"Tighty, Albert's all in again" I look up and drag myself to the middle tier, where indeed Albert is all in The table is half laughing and half chuntering Anthony Nicholls tells me the story "Albert limps" I think this might be a repeat on Dave, I have seen this episode before " I make it 3500 as he has called every time I have made it 1500,2000" Peter wigglesworth chirps in "Albert hasn't folded a hand since he got some chips" Story checks out. Gotta love Albert Nicholls continues "So I make it 3500. He calls" He points at Justin Devonport "Albert calls" the flop is Qh 6d 2d "Albert checks, I make it 6,000" continues Nicholls like a Jackanory host on LSD, that agitated he is "he calls and Albert moves all in!!" I let it sink in, and wait for Anthony to catch breath "So I pass A-Q" "He calls (Devonport) with K-K" I look down at Albert who is sheepishly guarding 2h 2c for flopped bottom set Td on the turn is interesting as Devonport has the Kd river Js Albert Sapiano knocks Justin Devonport out Albert now has 240,000 in Level 3. This would have been enough to give him the chip lead at the end of yesterday! Ian is delighted Tom less so. "massive fish" he says to Ian and then unprompted rants in my direction "there was four to the flush and straight on the turn and he raised with a pair of threes an underpair to the board" Ian leans back, mentally smoking an enormous Humidor and comments "I was representing it, obviously" Tom continues "he then rivers a three to beat my top pair and nut flush draw" "Fish" he repeats emphatically, this time smiling Ian takes another mental puff, and sits back as if he has received a bounteous compliment Title: Re: DTD October £500 Deepstack £100,000 GTD: Day1B Post by: Tal on October 05, 2012, 07:53:57 PM Nice one, Tighty. Well its a pretty limited re-entry. If you play today, you've no option of re-entering, so its not as if any deep pocketed players can throw four buy ins at it... So, no I think its a combination of recession/bankrolls and (with hindsight) an error in making the day ones thurs/fri I know the word from Simon was that players were asking for an hour clock, but there appears to be no discernible evidence that those players have turned up in numbers to support that. DTD has been here before! In fact I might argue that having to play for three days to cash puts off as many as it attracts... All thoughts welcome. I reckon that helped numbers Ralph Do you not think that some players are put off by the fact that all of the best players are effectively having two shots at getting a stack ergo making the tourney even more -EV for the recreational wagon? My personal view is single re entry is fine. Would rather allow them to pump the prize pool if they want to as it effectively gives me better value for my single entry. I dont mind one re entry same day but dont like multiple re entry as that starts to feel a little un fair. The guys earlier flicking in 500 blind each to get a stack isnt right IMO. Firstly no day 1 on Saturday and secondly don't fancy playing for 3 days. Having an hour clock is not necessary IMO, the 40min levels are plenty good enough. Title: Re: DTD October £500 Deepstack £100,000 GTD: Day1B Post by: TightEnd on October 05, 2012, 11:01:50 PM Dreenie Nutt opens and Marty Frey calls
Dreenie pots it on the 10-4-K rainbow flop Big bet on the Q turn Shove the rest on the 8 river No flushes possible Frey calls with K-J off He is good and Dreenie mucks/stands up/shakes her heads/guffaws simultaneously I think she was hoping to push Frey off his hand. Good luck with that. He's doing well. Very well Has north of 150,000 at 400-800 with about 80 minutes left to play I have disturbing news though. News that probably explains much for members of both the Gambling Network and blonde poker forums He is reading the Daily Mail. Has been all day. He is stuck on the "Femail" Page, reading an article about how many marriages fall apart as the male partner prefers to play golf than have sex (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LgtSqO5N-sM/UG9XFDAZ4CI/AAAAAAAAcbM/9Fp1DUQuXxI/s720/IMG_1772.JPG) Aaron is about 19 years old, and looks 15.
