Although it was your fault you were a named driver on her policy. If she doesn't declare it, it could cause bigger problems if she has to claim again as they would declare her new policy void leaving her uninsured. In theory it shouldn't affect her. Provided all the questions are answered truthfully on the proposal then I don't see an issue. If the questions are along the lines of 'have you or anyone on your policy had any claims' then she'd obviously have to declare it. Personally I try and intimidate them and in an attempt to make the person think it is their fault, as this never works I then say get a quote and I will sort you out with the cash.
