I'm heading out to Deauville in a few days to play the EPT. Just before the EPT kicks off is the grand final of the French Poker Series (FPS) which is a 1000+100 euro buyin. I expect this to be the softest tournament 1k or higher I play all year. I play 2/3s of my volume online on French sites and have a really good idea how to play vs them and the different types of players I'm likely to come across. I'm very confident playing live tournaments, especially at this buyin level. A lot of the EPT regs won't arrive in time for this and a lot of people are in Australia too for the Aussie Millions, so I believe the standard of the field will be incredibly soft, except for the Father and Son Gascoigne team that are going who will doubtless be my main threat. Grinded all day with no hands, had one golden level to get to 75k which was double average, then lost 4/5 standard medium sized pots towards the end. Got a 3b jam through (had jacks) then open and cbet through, then got a walk, then 4b jammed 29bbs btn vs sb 3bet when he was obv light with QJcc and got that through. 59k at 800/1600. All gone my way so far.
