Swwetman,Lint, Amos and Malik have CPP Golden chips and need to finish top 8 to scoop a Caribbean Package

Amos finalled Grand Prix VI, too so is going for back to back final finishes

Blinds are 40-80k I believe and David is straightinto the big blind, so the first level is very crucial for him.

Good luck all blondes.

Too many heros for just one day. David and Ben for top 8, PJ to get out of makeup and get Alex a morale boost...... But more than anything George, Terry and Rastafish 3 handed on the live stream would just be nuts

Best of luck to G2L today would be great to see him take this down.

It's George & Shelley's sixth wedding anniversary today.. would  be nice to take this one down as an extra special anniversary present!Shelley is here railing, David Amos has his daughter here supporting him and PeeJay has the eclectic mix of Sean Belton and Pete Linton.  I may well stand with them two to present the tallest railers ever.

Blinds 40K/80K, 10K ante and we're off..

GL to all Blondes!

Action!!

Riaz Malik raises to 250K with AK, the Rasta pops him up to half a million, Riaz happily ships all in.

Rasta even more happily makes the call with the bullets.

Aces hold and Riaz is out in 11th place, first hand of the day.

Boom!

David gets a double..

Ships his 510K in on the SB with the mighty Q 8, gets the call from the BB with 4 6. Queen high is good enough and he lives to fight another battle of the blinds.

Just two Golden Chips now left in play, David Amos and Mark Lint.

Mark Lint is a local Gala player.

Poker obviously, not Gala Bingo.  He prefers Mecca.

Totally nice guy, would probably be the first to admit he plays for fun, but I think he's finding the length of the comp a little tiring.

He's on the big blind on his five handed table.

Dealer asks for his BB as he starts to deal, and has dealt the cards, followed by an insta all in shove from short stack Mistry, before Mark has managed to figure out which chips he needs to put in for his blinds.

He's still counting it out when the dealer points out there is a player all in. Mistry is sat directly to Mark's left, with his stack clearly over the line and he says "Oh, someone's all in?"

He then open folded an Ace, which makes me think Mark has already packed his mankini for the Caribbean in his head.

Rasta fish and Gaz Howard in the blinds.

They see a flop of

6d Jc 6c

Gaz bets 240K, Rasta calls.

Turn As

Gaz bets 430K. Rasta thinks a little longer, then calls.

River is 7c

Gaz makes a bet of 1.3 million... Rasta calls with little hesitation.

Gaz declares "just a Jack"

Rasta flips over Kc Qc for the flush and takes down a big big pot.

Double whammy!

We lose two players, one each table at the same time!

Mistry gets it in with pocket 5s and gets a call from PeeJay with As Js

Board runs out

7c 2c 9s     10s      8h

Peejay binks the river to send Dipesh Mistry home!

On the other table, Rasta raises it up with pocket tens, Gaz Howard ships 1.6M with A6 but fails to hit after Rasta calls. Tens hold and we are down to the final table!

A short break and we will be back with photos of the eight remaining players, plus chip counts.

Blondes still in are David Amos, still tightly holding his Golden Chip with a big grin on his face - this is his SECOND Golden Chip win, meaning he now has a massive TWO packages to the Caribbean, courtesy of DTD. Peejay, rastafish, George2Loose are also flying the flag for Blonde.

Mark Lint and Ben Sweetman have also qualified for a 6K Caribbean Poker Package simply by getting to the final table while holding a Golden Chip.

Quick chat with Keith Jones, who asn't really featured in many hands, but he says himself, he got chipped up early on and apart from a couple of decent hands late on yesterday, he hasn't had a card to play with, and when he does someone generally has made the move before him.

Keith was a pretty regular DTD player last year, but has been having a break. Nice to make your comeback on the Grand Prix Final table!

Loads of faces on the rail, Jakally is here looking buff in his tight t-shirts, trying to keep up with the kids. Maria Chili is on the vodka, and has overtaken the kids there already.

The kids include Sean Belton and Alex Goulder, the latter disturbingly playing "Shag, Marry or Kill" with the remaining 8 MALE players.

So Jason, when you said Alex was single, you didn't actually mention which side he batted for?

Wadey & Chippyman are here - it really isn't going to be a quiet day.

Jakally was asked but apparently he's busy, donating in the Super 50 in half an hour.

Alex G won't do it without someone to hold his hand, so we're going to see if there's anyone hanging round the Gents for him.

First real peice of action.

Ben Sweetman raises UTG.

Keith Jones wakes up with his first hand of the day and makes it 700K.

Action on to Paul Jenkinson, who announces "ALL IN"!!

Back to Ben who makes the call, which puts him all in as well, for 1.7M total.

Keith puts his head in his hands, obviously put in a very tough spot.

He eventually folds, and PeeJay flips over Aces, unsurprisingly, with Ben Sweetman holding pocket Queens.

Despite Pete Linton's cries of Ace! Ace! the dealer straight away puts a queen out which holds for Ben to keep him in the game.

Keith Jones had pocket tens, so losing just 700K there is about the best result he could have hoped for.

Keith Jones is crippled by PeeJay after he opens with Ace Jack, and calls PeeJay's shove with Ah Kh.

Flop runs out

4h 3h 4c

Pete once again starts to shout for the heart. After calling for an ace last time and pulling the Queen out, Peejay seems dubious about the railing powers of Linton, and sure enough, no heart on the turn or the river.

However, no Jack either as it finishes rag rag and Peejay is back on close to 3million.

PeeJay has discreetly asked Pete to shout for his opponent next time, to see if he can bok them instead.

Mark has A 10.

Terry has QQ

George raises to 325K UTG, targetting Rasta's Big blind again.

Folds round to the Fish who turns and looks at George and laughs. He then looks at his cards and after a few minutes thought, makes the call.

The flop is 9s 4h 6c

Rasta check calls George's bet of 225K.

Turn 3d and George decides discretion is the better part of valour here, checking down after Rasta does.

No action on the river, the 10c and rasta shows pocket eights to take the pot.

George all in on PeeJay's big blind for 1.8.

Blinds 100K/200K.

Peejay looks at his cards and thinks.

Rubs his arm. Scratches his leg. Rubs his nose. Looks at me - not sure what he thinks I can do to help. Scratches his head. Looks at the clock.

Eventually he says "i know it's only eight big blinds but that's pretty big in this comp"

George is visibly sweating by this time, but eventually Peejay flicks his hand into the muck.

George insta mucks and whips his chips back in case Peejay changes his mind.

We have lost a player!

George Bedi gets it in with K10, snapped off by Terry Fletcher holding AQ.

Board runs out 4 3 3 4 2 and George;s final table ends here.

Rupinder George Bedi takes home £3,912, still a decent anniversary present for him and Shelley.

Well played George, got very unlucky when getting it in good previously which, if he'd held, definitely could have seen him go on to take this down.

Rasta makes it 500K, 2.5 x Big blind and it folds round to Terry who makes a forward motion as if to grab his chips, then throws his cards in exposing a duece.

Rasta slams his Aces face up and says "I thought you was gonna do it! I was waiting for you"

He has to have had aces, and more importantly, aces that have held, at least ten times over the past two days, MBN.

Last hand going into the break and we lose another player!

Tom Sweetman and Paul Jenkinson heads up again after Tom shoves and PeeJay calls.

Tom turns over pocket fours.

Peejay goes to turn his hand over but it lands face down over the line, with everyone shouting "No, don't fold 'em"

Dealer picks them up to turn them over and also drops them face down - the signs are not looking good for this hand!

Eventually we get to see Peejay has Ad Qd. It's a race... until the board runs out

7d 3d 6d ks 10d

Nut flush for PeeJay and Tom takes home £5,477

Chippyman shouting "Laddddeeerrrrr"  all across the card room. Five players now left and we're on a break.

I've played with him and watched him play many times now and he is definitely much more of a nit than people realise! Because he's so loud - and lucky - people assume he's loose, either way he is a very decent guy. The Grand Prix is the only title he hasn't taken down here at DTD, this could change today!

He calls PJ's min raise and they both check down a board of

Hmm don't know if I can divulge Alex or Maria's picks, but they did run something in line with my own.

I invented a new category especially for Peejay, titled "Punish", but can say Rasta scored highly in the "Kill" category.

PeeJay folds even faster than Rasta called.

David has pocket jacks, Rasta has Ac Kc

Ace in the window and David Amos is out in 4th place for £7,824.

Well played David, great result again!

Terry left on the big blind with nothing more than a bowl of rice.

Mark Lint raises it up with K9, terry happy enough with pocket fives there.

Board runs out dry til a nine on the turn to take Terry out of the game.

Terry Fletcher takes home £10,171 in fourth place. Well played.

And then there were three...

PeeJay and Rasta fish with all of the chips and all of the game. Mark Lint plodding happily along in his biggest result so far and more than happy to have made top three, particularly with his Golden Chip Caribbean package securely won.

Interestingly it's also Peejay's biggest cash to date. He has definitely got the game but so far hasn't had the score: all changed now!

Heads Up!

Mark Lint makes it 700K, from his stack of under 5M.

Rasta calls.

Flop 5d Ad 6d

Rasta checks and Mark bets 1M, leaving himself about 3M behind.

Rasta announces allin.

Long long tank from Mark who eventually says

"Well if you have the ace you win"

Rasta incredulously says "You don't have an ace? what have you got then?"

Mark flips over two black Kings to be greeted with a yell of "YES THE MAN, YES THE FISH, HE DONT HAVE AN ACE!!"

Rasta has Ac 9c, no one is drawing to a flush, and rasta's ace takes Mark Lint out.

Mark finishes in third place, for £12,518 AND a £5K Caribbean package, plus a cheeky rubdown from Fish telling him he should never have made that call there, as he leaves the table.

We are now Heads Up - Rasta Fish vs Paul "PeeJay" Jenkinson, both popular locals with their own railers on hand to keep it noisy.

Short break and we're back.

Rasta and Peejay are seeing a few flops, rather than too much heavy betting pre.

Nothing too exciting going on as yet, apart from Rasta trying to needle PeeJay, telling him he's done well but now's the time to give it up to the Fish.

Peejay looks unconvinced.

Rasta Fish "Gets lucky" again eh?

Pure nit. Nothing lucky bout the Fish, he always has it and if he hasn't, he can fold it.

He often has it, more than often, but his speechplay/image is brilliant. Peokle think he's at it, so he gets paid

Yes he runs well, but the cultivation of the image/speechplay is superb, imo

RastaFish makes it 1.8M after PJ raises from the SB.

PJ 4 bets, Rasta announces all in, and Pj calls after a moment's hesitation.

PJ turns over As Ks and Rasta shouts that he's in front, turning over pocket nines.

Flop is Jh 8d Qs  PJ's railers start to shout in the ten..

Turn Qh

River... 10h as requested by the rail, to give PJ the straight.

Can he win flips...

PeeJay now chip daddy with 20M, leaving Rasta with just 8m, wounded and very dangerous.

Both players see a flop of 10c Js Jc

PJ bets 400K, called by Rasta.

Turn 9c

PJ makes it 1M, Rasta calls

River Qh

PJ makes it 1.8M

Rasta thinks for a while and makes it 4M.

PJ looks at him, rasta says "bye bye" and PJ can't fold fast enough.

Rasta shows J 10

Cue the unleashed full on Rasta at his best, or worst, depending on how you view speech play.

Here's a quick sum up of the last eight or nine minutes where Rasta Fish has talked, and talked and talked.

"When the Fish starts to talk you are in trouble. When the Fish starts to talk, someone dies" repeated four or five times, in a deep voice stolen straight from the Lilt ads.

Cue accent change to sarf London "You are in deep trouble whipper snapper. You know whipper snappers? You are in trouble now boy, you are in trouble snapper whipper. When I start to talk, someone dies, and as there is only you here, you are in trouble."

"Give him headphones!" (Welsh accent now) "You have the wrong face for the game!"

Jamaican again "Your face has tails all over it boy! Full of tails! Tails in your eyes, tails in your nose, tails in your mouth"

Railer :" Tails?  Oh, tells.. right."

PJ's rail - "Let your chips do the talking PJ"

Rasta "Yeh let his chips do the talking, then let him do the walking! "

This is non stop, until finally they both get it all in again, but both with AK, chop chop and Rasta Fish forgets his train of thought and quietens down.

At the moment he's doing a good impression of a Tibetan monk after taking a vow of silence.

It's all deathly quiet, PeeJay has taken to turning away from the table with his back to rasta inbetween deals, which I think has thrown Rasta a little. PeeJay is managing to totally ignore his chat, without looking flustered, or without seeming bothered. His whole attitude says "not interested" and Rasta is possibly unused to this total loack of reaction, particularly from someone still wet behind the ears.

Rasta raises, PJ all in. Rasta folds

Rasta raises, PJ all in, Rasta folds.

PJ raises, Rasta all in, PJ folds.

Since RastaFish stopped chirping, he's been steadily chipping away at PJ's stack, either pre or on the flop to take back the chip lead. Pretty fascinating to watch them both: When rasta realised he couldn't tilt PeeJay with his chat, he simply stopped using it and changed his mode of attack.

Peejay is a really calm and collected player, certainly on the outside he seems totally unruffled and unfazed by the Fish's aggression.

Apologies if this is out of time with the live feed but the clock was stopped to give the players a short break.

PJ raises.

Rasta announces all in

PJ grimaces but makes the call, turning over pocket tens.

Rasta has As 9c.

First card out is the 10s   followed by the As then the 4s

PJ has a set but a spade makes a flush for the Fish.

Turn 6c

River Qc

No help!

PJ doubles to 18.4M, Rasta back down to 10M.

Rasta lets PJ get to a river then makes a chunky bet to take it down.

Rasta raises pre and PJ folds.

PJ makes up the small blind, Rasta announces all in, PJ folds.

Slowly chipping away again.

PJ and Rasta see a flop of Qc Qhh 2c

PJ bets 500K and Rasta calls

Turn is the 5h

PJ checks, Rasta thinks and bets 1M, PJ thinks and then calls.

River is the Js

Pj checks again.

Rasta picks up his chips and slowly counts out 3M, placing it carefully over the line

PJ thinks for ages. He eventually counts out 3M, and two or three times goes to put it over the line but stops himself each time. Eventually he asks Rasta if he has good hand, but gets no reply. "Not talking any more?" PJ asks.

"You're all going to laugh at me if I make this call" he says.

Eventually, after playing with his cips for ages he folds.

Rasta stands up and says "You're a good player son, you just saved yourself 3 million. All your rail thought I had nothing, I have the nuts"

He turns over Q2. Not strictly the nuts, but good enough.

someone needs to explain to rastafish what 'the nuts' means ;)

Hope PJ takes this down. It may help him get results with all the talking, but personally I think he pushes into 'classless' territory a bit too much (like celebrating loudly yesterday busting a player) and he can be disruptive to other tables around where he is playing.

I'm sure it helps his results because it would tilt many, but so would constant farting and I don't see too many taking that approach...

To be honest I seem to often sit at table with people who constantly fart or have breath that smells like farts, so I beg to differ. It certainly tilts me.

VWD to Peeej (and Alex!). Seemed to play very, very good for the whole of the final, and, for a young guy, his temperament is rock solid.
No surprise to see George knocking on the door again - just needs a bit of luck at the right time, and always like to see The Fish have a good result.

Real feel-good atmosphere @ DTD last night. Everyone pretty made up for the boys.

Enjoyed the Cougar updates, as always, although she did seem to be hanging around DTD for a while after she had finished -I'm sure it couldn't be related to a group of young boys getting on the beer...

Sorry if the rail was a bit ott Ben! We were all cheering on the locals / mates and some of us had big financial incentives so apologies if we celebrated too hard when you lost the AT<KT hand and your bust out hand too.

Congratulations Peejay, a well deserved winner.

Was truly a pleasure playing the event over the 3 days, had a lot of fun and also my biggest live cash too.

Thanks to Caroline too, excellent updates, despite forgetting my first name :)

WP Ben - see you in St Kitts.

Alex, the rail did get noisy and it was all in good spirits, but to have a bunch of people standing around calling in your opponent's cards from the start of Day 3 got pretty tiresome.

Ben didb't do any sort of dance or celebration when he binked the Q vs Peejay's AA and didn't deserve to have a bunch of drunks sitting behind him celebrating when it went the other way.

HU between two locals, especially when one of them was the noisiest man in the club was always going to be noisy. It also had a lot more of the feel of being good-natured banter.
Earlier didn't feel that way.

If it were me and I was playing in a foreign country vs a local, I'd totally expect to have my opponents cards cheered in and celebrate my opponents doubling up through me. I wouldn't mind at all, because it'd be the other way around in DTD for me.

We're not celebrating someone has bust, we celebrating our friend has doubled up or won a key pot.

It's a good job you have never had Celtic on your rail then as he calls in your opponents cards!!

Lol. He must feel a right pollock when they come in and have to see the pain on his mates face if he busts. Sooo funny for Vinny to do this tho :)

Don't be bitter....

Hi Alex.

I had absolutely no problem with the cheering on Sunday mate, totally understand you getting behind your mate and "horse", so there's no hard feelings harboured here.

To be honest I'd rather the final table of a poker tournament had banter from the rail than conclude in silence with no real buzz.

Also, I'm pretty sure that all of the players and DTD regs I saw on Peejay's rail would have remained as classy as Peejay was in the KT>AT hand and as I was in the QQ<AA hand if they were "at the table".  Thats the important thing to me, I really abhor over-celebrating and berating other's play by players at the table.

Ben is it true you're investing your winnings in a new charity designed to get the new drug Cake off the streets?
