Kevin Houghton doubles through Garwo Chu on the first hand A-K shove over an A-10 open/call

James Atkin knocks out Ben Longstaff in the first few hands

Longstaff raise/jammed 10-9 suited to an Atkin 3 bet with A-Q

10 first card out, then a Queen, Longstaff turned a flush draw but missed his outs on the river

The live stream should be starting about now on DTD site and the Genting blog with JP Kelly on the feature tables

Its a half hour delay, and because of that its unlikely I will be able to cover the final much because of spoilers - they want people to watch the stream, obviously, not get the info from a live update

It remains the Simon Deadman show on the outer table

He raised five hands in a row, to 80,000 each time

three folds picking up the blinds and antes

then a 3 bet from Niels in the big blind to 160,000 and Deadman 4's to 500,000 getting a fold

then on the fifth hand he was called by Mats Rosen and in the big blind Grant mercado

Flop 5-A-A

check to Deadman who bet 80

Mercado check raised to 200

Deadman 500,000 again getting the fold

blinds are just going up to 25-50k with average 1.7m

Not watching the stream, no, I want to be able to jump in & out of the Update.

Not sure it is correct that those who don't watch the stream get denied a proper written update, because of spoilers, but that is the Sponsors wish, so we must accept it. In reality, what it means is that I don't bother with reading the Update. Doubt I'm alone, either.

Must be galling for you, having reported for 3 days, & worked hard, to suddenly have to sit on your hands & effectively abandon your Update.

Nothing would make me watch the stream, watching poker does not interest me enough. Updates & Live Streams, imo, struggle to co-exist. One or other works for me, but not both.

Obv, I'm grateful that Genting & DTD at least try, but I'm not convinced the two platforms, written & streamed, co-exist well. The delay on the Stream is the reason, of course. I understand the reason for the delay, of course, but it is a proper spanner in the works.

I can see it from the point of view of the organiser. The stream costs a pretty penny (equipment, manpower, bandwidth) and is the focal point for people to watch from the point of view of the Tour

Anyway, I am yet to find a proper solution to updating finals in print in a live stream world

Well yes, absolutely. But it just means many of us, who prefer not to have to watch a Live Stream for 10 hours, lose our traditional update. I have things to do, allotment to weed - I may even be playing poker on Genting or DTD! - so I can't stay glued to a stream all day. With a written update, I can pop in & out, & not miss anything.

I still think Genting & DTD are offering us something for nothing, I accept that, so am not complaining, just answering your questions.

Ah right. Well that fact about Cheney was hitherto an unknown unknown for me. Now, however, it has become a known unknown. And perhaps when I google it, it will become a known known. Or maybe I might shortly remember that I already knew about it. In which case I guess it would be an unknown known right now. I have no way of knowing whether it is currently an unknown known or a known unknown.

Okay Dave, to clarify...

It is a known unknown that I don't know whether Cheney's speech about known unknowns and unknown knows is currently a known unknown or an unknown known to me.

I must say, this is far more entertaining than reading that clueless idiots play A-J. That much is known.

Good luck to all the Finalists.

Just a shame that honeybadger and his huge bunch of bananas is not one of them.

Anyone watching the stream, take a close look at Paul the dealers eyebrows.

Very sculptured for a man with a beard, I think you'll agree.

Step aside Tighty, we have a new star updater. Detail, detail, detail.

For Mitch to be that focused is a testament to DTD closing their kitchens at 2am.

Great effort this week Tighty

And Simon - run better mate ;)

Sick deal. These days online it's pretty difficult to get anything other than ICM. Life tho.

If it was a Dtd run comp they'd have to play it out

Another great run and performance by Simon. Always great to chat to and play against and now revealed he is a sick deal maker to add to his armoury. Wp all, great event!
