Hi guys,

Since this didn't sellout yesterday (for ref http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=60750.0), I've reduced the markup and am starting a new thread here.

I'm selling 25% of my action for the DTD Monte Carlo, which takes place on the 17th April, with a buyin of £1000+100. I will be playing the live day 1b and re-entering for 1c if necessary, so I'm selling for 2 bullets.

I'm also selling 40% of my action for the WPT National Marbella Main Event, which takes place on the 11th April, with a buyin of EUR 1500+150. Re-entry is available for Day 1b, so I'm selling 2 bullets just in case.

Monte Carlo

This has a £500k GTE, and is held in DTD where I put in a huge percentage of my volume. I know the players there extremely well, and have had good success there, especially in this tournament - in the two previous times I have played it in 2011, winning the July one for £77k and coming 4th in December for £22k. The prizepool will be twice as big this time. DTD are running a sick satellite schedule, with feeders from £5 so I think the field will be really good value, but it will attract some top players as well.

WPT National Marbella

About 15 of us travelled to this festival last year and Pete Linton chopped the main event heads up taking home EUR 100k, and we had someone on the final table of every single side event, including the Spanish Open, which I won outright. So to say I think it'll be a great value tournament is an understatement. I really enjoy playing these sorts of tournaments vs this kind of field, and feel this is a great value investment.

I am full of confidence and love for the game at the moment after an online score last week for 21k euros, and a great run on the cash tables at DTD. I'm flying to Marbella a day or two before the main starts, so I'll have plenty of time to rest and get used to the place again, and will be fully focussed on the main event, not planning to play anything else. My motivation for the Monte Carlo will obviously be sky high - to make back to back to back finals would be incredible.

Selling for the Monte Carlo at 1.35 and the WPTN at 1.3. Remember, selling 2 bullets of each so the chance of us bricking all 4 bullets is ~ <50% .

25% of both = (1100*1.35*0.25*2)+ (1650EUR *1.3*0.25*2/1.1855) = £1648
10% of both = £660
5% of both = £330
2% of both = £132
1% of both = £66

Will need to sell 15% of the WPTN separately, which will be £543.

Rest of table is good though. Lost some ground 3bet cbet give up AK,  value cut myself 88 vs 99 on 433T5 and made a standard river fold even though I had a feeling I was getting bluffed and got shown 72o lol.

Good news: 53k in level 3 from 25.

Gave the old "dont believe in reserve implied odds" speech as I peeled a 3bet with Qd 9d and made a bunch of chips on 7d 5d 2h Ad Th runout vs Ac Kd. Pretty nice life. Pleno dbled too, both cruising on a lovely table.

Thought I would randomly pop in to wish the best of luck.

Sick back to back pots for me, down to 18k from 60.

Pleno is down to 13k at 150/300 and I get in JJ vs his KK to dbl him up.

Very next hand open A8cc and bet bet c/raise on Qc Jc 7d Js Kc

He bets river 5k into about 13k, felt like I had to raise, made it 13k then he did a small Hollywood like he was struggling over a call, then shoved.

Felt like an easy fold but so gross. I fold and he celebrates, but mucks, then insta claims he was bluffing.

Sigh, abs crippled. Peeled ATo from bb vs 2.2x, donked AT9ddx got raised, shoved he calls 99 and holds.

Down to 2bb done a spin since, J2>A8 and 66<JJ, up to 9.5k now which is 19bbs!

GG, shoved 14bbs sb vs cutoff or btn vs hijack cant remember with ATo vs active opener, he calls AJ and holds.

IN for tomorrow, field supposed to be even better tomorrow. Really nothing I could do with the pots I lost, the A8cc river line is interesting, a few different options discussed.

The hand plays out like this:

I've just lost JJ<KK vs pleno for a 25k pot at 150/300 and open utg next hand to 700 with Ac 8c, btn who is a pretty bad player calls, pleno calls in the bb.

Qc Jc 7d check, I bet 1250, btn calls, Pleno quickly calls.

Js, check, I decide to bet again 3500, thinking it looks really strong and Pleno would fold Qx, the btn can be rofling about, would fold a 7, perhaps call worse draws, maybe even fold a Q. Plus obv I have equity with the nfd. The btn calls and Pleno folds (AQ apparently).

Kc Now I decided that the btn would now fold a Q almost certainly to a bet, but would value bet himself a Jack, KQ and a flush and would also struggle to fold these to a checkraise because he just was the kinda non-believer type who'd never find a hero fold. I decided he wasn't going to call a bet with the hands he'd check back with, so just decide to go for the max the times he has a flush or Jack. I decided also that it's easier to figure out how strong he is by checking and then deciding whether to raise or call or not, rather than bet myself and get raised and then be in a tough spot.

So I checked and he bet 5k, which seemed definitely small enough for me to be winning, so I went ahead and raised to 13k, and felt so sick when he tanked and then went allin for another 18k. Obviously I folded, I think he either had KJ or he had a straight flush Tc 9c. Gross hand.

AT vs 99 on AT9 was uber standard, never not doubling the guy up there.

Oh well, on to the next one...

Got a solid 10hours sleep last night but day 1b has not started well at all. Made a lot of 2nd best hands, and heroed a good player who had been playing absurd down with 67 on 643KT he had dem aces. Felt like a runout he would just barrel a lot of the time.

18k going into 75/150 in a bit.

Ran a bluff which would've worked if he hadnt rivered two pair. 14k :(

Herofolded: peel sb with 97ss vs utg1 open 200bbs deep. Check call 1/2 pot on T72r Q turn brings a fd, Check he tank checks. River 7, flush gets there, I check he bets 1.5x pot. Just always for value here, vrarely winning so folded.

Sitting happy on 30k at 100/200/25

Mayve missed value bet on river in 3bet pot with Js 9s on Jh 6d 3d 8c 4h but checked back after he 3bet sb vs cutoff and bet flop and turn. He had Tc 6c which probably calls. Oh well.

Didnt really want to get involved like that, but he forced me too! Was 5b calling then he click 6b to 40% of my stack, but still went with it and held.

Sort of worked- flush vs straight to get to 60. Board paired so he just called river when I bombed it, never gonna raise a smaller bet so won the max.

Took ibuprofen on the break, have had a headache and stomach trouble all day (been trying the cooking thing again...), feeling much better now.

Great start, 240k avg 100 blinds 1/2k.

Guy went crackers with 67dd pre for 80k odd.

Moved to first non soft table of tournament so far. Lost AJ to T8 aip for a 70k pot. Still over average.

Played a hand absolutely terribly, then instant redemption winning flip to knock out Langley who was vshort, 140k, avg 150, 100 left 63 paid.

Shoulda got punished for slowrolling me :p

Sigh. Guy didnt fold AKhigh for huge river bet. Knew he had AK. Maybe bad bluff.

Down to 45k which is 15bbs

The only hand worth reporting on really is the hand that crippled me:

I've just been moved to a tough table. Mitch, Keith and PJ all there. I fold for a few hands then pick up Qs Js utg and open to 6k at 1500/3000. Folds to a big geordie (?) guy on the button who doesn't see I've raised and makes it 9k. So in his mind he's 3xing the button, but he's actually just min 3b me.

Obviously I just call.

Tc 8s 5c check, he quickly checks back. Oh you have AK. Cool.

2s, I bet 16k into 24. He calls. Oh you haven't folded AK yet? Cool. Get there please?

Th. He has about 90k left I have 100ish. The pot is now 56k. Give up? Maybe.

I decided to bet huge, 65k. It didn't work. He tanked for ages and called with AK. Nice call.

It became apparent during the next half an hour that I tried to bluff the wrong guy. And usually this is not something I attempt at all. I usually need a pretty good read on someone first before I try to bluff them. But I just thought can this guy really call off most of his stack with ace high near the money of a £1k with £120k for first? I thought not, but he did. Shit happens I guess...

I am going to put up a package for IPT Grand Final San Remo soon. It's a 2.2k euro buyin and I'm going to offer all investors in this package a piece in that at a small discount as I felt my illness this weekend hampered my play a tiny bit on day two and a made one terrible mistake which cost me 30k, and my bluff as mentioned above is probably bad and unlike me to get something like that wrong.
