Hello Blonde,

I'm heading out to Vegas again this summer to splash around in some donkaments and cash games. While I'm there I want to play 2 of the bigger tourneys downtown, but $1k is a stretch for me to spend on anything other than a night at the stripclub!

The comp is as below

There are 2 $1k tournaments according to their schedule, one on the 26th and another on the 1st July. I think due to the Venetian $1100 plo and WSOP $2.5k  on the 1st, that tourney is probably the better option. Purely guessing that some of the runners will chase bracelets, and the others will prefer to punt it up in the luxury of the Palazzo over the khazi that is Binions. I will probably drive over to Binions on the 26th and (LOL stereotyping) if the majority of players look older than my dad I may play on that day so I can totally focus on drinking during the 2nd week.

I thought this tourney would be really soft last year and there was a fair bit on the most part. However, there were a number of good players too and even some excellent ones like Brammer took a day out to slum it downtown. That said, there are plenty of people there who are possibly even as cerebrally challenged as myself and I'm happy to chuck a monkey at it for a punt.

I don't really play online much unless there is something I want to play, and generally only splash around in small comps which should stand me in good stead for Vegas.

I haven't played anything live this year for a few reasons, but played a few Genting comps last year and the DTD £500k GTD. Unfortunately I liked spending the extra night on hotel rooms and then getting close to the money, but getting nada, and all but bubbling the £500k thanks to Mr Keys :(

I'd say that while I think I am a decent live player, there will defnitely be a fair number of better players than myself in the field. Regardless, it's a donkament and if I flip well I might win some gold!

Should I win a chunk I'll pass it over to someone like Keys, that way I can't get robbed by hookers or knock the lot in at a strip club  :)up


So 50% @ spot is as below, rounded down to even numbers as per XE today because I'm a bit OCD like that...

10% = $100/£66
5%  = $50/£33
2.5% = $25/£16.5

Payments by Bank or $ in Vegas would be lovely.

Can't think of anything I'm missing, but if there is feel free to let me know and I'll endeavour to fill in the gaps.

I won't be updating during the tournament because Binions has only just moved into the world of aircon, and I think wifi is still a good decade away!

Shaun, I might do another thread and play the other $1k at Binions too, I'll have to reallocate some of my degen money, but I'll just have to make sure I don't smash the scooter up and take 1 less trip to the OG ;)

I'm seeing Shaun on Friday I think to sort the rest out, but hopefully will be weighing them in from the 26th comp!!

When we started there were 26 players, this ended up being 72 at end of late reg and 22k up top.

I have 17k going back to 200/400/50...

Only pots of note are bet folding AA on QJ7 in a 3b pot and then 3betting AK pre against same guy, he peels and we check it down on T9874 Q9 is good

HJ opens to 2k from 16k, I pile AQ from BB and he calls after about 30 seconds with AK which holds.

Next hand multple limpers, I make up with JQ and shove a J95  flop. I am called by T8 which gets service on 7 turn.
