On one of the first hands Simon Higgins raised with KK

Andrew Tuxworth called in the blinds and check called all three streets with A-J on a J high board

Higgins won the 150,000 pot and is a 380,000 chip leader

This is terriblenews. I now get 16 facebook messages an hour from smashedagain to tell me this.

Don't think I have seen a single day at DTD with a better field than this for update potential in all the years I have done this

Happy to answer any requests, take ideas for whereto look next, and will be able to focus far more on detailed hands when we've lost a number of tables....

Chinese Frankie raises and Alex Goulder clals in the big blind

Goulder check folds on a A-6-4 flop

Goulder shows 9-9

Frankie stands, indignant, and shows A-A which he places above the flop. Just in case I don't understand he has flopped set I suppose

"How can you not three bet?"

he enquires

Keith Johnson "on the same team, obviously" he deadpans

"no no its because he is so tight" Goulder tells the table

Frankie by now is babbling ten to the dozen

the table breaks and now, sat on one table we have Goulder, Mitch, Keith Johnson and Peejay

Its like a clique convention on there

Simon Higgins is the first player over 600,000

He raised pre

Jamie Rutherford pre-bet

Higgins, not a fan of folding even without the chip lead, calls

Higgins check calls on 5s 3c 9d

Higgins check shoves on the Ac turn

Rutherford folds, a little forlornly

Scunthorpe's Higgins, possibly about to disprove the theory that Scunthorpe is the pariah of UK poker, is a big leader

£50,000 GTD starting at 5pm

Needs 250 players at £200 spend to hit the GTE

Extremely unlikely, Simon says looking like a £25,000 overlay min which will be spread across the £100/£200/£300 buy in pools

I arrive to a commotion

Rastafish has called a river bet, a chunky one too, from Guy Johnson on a board reading

5-3-J-7-8

Guy has position on Rasta and the two have been tangling

One, all extrovert emotion

The other, all introverted introspection.

Rasts shows A-7

Guy mucks

"I KNEW IT" he exclaims excitedly "He had nut-tin". Mock Jamaican patois voice for effect

Return to cockney/east Midlands voice "Just got a big stack to bet with. I am not scared of him and his chips. I am the Fish. He will not scare me"

Says Johnson Rastafish

Johnson still has 450,000+ and is second chip leader behind Higgins with 700,000

Rasta fish still in there fighting though...

The MPP currently has 22 players

£50,000 GTD starting at 5pm

Needs 250 players at £200 spend to hit the GTE

Extremely unlikely, Simon says looking like a £25,000 overlay min which will be spread across the £100/£200/£300 buy in pools

Late reg til 7pm, if you are close enough....

Long shot Tighty but do you have any sort of current payout info?

Shortest stacks in the room? Ben Dobson and Richard Hawes

When we come back 3000-6000 average 232,000

Four levels left to play today. Hand for hand could be anything time wise then a speed up to probably bring 30-40 back for tomorrow

Nathan "Pinchop73" Davies in the small blind 13,000 at 3000-6000

Kevin Allen 29,000 in the big blind

Pinchop 45,000

Allen 61,000

This plays out over several minutes

Allother tables have completed their hands, and a crowd gathers, jostling at the sense of impending drama

Pinchop all in 321,000

CALL in a nanosecond

Allen  Kd Ks

Pinchop  Jd Td

A gasp from the crowd.

Four sub 25,000 stacks in the room are seen cartwheeling down the tiers at DTD

 2h Qd 2d

More gasps

Chinese Frankie kindly tells Kev that Pinchop has a flush draw

 4h

 8h

Nathan Davies bubbles and the 650,000+ makes its way to Kev Allen

The remaining 63 players have won £2000, and now for the rush of all ins

Paul Rayner limps UTG

Fraser Bellamy jams the button for his last 62,000

Newly moved to the table James Atkins rejams the big blind

Rayner folds

Bellamy K-3dd

Atkin A-Ko, which holds to knock Fraser out

The nline up on this table is now

Mitch Johnson
Rastafish
Devilfish
Atkin
Rayner
Adam Wilkinson
Bash
Kev Allen

Not so shabby, entertainment wise and I am stayinfg in the vicinity

Wilkinson just min raised the button
Bash called in the small blind
Allen 65,000 in the big blind
both fold

Allen definitely a top 5 stack

Mitch Johnson mins to 20,000

Rastafish 55,000

Rayner 200,00 all in small blind

Mitch passes

Rastafish thinks

His rail is silent

Rastafish eventually calls with 10-10

Rayner A-K

"Yes fish, knew it"

"Now hooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllld" he says so elongatedly he could be on half speed

The rail crowd, Rastafish stands up

7-3-5

"Yes fish" a railer squeaks as if Bob Marley himself is squeezing his testicles

2

"Come on fish"

8

Rastafish clenches both fists and jumps up and down as if on a pogo stick

I look round and his urbane friend Richard is doing a jig in a suit and a raincoat.

I double check. Yes it really is Richard

Rastafish howls at the ceiling. It must be a full moon

Full moon or not he is chipleader, the firstplayer over 1m, with 42 left....

actionman 3 bet shoves 19x bb 193,000 in the small blind against Ian Edwards 20,000 button open

Edwars, playing 300,000 makes what I considered to be a surprising call with A6ss

actionman 6-6

7-Q-K-7-10

actionman up to 400,000

Next hand Edwards shoves small blind 100,000 into Trigg's big blind with A-9

Trigg calls with A-10

Knocks him out 38th

Trigg now over 500,000

Rutter 400,000 or so playing directly out of position to Jackson Junior

Jackson Junior has opened 23 of the last 9 hands

Lad's a menace

Atkin is on table Fish Squared, Devil and Rasta, and has just recharged his IPOd. No flies on him

He has 450,000, and has position on the Piscenarians.

Bash Mahmood raises to 25,000 in the cut off

Rastafish 115,000 in the small blind

Dwell. call

A rastafish eyebrow raises

Bash "I am ahead fish"

K-5-10

check check

check check

A

check check

Bash Q-Q

Rastafish slams down Q-Q onto the community cards

"You little dumpling. What you mean I am ahead. You were never ahead Dumpling. You try to take on the fish. What happens if I move all in on the flop? You fold you dumpling..."

Bash, resembling a little Toad of Toad Hall, his head just peering over the felt at Rastafish counters "against anyone else it doesn't get that far does it?"

Rastafish "you tink you are ahead? I have Kings or Aces there ALWAYS. Be careful now I KILL YOU next"

Shared a table with Kev Allen for 8 hours yesterday. He took a battering around level 7 and was down to maybe 10 or 15 bigs. What a great comeback. Exceptional player and a great table manner.
