Shout outs for those favourites please....

Can tikay do it?

Will bobalike be able to afford another personalised numberplate?

Is Chinese Frankie a ******?

Does Smokeynuts look like a vicar?

Will Ian Gascoigne win enough to give another shot in the arm to the DTD Cash game ecosystem?

Will bookiebasher be sober?

Join me later to find out.

The event's final 8 will be live streamed on www.dtdpoker.com

I am slated for commentary today

I need a volunteer tonight please, to watch the stream and record the key hands, hole cards included?

The pay is plentiful, the hours are short and the contract watertight.

If someone could help please, that would be great

thank you

Sidney is a butcher from the North East, orginially from Sarf London

Sidney works for Ravendale foods Ltd, superb Butchers

Joints of beef coming my way for that subtle product placement, I reckon

Meanwhile Ian Gascoigne raises inot tikay's big blind from UTG+1 with 2-2

flop 2-2-5

tikay manages not to bluff the river of a 2-2-5-J-J board with 9 high from the big blind despite Ian's attenpts to sigh often enough that tikay will take the bait!

I assume the alias is not named after Coventry City FC, which is pretty unlikely to rise Phoenix like from the ashes of their last season, too soon.

Craig Stewart raises the button

Tuan Le calls in the big blind

 8d Kd 3s

Le check shoves all in over a 15,000 c-bet

Call

Stewart  Ks  Ac

Le  Kh 3h

Le sits back with an expression of contentment

Stewart looks at Tuan like Wayne Bridge looked at John Terry at handshake time

turn  8c for the counterfeit

river  Td

Le is out

He gets up with a look of disgust , a shake of the head "I don't believe it" thinking its the worst bad beat ever, of course like many players conveniently forgetting his good fortune earlier in the hand

Prtetty strange stuff at table tikay

Mo Sadiq arrives at the table and tells them "I have to go"

He offers to move in blind and muck, not sure this was taken up!

He then proceeds to move in over every raise, doubles up a shortstack

He really needs to go home, in a miserable mood too

So tikay makes it 20,000 from 100,000

Sadiq all in no look

tikay call with  Ad Qd

Sadiq turns over  Qc 9h

 Ks 8h 6h Kh Th

Knocks tikay out

Sadiq couldn't look more miserable if he was Bastian Schweinsteiger at 10.30pm last night

the loser of the hand, tikay, is laughing and joking, wishing good luck to his erstwhile opponents

Three way all in

Board reads K-Q-3-J

Jamie Hollands checks

Joseph Cockburn is all in

Before Babak Naini has a chance to act Hollands, who is riled and agitated by speech play/verbals from people at the table not in the hand, is all in out of turn

saying "if someone has Ace-ten I will go mad"

so this more or less tells us his hand yes?

Naini now does something very odd

He calls both all ins for over 90% of his chips. With Q-10

Hollands does have 10-9 for the bottom straight

Cockburn A-K

The Queen river delivers the virtual treble up for Hollands, knocks out Cockburn and Naiini looks vacant. As vacant as he was a few seconds previously

Jamie Rutherford 30,000 UTG at 6-12k

Wadey calls in the big blind

Wadey check calls 50,000 on  4s 9s 7h

Wadey check calls 110,000 on  Kh

Wadey checks on  3s

Rutherford thinks and bets 150,000 with  Jc  Jd

Immediate call with  8s 6s by Wadey telling the youngster

"I almost put you all in on the flop. and the turn. and the river"

Adding to his woes, Rutherford is moved out of the next big blind to balance tables

Wadey 1.5m and running the show, as he tends to when confident, hitting boards and relaxed.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Rasta makes the November 9 this year...

Wadey raises to 45,000

Anonso defends the small

Jamie Rutherford defends the big

 6c 8c Th

Anonso checks

Rutherford 75,000

Wadey 175,000

Anonso all in 337,000

Rutherford folds A-10

Anonso goes to turn his cards over "oh well, I have a big draw"

Wadey "I haven't called yet"

think

Wadey "I am ahead then, but will it hold? I call"

Anonso   5c 7c

"That's what I thought you had"

(well Wadey he told you that....)

Wadey  9s 6s

turn  Td

Rutherford "oh no"

river  Ts

Rutherford faints (not really, it tells a good story though Anonso. Part of my art)

Thanks to Tighty and the Blonde support today. Had a torrid time out of position to Wadey with not much coming my way when down to the final 8.
Saying that, I did have my fair share of luck getting AA four times today and holding when getting low in chips. Lost KK to AA twice so that made up for it.

The only mistake I made over the 2 days was when I called Garys 3 bet shove. Didn't really want to call but I had roughly 2.2m and only another 400k to call.

I just hope Camel isn't too disappointed in me owning a private number plate. Thanks to Jase for outing me.

Oh well. Onwards and upwards.

Just re-reading some of those folds while stream is down and they really are shocking.
Ive seen this forum go crazy at people for alot less. Very confused!

Hopefully that means people have finally learnt that it's rude, pointless, obnoxious not to mention just a really dumb idea to flame people on how they play poker.

I agree Alex

Wadey and North play a hand blind on blind

10-K-A-A-J reads the board

Wadey a sneaky check on the river with Q-9

North gets his hands caught in the cookie jar betting 480,000 on the end and being called

blinds about to go 80-160,000

I do pick these events. The £150 last week was finished an hour ago

Tricky to pick a winner of this one though

The next blonde update is in a fortnight

Over four days we will bring you the WSOP Warm Up £500 Deepstack beginning on Friday 1th June

We will also update on both £500 WSOP Mega Sats that will produce 10 DTD Qualifiers for theis year's Main event. They are on Sunday and Monday 3rd-4th June

You can qualify for both on DTD over the next fortnight

That will be a cracking update of three events in one

Meanwhile there is another £150 £50,000 GTD next weekend. With few clashes that one will produce a bumper prize pool to accompany its fantastic structure

Satellites on that all week on DTD

Wiiiiiii wp Wadey amazing how the money seems to stop with the popular regs at Dtd.

First picture you can see him thinking "fml this is gonna cost me a fortune in treats and loans"

And the second one is "well this queue ain't too big, I'm pleased I switched my phone off now tho"

:) wp all the others, especially the outed Bobalike And Frankie. Great work by Tighty on his own again.

Just a side note would it be worth having a word with Rob about tighty being allowed in the room where they are doing the live stream from to allow him to update from there. It works ok with the help of top ten and girgy but just think to have tighty in there would be the nut option. As he is multi talented he could probably commentate and update at the same time.

I think Wadey's "Anyone else I call" remark has sparked a bit of controversy - rightly so, it could be interpreted as collusion, and if so, it's a serious issue that needs to be discussed.

However, I don't think there was any collusion involved. A remark like that could just mean "You've been the tightest player at the table, I'd call anyone else". FTR, I only watched the final from 3 handed so I don't know whether that's actually true and Gary had been playing tight, I'm just suggesting another possible reason for Wadeys comment.

Maybe Wadey had a read that Gary had a big hand, maybe he thought Gary would be a threat if he doubled him and didn't want to give it to him cheaply, maybe he wanted to preserve his big stack.

Another reason I don't think there was any collusion is the way Gary busted. Wadey raised K9 suited and Gary shoved QQ, Wadey called instantly (he wasn't "priced in" either, it was a larger shove than before when wadey folded A9). Wadey hit a King and fistpumped - he didn't seem to care about knocking his "buddy" out then.

I also don't even think Wadey and Gary are close mates anyway - I've never seen them hang out, they don't play in the same games either - just because they're regulars doesn't mean they're going to collude. The only link is Frankie and beause Frankie stakes Gary and Wadey and Frankie are good mates maybe there's something there but I just don't think there was any soft play. Wadey played hard and fast all tournament against everyone, one fold which was perhaps a call mathematically but by no means clear cut, is not enough to create an uproar imo. Just my 2cents.

Having been part of the final table with Wadey and Mark I can confirm there was def no collusion. Just because he gave up on a hand whilst stating "anyone else I call" means nothing in this situation.

Lol at anyone thinking Wadey would collude. If he had put his mum in the comp he would still knock her out. Wadey plays it straight, honest and with a little bit of greed and I like that. He is a good mate and when we play together he ain't giving anyone an easy ride. If he thinks he is good he will call you and take your chips no matter who you are. He uses the line "anyone else and i call" frequently and it's always when he thinks he is behind.

Can't wait for Chippyman to win one of the deepstacks coz it's gonna come soon, you heard it hear first :)

I spoke to both Gary (who I am good friends with) and Wadey (who I also speak to alot) after the final.

Wadey admitted that when he sat down at the final, he was most worried about Gaz. He definately didnt want to double him up. The biggest thing for me is what Alex mentioned about Gaz' exit. If Wadey and Gaz were actually colluding, why would Wadey absolutely snap his neck off with  Kh 9h? (please dont think Im exaggerating when I say snap his neck off, it was one of the quickest calls Iv ever seen lol).

End of discussion really imo

Post by: Killerkilsby on May 23, 2012, 02:33:58 PM
I really had thought it was end of.

However with regards to the snap more or less every chance North had he jammed it on Wadey, and had got himself back in the game, must of had enough. Not saying it's collusion although perhaps soft play in the first instant. North did not do anything wrong, however seemed to be jamming wider knowing the shoves were getting through (i'd do the same). Wadey whenever ive played always is aggressive and plays for the win.

Just found those two spots very strange especially the A9. If you dont want to double someone up then id rather call with A9 than K9.

My point is however if these folds were done by non-regs then they would of been crucified.

With regards the post stating that perhaps the forum now does not flame peoples play etc, that is almost laughable and again had it been a non-reg there would have been uproar.

Either way as far as im aware it happened and its done and dusted obviously i will not find anyone in agreement on here, however as its a public forum wanted to put out my opinions.

The thing is with Wadey is that his is aggressive and loves the win but that comes with an ego for sure like a lot of people. He perceived Gaz as his biggest threat but also one of the tighter players so really didn't want to take a punt with a marginal hand.

When he said "anyone else I call" that's just a defensive strategy his uses to save face. He's frustrated at the fact he's folded a better hand, never mind the fact that it's on camera. Nothing malice or corrupt behind it, just basically making himself feel better about the mistake.

Im backing killer here, regardless of what anyone says, if you ask a staker if he will be annoyed if you bust out his horse, which agree's to. then open fold A9  to a raise where you have a more than nice spot to call 3 handed....... you are soft playing!! 800k in to 6m with A9o wtf!?
Wadey button raises

North shove small blind

Wadey calls stable boss of North over. Chinese Frankie tells him he will fall out with him if he knocks his horse out

Wadey passes A-9 off "folding a good hand here" for about 800,000 of his 6m stack

North shows 9-8 suited

"anyone else I call" says Wadey

Should call anyway, don't care if he's local village or not Wadey,

caimbridgealex is posting that people shouldnt be flamin peoples play but how can you let an outsider of the game(chinese frankie) influence your play to make a major fold to the short stack 3handed with A9o
if a no one like me made that fold it's true that everyone would be slating my play and thinking i have some 'deal' going on! Reg's get away with a blind eye passed upon them

he called off in a worse spot with worse odds with K9 BUT RAISE FOLDS A9 ON THE BTN 3 HANDED FOR LESS THAN A 6TH OF HIS STACK TO EFFECTIVELY KO and PLAY HU with a player which i'm sure he feels he could play better against  :redcard:

I played the 150 for the first time yesterday. Despite busting 3 mins before the end of day 1b, I just wanted to congratulate DTD on a brilliant tournament; great structure, nicely timed (doesn't need to be longer than 30 min levels with those blinds and a 30k starting stack. If you are a lower limit player and want to give a bigger comp a go, this would be a great one to play, too.

GL to Steve the chip leader and to Ben. Get it done, boys

And I'm sorry I didn't get your real name, but I hope "the captain" is happy with his new nickname  ;D

If he didnt want to double up the guy why call with K9 and not A9.

well when you play with anyone for long enough and all their shoves are getting through on you, your mind will keep telling you he is doing this uberr light, and by that time K9s dont look so bad, plus if his read is right and north has junk there is no way the stable boss can say anything about that play, therefore he keeps everyone happy with a snap here!

Perhaps i worded that incorrectly,

What im saying is that on one hand people are stating he didn't call with A9 because he perceived the guy as his biggest threat, if that was indeed the case then WHY in fact snap with K9? Surely the theory is flawed?

Either way i thought it was done and dusted now, will go down as an inexplicable situation, for balance sake i would love to rewind and see how this would have turned out if regs weren' t involved.

Hey ho, whens the boat race is now the most important question.

my point is clearly a strong belief that the A9 hand was soft play!! does anyone even know how much he made it from the button to fold to an 800k shove!????

plus outsider's influencing players decision's in a childish manor of 'i will fall out with you if you take out my guy' is just terrible in my eyes.

no one knows how much he made it from the button to then fold to the 800k shove (A9) with a 6m stack
i'm just annoyed at the fact people dont think it's bad that he was influenced by someone else, who knows what would of happened if this chinese frankie said it would have been fine if he busted out his horse..

It's about not repeatedly accusing someone of cheating, on an open forum, when the evidence, such as it is, doesn't back that up.

Put yourself in the position of the people involved, and have a stab at how you would feel.

Ive just read back and havent repeatedly accused anyone of cheating, once i mentioned softplay with the first fold, secondary to the point, perhaps i'm trying to understand why A9s is not a snap call for 20% of a stack 3 handed but K9 is a snap for a larger amount, maybe it will help me develop.

Fair enought Tighty, perhaps that point was a little invalid and not well thought out. I still stand by the fact that i believe anyone non 'reg' making that fold to someone they knew would receive flaming.

@Killerkilsby

The % of your stacking your calling off is NOT the most important factor when deciding whether to call allins. The number of big blinds the shove is, is FAR more important. Wadey and other good players know this.

What if the blinds in that hand were 5k 10k, Wadey raised to 25k and Gary shoved for 800k, or 80 big blinds. Would you call then?

I know the blinds weren't 5k/10k, but the point is, you don't know what they were and it could've been a very large shove compared to the blinds, so the fact it was 20% of his stack would be irrelevant.

The K9 was much later on, maybe the blinds were massive and the shove was only 10 big blinds.

That is how one can be a fold, one can be a call.

You just don't have enough information to come to the conclusions you've come to.

Okay fair point? you are correct here.
Although i do seem to remember the situations were alot more extreme than your example but you acknowledge this and it was a good example to portray your view.
I think the first shove was for a low amount of bbs and the second one was similar.
Either way bbs are important.
However stack % does come into things slightly, as if they both had similar size stacks then that would influence the decision and probably make it a fold. However if you can take a potential flip with a hand that should be ahead of your opponents range 3 handed without damaging your stack too much then it has to be a consideration.
But good point.

i think if we all knew blind levels and how much he opened for, before folding to the shove we can make sense here.
im happy to see anyone lay down a big hand short handed. But it cannot be justified with influence of some one outside of play.

You're getting correlation and causality mixed up. Just because event A proceeds event B doesn't mean event B caused event A.

Frankie making that comment doesn't mean that it caused Wadey to do anything different to what he wouldve done anyway.

Should call anyway, don't care if he's local village or not - Wadey,

blinds will be 30k/60k
lets say standard open 2.2x
estimated 130k-ish
sitting with approx 13-15bb's vs an approx 100+bb stack

you telling me that isnt an influenced fold and portrayed to be soft/collusion?

as i said in my last post, i can accept anyone making a major fold short handed but with outside influence, that's a joke.

It's not like he has AK.

What if he had A6o would he "have to call" there? I don't think so. A9 is a call, but its not far off from being a fold. If A6 is a fold, then A9 isnt exactly "OMG wtf collusion"

dude you are just ignoring my point consistently.... im not happy with the fold purely because frankie says to him he will fall out with him if he knocks out his horse. so he makes the fold of a 13-15bb shove against his 100+ stack. if he was left to tank alone and made the fold NO PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that they have already said he wouldn't care about knocking Frankie's horse out and it's just coincidental that these two incidents happened at the same time.

Not everyone plays fundamentally correct and sometimes ppl make 'lol folds' or 'lol calls' just because they like the colour of the cards or they don't feel lucky at the time.

People who play live poker exclusively and aren't aware of the maths will play as they feel so pot odds, effective stacks will not come into it. Looking at it objectively I'm guessing that's what happened here. Just unfortunate that he had a hand which when sat on the outside looking in as an observer appears to be an easy call.

Have never sat there and precicesly said OMG wtf collusion. A6 suddenly becomes a little more marginal, but with the right image in a 3 handed game, then any ace is huge. Although i do agree you may not wish to double someone up, but at some point you have to take an all in and this would seem a perfect time to do so.

What i really want to know is how this would have been taken had the fold and speechplay been committed by say.. Paul Skipper to one of his associates?

I can say in my absolute honest opinion there would have been outrage on here, page after page of discussion and accusations would have made, undoubtably making worse comments than myself.

I am healthily debating a hand of interest to me here, and at no point am outright saying it WAS, collusion, just trying to add some balance now.

Regardless

People who play live poker exclusively and aren't aware of the maths will play as they feel so pot odds, effective stacks will not come into it. Looking at it objectively I'm guessing that's what happened here. Just unfortunate that he had a hand which when sat on the outside looking in as an observer appears to be an easy call.

Point taken.

I can say in my absolute honest opinion there would have been outrage on here, page after page of discussion and accusations would have made....

like this aftermath, you mean? ;-0

Maybe you're right, but haven't seen evidence of said outrage before here. The last "outrage" I can  remember was when Frankie folded Jacks in the Monte Carlo, so I think you're point about non-regs getting harsher treatment than regs is unfounded, since the only two incidents I can remember both involved regs.

situation was 15 left, had k10 on the cut off raised,  Simon  Flats, flop aa7 check check flop, turn brick fire and Simon Calls, river brick, fire simon calls, simon mucks and said "your King was Good" nothing major but for a not so good player it pleased me, and he has an amazing read on the game, feel he may be underestimated, he has a great table prescence but feel if he stayed of his phone he would have crushed this comp, busy man organising cash game for the Sunday night,
