We are up to 157 runners at the start of level 2

I caught details of one of the 4 exits in the first level

Niall Farrell opened

Rubin Phan 3 bet and was flatted in the blinds

Farrell 4 bet. This at 50-100 with 25k started

Phan called as did the third player

 Qc 6h 3h flop

Farrell led for 5,000

Phan all in for 20,000

Fold by the blind

Farrell calls with Pocket Kings

Phan  7h 4h

Phan bricks twice and is out (temporarily?).

---

Farrell and Tim Chung are early chip- leaders

Chung found Mark Warnock bluffing all the way to the buffers with King high and, I gather, found a call for his whole stack with second pair on the first hand of the tournament

Meanwhile I was hanging around a table with redbull, Honeybadger, peejay, bookiebasher, raggy clarke looking for action

I had to settle for action from Honeybadger's vocal chords

"Fifteen bananas" he tells the dealer as he bets 1500 on a flop

"Thirty two bananas" on the 3200 turn

wins the pot...pause

next hand is dealt

off he starts

"its my ambition to win a poker tournament before April 7th my birthday. You need a lot of luck and skill to win one and I never have as I have no luck and no skill...."

pause...before he meanders verbally in another direction.....

change it every two levels, at each break

think this serves a couple of functions..no one table spends too long as the feature (under lights etc) and the viewer gets to see different players

Fun and games with Simon Deadman

After a raise and a call he overcalls with J-J for 1600

Tom Zhang made it 5,000 in the big blind

The opening raiser and flatter call again

Deadman makes it 17,000

Zhang all in 70,000

fold fold and back to Deadman playing 120,000

Call

Deadman's JJ holds against Zhang 10-10 to take Deadman into the chip leader

--

An orbit later

Michael Lum is in Zhang's seat afrter a table move

He opens to 2500 UTG+1

Deadman 6800 in the big blind

Lum all in 25,000

call Deadman  Ac Kc

Lum  Ks Kh

flop  8c Jc 3c

It's Rum for Glum Lum and he is out of the door before the  6c Th board is complete

Simon Deadman a 240,000 chip leader in level 8 with 115 of 250 o0r so today left. About 4x average

Umar Khan from Sheffield, who never met a competition Day One which he wasn't chip leader of, has 240,000 and is on the heels of Deadman. One player at his table looked at me, looked at Umar's stack,. looked at me again and shook his head slowly with such a doleful expression it almost made me offer him counselling.

--

David Milligan has 60,000. Thats about average. Onesie makers of Lincolnshire are girding their sewing machines at the prospect of what will follow if he cashes on late Saturday

---

One of the early leaders Niall Farrell is out. From the size of Sacha Brookes' stack to Lee Williamson's left, I deduce that he did the damage

----

Ken Billups is up well over 100,000. I waited expectantly to be told of his good fortune, but he went all coy on me. As Yorkshire poker players tend to. Not.

We are about to hit the break after 8 levels with 2 left to play

100 of 250 remain, blinds going 500-1000 and average 65,000 with a 1am finish

On the feature table now

Kev Bloor and his silvrikined hair
Graham "The Wizard" Pound and his Pork Pie hat
Kirit "not sure about the goatee mate" Patel

and others

--

Iqbal Ahmed raises and Barry Neville 3 bets him

Ahmed 4 bet shoves setting Barry in

Barry bristles, raises his shoulders and calls all in with A-K for 40,000

Iqbal? Quack 2 Quack 2

the board comes out blanks until a deuce on the river seals the deal for Iqbal

I am staying clear of the car park until I know Barry has told the stories to enough people to get it out of his system

---

Meanwhile Chris Vernon has taken off his hat, which has let to a big increase in his stack up to about 170,000

He flopped top set of Jacks on an Ace high board to double

He had Jacks again and held against underpair and flopped straight draw

He then had AQ on a Q high turn and managed to get it in and called by five high. Although the five high was an up and down straight flush draw, which proceeded to miss every straight and flush out on the river

Vernon is co-tabling with Simon Deadman, who miraculously still has his stack. The pair of them look like a slightly underfed advert for Gap Kids.

Meanwhile a table breaks and Peejay is moved directly to the right of Simon Deadman and his ever growing towers of clay.

Peejay had apparently forgotten he had made day 2 of a winamax comp and is now busy grinding that on his mobile phone while coping with Mr Deadman.

Yes. Had about 90,000 on my last pass by.

David Lloyd isn't in, and is on the Dealers. Good old Lloydy, he'll give as good as he gets on there.

Cheers, last couple of times I've text him at DTD, he's gone out almost straight after. If he busts soon it can be your fault this time.

Sacha Brookes limps UTG for 1200

A caller in mid position

Sinem Melin 3500 on the button

both call

Brookes leads for 4,000 on  Aspades 5c Qs

Melin the only caller

Brookes 4,000 on the  Td turn

Meiln calls again

 Jc river

Brookes fires again for 11,000

Melin raises to 36,500

Brookes thinks, re-checks his cards and presumably realsies he doesn't have a King and she does

He thinks some more

I wonder what I am going to have for breakfast.

He folds.

Melin has chipped up nicely in the later levels of the night, now over 150,000

With now over 300 runners in the place is hectic

A misture of re-entries from yesterday and fresh faces, eager to battle for what is as of now a £280,000 prize pool but will be much more come 11pm tonight

Seat draws are important in any comp

One poor re-entry from yesterday saw John Eames park himself to his left five minutes in

The blinds increase as we begin the second level of the day.

They are now 75/150.

We have 332 Entries so far.

Its Friday, its the weekend (sort of) and I am hoping for more interaction than yesterday. So if you have any requests for chip counts or tables I should be following please let me know

The current seat draw is at  http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/result-info.php?id=3874

Hopefully they have the same playlist as yesterday on. Heard the same boys 2 men song and Craig David tune approx 22 times. It was incred! Whoever was on the decks needs a raise imo.

Sporadic updates on Craig Betts and Sean Randall would be appreciated by myself.

table 54! rexas and adiman!!

I went up to table 54

On arrival I was met with a commotion

A gentleman of a certain vintage is in seat 2.

Rexas is in seat 3

The gentleman shouts out to DTD security walking the room

"Hey, If I have to listen to much more of this f***in crap. Can you get him (points at Rexas) to stop?"

Rexas chuckles, as nervous as a Tomcat on the day of the big chop

The gentleman then takes Rexas' ludicrous hat off his head and flings it at leas ttwo tables across the room

Its time for a dealer change

Gentleman tells new dealer

"Well, you should hear what we have to listen to..."

Catching up on a couple of early exits

Christopher Kadji raised

Rebecca Sykes from Sheffield called in the blinds with  9s Ts

the flop came  Js Qs Th

Hello there.

She gets it in via check raise and calling a shove against  Ac Aspades

the turn comes a Queen

the river another Jack

so by the end Rebecca is playing the board

She is out and contemplating re-entry

Mohammed Qureshi raises and Julian Lefevre calls

flop comes  Td 6h 9d

Qureshi leads, Lefevre raises and Quereshi shoves  9c 6c

Mr Qureshi has built himself a reputation in the first level for playing any two, and Lefevre decides to call off with  2d 7d, flush draw, straight draw "and I though I might have had an over too"

turn  Ad to knock Qureshi out to the re-entry desk

Sean Conning is here. I spotted a glistening pate across a crowded card-room and it is indeed him. Doesn't look like is in workk clothes though

--

Julian Thew and John Eames have played a few pots side by side. Nothing going to showdown to report as such but slight advantage to Thew from the tangling

--

Mo Muse has joined the Sean Randall, Peter Wigglesworth, John Burberry table. Burberry iss till the chip leader. Can't see a stack in the room that approaches his 80,000

--

Chaz Chattha has sat down on a table including Martyn frey and Nick Crisp. Saw Frey raise with 9-9 flop a set and get paid against Crisp's top pair in the blinds

--

I am now  going to venture back onto the top tier, which is Rexas country, where no one is safe from the witty cutting badinage of the beardy hatted one.

Paul Bahbout opens to 600 at 100-200

James Thomson calls in the cut off

Paul Zimbler calls on the button

Shaun Conning calls in the small blind and so does the big blind

They see a flop of  Jh 9h Jd

check to Bahbout who bets 500

Zimbler calls

Conning check raises to 2000

Bahbout raises to 4000

Zimbler folds

Conning calls

turn  Tc

check check

river  Kc

Conning 4,000

Bahbout 10,000

Conning gurns and shakes his head

He eventually flicks in the extra to call saying "I suppose you've got there"

In fact Bahbout was already there, relaxing with a cocktail on the flop with  Js 9s

Conning reveals  Qc Jc, on a board that got worse for him as it went along, little did he know

yup 10-10 into K-K of Mr Bahbout for claypole who is on his second bullet

elsewhere Nathan Davies, Pinchop73, eliminated Raggy Clarke with 10-10 v A-J all in pre with Raggy short to start the hand

James "Bolly" Conway from Sheffield is one of the chip leaders. He was led into on the river of a J-Q-2-4-K board by the big blind. Conway set him in and the big blind called off and mucked when shown K-Q. Would have ben interesting to see what hand worse than top two he could call all in with.

How is ice shade doing?

As they came back from the break he has 25,000 at 200-400

Other counts from a walk round

Julian Thew 75,000

Wadey Ashraf 65,000

Sean Randall 21,000

John Burberry 80,000

Andrew "second bullet" Psaras 15,000

Shaun Conning 45,000

Nathan Davies 130,000 and probably top 3 in chips

Rexas 80,000

Jerome Bradpiece 20,000

Jamie Burland 35,000

Ian Gascoigne 45,000

chip leader with over 150,000 appears to be UKIPT Isle of Man winner Duncan McLellan. He knocked out Liam Batey caling a 4 b shove from Liam Batey with QJ and won against 10-10. Won another big pot when turning a King high flush where the turn card gave his opponent a set of nines and he couldn't get away from it

ok we have anew chip leader with over 200,000 and wonder of wonders I was passing when the big hand played out

Adam Wilkinson raised UTG and Janis Nikolovskis in the big blind, already a big stack, peeled

 9s 5d 4d

Janis led out, Adam raised and Janis raised again

Wlkinson shoved, for about 60,000 at 300-600

Not too many hands he could have in this spot. Overpair maybe or what he did have  9h 9c

Janis looked at his stack, looked at what was in the middle, shrugged a shrug and called with  Kd 3d

"ooooooooooooh" exclaimed Wilkinson

 Qd on the turn

obligatory stunned silence  from Adam as he departed and Janis became chip leader

Title: Re: GPS Nottingham Day 1b and 1c
Post by: TightEnd on January 10, 2014, 07:24:06 PM
Joe Laming is out, open shoving AQ and being met by a reshove from Michael Kossov with KK

The Q-J-10 flop held out some hope for a junior Laming, extinguished on the 6-3 turn and river

--

Sean Randall is doing well, over 50,000 which is a doubled stack from the last time I went by

--

In a row on table 13 Pinchop with a top 5 stack and 150,000 are Julian Thew and Jonathan Kalmar both with above average stacks

Quite fun watching those three play. Pinchop, Nathan Davies is very understated at the table. Deliberate movements, considered judgements and a deathly pallor.

---

Sunny Mistri is going well up over 80,000 after winning a 65,000 pot against Steven Chandler

On  Jh 5h 3h 9s 8c

Mistri led for 5700

Chandler 15700

Mistri all in 50000 getting the fold

---

Biggest stacks of the half of the room currently absent on break are

Paul Grummitt 150,000

Simon Brooks 130,000

Olurotimi Rogers 130,000

--

Garry Hallows aka smokynuts the Sheffieldbiker is also a top five stack with over 150,000

In a battle of the old timers Maurice Samuels raises and Victor Bunting, short-stacked shoves. A third player Richard Wong folds to the shove and Samuels calls with A-K, and he is up against 5-6

Wong tells the table

"I folded pocket Tens"

to general bemusement

He throws his hands on his head when the flop comes Q-10-10

the turn is a 2

when the river comes a (presumably a fifth one in the pack) Ten as well, Wong looks a little sheepish.

The table has been taking the mickey ever since

Meanwhile the chip leader Janis Nikolovskis has given some back, losing a 60,000 pot with Kings, against the Aces of Simon Taberham all in pre

Janis has the King of diamonds and the flop came 5d 3d 9d

Simon can't have been too confident but he held on the "brick for diamonds" and "brick for kings" turn for river

Chip counts for Dean Swift, Micheal Arnold and Joe Russell please

I can only see Michael Arnold of these three still in the competition I am afraid, though I could have just missed the others on the list

Arnold has 55,000

We have a new chip leader as we hit the break with one level left to play tonight

Tim Slater has 280,000

He knocked out Jason Herbert when Herbert jammed 18xbb with 9-9 over an open from Slater, who called with Aces

He then went on a great run, apparently, winning small pot after small pot until the monster

A 200,000 pot all in pre flop against James Bolly Conway

Conway AA v Slater KK, all in pre with Slater just covering

King on the flop knocked out Conway and sent Slater to the heights

It looks like tomorrow's Day 2 field will begin, at 1pm with about 270 runners

Going to be a long one!

43 online 70 odd yesterday and 160 or so from today

Going around the tables in the last half an hour of play

Paul Grummitt has 160,000

Timothy Chung 150,000 and likely to be dangerous tomorrow

Mark Mccluskey gonig well, well above 100,000

Mahamed Muse has a stack, nothing new there

Jamie Burland has nearly 100,000

Steven Warburton up towards 100,000

Tim Slater still chip leader. Towers and Towers of chips

Nathan Davies and Julian Thew have been side by side for hours. Both have lost a bit of ground, Julian paying off a turned set of fours from Harprit Singh Gurnam on the river

Greg Hill just got his 70,000 in QQ v QQ for the anti climax

Craig Betteridge has been around 75-100k for hours, but thats plenty for tomorrow

Garry Hallows will bike back to Sheffiled tonight with well north of 100,000
