GENTING POKER SERIES II ANNOUNCES DUSK TILL DAWN LEG

13 October 2013, Nottingham:

GENTING POKER IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE the addition of a new land based location to the current popular Genting Poker Series (Series II), at Europe’s premier poker room, Dusk Till Dawn, in January 2014.

Dusk Till Dawn's online poker product is provided under license from Genting Poker in a three-year deal that was agreed between the two companies in March 2013.

Since the agreement the two parties have been working closely together to drive forward poker in the UK and today’s announcement and inclusion of a land based leg at Dusk Till Dawn within the GPS II schedule is the natural progression and replaces the online leg originally penciled in for this November.

Dusk Till Dawn is a popular Midlands venue based in Nottingham and the clubs 50 table capacity allows them to generate large fields and record breaking prize pools. As a GPS leg, the DTD event will carry Genting’s £100,000 tournament guarantee and a full live and online satellite schedule across Dusk Till Dawn and Genting will be announced very shortly. The dates for the new leg are:

8th Jan Wednesday Online Day 1A
9th Jan Thursday Live Day 1B
10th Jan Friday Live Day 1C
11th Jan Saturday Day 2
12th Jan Sunday Day 3

The Genting Poker Series generated more than £1.3million in prize funds in its inaugural season and the addition of the leg at Dusk Till Dawn looks set to drive Series II past that figure again.

Kevin Proctor, Poker Manager at Genting UK is excited about the continued success of The Series; “We are delighted that Dusk till Dawn will be hosting a leg of the Genting Poker Series. The event continues to go from strength to strength, players love the deep stack format. 60 minute levels and a starting stack of 25,000 chips mean every player enjoys plenty of action, no matter what the standard of their game.
With such big money available in the main event it is no surprise that the side games are pretty strong too and we make sure that the duration of each leg has games of every value to suit every type of player. What makes the GPS special is the mix of recreational players and professionals it attracts and online qualifiers have a good record of scalping the big names in the GPS.”

DTD Owner, Rob Yong believes bringing the GPS to Dusk Till Dawn could be one of their biggest events yet, "The GPS series is all about grass roots poker, with many opportunities for the man in the street to qualify and win life changing money, so I am very happy to be hosting a leg at DTD. I hope this is just the start of more collaborative projects between Genting and DTD as we both channel our energy in to promoting poker in the UK and attracting more new players into this wonderful game."

Qualification satellites will be running regularly throughout Genting Casinos across the country and Dusk Till Dawn, with online satellites available at gentingpoker.com, dusktilldawnpoker.com.

The streaming coverage on Genting Poker TV has been sensational this year for online poker fans watching at gentingpoker.com. Further information on the GPS and all the latest news can be found online at gentingpoker.com

Me too! Perfect buy in and venue and more importantly no big horse race that weekend. Nice.

The racing workers have been cursed these last 2 years with really good reasonable buy in events all on MASSIVE racing Saturdays. Let's hope 2014 is different and we can grab a bit of the fun of a deep run or a boozy weekend with pals.

Or both.

Am sure this will be a great tournament.

Have a couple of questions.

1. It says players can have one entry and one re-entry per day one. Does that mean in theory I can fire 6 bullets, two online and two on each of the day one's at the club?
2. The buy in is £400+40, but for 1a online it says £430+10. How does that work?

Cheers!

Hi

1. technically you could fire 6 bullets if you were so unlucky. entry + Re entry per day.
2. we have to charge a portion of the reg fee to cover online costs this is the reason its split to £430 + £10 essentially still cost to the player is £440 total

Hope that helps, We will be launching a joint sat programme in the coming weeks

So If I'm playing the online day one - £430 of my buy in goes into the total overall prizepool and £10 is rake? Have I understood that right? If I have then fair enough!

EDITED BECAUSE I CAN'T USE THE QUOTES!

Are any more Monte Carlo's planned?

Also, would be nice to have a small rake discount for the online day 1s of the various tournaments.

Would definitely encourage me to get an account and play them.

Hi

We have 3 x £1000 events I'm next 6 months - 2 pokerstars and 1 sky. Not possible to do our own Monte Carlo until after these events which take priorty. We hope to schedule a Monte Carlo into the 2014 calendar.

The costs of depositing the day 1 buy in ( net teller, u cash etc ) can be 5% - 10% plus a fixed % to ipoker - this means that online day 1's are not actually a cheaper option as some players think. Players are also paying reg fees for the whole of the tourney - not just the day 1. Online day 1's are available to players to help lessen the pain of regular travel and hotel costs - financially of course any venue would rather players come to the club and spend money there.

Your ongoing support is appreciated.

Cheers ACES

To qualify, 4x £440 seats GTD on DTD nightly in £50 satellites

Yes. It is Same day and next day re-entry

"Players can re-enter once on the sameday and or/re-enter to all future Day 1's, 'stack surrender' is available if you have 25,000 chips or less"

Don't forget we have Live sats across Genting cardrooms including tomorrow (Sunday 5th) at Newcastle, Stoke and Sheffield so if you're local then please show your support and win your seat for cheap :)

We also have Live MEGA SATS at DTD next week (Wed & Thurs) with 20 x £440 seats GTD in each.

Like Rob says we expect an estimated prizepool of £300,000 - £400,000 :)

Thanks Nicola

More press comment on next week's event

http://www.bluffeurope.com/poker-news/en/GPS-Nottingham-Prize-Pool-Set-to-Top-300-000_13924.aspx

It's TEN seats Guaranteed again Online on DTD and Genting from 8pm tonight

Luton Genting has made 26 seats for this in its weekend event and another satellite, think its fair to say that interest around the Genting venues is high

Hi Guys

Plans are in place to seat every single player who turns up for the first ever GPS held at Dusk Till Dawn :)

If you would like to pre-register for your seat then please do this via the poker client (DTD or Genting) simply deposit £440 and select the day 1 of your choice (please note both live day 1's state the start time as 1 hour earlier to allow us 1 hour to retrieve the names - then a late reg tank will appear)

If you have won a token please also register this in advance - your chips won't go in play until you arrive.

If you do register online please visit cash desk when you arrive so we know when to put your chips in play :)

You can download the software here if you haven't already - http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/download-ipoker.php

Why not have a go at winning your seat for £50 tonight online......

Hi Guys

The online Day 1 on Wednesday is looking popular - usually players are put off as not as many runners as live but this online day 1 will definitely be worth a shot for the travelling (and even local) players!

I expect 100-120 runners as we have ALOT of £440 GPS tokens in the system, many Live Genting satellite & bounty winners have chosen to play the online Day 1 and we already have 14 pre-registered with 1 day to go Smiley

We have a Wednesday 6pm £20 Rebuy LAST CHANCER for the Online Day 1 tomorrow with 10 x £440 GPS tokens GTD - you can use these tokens for the online Day 1 or Live Day 1's. Satellite will finish in time for the online Day 1 so perfect for flicking straight in Smiley

The online Day 1 has a 24 min clock, plays 10 levels with a 10 min break after level 10 for us to take chip counts and players then carry these chips through to Day 2 Smiley

Any questions please ask.

Thanks Nicola

Hi

No you will not forfeit the second token if you make day 2.

You can use it for a future DTD event ie GPS in September or trade up to another event :)

Genting set the rules for this GPS - but seriously, if we did a break every 3 hours for our Monte Carlo and then played 4 hours after dinner break - we would get lynched by the players. I don't know any tourney in the world that does/has done  what your recommending (that doesn't mean you're wrong though)? Are you really sure about this?

Hi Guys

Wow already 28 players registered for the online Day 1 (at 11am with 9 hours to go).... how many do you think we'll get for the online Day 1 tonight??

My prediction of 100-120 is looking good ;)

If you play the online day 1 you can play the 8pm online Mega Sat at the same time to win a re-entry if you're not successful in online day 1 OR save the £440 for another event if you make day 2.

6pm £20 Rebuy could be great value so if you can get online early I highly recommend it :)

Good Luck Nicola

Hi Nicola, Guess I read somewhere in this thread about Stack surrender! Is there any criteria regarding the minimum no of chips for doing that? say, you have 40k at the end of level 10 playing online, do you still get the option of surrendering the stack and reenter the next day 1?

There are over 100 in 1a Online with Late Reg open

Rob has put the following message out

"GPS IMPORTANT;

Dear poker friends if you/anyone are planning to play GP Series live at DTD on Friday Day 1c;

If you "can" play Thursday Day 1b (without inconveniencing yourself of course) that would be GREAT/MASSIVE FAVOUR and go towards helping us have smooth spacious day at the Club on Friday Day 1c .

Thursday will be wonderfully peaceful, tranquil and relaxing where as Friday will be manic - if you like manic them fair enuf!

We can seat 500 each day and our staff and dealers are prepared for a long shift.

Good luck to everyone who plays the Online Day 1a tonight from the comfort of their armchair Let's hope we have an amazing event with all the hard work put in by everyone - especially the Genting Card Room staff around all the different venues who have ensured we will be getting a field from all corners of the UK

 Cheers Rob"

Post by: DTD-ACES on January 09, 2014, 02:59:25 AM

In the interests of players' comfort and experience there will only be one Day 1 for the £150 Deepstack GPS Side event i.e. There will NOT be a Day 1a on Friday at 8pm as originally scheduled due to higher than expected numbers for Friday Day 1c of the GPS Main Event.

The GPS Side Event £150 Deepstack Day 1 has a new start time 5pm Saturday but guarantee remains at £50,000

The £100 Turbo will not take place as it has been replaced with the time change to 5pm for the £150 Deepstack.  will publish an amended schedule tomorrow.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support.

Cheers

thanks for info.  played the 150 side event and really enjoyed the structure.  £30k stack is awesome and 30 min clock!!
made day two with just over 100k!! but missed a spot last but one hand of the night.  had JJ and got pushed off them on a dead board with a shove bluff!....sigh!!!  could have been 160k if I would have made the call!! sigh x 2. lol.
need a kip!
