Title: Prague Poker Festival - Sold Out Again
Post by: stato_1 on October 24, 2012, 05:32:36 PM
Selling 45% to the 2 biggest events at the Prague Poker Festival this year.

My name is Andrew Hulme and I'm a professional MTT Player, online and sometimes live.

Usernames for your perusal are here:
Pokerstars - stato_1
Pokerstars.fr - LeStatMan.TE
Winamax.fr - LeStatman.TE
Bwin (Ongame)- IanGascoigne
PokerEncore (iPoker) - OMGDaveNisbet
888 - DaveNisbet
GCasino (iPoker) - InDianaJonez

Notable scores this year include:
Won Sunday 500 on stars.com for $58k
Won Big55 on stars.com for $19k
2nd in GPS Online leg for £16k
2nd in Poker770 (live) for £21k
4th in DTD Deepstack for £14k

Im Selling 45% of my total cashes in EPT Prague and WPT Prague this December at a mark-up of 1.25

With the poker festival in Prague becoming bigger every year I expect these will be pretty big fields with plenty of recreational players. (I didnt play either of these events last year but there were plenty of people around in General with plenty of money and little clue about poker). Whilst there are plenty of distractions on the social scene in Prague, I have a professional approach to my work and won't be going out the night before a day's play etc.

EPT Prague is 5300 Euros
WPT Prague is 3300 euros

Total Package is valued at 10750 euros. Selling 45% total so:

1% = 107.50E / $139.17 / £86.91  (xe.com)

Will take Stars $ or bank transfer.

Flame away

Hopefully they'll be a live stream for the scrabble - could be a sick rail if our hero makes a deep run!

Reckon you have to include a 1% Dave Nisbet free roll for royalties and naming rights.

Can't believe you use the Father's name in vain (Ongame Screenname).

Reckon you should give him a 0.1% freeroll for royalties!

Playing day 1a today. Due to a run in the 888 bounty comp I couldn't play the scrabble so no freeroll there. However wpt are running a promotion where anyone who busts 1a can play a freeroll on 1b, with 1/11 getting a seat back into the WPT main on day 1c, so an extra 300 euros of equity there!

Well, the good news is we get to realise our freeroll equity...

Hands of note:

Open KTdd utg+1 t0 500 at 100/200/25, utg+2 calls, thinking hes raised as he didnt see my action, btn and bb call. Flop J96ccd. I check, utg+1 still thinks im not even in the pot and bets 1300, i check raise to 3400 he calls. Turn 7d i bet 6100 he calls, river 8s, I bet 10400 he folds.

3b AA utg+2 and bet, bet, bet on K5266, he folds to 6k river bet.

Up to 46k then:

Decent 600 UTG at 150/300, fish flats, me 1900 on btn w/KJo, only fish calls.

Flop QT6hh. Fish leads 1900, raise to 5100, he calls. Turn 7h, check, we bet 7900, he snap raises to 15k (goes as 15.8) we fold.

900 with A2o in CO at 200/400/50, spazzy guy peels sb. Flop AJ3r ch/ch. Turn 7fd ch, bet 700, he raises to 2100, call. River 5o he bets 5600 we call and lose to 33. (Bet the turn to get him to spaz, but then tanked for quite a long time on river as he bet bigger than i expected... probably shouldve folded here)

Left with 22k at 250/500/50, aggro young btn opens 1250 (already seen him showdown T8o in 3b pot, then 3b/snap fold hand immediately after), 3bet 2750 from bb with AKhh, he piles covering and we lose to 88.

Will be grinding freeroll hard tomorrow, and we still have the EPT to get out!

Freeroll report:

Couldn't find a taxi for about 30 minutes so turned up in level 2. Was hyper turbo-ey anyway and sat down with 5k utg at 100/200

Hand 1: Open KK 500, btn flats covering. SB shoves A8o for 4100. I Jam, btn overcalls KJo. Axxxx down to 1800
Hand 2: Btn opens, fold T6o
Hand 3: UTG opens, fold JTo
Hand 4: Jam 1800 with Q9s unopened on BTN, bb calls A9. GG

Sorry, EPT next week

TR: Only played 2 real hands of note on pretty tough table

Hand 1: Ignat Liviu (0human0) opens HJ to 350, i 3bet AKcc to 900 from CO he peels

Flop: K84 rainbow, 1 club. Check, I bet 700, he raises 2500, I call
Turn: Jo he bets 5500, I Call (Think I should prob fold here)
River: 7o he bets 16k, I have 20k total, I fold

Hand 2: Get in 18k BTN vs BB with AKs vs QQ at 150/300/25 runs out KxxQx

Sorry we got literally no sweat, pretty disappointed but not really a massive amount I could have done, flip better?

thoughts on flatting the AKcc pre vs him if you think he's gonna put you in tons of hell postflop? Something you'd consider anyway surely in level 1/2?

I see what you are saying but:
1) I had no reason to believe he was going to put me in tons of hell postflop other than him having a rep for being a bit of a sicko. Hadn't really actually done anything out of line

2) If I did think he was going to put me in tough spots post this is more of an argument for 3betting than against, better to keep the SPR smaller were I to assume that he's going to have an edge on me which...

3) In a 3bet pot in position with AKcc and the initiative vs his far weaker range, it doesn't really matter how much better a postflop player than me he is. It's always going to be a good situation for me long term.
