Title: Cheltenham Offers Thread
Post by: horseplayer on March 11, 2013, 01:52:49 PM
This is by no means an exhaustive list there are plenty of other offers with smaller  firms which i have not included.

These are for existing customers only, if you don't have accounts with all the firms there are obviously other offers you should use as a new customer (see link below).

http://www.oddschecker.com/welcome-centre

Please check the terms on all of these before betting. Some "refunds" are in the form of cash, some are free bets and some are free bets that have a limited time to use.

I would also advise logging into any old accounts you maybe have not used for a while as there may be a free bet or two lurking.

1. BetVictor will refund any losing bets on the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle up to £50, in the form of a free bet.
Direct Link http://www.betvictor.com/sports/en/cheltenham-festival-supreme-novices

2. RaceBets will refund your losing bet if My Tent Or Yours wins the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. (ONLY ON TUESDAY DAY OF RACE)
Direct Link https://www.racebets.com/en/horse-betting-online/content/show/module/offers/

3. William Hill are offering FIVE places on the Supreme Novices Hurdle, for a quarter the odds.
Direct Link http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/e/4178473/1%3a30.html

4. Ladbrokes will give you your money back as a free bet if you back Simonsig in the Arkle and he loses.
Direct Link http://sportsbeta.ladbrokes.com/promotions (only up until 5pm today (monday)

5. Paddy Power will refund all losing bets on the Champion Hurdle if Hurricane Fly wins.
Direct Link http://www.paddypower.com/racing/daily-racing/cheltenham/15%3a20-CHAMPION-HURDLE-%28GRADE-1%29-2m-1-2f-3556694.html#area=sb

6. Bluesq Get Money Back (in form of free bet) in the following Championship races if your horse finishes 2nd by less than 3 lengths
Direct Link http://www.bluesq.com/bet?action=GoPromo&pg_id=moneyback

7. Coral Sprinter Sacre at even money (£20 maximum stake)
Direct Link http://sports.coral.co.uk/?action=GoEv&ev_id=502211

Coral also have this http://www.coral.co.uk/bet10 bet £10 on first day of every day get £10 back to use anywhere on coral website (max £40 back across 4 days) thanks to maldini 32 for this one

8. Bet365 1/4 odds most races usual channel 4 4-1+ offer applying to all cheltenham races

9. Boylesports money back if your horse is 2nd beaten by up to half a length in ALL cheltenham races

10.Betfair money back on first day only if horse finishes second (upto £100) on first bet placed in that race only (i think this is there sportsbook only). They are also commision free on tuesday on all cheltenham races after Saturdays crash.

Attached is an interesting comparison using the Tote prices in previous years in all handicap only races the sp 88% was bigger on the tote in the handicap races (not including betfair sp) when returning at double figures.
Possibly a good alternative if you don't like or use betfair.

I will update this op daily with any daily offers that come available as and when i can.
I see for instance hills are doing a priority price at noon daily.

Good luck to all.

Tuesday offers only

Hills supreme 5 places (think this has been discussed :)
Racebets upto £50 back losing singles on Supreme if My Tent or Yours wins
Hills Priority price at midday (£20 max limited time will update when it comes live)
Paddy Power upto £100 back if hurrican fly wins the champion
Coral bet £10 on first race get £10 credit back
VC Bet upto £50 refund in free bets if you lose on the supreme
Betfair Exchange commission free on all cheltenham races today only
Betfair money back on sportsbook
Ladbrokes Champion Hurdle upto £25 free bet refund if your horse finishes second regardless of distance

Quite a few there and im sure there are more i have missed :) I have not included the general money back offers if beaten by a length e.t.c a lot of firms are running.

Basically if you are having a bet today and probably all week you should be able to find a way of possibly getting something back as a refund for losing which does not happen very often.

Wednesday Offers

Coral evens Sprinter Sacre max £20 still there (a must if you can have not yet)

If you are betting in the handicaps and the bumper make sure you are getting the best place terms at least. In the bumper ladbrokes and bluesq are the only firms offering first 3 home (generally first 4 ) which is pretty naughty. And in the coral cup ladbrokes and hills are the only firms only paying first 4 home (everybody else first 5) one thing is for sure you will not here david williams from little Britain shouting about these "offers" ....

hills priority price

Sprinter Sacre to win by 10 lengths or more - PRIORITY PRICE @ 2/1 (max £20) limited time

Not a lot doing as of yet will update accordingly dont expect much on a day of handicaps e.t.c

The willhill offer on the supreme seems ridic, 5 places with 12 horses, 3 of which are a million in my eyes. Surely they are regretting it a bit now the race has cut from 19 to 12.

5 places from 9 horses. I imagine Channing is legging it round willhill shops all over his area as we speak (if its avail in shops aswell I haven't checked). I wish I had as big of a bankroll as previous years and I'd be doing the same  :(

He must still be doing it then I guess, I once challenged him to a charity 'tip off' after he called one of my lists on the Scottish Cup something like 'a goldmine for punters this week'. He went 1 from 5 and declined. :D

He's never been the best and that picture on his twitter must be at least 10 years old so I am pretty sure it's the same dude.
Their's a group of Glasgow based punters that goto 2 or 3 lower League/reserve games a week and have a man.in the inside of every squad in Scotland giving them the team news and formations.Im sure nearly all of them make a living out of it.

Legging it round "collecting" from Melodic Rendevous.

Hills must be very pleased with themselves. Such morons these people. No thought goes in to most of it.

I think to punish them the most everyone should be each-way at sp on the race. They can't be 10% under Betfair every runner like that.

If I could I'd be backing Un Atout, Jezki, Cause of Causes, Cheltenian and Puffin Billy all ew 5 places 1/4 @ sp with Hills.

The two thousand shots probably won't place, I think Pique Sous is a real plodder (granted it might be plodding ground but still), which leaves only 9.

Dodging bullets a steal here first five places at 10/1 surely or am i missing something ?

Title: Re: Cheltenham Offers Thread

Dodging Bullets probably unsuited by the ground and deserted by Ruby. Un Atoout vibes seem bad, what has it beat? Not really solid form.

Title: Re: Cheltenham Offers Thread
Post by: Horneris on March 11, 2013, 11:15:49 PM
Dodging Bullets could well be but I think hes for sure a better horse on better ground. Same can't be said for a few of the others.

I'm not totally sure about Un Atout, how can you be on the form. But Davy Russell seems very keen and if it keeps raining the one sure thing is it will love the ground. There was a slow but steady stream of money on betfair for it today going from 9.2 to 8.0 which i took notice of but back to 8.4 now.

Isn't this standard for in shop lucky 15s? Or just a promotion offered in certain shops? Because I'm sure I've seen this elsewhere.

Not standard from what I have seen. I know some firms do double 1 winner on Lucky 15s as standard, but that's about it.

Received from Sporting Bet......

Fashion may be a big thing on Ladies Day but the main event is on the track with the Sportingbet Queen Mother Champion Chase, one of the highlights of the entire festival!
If you back Sprinter Sacre to win the race and he loses we refund your money (max £100.)

Title: Re: Cheltenham Offers Thread
Post by: horseplayer on March 13, 2013, 10:14:39 AM
op updated

have not included the sporting bet "offer" as it does not look as it seems at first glance

"Place bets at Cheltenham on Wednesday with Sportingbet to qualify you for a “No Lose Bet” on Sprinter Sacre.
If you back Sprinter Sacre to win the Race and he loses we refund your money (max £100).
Qualifying bets must be placed on any other Cheltenham Race(s) to qualify.
You can then place up to the total value of these bets on the “No Lose” Sprinter Sacre market (max £100).
Bets in the “No Lose” Market are placed separately with your own betting funds.
This is not a “matched offer”. If Sprinter Sacre loses we refund qualifying bets in the “No Lose” Market (max £100 within 1 hour).
So if, for example you have a £50 bet on the Neptune, you qualify for a £50 No Lose Bet on Sprinter Sacre with your own betting funds. If you place a £50 bet on the Neptune and £50 on the RSA you qualify for a £100 No Lose Bet on Sprinter Sacre.
"

Yes, at 6/1, we don't really have a choice. I expect we will be limited to £10 or £15, but we'll do it.

The Bookies have had a magnificent week, the % of favourites winning was low, & they've all made a packet, though some of the Offers must have hurt, especially at Coral.

They were unable to pay out the Sacre bet on the day, or most of the following day, so you can imagine the grief they got via Customer Support, & of course the whole idea of the Promotion was lost.

Painful.....

Worth checking your email for this from betfair.

Get up to £200 refunded on your Cheltenham Gold Cup Day net losses when you bet on the Exchange today.
1. Opt in
2.Bet on the Exchange on races at the Cheltenham Festival on 15/03/2013 and if you accumulate a loss over the day, we will refund 25% of your net losses, up to £200*.

I don't know if it is general or just for mugs like me.

Two more notes on this that should be useful if anybody else gets the offer.

1.  They didn't include my ante post bets on the Gold Cup.  Worth noting for next time.

2.  I bet a couple of horses to make my total position including ante post as about £200.  I think the optimum use of this offer is just back one horse to win for £200 on the nose.  I don't think the price matters too much, but short prices reduce variance.  If you back one horse at 6/4 for example.  If it wins you get £300.  If it loses you lose £200, but you get 25% back, so your loss is only £150.  So the end result is that you get 2/1 (£300/£150) about a 6/4 horse.  Allowing for small overounds and commission you still have a healthy long run ROI (10% or so) on this bet.
