls 650000
*** SHOW DOWN ***
Isildur1: shows [Th Kc] (a flush, Ace high)
Ruxandescu: mucks hand
Isildur1 collected 2102750 from pot

Yh he's a sick puppy alrite.

This doesn't ACTUALLY prove anything though as to his ability, as actually, anyone can win back-to-back scoops. He is though I can say seriously seriously sick poker player, however his weakest format is defo 6max PLO, which is alas what he plays most volume in as virtually no-one gives him HU action even in PLO anymore cos he is a complete fucking beast.

I heard from a friend that Rupert is very deep in one, play resumes today I think.

Believe it is the $1k 8-H, in which 153 are paid, he is 12/148 overnight.

If true, good luck him!

Confirmed true story. Ash Mason (DYBYDX) going back 3/148 along with my housemate Ben Martin (cheezees) and the one and only Dave Jones (LeKnave).

We can only hope that "WotR" gives these guys a good press!

In Jan when you were playing props with the drunk guy and winning massage flips with Andy, did you have any thoughts on my game? Also, that night you lost a pot with kings vs Andy, on the 567AA board. I agree with your river call if you remember the hand. Why did you look back at your hand the way you did, claiming only to check suits? Kinda blew my mind at the time and it was awesome to see something so small effect your thought process. Do you regularly use that sort of thing? Thoughts on the hand itself would be sweet and a great addition to the diary!

Hi guys!

Welcome to the diary.

Been umming and aahhing about whether to  start something on here for a while now because I didn't really want to look like I was copying my friend and housemate Alex. But today I'm biting the bullet as there's a few things I wanted to get off my chest, also I'd like to have something to look back on in a few years when hopefully I'm grinding heads up online against my hero and future friend Viktor Blom (isildur1).

My other passion (aside from isildur poker) is cricket, and although I've recently learned that I'm not even the best player in my own house, I'm still going to spend the summer travelling back to my home in Norfolk to play for my club at weekends.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the thread. I'll be back later to report my first session as a diarist.

Peace and Love

Thomas High

It was 1/2, not sure  but i think it was straddled to 8. Table looked like. Old crazy guy, me, you, flipping drunk, Andy. I think Andy opened button, you 3b he called. Flop came 567, check, check. Turn A, you check he bets you call. River, you c/c again. Andy had a set.

At tthe time you said you looked at your cards, so you could only see the suit, ie with your thumbs covering the letter/number, with you looking at the pips. At the time you said you weren't sure if Andy saw. Was a weird hand.

Also, that night you had the ridiculous flip where if your suits didn't come it was doubled, remember that?

Whose winning in the house stack chart atm?

Still playing the flipping game?  (The one that involves the full deck and like 18 showdowns!)

In their specific events who is better? Alex @ croquet or Andy at eating?

Andy and you ever played cricket together? Who is better

WotR, today you posted on PHA, why are you posting useless drivel there and not answering the fans on here?

Also, your post implied that it was possible that there were 5 aces in one deck of cards. What made you say this?

I'll quote for reference

More importantly, why are we not 3-betting pre? Or, put simpler... 3-BET PRE!

Losing to just 1 combo of AA and 1 combo of QQ.... call.

when hero has AJ and the board is AQQxA

Thanks!

Would you rather be punched lightly in both bollocks or hard in one?

Would you spin a roulette wheel where 1-36 pays £25,000,000 but 0 means you die immediately?

Would you have sex with Mila Kunis if there was a i) 5%, ii)12.5%, iii)20% chance she would have a penis?

Hi Tom,

Isildur being heads up in the SCOOP $10k Main brought a few questions to my mind, and what better place to ask them, and who better to ask them to that your good self.

I know you are watching him play right now, perhaps you are even writing another article similar to the one above you wrote 12 months ago.

What do you think it is about Isildur that makes him a cut above the rest? Do you think he is THE best?

If you were to spend a weekend with him, what would you do and why?

It's a shame to see you haven't kept up with this diary. I know you had great plans for it. Perhaps your hero's great success today will inspire it's rebirth. I hope so.

Kind Regards,

Alex

I've seen one diary which only has one page. This diary has ten.. it starts really positively and then kinda tails away. WoteveR happened to WotR- seemed to have a real feel for Isildur's game as well
