Title: ISPT Direct Day 2.
Post by: youthnkzR on May 30, 2013, 11:26:51 AM
Morning all.

I'm looking to sell 50% of my ISPT Day 2 Direct buy in @ 1.2.

This isn't your normal everyday staking thread - it's basically going to be an interest list until near sold out - e.g. You can reserve a piece of the action - however i will only be selling once 40% or more has been sold.

There's gonna potentially be an overlay of <£1Mil which is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Pretty sure I'll have a sick edge in this field as I've played multiple 1k buyins live and online both £ and $ - and although thats not quite a 3k buy in, its alot higher then the average person will have played and therefore things such as money jumps... etc wont affect my decision making as much as others.

Also as well as having had a few big scores in the past, in recent weeks I've been very very close to multiple $100k+ scores online - most noteably; 23rd iPOPS main ($92k ftw) / 25th bigger 162 ($65k ftw) / 19th SCOOP 2 Med ($250k ftw) as well as other ridic deep runs in SCOOP:

SCOOP Results:

SCOOP 2 M - ($215 $1M GTD) - 19th for $3724 ($250K FTW)
SCOOP 18 L - (10 Max Shootout $100K GTD) - 916th for $70
SCOOP 22 M - ($215 $1M GTD) - 113th for $1362 ($250K FTW)
SCOOP 24 M - ($109 NLHE / PLO Mixed $100K GTD) - 88th for $322
SCOOP 31 M - ($215 Knockout $500K GTD) - 149th for $680
SCOOP 41 M - ($215 4Max $350K GTD) - 175th for $540
SCOOP 42 M - ($215 8Max $600K GTD) - 108th for $978 ($170K FTW)
SCOOP 43 L - ($109 Main Event $1M GTD) - 176th for $1083 ($230K FTW)
SCOOP 43 M - ($1050 Main Event $2M GTD) - 245th for $2625 ($635K FTW)

Came 73rd in the SCOOP Med leaderboard out of the tens / hundreds of thousand people who entered - which isn't really bad going considering i only play hold'em events and therefore only played around half the schedule.

I've only played a handful of live events since the turn of the year (GUKPT didsbury - we managed to make day2 and lost a big flip close to the money / GPS Sheffield  8d 5d <  Kc Kh on  6d 8c 9d for 2x average towards end of day1 / 300 DS - (end of day 1 / day 2 cant remember - didnt cash) / Monte Carlo (53rd) - cashed for £2000 where we stuck our remaining 16bbs in from the SB from active CO open - BB finds KK and holds).

Will be selling action in the 3k euro ISPT day2 direct buyin @ 1.2 which i hope / feel is more then justified considering the <£1Mil overlay + half the field quite frankly cannot win the tournament.

*I am playing one final satellite tonight - if i manage to qualify i reserve the right to cancel all booked %'s* - apologies i forgot to add this to OP.

Would also like to add that I've done numerous deals with many people on blonde in the past / have sold %'s on here before - any returns were paid same day / day after i received. Do regular xfers of $xxx with Pleno / Adam P / Borntobubble...etc on pretty much a daily / weekly basis so hopefully they can confirm my trustworthiness.

1% = 36 euros = £31
2% = 72 euros = £62
5% = 180 euros = £155

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I'm going to have to cancel everybody shares as I managed to make Day2 with the final Day1 bullet i was using as stated on OP. I will refund all money already transferred to me. Apologies for the inconvenience guys!

(The reason for the cancellation is that i managed to make Day2 with a pretty hefty stack in comparison to the 50k Average chips i would receive for a direct Day2 bullet - and therefore cannot sell for the price i was previously as i would be selling myself at a big loss)

P.s. Investors can still have their current %'s reserved for the same markup and equivalent amount relative to the new stack size (120k) if you guys wish. Let me know if interested either on here or via pm.

How are you working out how much 1% is now?

Cheers mate :) I cancelled all %s however at the prices I put up for direct buy in as I now have 120k chips and therefore if I sold at them prices I'd be selling myself at around (0.40) or something similar but investors have the option to buy at the new price which will be relative to the new chip count :) so if you want the 2% lemme know!

How are you working out how much 1% is now?

Gonna have to do it relative to chip count + markup @1.2

50k = 3k euro * 1.2 = 3.6k euro
120k = 7.2k euro * 1.2 = 8.64k euro

1% = 86.4 euro

(I'm sure this is the correct way to do it however if anyone knows otherwise then let me know as I'm not out to steal )!

hmm not really, if you double up you're EV doesn't double. A rule of thumb I made up but won't be far off is say X = starting stack - to square root the coeffecient of X. So if you have 100k, you have 2X. sq route of 2 = ~1.4, so you're EV is 1.4x what it was with starting stack.

So 1.4 * 3000 * 1.2markup = 5040euro, so 1% = 50.4 euros.

Works the same way but the other way around if you start with half starting stack like me. My EV won't be 0.5 x 3k, itll be roughly 0.7 x 3k (sq rt 0.5 = ~0.7).

Hope that helps. Would be interested in buying a piece at that rate.

All I did was give each chip a value mate as I don't know how these things are usually worked out and if its even possible to work them out 'correctly'. Will look over it when I get home guys!

Right guys just gonna used alex's method as i have no idea and he seems to know what hes talking about!

sq rt of 2.4 (120k in relation to 50k starting stack) is 1.55 * 3000e * 1.2 = 5580 euros

1% = 55.8 euros
2% = 111.6 euros
5% = 279 euros

Investors lemme know if you want your %'s by midnight tonight - if so money needs to have been sent - pm me for bank details / stars is fine!

Sorry again for the fuck about every1 its just tournaments like this never come around and therefore when situations like this happens not many people (or atleast who i know) have experience dealing with the numbers....etc.

Will still take 5%. stars ok?

Title: Re: ISPT Direct Day 2.
Post by: cambridgealex on May 31, 2013, 11:24:56 PM
One little point about that method is that technically the coefficient should be multiplied by 2700 not 3000 as the reg fee shouldn't be included in this bit.

So it's ((1.55* 2700)+300)*1.2 = 5382 so 1% = 53.82euros, but as it's just an estimate and there's only pennies in it obv doesn't matter.

Just posted for completeness sake before some smart alec tells me I did it wrong!

This doesn't look like real maths to me.

I don't feel like a mug when I take a rebuy in a tournament, yet your gut method suggests I am a fairly big mug for doing so.

ICM tends to devalue bigger stacks late on, but not nearly by the amounts suggested here.  I always figure that earlier on you benefit from having the biggest hammer at the table.  I am certainly a lot more comfortable with double the average than I am with the average, and I was under the impression that mid stacks were the guys you picked on when you had your big hammer.

If you had said that ICM suggests that big stacks aren't worth as much as the simple chip adjustment and docked 10% or so, I'd think that wasn't too severe, and may even be fair.  But by ignoring the more simple chip adjustment, and taking what looks very much like an arbitrary adjustment, there seems a danger that you have just constructed an argument that favours yoursrlf unfairly.

Like I said, I can't prove it, but it seems pretty close.

If you buy in to Wembley for 3k with 50k chips, and I have 100k chips already, my EV will be nowhere near twice yours. Ignoring skill and reg fee, it will be between 4 and 5k don't you think?

We started day2 with 120k av was 50k. 1st table was the best ever with like 3 frenchies and we chipped up pretty quickly. We then got kind of set up when a mate of mine; Ben Jones / jenbizzle on stars got seated to my direct left and within one orbit he'd already cold 5'd my cold4 i had 23hh over a whale open and a frenchie 3b we looked at each other and laughed but i either had to stick it in his eye or fold - i folded and he showed a 9 obv. We left that table with about 200k and then got seated on a new table. We had direct position on Peter Eastgate / also Tim Chung at the table - other then that it was good. We chipped up pretty quickly again to 240k before we lost a chunk to a massive whale on; J349...8. He called my opened to 2500 with KK @ 500/1200. He check called bets on flop turn and river and proudly flipped J8o marv river. We then bricked with 56ss on 7s8sKc for a chunk and ended the day with 182k.

Start of day 3 we were like 20/411 in chips. 380 Players paid. I arrived at a table which literally looked one of the best in the room. Started pretty quickly and chipped up to 210k within the first 30 mins by 3bing alot and running it over - along with another guy. We then opened Q2cc from Low Jack within 3/4 players of the direct bubble to 3500 @ 800/1600. Maniac 3bs CO to 9k playing what looks to be 130k total. I 4b just try coffin him on the bubble to 24100. He tank flats. Flop Q42hhh. I bet 17200 with the intending for him to raise. he makes it 37k. I announce all in viewing his stack as like 110k total. He Calls really quickly and then reveals his stack to be like 240k (covering us). He had 78hh and we failed to get there. Apologies guys for not returning - it's pretty brutal to stone bubble (within 4 of) especially by being kind of coolered especially when i try to set him up to raise flop with bet sizing...etc. Sorry to not return guys but min cash was only 500euros so wouldnt have been much anyhow - we we're more focused on the milly ftw! (Pot was for chiplead aswell)
