Title: Winter staking package - *just GUKPT for now*
Post by: cambridgealex on November 17, 2013, 11:28:28 AM
Hi guys, I'm selling for the following 3 tournaments coming up over the next month. Just selling GUKPT for now

GUKPT Grand Final £2125 = EUR 2537
EPT Prague Main Event EUR 5300
WPT Prague Main Event 3300

Total 11137 @ 1.257 markup = 14000

1% = 140EUR = 117.25GBP (locked)
2.5% = 350EUR
5% = 700EUR

Just GUKPT 1% = £26.71
5% = £133.55

Selling up to 35%.

I cashed in both EPT and WPT Prague last year, this'll be my 4th time there and I find it be one of the best value stops on the tour. I've never played the GUKPT Grand Final before, but the other legs I've played are encouraging signs as to what to expect.

I'm feeling really confident right now after winning the last live tournament I played, the GUKPT will be the next tournament I play so hopefully will keep the heat burning.

Thanks for reading, payment by bank or stars, same details as always.

Cheers,

Alex

2pc please TY

Thanks mate. Nice for someone to get the ball rolling!

Seems strange that, given that 18 blondes bought in a v similar package for Prague last year at same avg markup! Bit miffed - maybe I'm over the hill now :D

Expensive time of year/people under it?
Do the GUKPT on it's own thread?

Yeah, don't think it's the markup. People are just skint, it's Xmas and it's quite an expensive package in general. I planned to take a piece should I have come out of Sunday in profit, unfortunately that didn't happen..

I think it is the mark up, not a dig fo sho, but it's always the price

He sold a similar package here:

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=59401.0

EPT @ 1.23
WPT @ 1.28

It seems pretty much the same mark up, considering. So no idea why it hasn't sold that much, although it is a big package.

Not too sure how the MU is worked at 1.25 for GUKPT when you haven't played it before, but I am sure someone will be along to say "I've played it, so soft", or whatever.

Seems weird it hasn't sold, considering it did last time. Maybe people are actually skint!

Lots of threads flying around at the minute (including myself) Christmas people skint etcetera don't think it's any reflections on you Alex I think it's fairly priced up and the market will decide kind of thing. If this was posted with say no mark up I'm sure it would sell quicker just because people will invest as it will be a very good investment and take money from elsewhere to do it.*

Good luck. But I'm out. Bank balance has £0's in it but unfortunately there is a "-" before them. Some twats in Nottingham took my money last year felt like I got raped and pillaged.

* I'm not trying to suggest the mark up is to high I'm just saying if it was lower people would obv buy more as value is better when you have more £££ invested!

OK we'll I'll just sell for the GUKPT on its own for now, I'm keeping the markup the same as I think it's fair and good value for both parties. To back this up I'll buy whatever doesn't sell and pay the same markup (for transparency, in my deal with my backer, if the horse is selling action in a tournament, and wants to buy his own action, he must pay the same markup as other investors and it is taken off his make-up exactly as if it was a random investor).

So Ryan is booked, and we'll see what happens with EPT and WPT. I don't mind not playing, but I'll try some satellites and Ryan will have action locked in whatever he wants.

I've got no issues with the package Alex, but I'm just not buying much action at present. It is - or was - quite a big lump of money, too.

Win the lot.

Funny that you trying to freeroll me (and loads of other people) on WSOP shares and me calling you out counts as me fucking you about.

I've asked you twice privately to stop selling shares on here.

I've never freerolled anyone on a share i have bought and you knew full well where you could find me every day. Keys was also affected.

Well he owns the site so I guess he can choose who uses its facilities in the same way Rob Yong can choose who uses DTDs?

Think could be resolved by a face to face meet, originally told Flushy he was being silly trying to ban Alex from selling and was totally unnecessary but Alex suggesting Flushy was trying to freeroll him for $1500 is just simply ridiculous and posting about other peoples situations that he doesn't actually know that much about is just showing a huge immature and naïve side, so just have a meet up and speak about it face to face imo.

I've never freerolled anyone on a share i have bought and you knew full well where you could find me every day. Keys was also affected.

Apart from outing you in public, which I regret and apologised for, I know I handled that situation totally reasonably.

I needed the money in advance, gave plenty of warning, was unable to reach you and Keys, said I'd have to find someone else if I didn't get the money by X date, and then I did.

In the aftermath you suggested a face-to-face meet up - I was up for it, but then you seemed to think it was up to me to chase you up to discuss it - it should be the other way around. You didn't respond to PMs, except with one liners ignoring what I'd said.

You said you'd prefer if I didn't sell on blonde anymore, I asked why and again debated my case - no reply. So I continued to sell.

I'm never going to win an argument or get any support on here vs you. I hoped others who've been in the same situation with you would speak up, but I know that's not going to happen.

I have tried to keep my mouth shut here but I can't.

Blonde is free to us all.  Some of us put more in than others in terms of time and effort but most of us that do put time and effort in get something back whether that is tangible or not.  If you are a serious poker player and want to sell some action you can do it here on blonde and these days it is usual for you to charge a markup.  If, like Alex, you decide to sell 50% of the WSOP event with a markup of 1.5 you "earn" $2500.  That markup goes into your EV P&L whether you win or lose and you get the chance to play an event and make millions that you couldn't have done otherwise.  Because of blonde your earnings are higher than they otherwise would be.  Blonde don't charge for this. It is free.  Effectively this marketplace gives you an opportunity to earn extra money and do it with no personal cost to yourself.  Alex - you take advantage of this facility more than most and it adds fairly significantly to your earn.  You also charge higher markups than anyone else.  Fair game to you if the people will pay the price then you are doing nothing wrong but to then consistently call into question the morals of the guy whose financing is providing you that service seems at best arrogant and ungrateful.  You have gone out of your way on your diary to not discuss certain elements of DTD's policies with regards to professional players which, given you earn a living there, seems reasonable so why can't you allow Flushy the same courtesy given the money you earn here?  I think it is probably a bit petty of Flushy to not want you to sell action here but I also can't imagine how incredibly annoyed I would have been to have had my reputation called into question for not having paid for a stake 2-3 days before the event.  That said I can't imagine why, if you have been asked not to you would continue to sell here without even a courtesy phone call or pm.

I will reiterate again.  Blonde is free to all of us and we all benefit from it.  Flushy asks for nothing from the place but surely the very least courtesy we can extend to him is to settle any differences we have off forum and not snipe at him on here.

Surely this was all started because of a caveat on Alex's WSOP thread. I don't often keep up with long threads, but didn't Brammer have a caveat that he could buy back action, and everyone accepted it? Alex's caveat said that he needed to money upfront, which I think given the buy-in and Alex doesn't have piles of money lying around, is fairly reasonable. The conditions were stated, then enforced upon.

This was in no way personal towards Flushy. Alex made good on the promise to Keys as well, who is a good friend and has staked him. Reputation had nothing to do with it, everyone was treated equally. I think this is the main reason Flushy is offended, and why other people have took offence to what Alex did. Flushy and Keys have very good reputations for money etc.

I think anything that happened inbetween the buying and the cancelling is miscommunication from both parties. The aftermath Alex admits he was OOL with how it was handled. He could have pmed both Flushy and Keys and just said "x% freed up" on the thread.

Honestly, I think both parties have been a tad petty. People have been offended, only natural. Dubai has hit the nail on the head in saying just sit down and sort it over a drink (flip for who pays it so no more arguments :D). Alex is a nice, reasonable guy. I dont know Flushy but can only assume the same.

Alex accused him of trying to freeroll him.  He uses the same language again above.  That is a lot different from saying "I said I needed the money by x and it hasn't arrives so x% is freed up"  The accusation was clear at the time and given it has been repeated again it seems pretty ool and from what I remember Alex had a bink very early in his trip so it wasn't a case of not having the free cash lying about.

I'm not jumping in on anyone's side but you really can't say stuff like this (unless you have hard, hard evidence) in public. It's bad form, and if you always stick to the etiquette of these things people usually do the same for you, which is important.

Yeah think Alex may have been right to offer the % elsewhere, although could have been resolved way easier I guess, but it was pretty clear in the OP, but the terminlogy used was definitely wrong and pretty dangerous and as Redarmi said, especially on this site it was ool.

Whoa

They have both been in the wrong at times, but I don't think Alex dragged this all up again.  And of course Alex shouldn't have responded the way he did.

Suggest those with grievances are better keeping out.

Can we draw a line?  Both seem top fellas though would prefer it if they charged smaller mark ups.

Cheers

I really didn't want to drag all  this up again. Alex wanted the money up front, he re-sold my action a week before the event started. I had no communication from him via either email, PM, 2 phone numbers or word of mouth, he did post on here he wanted the money but i was a guilty of not checking the thread again after booking the action.

Alex no-one has been 'in the same situation' as you.

This is the first time I have used the 'its my ball' card in god knows how many years of owning this site, that is the level to which you have fucked me off over this whole thing.

I'd like to firstly apologise again for the freerolling comment. I didn't really ever think you were freerolling me. Slowpaying, big timing - yes but not freerolling. I used that term out of anger and frustration that you'd brought all this up again when I thought it was water under the bridge. Definitely out of line from me I admit.

I do think there's fault on your side too (your recollection of events differs from mine somewhat) and if you could see that and accept that, I'd like to reconcile and make peace, if you'd be willing, we can Skype or whatever.

Regardless, I'll respect your wishes to not sell on here if you're serious about that.

Same as Red-dog + Pleno scrap if you guys had 15minutes chat you'd get along swimmingly!
