Title: Aussie Millions action
Post by: skolsuper on January 14, 2013, 02:50:05 PM
Hi all,

I am heading to Melbourne, Australia tomorrow for the 2013 Aussie Millions. I will be playing some sides, some cash and then also trying my hand in the main event again this year. I have made 2 previous attempts to win this tournament, both ultimately ending in failure, but rewarding failures nonetheless, with a 65th and a 2nd for $15,000 and $1,100,000 respectively. However as the main event buyin is ten Australian kilodollars and I don't like to spend so much on one tournament, I am looking to sell 35% of my action. I will be auctioning my action as I have done before in many different threads, however I will post the auction rules again in a separate post below in case anyone has forgotten. The main points potential buyers need to consider are:

  • The buyin is $10,000+600 in Australian dollars, which are much the same as normal dollars except they're made out of plastic, have a see-through bit in them and are not generally accepted as payment for goods and services in the USA. 1AUD roughly equals 0.66GBP or 1.05USD, so the buyin in those currencies is roughly £7000 or $11k respectively.
  • I can accept payment via almost any route, Australian dollars cash, stars dollars, UK bank transfer, moneybookers or other payment options are available on request, however the sender will have to cover my costs of converting the money if necessary, although I can usually keep these small. I have listed those payment options in order of preference btw.
  • Any returns will be due in Australian dollars and stakers will have to pay the costs of conversion into other currencies. However as stated before I am pretty good at keeping these costs low.
  • Only bid what you can afford to lose. Buying pieces in individual tournaments, you will lose more often than not.
  • I didn't go to this festival in 2012 due to exchanging contracts on a house on the exact date of day 1b, so technically, in the Southern Hemisphere, I am still on a heater from 2011.
  • In my opinion, Australian tournaments are softer than most.
  • My tournament record:
    http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=s&n=91657
    http://www.sharkscope.com/#Player-Statistics//networks/Player%20Group/players/skolsuper_all?filter=Class:SCHEDULED
  • I am pretty expert at money conversion, minimizing associated costs, and paying returns promptly and accurately without hassle. I am about as close to zero risk from theft/shenanigans as you will ever find on blonde. There are many references in this thread: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=51221.msg1335389#msg1335395

Finally, I will also be auctioning off 1% of former champion David Gorr to the highest bidder. I don't have a piece of him, this is just my way of clawing a little value back, and hopefully I'll fetch a higher price than him and feel better about everything (although possibly not...) I'm pretty sure I can afford to pay out if he somehow wins it again, although be aware that there is a slight extra risk that, in the event of a repeat victory, I may take a running jump from the roof of the Crown.

Happy bidding people, and fingers crossed I can go one better this year :)

I am selling 35% of my gross prize money in the 2013 Aussie Millions main event. Anything outside of the prizepool $ is not included.
I am also selling 1% of the gross prize money of former champion David Gorr. If he doesn't play I will refund this in full. I'm not sure if there will be a list of entrants published by the casino, if there isn't then by bidding you agree to take my word for it if I say he played and lost, even if I can't verify it.
The auctions will close at 15:00:00 forum time on Saturday 19th January. Late bids will not be counted out of fairness to the people that bid on time.
I must publish any bids sent to me by PM at least 1hr before the end of the auction, otherwise they will not be counted.
Payment for my action must be sent before I sit down to play or the percentage will be voided and either resold or kept by me.
Payment for the 1% of David Gorr must be sent before the start of play on Day 1A on 27th January or the bet is off.
Everyone who is interested in buying a piece should make a bid for a certain percentage with the maximum price they would be prepared to pay for that piece. e.g. pleno 5% @ 1.3
All the bids are arranged in descending order by price* and the top 35 percentiles** at the close of the auction win the auction.
Every winner pays the price of the lowest winning bid.

*In the event of a tie, the bid made first chronologically will take precedence
**This may involve one person receiving only part of the percentage that they bid for.

You can make as many bids as you like, e.g. if you would buy 10% at 1.1 but only 5% at 1.2, you can make 2 bids, 5@1.1 and 5@1.2, if the strike price finishes 1.1 or below you will have 10%, between 1.1 and 1.2 you will get 5% and over 1.2 you won't buy any.
Bids will be rounded to 2 decimal places, i.e. 1.333 will be considered the same as 1.33 and ranked chronologically
Bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn, I am ending the auctions in plenty of time to chase everyone up for payment before the event.
To prevent any <0.5 shenanigans, the minimum price will be 1.0
In the event of some unforeseen dispute arising the referee's* decision will be final.

he used to frequently get the better of me in the internet wars. The kids far too sharp and intelligent to have a war of words with. Then LilDave told me that him n Jamie used to wake up and the first thing they did was checkouts my Facebook page to see who I'd given both barrels to that day. I know this is true because I opened a link that said "check who is reading your wall" just before my laptop went down with a virus.

I love Tighty  n   Tikay.  The pair of em together are dynamite

Guess I'd better sort this. Auction winners were as follows:

Me:

Honeybadger: 4 @ 1.3 PAID BT
Scotty77: 3 @ 1.3 PAID BT
tonytats: 2.5 @ 1.29 PAID BT
neeko: 1 @ 1.27 PAID BT
claypole: 2.5 @ 1.26 PAID BT
Ripple11: 2.5 @ 1.26 PAID BT
Amatay: 2.5 @ 1.26 PAID BT
rupert: 17 @ 1.25 PAID cash

Price = 1.25, 1% = AU$132.50

DG:

neeko: 0.xxx 1.01 (pretty happy that this isn't the full 1% as he might even be +EV at this price) PAID BT

Preferred payment methods are aussie dollars, then stars/tilt, then moneybookers/bank transfer, then anything else.

1% = AUD 132.50 = USD 140 = GBP 88.25 using xe.com rates

For neeko, £11.75 = 0.165% of David Gorr :)

Let me know how you want to pay, will pm those who have already requested bank details.
