Day1b begins at 2pm

The doors open at 1.30pm

There are already 124 registered and in some quarters there are expectations of 400+ today, which of course would mean a smashed £150,000 GTE as DTD starts the New Year off with a bang.

I'll get my reward for doing this in the next life I reckon

Anyway, join me then and if you are coming and are not bought in already either get here early or buy in online through the DTD shop. Much less hassle.

No excuses now for the prevaricators

If you are considering it, let Nicola sway your thoughts

Walk through the front door, and be met with this smile

the doors opened, and a phalanx of legs rushed to the cash desk

177 entered now, and a queue out of the door

In updating speak, today is going to be absurd.

Andrew Murphy limps in Level 1 with 8-8

Peter Lody limps with 2-2

Liam Batey makes it 475 with 10-10

In the small blind James Tomlin calls with 7-7

Both the limpers call

flop 2-8-8

Everyone checks to Batey who c-bets 1,500

Tomlin calls

Quads finds a call

The full House and Mr Lody makes it 4500

Batey folds...

Tomlin folds....

Mr Murphy calls

turn....7!

Murphy checks

Lody 5,500

Murphy 11,000

Lody shoves

Quads calls. Brave, but sometimes you just have to take a chance

river....10!

Murphy knocks out Lody and more than doubles up

Any chance of an update on Ceri Rees please Tighty? There's certainly never a dull moment when he's about. He had the table in stitches last night :D

Sterling effort again on the updates as usual!

Hello, he's in still! From two tables distance he looks to have 35-40k

All bar three tables in the room are in use, still 50 on the waiting list....bonkers atmosphere. If you fancy a dealing gig for the evening, get to DTD!

James Clarke limps at 150-300 ra 25

Liam Batey raises in the cut off

Ben Vinson 3 bets in the big blind

Batey 4 bets

Vinson 5 bets

Batey 6 bet shoves for 21,000 total

Vinson can't have a hand a lot of the time I suppose

He calls

Batey J-10!

Vinson Q-Q

Queens hold and Batey is out again

If you go into the comp now you go in with 75xbb and a playable stack

74 reserves at 6pm!

Gerard Barclay opens to 1125 UTG at 250-500 with 9-9

Tom Walster three bets the cut off to 2900 with 4-5 of clubs

Barclay calls

2-3-5 flop, one club

Barclay check calls 3,600

turn Queen of clubs

Barclay check calls 7,200 against the flopped pair and straight draw, turned flush draw

river is a red king

Barclay checks for a third time

Walster shoves 30,000

Barclay is playing 45,000

He calls, after a big think, and knocks Walster out

Walster rises, and as he passes tells me "shouldn't have shown him that bluff earlier. I always do it and never should"

Mad Turk entered the tournament one hand before the break

He opened J-10 hearts

two callers including Sinem Melin

flop Q-10-4 two clubs

Melin check calls 2500, the only caller

turn 6 offsuit Melin check calls 4500

river 8

Melin leads for 10,000. Turk calls with second pair and beats K-J

Turk spinning up that starting stack....

Brown, no idea yet

Entry time....don't think so. they'll cut it off for new reserves at 7.15pm and I assume all those on the list then will be given the opportunity to enter after that point....

Entering now you'd have 30,000 at 300-600 so its getting to be an interesting decision as to whether you'd play....certainly in a level or so

Karabiner had starting stack at the break

First hand back...

Player to his right min raises, and he flats with 10-10

Two other callers

The big blind shoves for 17,000

Original raiser folds

Karabiner calls

The shover has A-K and hits

Down to 13,000, Karabiner decides to get moving

An UTG raise and 3 callers and Karabiner shoves the big blind, squeezing with A-5

The UTG raiser calls with A-K

UTG hit at least one King to knock him out

Sandeep Shah to his left 3 bets to 5200

The limper folds

Atkin makes it 11,500 from 46,000

Shah covers

Shah flats...

flop  Ks 7s 5d

Atkin checks Aces

Shah jams....

Atkin has a little think and ponders Kings or Queens, Ace-King etc

tells Shah he is nit-rolling him!

Calls

Shah  Kh Jc

Please tell me LonoRay didn't quite register... it will top of this insane day he's had.

Here's his current FB status:

Can't run worse today. Phone dies in night, miss alarm, miss lift. Miss train by 2 minutes - wait an hour for next one - it leaves 5 minutes earlier than scheduled, miss it. In mean time get guilt tripped into giving a woman money next to a parking meter - parking was free. Spend the rest of my change on an overpriced sandwich that makes me feel mighty nauseous but it's probably just my surroundings (Bedford). Now have old moustache lady telling me bible stories on the train. Going to ask her to pray for me this weekend. If I don't win all the gold at DTD or at least an online major this weekend there is no justice in this world.

Best of luck mate...

raises to 1450 playing 1900 with A-Q

small blind calls

big blind 5000 3 bet, most active player apparently

Charra shoves, having been playing for 20 minutes having been entry 425...

Runs into A-K and is out

Made by what my standards is a disciplined fold against Frankie.

Frankie opens utg+1 to 1600. I make it 4k with AQ. He calls. Flop ATT (2 diamonds). He checks. I bet 4,500. He calls. Turn 9c. Check check. River 2h. He bets 8300. I tank fold. Feel free to tell me:

1. This isn't even a decision; or
2. How can you fold?

It's probably one of them.

Frankie says he had AK and he seems like a gentleman so he must have done.

I'm left however with 15,925 after losing a few in another hand shortly afterwards.

What chance a double up?

Tim Blake limps the cut off and Francis Jones limps on the button

4 way they see a 2-5-4 flop

All check to Jones who bets 3,000

Blake the only caller

turn 4

Blake check raises all in, over Jones' 5,000 bet

Jones insta calls with 5-5

Blake A-3 of heart for the flopped straight

He is out

Dude was a good player. Assume he had a really strong hand when he flats my 4 bet. Couldn't understand why any of those hands would jam except maybe AQss.

I guess I should snap cos I'm never folding but I made it clear I was ridic strong whilst having a tiny think.

John Vaccarrella opens

Yoannis Liperis jams

In the big blind Carlo Citrone re-raises

Vaccarella now jams himself

back to Citrone for what will be a sizeable side pot if he calls

and he does call

Liperis A-A

Vaccarella K-K

Citrone Q-Q

7-8-10-4-J

Liperis trebles up

Vaccarella wins the side pot and makes some progress overall stack wise

By far the biggest stack before the hand, Citrone, is now short

120,000 currently

Might be a casino croupier, and might have been a rare live appearance. I am getting old, memory for player facts is slipping!

Monster 300,000 pot involving Adam Reynolds, Chaz Chattha and Michael Fisher

This was related to me from losers corner....

So, not knowing the pre-flop action

All three get it in on the flop, Reynolds covering both

Reynolds  Ahrt Kh

Chattha  8h 7h

Fisher  Jd Ts

flop  Th 6h 4d

Fisher trebles up on the brick turn and river

Reynolds takes a big hit

Chaz Chattha is currently on the Strongbow. Watch out Nottingham! He's out.

Sam Trickett busts and wanders over to Ms Sandhu's table to tell her the news

"Oh Sam" says Natsha "I'll go all in every hand shall I? So we can go?"

"No no no, you play. No problem" says Sam. Practicing for married life

While Sam watches there is a raise and Natsha shoves 75,000, looking only after she has commented (for the avoidance of doubt!)

Call, instantly, by A-Q

Natsha has A-K, doubles to 150,000

Sam slopes off, with a smile and a shake of the head....

Great effort Tighty, cannot be easy with the club being so busy but this thread gives a very good summary of this weekends comp, thanks :)

Special thanks to everyone for supporting the £300, especially those 150 players that waited patiently as alternates. Also, thanks to all of our staff, especially those who have worked throught their breaks to enable us to get 700+ players in.

Goes without saying, we will repeat this at £150K GTE in Feb, whether this level of prizepool is sustainable in the medium/long term is very questionable - as we cud not even sustain £100k at £300 in 2010, but of course, we will try.

Cheers Rob

Stuart Fox and Ali Mallu are old adversaries and have been sparring most of the day

Ali raises to 4,000 at 1-2k

"Oh, has Ali Mallu raised?" says Fox

Pause

Smile

"I raise"

and he makes it 11,500

the chances of Ali folding? usually remote, and so it proves as he flicks in the call

8c Kc 3h

Mallu check calls 12,000 with a wrinkle of his nose

7h

Mallu checks

Fox 20,000

"All in" says Mallu, almost imperceptibly, tossing one chip across the felt towards the dealer in an acrobatic arc....

Fox is unperturbed, and emotionless. He folds having lost the battle, but no doubt to resume the war soon.....

David Williams raies pre and gets two callers in the blinds Duncan Taylor and Carwyn Jenkins

9-10-J flop

checked to Williams who cbets

Taylor c-raises all in for 30,000

Jenkins flats

Williams, with 9-9 flats too....

4 turn..both check

J river

Jenkins checks, Williams bets his house and Jenkins calls

Nines full of Jacks beats Queen-Jack twice and wins a 120,000 pot for Williams, eliminating Taylor

Vaccarella in the big blind, who flats the 4 bet pre

flop 3-5-5

Vaccarella checks

Zimbler 30,000 leaving himself 80,000

Vaccarella check raise all in for 75,000

Long long think for Zimbler, who folds and sends the meaty pot to Vaccarella

Stephen Jakes is up to over 100,000

Neil Whitby has just doubled up Charlotte Godwin. He's on fumes and going to be shoving before the close

Play closes

On 1a 39 of 264 made it through. Some quick mental maths tells me this is 14.77%

Today 93 of 463 have made it through which is 20.08%. Roughly.

Just shows how the days play differently, the re-entry factor mainly makes 1a looser.....

132 return tomorrow for 2pm to chase the £218,100 prize pool

90 will get paid a minimum of £600 I think

Exact numbers tomorrow

Chip counts when I get them, and then go into a deep sleep. Hopefully.
