The structure is the same as last year, and I remember how great the value was, with very few travelling pros from the UK or names/faces I recognized.

9 levels today, 25k starting stack, am really well prepared and rested, leggo :)

First break. Got up to 38k with a flush vs a set I think, made another flush, was only 4high though and lost out to a bigger one (damn those reverse implied odds), only lost 3k there though.

Table is great. Ispt chap might be good, everyone else loves the game a lot.

One hand, guy is steamed off his face, down to 3.5k at 75/150, opens to 350 (is never folding) man 3bets to 900. Other Man cold calls. First man shoves of course. Second man calls. Third man calls 3500 with 11k back. It's ok though, he had Tc 7c and flopped two pair :D

Second break. Same news as the first. Up to 40 down to 33.

Rather than reporting my hands at each break which tend to be pretty boring and straight forward vs these guys, ill report the funniest hand I witnessed during the 2 levels.

Man limps for 200 mp Ah 2h. Dario Minieri raises 600, bb raises 2200. A2 man cold calls. Minieri allin 11k. Bb folds. A2man call! Gets there :D

Table break, damn.

New table isn't nearly as good. Played ultra snug then took off vs decent European guy who knew flush_entity. 3 bet pre and fired three on Ad 3h 5s Qs 9s, he check/jammed the river for less than a minraise so must've had Ax spades. Felt like a good spot till then :(

Defo folds all Ax by river, felt like I should either give up turn or fire 3, and I gave him credit for folding Ax and any other one pair hand by the river so went for it. Obv ran into the nuts which was just unlucky I think. Don't feel great now though.

16k at 200/400/50, sigh.

Bleeding one ante at a time.

12100 at 250/500. Need a spin, had no cards to work with all day. Got AK in level one and 99 once, other than that, f all zzzz

Sometimes, just pretending that you have a good hand works just as well as really having one.

Keep this to yourself tho, kind of a trade secret.

I open 8c 9c get two callers from hj (playing 7k lol) and bb. Js 7s 5s checks round. Turn 8h so i have dbl gutter and pair. bb leads 2600 into 4200 I call hj folds. River 8d, he bets 6400.

Seems ridic to fold, but I beat like no value bets (all two pairs counterfeited, any other 8x is most likely a suited 8 which = flush anyway!) and he's never bluffing when he bets turn. I called and unsurprisingly lost to 4s 2s.

Got 22k going into last level of the day, 400/800.

Grindddd

Made a 3700 chip profit on the day to finish with 28,700. #winning

It's 210k euros ftw btw, very tasty indeed. About 200 people left. Lets hope we get some hands tomorrow :)

Urgh just got put in such a gross spot.

20k stack opens 2500 at 500/1000 mp2, I have JJ in hijack, 3 bet to 5.5 to get it in. Then big stack scandi cold calls in the cutoff. Have just joined table and as soon as I sat down he snap asked me how much I was playing, looks competent (had his head in a book though so clearly not paying attention to tons of stuff)

Anyway, the original raiser just flats with 15k back.

Flop 532r he checks, I check (really worried about scandi) he bets 7500. Guy folds. I call (hating life) turn pairs the 5 bringing a fd. I check he bets 14k I have 34 total. Folded. Figured he check back 99/TT at this point. Pretty gross spot.

So back to a 30bb grind again...

Ok this is going to sound bad.

Table wasnt great, this scandi on my left had been bossing things and I guess he got in my head a bit, but I was so sure at the time that he would be super wide here.

Aggro big stack opens btn 2500 at 600/1200. I'm playing 40k in sb and 3bet Ahrt 5h to 6600 (pretty standard so far) then the scandi takes ages looking at my stack and makes it 10800 from the bb. Btn folds.

He knows that I know blah blah, he's just light here so often, if he has any KT QJ, A3 sort of hand he's gonna do that cos it puts me to such pressure for my stack and it's such a good spot. I have a ace blocker, suited equity, can make a wheel etc, so a pretty good hand to do it with. so i jammed and he called with AKs and held.

Beating myself up about it massively now and it looks so bad cos he had AK but I'm sure he would be light there so often and it would get through.

Seems perfectly fine to me. Don't beat yourself up about it. A well played hand IMO. You simply ran into the top of his range and failed to suck out.

Don't mind exit hand either.  Not a criticism at all but do you play the jacks hand differently if it is played an hour later?   Seemed fairly close to me at the time with less info on villain.

but yeh been there, piled them, one of those where you should definitely fold long term, ev in comp etc but still going to be fine to get it in too.

You always beat yourself up about these spots when they go wrong, but its not often you get it wrong

I've been kicking myself about this for days now. I went back to the tournament to speak to the guy in a break. He was actually busted when i found him, before the money, in his words in hilarious scandi accent "playing like a little bitch" :D

He told me he had AK in the JJ hand  ;grr; ;grr; ;grr;

I spoke to Eames about that hand and before I said what I did he was like urgh gross spot dunno what I do, probably call flop fold turn cos he's gonna shut down with 99/TT, which was exactly my thought process, so am happy about that and don't mind that I got bluffed this time.

Nice of you all to say the A5 hand is fine, makes me feel better even though I think deep down it was quite a serious mistake, and very unlike me tbh.
