"The £500,000 GTE Monte Carlo is a 60 min clock throughout, 9 handed, using the EPT Grand Final €10K Monte Carlo ante/blind structure. 1st prize is expected to be £125,000 +

The Day 1a Online will be dealt 9 handed, 11 levels x 24 minute clock.

The Live Day 1's will start at 12pm and play 11 levels, Day 2 1pm and play 10 levels, Day 2 1pm and play 9 (ish) levels

There is no re-entry on the same day but players who bust out of the Online Day 1a, can play Day 1b live and/or Day 1c live. The number of players that re-enter in previous Monte Carlo is 5%-10%.

The Monte Carlo attract players from all over the UK, but its not often a non DTD regular doesn't bag the 1st prize. Previous Winners include Wadey, Rastafish, Frazer, Julian and Alex.

There will be a load of Monte Carlo information coming out soon. The Monte Carlo is my my second favorite event behind the £50 Grand Prix so we are getting the Grand Prix info out first of course

Tighty will be updating the event and starting a thread on here soon - so that Nicola can answer player questions on satellites etc. Seems ages since we have done a Monte Carlo, good timing though, a month before the real thing in May where I am hoping to take a few qualifiers this year.

Maybe consider lowering the juice for the online day 1?

I mean it's a reentry and lots of players who bust wil re-enter on the live buy in days anyway, so you will earn even more out of them

10% juice for a grand buyin online is very expensive imo.

£1000 + 60 or 70 seems more equitable.

Pokerstars Super Tuesday is $1000 + $50 I believe.

Why should the live players pay less juice than anyone else Keith? It is cheaper online, but you can't do it (neither will happen anyway) when others are paying more.

Can't deny that 10% juice for an online tournament is expensive. The idea though is to get to day 2 where everyone is back at the club and it costs exactly the same.

Can't see how reducing the juice would make any difference to numbers whatsoever. If someone's arsey enough to pull out because it's too expensive online you can bet there's someone arsey enough to pull out of the live day 1 because the online was too cheap.

Was looking at buying in to the wpt national at Stratford.  It is £1500 +£150 which seems a bit steep.  But they wanted an extra 1.5% to buy in online with a debit card.

 If you were thinking of taking advantage of this great offer, they have now stopped pre registrations a week before the tournament. 

DTD shouldn't worry too much when their rivals continue to score own goals like this*.

* though to be fair London GUKPT was well run and the juice wasn't nearly as bad.

In London railing Rob at EPT and have meetings at Wembley all week, we have the small matter of a £500,000 GTE to deal with before the ISPT gets in full flow, we are trying something different for these Monte Carlo sats, last time we did 1 seat per night which could get expensive over a week for players directly buying in to the evening satellites, so we are just doing 1 bigger satellite every Sunday with 10 seats GTE to start off with - £5 feeders every night 6pm 8pm 10pm and start tomorrow (Monday). It says on the official DTD site that KO is at 12 for Thursday & Friday? It this 100% set in stone? Seems a tad to early...

Late reg is open until 9:05pm.  How late do you want it to finish?

Yeah I can understand that, but still a pretty early start time compared to the monthly bigges that start 1/2pm and those traveling to Nottingham, etc.

Change time may definitely not change, but a suggestion that maybe better would be to start Day 2 an hour earlier (to 12) and put back day 1 an hour, therefore later reg and people will be in the city any if they make day two, so not fussed about an earlier start anyway?

I think that would suit a few players?

It starts earlier because the levels are longer than the monthly deepstack.

I won 6 seats last time I'm gonna see if I can do it again

Could break it up into 2 sattelites every weekend, one on Saturday night, one on Sunday.

Saturday night - £75 +7 = £82 turbo sattelite. 20,000 starting chips, 5 minute clock. 3 seats guaranteed.

Sunday night - £100 + 10 = £110 2nd chance freeze out. 12,000 chips on a 10 minute clock, with one option to rebuy IF u lose all your chips within the first 90 minutes. 5 seats gtd.

Last Sunday before the event, £250 + 70 = £320 freeze out. 15,000 chips on a 15 minute clock with no add on or rebuy. 10 mega seat guarantee.

Feeder Sats into all the main Sats.

For the live Sats ( if any) u could do one card turnovers for £11 each per player to win a seat into either a live £110 or online £110.

I know why the rebuys are there but would it also be an idea to have £5 or £6 freezeouts daily going in to a £25 or £30 freezeouts going in to the mega sats as another option

To be honest this buy in is way out of my league and probably many others and the rebuys do end up costing you a lot in the long run - I haven't planned on playing this tourney but if you are looking for extra ways to get more players it may be worth a look

You never seem to do any turbo satellites. I sure can be arsed to 1 table a 15 minute clock in the evening [  ] [  ] [  ]

Obv it v difficult to please everyone and no one tries harder than dtd but i personally wud prefer freezout feeders / satellites to rebuy or re entry. Wud it be an option to alternate the feeders so 1st hour is £15 freezout then the next is £2 re buy and so on? This gives everyone equal opps. Jus my 50p. keep up the gud work cos as I said no 1 tries harder than DTD and I am sure sometimes it must feel like "why do we bother" when whatever u do someone somewhere always nit picks. Format seems fine to me, I like 1 in 10 sats.  I couldn't play as I had another ipoker screen open already when I read about the sat.

the problem is everyone goes into dtd online satellites with different mind sets and bankrolls, i think the 10seats gtd every sunday is spot on.
if your going to do re-buy mini feeders into sunday then should just be £5 rebuy because if you make it £10-£15 rebuy but you still get players that will through money into it, now this is what you want BUT it also puts off a hell of alot of people from playing them, if its £5 then players aint shy of having £10 shot at it. as Newy said DTD try there best and recently have made things alot better for players with less wonga on there hip

played the comp lastnight and thought it was cracking value imo, the numbers will surely rise as ya get closer to the event so no need to tweak it.. I personally played it like £110 freezeout and never planned on taking the rebuy. I also never saw anybody top just reload ehen theyed spluffed there chips off. The only thing that disapointed me was that Titaniumbean didn't get a seat after i'd helped him out... ;)

I am still not clear, can the reload be taken as an add on at the end of the reload period regardless of stack or do you have to be out or below starting stack to take it?

No it played like it was planned 15k chips only a hand full or re loads.

£1000 comps are a bit rich for me, but when I tried to satty on the Thursday into the £300 that was a 15 minute clock too. At the same time, the online day 1a of the £300 was running at the same time........with a 12 minute clock! Surely satellites are meant to be faster than the comp your trying to win your way into.

Seems a shame to lose the 14 day rule which gave some flexibility to this. I'm not always sure about what I can do on a Sunday evening due to family and I can't be the only one.

am I being stupid or are you trying to get a refund from a comp you busted ???

Could be seen as that.. but what happened was there were 3 tables left and ours was the only one playing they were both 8 handed and we were 5 i believe i busted during this period. Nobody knew what was going to happen and the comp was closed shortly after i busted.  Therefore even though we were not paused stopped etc my table was greatly affected by the actions on the other table...

I have been dealt with via email from the very helpful DTD support staff who im sure you are very familiar with Jason :)

Lol. Yeah I have had one or two dealings with Nicola, Maria, Kerry and Sophia this week. They are brilliant but the majority of the time the issue is due to an ipoker cock up rather than a Dtd one. This ain't the thread to complain but I have been playing a lot of ipoker stuff recently. Its across the network. I used my wife's bank card which they accepted but despite my wife sending em ID and the photos of the card saying its ok ipoker now say despite taking money in the past its not ok... And because I want to withdraw money from one of the skins I have to change my user name because it had an "&" in it.

Your case seems pretty reasonable but because I  ain't been around it just looked like you had busted early and wanted a refund.

I hope the ipoker software can cope with the freerolls and sats for the ISPT. This could be another snafu that is beyond Dtd's control.

will prolly be there for 1b, i wanna do the updating!!!! (assuming i bust early which is pretty likely given track record in dtd).

Save yourself a bag son and just do the updating, you'll get fed that way too ;)

guy raises utg to 3k blinds 500/1000. goes round the table one caller coms round to me a small blind i have KK, he has about 25k behind him my total stack 28k. i raise to 7.5k, he shoves other guy folds i snap.
now if hes got ak or aces fair enough
but what the hell is he putting me on when he calls with 77???? and on the flop a 7, bear in mind this comes after i win with kk 5mins before and ive got 65k stack, i got a feeling i wont win with them and sure enough.

from that play i get done over time after time. hep111 omg what a donk play, then hes the guy who takes me out with ak against my aj. its so sickening everytime, i wana win a seat simple

Can someone please tell me where I can find the online feeders?  I look under to headings "Multi tourney" and then "specials" "regular" and  "freerolls" and I cannot find anything related to the Monte Carlo. Also a free £5 is mentioned added to each players account, I cannot see this in my account, please can somebody explain how I can use this offer?

When we scheduled this £500,000 Monte Carlo we did not have the ISPT scheduled in, so we have not been able to give the Monte Carlo as much effort as we originally intended - we have doubled the GTE and done less marketing than the previous ones!

I dont think we have done enough marketing of the event, hence me asking for you guys to help me out www.lastminute.com. I think the only way to hit this is a big push for the next 10 days and I dont want any negative PR before the ISPT starts, I mean if we cant hit a £500k gte then how the hell can we hit a £5M prizepool!

Deal : If we can we beat this £500K GTE without dropping more than £50,000 in the sats (and I don't think I can do this without your/poker community's help to market the event), I will committ to making the next DTD Monte Carlo a  £1M GTE and we will market it a LOT LOT LOT more than this one!

Yes if you can't play the addition seats because you made Day 2 on your first attempt then you will be entitled to a refund, which I will sort for players as soon as they make day 2.

If a player wins 3 seats and chooses not to play them then we are unable to refund as we recommend players to only win the number of seats they are willing/able to play :)

I have a suggestion.  When the satellites are advertised for this (or any other event), it'd be a good idea to state whether it's a freezeout, unlimited rebuy, or limited rebuy, etc.  Sometimes it's very difficult to find this information and even logging into the client and finding the actual satellite doesn't always make it clear.

I don't know if the omission of this information is a concious decision in order to make it appear as though it's a £100 outlay, when it could be much more (for a rebuy) and you don't want to put people with smaller bankrolls off.  But if this information is up front I think you'd get more people playing the feeder satellites in order to get themselves several bullets for the main sat.

I'll do a post on blonde about it.....

No seriously, I'll mention it to everyone I see and do all I can to raise awareness.

1 for the Online buy in, but the software won't allow you to use a token for a reload as the reload is only £100

If you win more than three, they will not be redeemed

If you win three and use less, those will be redeemed

yeh when it's not advertised as a rebuy on any promo, and the 'reload' implies you have to loose all your chips first...

I got a clarification of this as follows

If players reload who have won multiple £100 tokens - we will refund them the £110 for their left over £110 token into their account

Eg player wins 2 tokens - used token 1 to buy in , reloads with cash, we refund the full £110 of his second token

This works for live or online


the problem comes because the reload is £100 but the token is £110, so the software has a problem

Purchase a reload in cash and if you have a token the token will be refunded afterwards...

Is there still a 10 seat guarantee £110 sat tomorrow ? can't see it in the lobby.

Probably a stupid question with a predictable answer but I'll ask anyway. Can't play the MC as not around that weekend, if I play the sats are the seats/cash in anyway transferable? Ideally to use for some 300 deep stacks if possible.

just playing £5 feeder sat, wouldnt have without free token, was a great idea! final table bubble and i ship my last 8bb on button A8o, get ship and re ship from blinds, playing for 25% chips in play A8 v 88 v TT.
we get the ace king X  flop  :)

You can re-enter into any future Day 1 so yes play 1A, 1B and 1C if you wish. You can't re-enter back into the same day though.

If you want to you are able to forfeit your stack, but this is only recommended for really short stacks and you won't be able to get these back if you choose to re-enter and don't make it through on your re-entry. If I had 2 tokens for example for the online 110 sat and I was unable to use it as I had over starting stack will the token value be refunded? or will you just lose it?

For the live satellite it's a bit easier and we can give you the reload chips and £10 cash back without you needing to part with the cash but with online you're not able to use the token so we need to refund you for any reload you take after the satellite :)

Are there gonna be any more online 'mega sats' other than the 50 seater on Sun?  There are 3 additional live sats (10 seater on sat & sun and a 20 seater next wed) so plenty of opportunities if playing live.  A few 5/10 seater sats next week would be great for those who cba to travel for live sats and would bump up numbers. 
Having won 2 x 100 tokens on Mon (thin), I haven't played any other sats as i can only play the online satellite on sun and therefore my max outlay will be 2 tokens. I'm sure there are others in the same boat.  If for example there were 1 or 2 additional £100 sats that you could use the tokens for then numbers would be up in the feeders and event itself.  Maybe a bit late now, but just a thought.

Yep that's correct. Can't do reload online so it's starting stack or less. You can take the rebuy as soon as it starts :)

On this occasion I'll check after the satellite and automatically credit the cash the next day. In the future players will need to email in if they wish to claim a token for a rebuy, and give the tournament ID of the tournament they took the rebuy in. Tips - join from the start as you don't get long to get chips (rapid clock) and if you get to 40-50k you should make it with the odd blind rob

You'll be surprised how quick the players fall away and the blinds soon hit 5k 10k with most players only on 20-30k

I'm guessing with all that's on this weekend I'm afraid I have to go with 200 live and 300 online with 60% of both days having the reload

200 live would disappoint me, well over 300 I would hope

I'd expect the numbers to be the other way round with maybe 200 online and somewhere around 330 live across two days

I think more people will play the online legs who have won tokens but the live legs will pick up some of the standard "Iancredible" runners flicking it in for a Monte seat.

Hope I'm wrong with my 200 prediction live I thinking that people travel cost ext to play a sat also gukpt ext so maybe massive turn out online as most online players there main day is Sunday

Yep there is no add on in either the live or online satellite.

The live sat is +1 Reload so you can take it regardless of stack and the online is +1 Rebuy (can't set up reload online) so you need to have starting stack or less. Best to take straight away if you have a token this guarantees you'll get it!

Have 3 tokens so taking Sun online off is not an option & going to try my best to win 2 bullets anyway (though one will be nice!)

Also - any chance of ramping up the options Mon & Tues online? One last push... maybe a copy of the 9.30 cheaper seat at £40 with min 5/6 runners to start versus the 10 at £20 - running twice both nights? I think you would avoid overlay there based on how the cheaper seats have been running. Either that or guarantee 2 seats per night and ask for just 15 runners at £20.. Or offer 5 seats on a £100. I know we're only talking an extra few seats compared to this weekend's bonanza but every little helps.

Most disappointed that this didn’t run :tikay:, spent 4 days between Gentings and DTD support in order to get funds into my account, manage to get it sorted 30 minutes before the satellite, was really working forward to playing.

Tonight's was put on at the last minute, but with 300 at the club, including many online regs, its perhaps not surprising that it couldn't make 50....

Totally agree with this new tap water policy for what it's worth.

The valet's are busy enough as it is without having to fetch free drinks for people as well as serve the customers who are buying stuff.

It might seem petty to some customers but they just don't appreciate how expensive it ends up being when you add up all the trips to the bar that the girls have to make.

As a tap water drinker myself I think it's absolutely fine to expect me to fetch it myself.

To start - the system needs number of GTE seats for the online tourney (50 in this case) PLUS 1 player, so 51 to start

Please remember that in the £100 Mega Sat tonight, the software only lets you reload if you have starting stack or less, unfortunately that is the way the software is written on ipoker, Nick says they intend to implement a "reload" into future releases, but that's the way it is. So if you have an extra token for a reload - use £100 from your account and we will refund you £110, you will have to reload 15,000 chips when you start or you run the risk of no being able to. The valets aren't there to make people's lives easy and wait on people hand and foot, they're there to serve food and drinks to paying customers.

I would think it pisses the valets off having to fetch water for people because invariably they won't get a tip. DTD have taken the pressure off them by making it their decision.

Great idea in my opinion and I'm one of those who drinks tap water.

Wouldn't mind a charge of 50p perfect solution imo. Also, wtf is rake for if it doesn't help meet costs for bringing water to the table. I mean the valet is odds on to talk past the table in the next 20 mins, can't she just have it on the tray with the rest of an order. I can't think of another casino where valets refuse to bring water. Most even give tea for free instead of £1.80 or so. If I've paid rake I really don't feel like it is unreasonable to get a glass of water brought to me. I'm not asking for a lot here really. Wonder if it changes during MC week.

Legally water cannot be charged for. Dtd have IMO come up with a good solution;  those that aren't willing to enter into the spirit of supporting the best poker club should walk. Everyone else understands.  That's my read.

How about all those thousands of poker chips that the tournament needs to run?

I just don't think getting a glass of tap water at the table is that much of a problem. I understand its not very cost/time effective, but when I've paid to play a tournament I want to play, not go to the bar for tap water. I've messaged Rob as it appears he wants a word with me, and if you want to pm as well thats cool, because I really don't feel like discussing this anymore. I fail to believe this is that big of a deal, and everyone at the table yesterday was gobsmacked. Literally every other tournament series around would provide water here, and I tend to expect above and beyond from DTD, I don't like paying for my tea when I wouldn't have to at a GPS, but I can understand that as a financial decision, however, refusing tap water because a valet would have to walk to the bar is a bit shitty as far as I'm concerned. I've paid my rake to play in the tournament and would like to play. If I'm really missing something that big, please tell me, but don't treat me like an idiot, when Rob commented I sent my mate a message saying I think I'm in trouble here, and the first thing he picked up on was your tone. I admit mine in previous posts isn't exactly ideal, but I don't think I treated you like a total idiot either, and regardless of your intention, that is how your post has come across to me. I will be doing my best not to respond in this thread further, and have messaged Rob in order to prevent this further. I'm somewhat lost as to how people think this is an issue, I genuinely thought it was a mistake from the valet, and to find out it is club policy surprised me greatly, I think if I'd posted on any other poker form everyone would agree with me, and the few people I have checked with (to make sure I wasn't completely ool) said they agreed with me. If this is club policy I'll be pretty upset to see a named player get tap water for free, but I guess bottled is a preference to some people, so its all good. FWIW bottled water is horrible environmentally and cost wise, but that is another issue completely.

Well done DTD.  Massive success in getting so many runners for a sat.  Just incred.

On the bottled water issue....just do what the vic and aspers do and have a few large jugs of water and some plastic cups in a couple of places at DTD.  Then no waiting at the bar, shouldn't take more than a minute of your time.  Most times you wouldn't even miss a hand.

Would be a huge shame if Adam did get banned from the site/club, so so good stuff gets said about DTD here so it's sad if we can't be a little neutral.

As I would say a friend of Adam's and I could be seen to be in his side, I think the argument is a little weak and just paying for a bottled water is fine, the Valets are obviously super busy and with respect to GUKPT, DTD usually have 3x as many people in there and these are pretty girls dressed relatively sexily, not old timers in trousers and jumpers!

Breaks are there for a reason and you should be able to be sorted really, and even if not its a total level playing field really.

Anyway, thats not really the point and I hope you guys can sort this out.

BTW Just having water machines or something near by would sound like a v good idea.

I actually thought it was a wind up, and was surprised to see what entailed over the following 4 pages when I read them earlier.

Not sure what situation is regarding the water, but I can see Adam's point regarding the bar queues at the break, they are huge, but you kinda expect it. But it only takes a couple of minutes to walk to bar and ask yourself when it's empty, do not sure why it's turned into this.

That is why. I'm pretty upset its come to this, I don't even want the glass of tap water without spending, so I'm purely fighting for a cause that isn't relevant to me. Unfortunately, Rob sees my custom as -ev, and he is entitled to that position, and whilst he hasn't confirmed anything concrete yet, looks like I'm saying hi guys in Nandos .I love DTD, I'd love nothing more than for the UK to have cardrooms like LA for example, and I've always wished DTD well, I haven't posted anything anywhere about the ISPT because of the other businesses involved, and if it was purely DTD then I'd be right behind them despite not being able to play. I have a vested interest in DTD doing well, and I do hope its possible for me to get involved in the big games there. One of my most fun sessions had Rob on the table, and I was having my biggest session ever before it all went pair shaped. I love everything about DTD and I felt like this was a mistake from them. Most people order tap water because they are coughing etc, barely anyone just orders one  for fun so whilst i understand it is a pain in the arse for the valets etc,  we do pay to play poker and that is what I want.

I don't see how my attendance levels are relevant, this isn't purely through choice, if I lived locally and was adequately rolled I would play every single deepstack/MC and things around. FWIW, I played both day 1s in January, and wanted to play the MC. I'm not a fan of moaning, and I understand DTD is a business, this just seemed a step too far to me. I will apologise in person to Rob if my tone upset him, that wasn't my intention in the slightest (also Matt, although we are probably friendly enough to duke it out in the car park...) This isn't what I wanted at all, I thought I was making a fair point, and I still believe I am, but it shouldn't have come anywhere near to this, so I have to hold my hands up. I'm not into criticising DTD, the company and brand are close to my heart, the first proper place I've played live, and despite not being able to book a win there in the last 10 sessions or so, I'll (hopefully) continue to punt around there. I wanted to dodge the public drama, but Rob is a busy man, and I'd be pissed in his position if he had to waste time on this, so I hope we can spend 30 seconds discussing this and then twenty mins having a joke and a pint.

There was confusion over this in the one last night with myself and others expecting there to be an add on aswell as the Reload.

this weeks (Mon-Thurs) are advertised as "1r 1a" whereas they were previously one reload.

Not sure if it's been posted ITT, but what is the protocol for having extra seats? I've got 3, but have since found out I am only available for 1b. Are seats transferable to other players? other DTD comps (broken down for Deepstacks)? or future Monte Carlo events? If these options are available i'll probably just keep flicking in the satellites (3/3  ;whistle;).

As I understand it:

Max 3 seats...for the 3 day 1's. If you get through to day 2 , you can get a refund of the unused seats.
 However you can't have 3 seats and only play Day 1c., and expect to get a refund on the other 2 seats. You must play day 1a, and hope to get to day 2, if you want a refund of your 2 other seats.

Yes this week we have added the add-on due to player requests. We couldn't change last nights as we had to make it a fair comparison to Saturday's live MEGA SAT.

You just need to register via the lobby into the day 1 of your choice, it's much easier now to buy in online. You have to have an online account of course :)

I'm afraid the seats are only available for this event, and are not transferable to other players.

When a player wins 3 tokens they have to play them with the intention of re-entering i.e. play day 1a and so forth.

If the player is successful on his first attempt (1A) then we will the additional 2 seats.

However if you are only able to play Day 1B then you would never be eligible for a credit for the 3rd seat, as you could never have used it.

Is there no way of you playing these seats, we have £500,000 GTD and it would be a shame for you to have won the seats and not play this event until you make day 2?

Please don't play any more satellites as your fourth seat is 100% redundant with only 3 chances to play.
