BREAKING NEWS: Dave Place , the other chip shop in the contest , put up about 6 posters everywhere in his other shops , where only the shop in Mansfield are in the contest . Seaqueen fishery gave away free choc bar to customers but u must vote for their shop infront of them . Fillet restaurant n takeaway , I think doing offers like buy one get one free and also if u sir down in restaurant u pay extra 25p n it's goes to the voting ? So most shops are trying to do any tricks and try to win this contest . Hopefully readers here can vote for me .. Thanks for Tommy and JK for helping me and all that voted .  Mansfield radio organiser just been to shop to have a taste of my Fish and Chips . They will come again on week 6 , which is the week my shop are broadcast on radio Mansfield for the whole week . The competition str getting hotter as the defending champion Seaqueen is launching the offer they usually do every year . They are the main danger in this comp because they won it twice in the last few years this comp is run . Also a new shop Barracuda is on next week . They are unknown but the shop is worth a fortune and the decorations maje my shop look dumb!! Hopefully I can hang on this week and hopefully week 6 , the votes for my shop will come in. Printed leaflets to pass around to every customers that visit my shop . Thanks for the votes .

Been for fish and chips twice in the past week or so. Still, in a completely unbias opinion, the best around. Took my son, Dad, Girlfriend, her Mum, will be taking my Mum at some point in the future and anyone else I know with a mouth :D.

The last 4 days was like me pushing and canvassing my customers / friends / mate / relatives to vote . It's hard this is and surely is harder than playing NLH or PLO . Spoken to the organiser this morning and asking how many voted I m behind Seaqueen . It's about 75+ votes which is not a lot considering the amount of mates I have !  People/blonde readers . If u go to a place that had wi-fi or free Internet , vote from there . Like if u go to Macdonalds , KFC or any places that had wifi or free Internet . Much appreciated . The more votes the merrier . Today I got about 20 unique votes from customer in the shop . They all get a leaflets , so hopefully they will vote online aswell when they got home . Going to do a promo next week , whick is my week . Thinking of doing raffles for customers to encourage them to do voting for me . BAD NEWS TODAY , we dropped to third place but only 53 votes covering top 3 places . This is my week and hopefully my customers/friends/mates will vote for my chippy.

This is my big week!!! Chocs bar ready , heroes sweets , lots of lollipops on counter for customers . FREE . Free raffles to customers that voted or not that come in the shop . Hopefully that will do the trick this week . Let it be it I win or not . Not giving up yet but it's very hard to compete with bigger shop that do 3/4 more business than I do . But u never know . Trying my very best with all your help . Just under two week to go .

The radio station broadcasting about the chip shop really helps a lot today . We gave away 135 raffle tickets out between 11.30am till 1.45pm and 5pm till 9.30 today . Hopefully from there we get  a few votes . Some customers voted in the shop straight away and say they will do it online when they get home . I think the raffle do the trick to help promote aswell as the radio station broadcasting . Thanks

Why not get them to announce it over the tannoy at the start of the MTT at the weekend. If 200 people are sat down surely 70 odd will vote, just make sure they connect to DTD wifi to get the separate IP ????

Maybe the 300 weekend is better as more Regs and weekend before comp finishes????

I think 3/4G don't work because the minute u vote on the device , it's reg ur mobile number and it still will let u vote on the 3/4G but I think the vote won't count . Today been the best day in the trade of fish and chips . I had 280 raffle  tickets given out till now and still have around 90 minutes before shop closed anc its thursday !! fish and chips busiest day is always Friday . The radio really help bring in lots of new customers . I am good though ( not a brag ) in cooking and frying fish and chips !! Thanks

Dave Plaice , the winner do a massive campaign 8 weeks before the comp starts in all his 3 shops . The printed about 8000 leaflets and dropped into people home and gave away cans in shop for vie voting . Considering what I done against them , like voting from blondes , tweeter , mates , friends , relatives and customers , I do well in coming third . But it's experience in contest like this . I DEFO WILL NOT ENTER AGAIN !! STRESSED ME OUT !! Thanks to all that voted . xx

The whole 'cans for votes', leafleting, spamming, etc makes the prize meaningless anyway. Pretty sure you know if your establishment is better than Dave's Plaice or not.

Why not suggest to the organisers that campaigning be limited to posters on display in shops? Easy to monitor and just disqualify anyone who transgresses.

I think this is entirely up to the organiser what's the rules are stated before the contest started . For example if , the national Election Day is up , they can't stop any politic party to campaign to get their votes . Thanks anyway for voting . I think I been rigged !!

Political candidates have to adhere to pretty strict rules about spending ( in this country at least).
