Today from 2pm, Day1b

30,000 chips, One hour clock, WSOP Blind structure

£150,000 Guaranteed

Late last night, Simon Trumper had this to say

"Unbelievable Value Alert

Day 1a of the £150,000 guaranteed, £500 buy in WSOP Warm Up with 30,000 chips, a 1 hour clock and the $10,000 WSOP Main Event structure got just 85 entries, to break even we need 248 entries tomorrow which equates to 215 uniques and 33 re entries or approx triple the uniques we had today, that means we currently have a £100,000 overlay !!!! Usually we get double the day 1a turnout, should this happen we will end up with a total of 255 giving us a shortfall of approx £35,000.

We also have the two 5 x £9000 WSOP packages guaranteed Sunday and Monday so if these drop in figures continue these could be the easiest Vegas packages ever won.

Tonights £100 Meg Sat in the club produced 11 £500 winners who have the option to play Day 1b of the Warm Up or one of the Mega Sats, the weekend ones will obviously just be for the WSOP package sats, we need 100 entries in each to break even, i predict a minimum 30 players shortfall in both.

On Monday i will be playing the Mega Sat, should i win a package i will play the $10,000 Main Event and the 50 players with the most visits to the club this year will each have 1% of me.

Hope some of you will make the effort to support the club this weekend.

Cheers

ACES "

Sharplea and Joobie will be updating for the rest of the weekend, please join them later if you can't get to the club to take advantage of likely great value.

Joobs and I have arrived - although Joobs is battling with her misbehaving laptop at the moment...

Currently 86 registered with just over 10 minutes to go until the start. Don't forget, late registration is until the end of Level 10 and at the moment, the value is massive!

Juse seen Colin Young scoop a nice 8k pot after betting a flush draw on Ahrt Kh 3d and hitting running 7s 7c, then getting paid off on the river by 2 opponents - Colin's 9h 7h easily good.

Rastafish is in the house - I can hear him from the bar!

114 entrants so far - still way off the 248 needed to hit the guarantee, get down here with £500, soooooooo much value!

The first player out is Paul Cohen.

He did a 30k stack in 2 hands, firstly folding A-Q (his word) on a A-6-8-6 board when David Gentry set him in. Gentry showed an Ace.

Next hand he got it all in with a massive OESD + FD on the turn, but missed.

127 in, 126 left.

Still over 100 short for the overlay and that means...

VALUE!

A Round with sharplea - Table 34

34   1   Gary Morgan - 28k
34   2   Peter Haslam - 30k
34   3   Sean Robertson - 25k
34   4   Mark Mccluskey - 31k
34   5   Alan Mcbride - 28k
34   6   Carl Fitzpatrick - 33k
34   7   Albert Sapiano - 27k
34   8   Ian Gascoigne - 34k
34   9   Colburn Tomlin - 34k

Hand 1 - Button Seat 1

McCluskey min-raises to 200 UTG. All bar McBride, Gascoigne and Morgan call!

Flop: Aspades 6d Jd

Checked to McCluskey who bets 450. Sapiano and Haslam the only callers.

Turn: 2c

Haslam check-raises McCluskey's 850 to 2175. McCluskey calls as Sapiano folds to the original 850.

River: 6c

Haslam bets 4625 and McCluskey quickly folds. Amazingly enough, Rastafish hasn't said a word yet!

Hand 2

McBride folds UTG. Fitzpatrick raises to 250 UTG+1. Everyone else calls, obviously. It's only a £500 comp after all! Oh, hold on, Gascoigne folded...

Flop: Qs Ahrt Th

All check!!

Turn: 5s

Checked round to Morgan who bets 450. Naturally, everyone calls. Except McCluskey!

River: 7h

Rasta finally speaks, cheekily saying "Can I nick it from here?" Nope Rasta, you can't cos Albert has bet 2300. Robertson calls only to see that Sapiano has rivered a set - 7c 7s

Hand 3

Blinds are now 100/200.

Albert limps. (I'll be CTRL+V this...)

Ian makes it 750. McCluskey and Albert call.

Flop: 4c 7c Ad

Albert bets 750. Gascoigne flicks the call in. McCluskey meekly check-folds.

Turn: Qh

Albert checks, Ian nonchalantly bets two greens and a black (2100). Albert folds faster than an Origami expert.

Hand 4

Albert limps (good old CTRL+V)

Morgan this time punishes the limper - 775 to go. Robertson calls and naturally Albert calls.

Flop: 6c 3c 8c

Morgan bets 1600, Robertson calls, Albert folds.

Turn: Qd

Morgan fires again - 3600. Robertson just calls!

River: 3h

Morgan empties the clip - 5k this time. Again, Robertson calls!

Morgan has Jh Jd but it's somehow not enough - Robertson surprisingly had Kc Ks!

Hand 5

It's Albert's big blind...so naturally Rasta, Robertson, McBride and Fitzpatrick all limp. Albert checks.

Flop: Aspades 7s 6d

Checked round to Robertson who bets 325 into a 1k pot...and everyone folds.

Hand 6

Folded to BTN Fitzpatrick, who limps. Albert makes up and Ian checks.

Flop: Tc Qh 4s

Albert donk-leads 500. It's easily enough, ldo.

Hand 7

Robertson limps. Yes, limps.

McCluskey makes it 525. Rasta pipes up with "oi, on my BB?!" and folds. McBride called and then Robertson obv calls.

Flop: Js 4d 7d

McCluskey bets 950 when checked to. It's enough, natch.

Hand 8

Albert can't limp this time - he's not here...

Robertson raises to 450. Morgan calls.

They check down a 9s 2c Ts 7c board and Robertson bets 700 on the Js river. Morgan makes a crying call and is shown 7s 6s for his troubles!

Rasta wasn't happy about Robertson raising with that on his SB! ;)

Hand 9

Folded to Rasta on the button who...folds?!

OK, so SB Morgan raises to 500 and BB Haslam calls.

Flop: 7c Jd 6h

Morgan check-calls 500 from Haslam. They then check the 9c turn and 2s river. Haslam's Tc 7s is good!

As I type this, Ali Mallu is at the cash desk re-entering. Andrew Symeou appears to have been the beneficiary...

Jamie Sykes just got a gift!

He bet 2k when checked to on a Th Td 8h board, only to see Robert Charlton (no, not that one) check-raise all in for 17,725.

Sykes wasn't happy, asking him "Did you bring enough money to rebuy? I did!" before calling with Jh Jd.

Obviously, Jamie's Nit Tendencies must precede him - Charlton only had 9h 9d!

Turn and river were the biggest of all bricks 2s and 4s respectively...Sykes now over 50k and Charlton hopefully heading for the cash desk!

Jamie Sykes thought he was going for thin value when he bet the river of a 2c 3d Qd 6d Ts board with 7d 7h. Unfortunately, it was a bit too thin, as Hamid Toghyan had Ahrt Qh and made the call.

A short-stacked Robert Baguley must have thought it was his lucky day when he looked down at Aces in the BB. His heart must have then sank as it was folded round to Richard Seatum in the SB. Luckily for Baguley, it was cooler time, as the 2 contrived to get it all in pre, with Seatum unluckily holding a nice pair of Cowboys. No outdraw on the 3c Qh 8d 6s 7s board and Baguley is back to starting stack.

Mark "Golden" McCluskey just got it all in with Kings against Sean Robertson's Aces.

I've called him golden because the flop came Q-K-Q. Easy game, especially when the Aces don't rebink.

Cue 5 minutes of Rastafish shouting "I told you the King was coming!"

Peejay fans unfortunately have to go and puke - he got it all in pre with Js Jh against Alex Clark's Ahrt Ks and Clark had walked away by the river of the Tc Ts Qd 5c Kh board, he had to be called back!

Think the great speech by Russell Crowe in Gladiator... "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North...."

As I try to creep past table 34 unnoticed I realise I have failed as I am met with "My name is Rastafish, I will win, I will teach you how to win! see..."

the flop has already been dealt  Aspades 8c  4d

his poor opponent already looks defeated and folds showing  Qs.

Rastafish assures me that it was pocket Q's and turns over  Ahrt  8s

Cue the remainder of the gladiator esq speech...

I make my excuses and exit stage left not before taking this pic

Robert Woodcock was short but doubled through when he shoved Jc 9c on the turn of a 5h 4h 8c 6s board. His opponent, Richard Whiteley, called with 6c 5c but the river was the 7h, giving Woodcock the higher straight.

Quinn - 34k after Jamie Sykes cold 4-bet with JACK and TWO only to see Quinn 5-bet with what I assume was a better hand.

Late reg is end of the break after level 10 we estimate that to be around 1.45am

LOADS of value to be had we've calculated the current overlay at approx 40k

Maria fans look away now, your hero is down to 20k after having to fold on the turn of a 8s 4c 2s 5c board, when CT Law raised her bet of 4200 to 19200.

Peejay fans unfortunately have to go and puke - he got it all in pre with Js Jh against Alex Clark's Ahrt Ks and Clark had walked away by the river of the Tc Ts Qd 5c Kh board, he had to be called back!

Stay at your seat ffs, hand should be declared dead.

Any chance of an update in Sean Quinn table 36 and James Williams (unsure) if possible! Seans birthday today lets hope he gets some run good!

Williams - look up, 25k according to the pic.

Quinn - 34k after Jamie Sykes cold 4-bet with JACK and TWO only to see Quinn 5-bet with what I assume was a better hand.

Sean Quinn is unbeatable at the moment, would have 5 bet with the same hand!

Maria had 12k, not 6k earlier #icantcountchipstoday

She now has a few more when she raised to 1700 pre and got 2 callers including Pete Wigglesworth. The flop came 7d 6d 4c and 6k from Maria was easily enough to get rid of the other two!

Dahe Liu just got a gift when Larry Mayes called his tournament life off with 5c 4s on a 7d 6c 6s Aspades board. Liu had 7s 7h having flopped the mutts nuts.

Gary Morgan is also out after he 4-bet shoved AK in the BB only to find Conor Beresford on the button with dem bullets.

Rasta just won a pot when he bet 1200 on the turn of a 2s Ks 8h 9s board, Renee Xie and Narendra Ruparel both calling. All 3 checked the 8d river and Rasta's Kc Ts was enough to take the 6k pot.

Ruparel then bled a few more chips when he paid off Alan McBride's 3k value bet with AT on a A-x-x-T-x board, Ruparel mucking.

David "david3103" Amos had to re-enter when he shoved his first stack with Ks Js on a 2 spade flop...unfortunately his opponent had Aspades 2s to kill all his outs. Since re-entering, he got a gift when Duncan Taylor raised to 1200 pre and Amos 3-bet to 4k. Taylor called and the two checked a Qd 7h Aspades flop, then again checked a Ks turn. Taylor bet 3k on the Ts river with Qh Th, but Amos had been lucky enough to see all 3 streets with Js Jd and had rivered the straight. He called and won the pot.

George Bedi is over starting stack.

He raised to 2400 with dem Kings after 2 limpers, who both called. He then shoved a 5-A-J flop and Nathan Lee called with K-Q, which missed on the 4 turn and 7 river.

George now on 40k - nice considering he had just under 5k an hour ago!

What does everybody think the rule is here:

Guy opens to 1100 at 250/500, I throw in 2 1k chips silently in the next seat. Is it a call or a raise?

RASTAFISH has just doubled up.

I got to the table as I spotted the man standing up with all of his betting discs in the middle. He'd shoved 7.5k over the top of a 2500 bet from Narendra Ruparel on a 5s Kh 8h 9s board. Ruparel called and was shown 7c 6d, the current nuts. It turned out Ruparel was actually drawing dead, as he had a surprising (well, to me) Kc 4d. The Js finished the board off but nobody cared by then!

What does everybody think the rule is here:

Guy opens to 1100 at 250/500, I throw in 2 1k chips silently in the next seat. Is it a call or a raise?

By the book its a raise but it usually goes as a call 'cos nobody knows you're allowed to raise to <2.2k

Nah, it's a call unless spoken.
Looks like you need 900 change, just announce it peeps.

only if its a single oversized chip, if it is multiple chiips its a raise

David "david3103" Amos had to re-enter when he shoved his first stack with Ks Js on a 2 spade flop...unfortunately his opponent had Aspades 2s to kill all his outs.

Who was his opponent?

I heard this hand from David himself - he didn't say who his opponent was.

Is it too much trouble for chip counts on his table? I understand if you're too busy atm tho.

He shoved his 7,250 stack with 5c 5s over 3 limpers on Rastafish's BB. Rastafish folded with a whimper but Mark McCluskey called with Ac 9s after everyone else had folded. McBride won the flip on the 6d 4h Jh Jc Kc board.

Narendra Ruparel is either going to win this or bust in the next 2 levels.

He just won a 50k pot when calling down Rastafish and Pete Haslam with Q-4os on a 3h Qd Td 7d 3c board. Haslam mucked and Rasta had J-10. The table laughed as apparently Ruparel likes hands with a 4 in them - a few times now I've seen him show down Q-4 and K-4!

Mark McCluskey has re-entered and has been seated in 36/1.

That would be to the direct left of Alex Goulder and BB to Jamie Sykes' cutoff.

Could be interesting...

Golden Boy Goulder has just doubled up.

He raised with Tens on the button and Suzanne Gilbert called in the SB.

They checked the K-Q-Q flop and Golden Boy bet 2k on the gin T turn. Suzanne called and then led 4.5k on the river. Goulder shipped and she was priced in to call.

Gilbert has since busted at the hands of Guy Webster.

the td gave a incorrect ruling according to dtd riules? u sure . most places if u put in more than 50% than a call its araise but i dont know there ruling. tbf they dont get many wrong

+1 unless the player sticks in a single chip which can be way in excess of 50% in which case it's a call.

The ruling must be right. The min raise here is to 1700 so how can 2 chips totalling 2000 not be a raise??

I did query this with Ryan, the TD involved.

He did state the TDA rules above but also confirmed that 2 different coloured chips or 2k with more than 2 chips would have been a raise. The reason given for the 2k in 2 green chips being a call was the same as above - take one out and it's less than a call.

Taken from the Official TDA Rules website...

http://www.pokertda.com/custom_posts/view-official-tda-rules/

39:   Multiple Chip Betting
When facing a bet, unless a raise is first declared, multiple same-denomination chips is a call if removing one chip leaves less than the call amount. Example of a call: preflop, blinds are 200-400: A raises to 1200 total (an 800 raise), B puts out two 1000 chips without declaring raise. This is just a call because removing one 1000 chip leaves less than the amount needed to call the 1200 bet. Placing mixed denomination chips in the pot is governed by the 50% standard in Rule 37.

Dealer ruled it as a raise, TD confirmed it should be a call.

Someone has OUT-FISHED the FISH!

Ruparel has been limping a LOT of hands - pretty much playing 95/0 in a £500 comp. Anyway, he limps UTG again and Rasta isolates to 3k. Renee Xie and Sean Robertson then call, and naturally Ruparel calls.

The flop is a drawtastic Jd Td 8d and Rasta, first to act, shoves 14.4k. Xie and Robertson fold. Ruparel....calls! On their backs we go....

Rasta: 9h 9c

Ruparel: 7h 6d!

Needless to say, the board naturally ran out 3c then the Ad - sending the fish to the rail after being out-fished!

Ruparel is awesome to watch, some of the hands people are getting into with him are unbelievable. Would make for a great final table if he can survive that long!

For example, the hand before the Rasta bust, he's limped and Bash Mahmood has isolated. Rasta calls behind knowing Ruparel is going to call and the three see a 8h 2s Th flop. Amazingly enough, the rest of the hand plays out as follows...

Ruparel - lead for 2200.
Bash - Raise to 8000
Rasta - fold
Ruparel - flat

Turn: 6s

Ruparel: check
Bash: Bet 11000
Ruparel: call

River: Kc

Both players check.

Hands at showdown?

Ruparel: 8d 5h

Bash: Tc 3c

I rest my case. Joobs had to come and literally pick my jaw up off the ground.

And miles behind Bash now after this gift...

Ruparel is OUT!

He raised to 2k and Bash 3-bet to 7k with Jh Jd. Ruparel then cold 4-bet with Ac 5d to 27k! Bash flats and they saw a 7d Qc 8h flop.

Ready for it?

Ruparel leads 30k, Bash makes it 80 and Ruparel calls it all off!!

No help on the turn or river and Bash has 300k.

Colin Young is out. He ran Queens into Jack Allen's Ace-Queen.

Jamie Sykes has just doubled up Neil Barron after they got it all in on the turn of a 9-7-6-Q board with Barron's AK against Sykes' KJ. The AK held on the 7 river.

Kelly Saxby doubled up when she binked the river of a A-6-8-6-Q board against Bharminder Maker's A-K, the two getting it all in preflop.

Rupinder Bedi continues on the rise, he's just KO'd Skullman (Gerald David)

Ruparel has doubled up again. He got it all in with 5c 3s on the turn of a 2c 3c 2h 8d board, with Leon Campbell holding Ahrt Jc. No help for Leon on the 4h river and Ruparel has 60k. Leon has scraps.

nice pot for George 2 L

I turn round just in time to see the turn being dealt

Board Ahrt 6d Qc 3c

George bets 2750

Nathan Lee in seat 3 shoves

George makes an easy call with Ad 3d

Nathan has Qs 6s

river is 3s

G2L is now on 180k

Apparently these two have been battling for a while

Nick Hicks is out and re-entered.

He shoved 17k over the top of a Frank Flanagan 3k raise and the obligatory Ruparel call, only this time Flanagan shoved behind and Ruparel passed.

Nick had Kc Jh and was in better shape than he probably thought as Flanagan had Ahrt Qh.

The Jd in the window was nice but the Qs was underneath and no more help for Nick sent him heading to the cash desk.

Just under 2 hours of late reg left

and we still have a 13k overlay

anyone fancying a shot at it get here quick

Blinds are 500/1000 ante 100  so you'll still have 30 BB's

Robert Boon is over 100k after eliminating Anon when Anon shoved over 7 limpers from the BB. Boon had limped Ac Qc UTG and was miles ahead until the 6h 8c 9s flop.

Thankfully, the turn was the Qs and that was enough for Boon to take the pot.

Bedi out, and it was sick.

Andy opened and Maurice Nicholson called before George shipped 25bb with Q-10. Andy then made it 100k with 9-9 and Maurice called all in.

The flop was Q high but the turn was a K and the river a brick...Maurice had K-6 to scoop!

Guy opens to 1100 at 250/500, I throw in 2 1k chips silently in the next seat. Is it a call or a raise?

By the book its a raise but it usually goes as a call 'cos nobody knows you're allowed to raise to <2.2k

i reckon this is a call by the book. only goes as a raise if you throw in chips of differing denominations, or more than the amount of chips of 1 given denomination than is the minimum to match the inital bet

Also confirmed is that Alex Goulder runs golden.

He just eliminated David Amos with 7-7 against Amos' T-T...the hard way, the board running out with 4 hearts and Goulder holding the 7h!

Sorry about that, felt a bit dirty, but we had a 3betting dynamic believe it or not and I felt it was too strong to fold.

It happens - it was fun till then though. had  3s 5c thie first time we tangled, flop had a 3 and I think I was 'bluffing with the best hand'?
Others were stronger, sometimes.
Since Bedi's out I guess I better funk for you, not that you need it.

GL

3s 5c ?!?! I should've raised preflop. Oh wait...

Chipleader, and newbie blonde, AndySymeou with 475k (ish) after KO'ing Abhishek Khaitan with 3-3 on a K-3-2hh board. Khaitan had QJhh which improved on the 10c turn but no good with the 7x river!

Andy reminds me as a mixture of Bruno Mars and Dario Mineri :-)

Bedi out, and it was sick.

Andy opened and Maurice Nicholson called before George shipped 25bb with Q-10. Andy then made it 100k with 9-9 and Maurice called all in.

The flop was Q high but the turn was a K and the river a brick...Maurice had K-6 to scoop!

Super 50? :D
