With 184 runners and 40 re-entries in flight one today

in level 7 600-1200

Will Lillejord is the chip leader with 220,000.

He got most of them with AQ v AK raising pre, being flatted, leading A-2-3 being called, Q on the turn and getting the lot

Shelley Bedi has 40,000 on her second entry of this flight

Vnodh 115,000

Tomsom 40,000

h/Hugh black 50,000

Nick Todd 35,000

Dave "every comp" Nesbit 75,000

Gordon Goodall 50,000

John Sadler 65,000

not too many regulars in this flight, which surprises me

michael holmes 190,000

connor green 180,000

rob boon 170,000

The 5pm flight has started with 116

Registration open til 10pm

So in theory one can finish this leg and hop into the 5pmer too??  If one doesn't have in  excess of 450k say??

yes, Simon announced yesterday that late reg on the 5pm finishes AFTER the 12pm flight finishes

so if you have the tokens, or another £60, you can have another go to get a bigger stack

Tom Somerville was up to 170,000 in the early flight

lost QQ v A-10 to go right down

has just doubled to 60,000, doing his best to "bust and try again in the second flight"

He reshoved 3-3 over a raise and a shove, with that intention

the original raiser passed 8-8

3-3 beat A-K on an 8-8-x board!

Hi all!

This is BMoney, I'm lending a hand with the live updates in the Grand Prix today. Very excited to get started, and pleased to be helping out.

Just done my first walkabout, and everyone is very focused. They seem to have cut the chit chat for now, as the card room is full of the sound of riffling chips.

There are a few big stacks thus far, all of whom seem to have about 200+:

Glenn Ashworth
Ross Patman
David Ridout
James Millard
Michael Wright
Anthony Lawrence
Kayleigh Bate
Junaid.k Malik.m

Will be back with more updates!

Big hand! It all went by so quickly, but I have the juicy details.

Up at Table 57, things don't seem to be going terribly thrilling. Ian Gascoigne demands some action: "Come on, ladies, let's play some poker!".

Give the man what he wants. Next think I know, there's a three-way all-in between John Deabill, Sarah Evans and Gerald Luders.

The board is  7h  6s  Ac  5c  3d.

John turns over a pair of 7's, knocking out Sarah with a pair of 2's and Gerald with Ace-Jack.

Sam Popple is in the last hand before the break

"I always get a big hand just before a break" she tells the table

She's UTG

She looks diown at Jacks

She raises

5 callers

7-9-J flop

she leads, 2 callers

5

she bets, 2 callers again. 10500 this time

she moves all in for 28000 on the river and is called by 7-7

set over set takes her up to 115,000 in flight 2

In the 12pm entry of the Grand Prix, one of our big stacks is Craig Bennett. Very cool character. "Oh, just about 350K," he says. No big deal, you know. The average is 221K chips at the moment.

Interesting hand at Table 37 between Trevor Greenway and Carla Goddard.

Jc  Td  6c

Turn 8d

Trevor shoves. Carla declares "I shall give you a spin" before calling.

River  Qc

Trevor rivers the win with QQ over Carla's J8, and has doubled up to about 100K.

Ian Gascoigne bought into flight one with 50,000 at level 8 with the intention "to get a stack quick"

In level 13 has 500,000 and is walking around to "keep out of trouble!"

UL hand for Sam Popple vs Ross Macintyre, but she's holding on!

With Aces, Sam raises to 2900 pre. Ross calls.

 Jd 9s 8s

Ross checks to Sam, who raises to 5700. Ross calls.

2h

Ross checks again. Sam makes it 10700.

Td

Ross makes puts in 15 000, and Sam calls.

He turns over Qs 3s. It should have been a sure thing, but Sam goes from over 100K to 55K.

there are currently 310 in the 5pm flight, open to 10pm

currently 1927 total

tomorrow? must have a chance of 800 entries. finger in the air, final day one rush etc etc

that would leave it 300 or £15k short currently

there has been a rush into the second flight

now 246 entries and 86 re-entries

open to 10pm

that makes 334+235=569 entries so far today

and total 1951 total

chances to get close to 2000 by the end of tonight and an outsdiers chance of hitting the GTE tomorrow, needing 3000

I remember the final day one in the previous grand prix, the first in this "non forfeit have another go" format

HECTIC! Hoping for more of the same tomorrow

Donald Jones and Abdul Khan in an all-in pre flop on table 27.

When Donald shoves, Abdul flicks it in and says "let's have a gamble, then".

The board plays out: 2c 5d Ts 6d 8s

A pair of 9's wins against Qc Jc. It was a even pretty flip pre!

In other news, CHIPPYMAN has a huge stack with just about 450K chips!

well this stack disappeared with Q5 (after winning 87 v JJ v AK to get to 95,000) so the final GC bullet is going in just before the 10pm cut off

Caught the tail end of Kellie Gale's exit hand vs Tahir Ahmed.

I wandered around to the table just as both players turned over AK.

Terry Tomlinson and Gareth Watkins gave me the scoop: Tahir hit a four-flush and knocked out Kellie: two hearts on the flop and two more on the river.

Darren Moore goes all in with pocket 9's vs Philip Quinn with  Ac Qc. Seems like a flip.

The board plays out: 8s Tc Kh 8h  Aspades

Philip's the favourite through to the turn, but gets rivered. Another one bites the dust.

Feel a bit bad reporting all these exits!

Making friends !got 2 chips to get in before 10pm

I'm guessing that George hasn't prepared a romantic candlelight dinner tonight.

well this stack disappeared with Q5 (after winning 87 v JJ v AK to get to 95,000) so the final GC bullet is going in just before the 10pm cut off

She's a one woman overlay reducer....

I tried, was much fun indeed!
Good luck to those who got them, enjoy :)

965 people played the final two flights of the last Grand Prix

looks like it will be quieter than that today. Maybe the Easter Effect, maybe a couple of other events elsewhere, but I hope DTD get close. They keep pushing the boundaries.

I am involved in admin and stuff but will keep you updated through the day before going full bore for the final day/last few tables

Number of entries so far 248 after 2 levels

the field is on the upper tables, keeping the bottom two tiers clear for the 5pm flight. That should be packed once Easter family stuff is done

After 4 levels of the first flight, with entry open for 9 levels, up to 284 runners with a trickle of new entries all the while

271 remain as we hit the break

exits are, though i expect some to re-enter..

275    Sunil Mistri
276    Leonarda Costa
277    Karen Arthur
278    Wesley Scoffins
279    Ganesh Jayaraman
280    Aidan Shorter
281    Ian Turner
282    Jay Edwards
283    Sirous Salehi-bakhtiari

A sigh of relief from me at the departure of 283rd.

blinds are 400-800 next and the action is across 28 tables

There are 296 entries and 36 re-entries in level 5

entered since the break

Willie Tann
Rastafish
Tony Nicholls
Duncan McLellan the UKIPT IOM winner
Raggy Clarke

as locals and regs roll in after Sunday lunches

I can't get to all of the tables but chip leader of those  I can see is Mark Hollyoake with 125,000 over double average

aero4/karen arthur one of the race to ten entrants is on the second bullet today with 60,000

Paul Pitchford has the same

Vanessa Haney 70,000

jakally 20,000

Frank Fanagan 90,000

JJ Hazan 70,000

Sean Randal 70,000

Jlian Lefevre 75,000

Sulphur Man 60,000

things will get very hectic later, as tokens lapse after today with no value so players with them spare might as well play fast and loose and get a stack, or try again, ahead of tomorrow

We are up to 400 in the first flight (311, 89 re-entries) which is encouraging. It is open til 5pm

244 remain, at the break at the end of 800-1600

I wonder how busy it is going to be tonight? the 5pm flight registers til 10pm.

not getting a chance to do many updates, but Iwill tomorrow when things settle down

132 are in the 5pm that has just started

queues, which is good

it amazes me that in the eleventh Grand Prix, where you need to buy in online, and get paid out online, that roughly 1 in 4 buy ins today need a new online account having not had one previously!

The final number in the 12pm flight was 409

145 are left in Level 11 of 16 today

Julian Lefevre the chip leader with 350,000

--

In the 5pm flight there are 215 in in level 2. I thought it would be much busier than that

totting up the entries are at 2584 needing 3000 to hit £150,000

l guess we moght end up £10-15k short, though the next few hours will be interesting to see

registration open til 10.15pm

282 in the 5pm flight in the first break after 4 levels

3 hours to buy in

2651 total

How close we get will depend on how many of the 12pm flight go into the 5pm when it finishes.....

I think DTD have beaten the total runners from the last grand Prix, good going on Easter weekend

Tomorrow is going to be long, looking like 400 back and 140m+ chips in play beginning at 10-20k. Hence I'll be away well before the 2.30am close tonight, preparing for that!

JJ Hazan is chip leader of the first flight.

He has over 1m with two levels to play

if he holds it, will be the fourth 1m stack through to tomorrow with the Batey and Bingham twins and Dan Blake

JJ is co-tabling with Wilie Tann

JJ had over 700,000 when he raised with 4-2ss in early position

bet the flop, Willie called

bet the King of spades turn, giving him a flush draw to go with a flopped pair

hit his spade on the river, value bet and was paid off by two pair.

438 entries the final number for the last flight

this makes 2807 total, 193 short of the GTE or £9650

Over 200 more runners than the last grand prix

302 are so far and another 50-60 to come from this flight

Day 2 is at midday tomorrow, and maybe midday the day after ;-)

minus the £11k leaderboard promo for the first 10 players to win 10 seats with golden chips, minus the probable £10k cost of the golden chips on average, nearly £10k overlay on the event itself and the countless overlays in all the online sats for weeks and the 1p penny roll promotion even with the 20% reg fee (£50+£10) i am pretty sure they have done their bollocks again.

Robert Yong

"Missed the 3000 Grand Prix target by 147, ended on 2853, with over 700 players coming through the club's doors today.

Thanks for all the support from players and staff, these GP's are quite expensive with all the pennyrolls, 10 seats chip races, and then there is Golden Chips themselves, each Grand Prix costs us over £60,000 in staff costs and promotions so it's important we get as close to the target number as possible, of course, we don't need to target numbers in the 000's but that what the GP is about.

thanks for turning out. Cheers rob"

We have no fewer than 4 all in and calls on the bubble across 30 tables

On one is Carl Taylor from Stoke

he pure bubbled the last grand Prix, with Aces

Huseyin Houssein raises

Carl looks down at two red Aces.....

Shove.

Call

They wait a few minutes as other tables finish their hands

"bubbled the last grand prix with Aces" chuckles Carl. "what are the chances?"

I say nothing.

Hussein flips two black tens

first card out?

A ten

Carl departs, summoning the will to walk off smiling

the blind passes

Wlliams shoves 487,000 with A-9

Greene calls with A-5 and two pair knocks him out

I've joined the brotherhood of Liam Batey & Tommy Bingham today for 1 day only.  We are chip getting machines (well they are). Happy to report I'm on their tail with a decent pot.

Raised cut off, got 2 callers including bb. He led out 50k after flopping the straight. Fortunately with a pair and a flush draw I stayed put and got there. 1.4 million!

Yes

there are 140m in play

I gather the 1m chips come out later

they ran out of chips, so used the dark green 1k chips to make up

the black chips are 250,000

Rick Gilby up to 900,000

first he jams 88 over a raise and call. one caller with 66 to double

--

he then flats a raise on the button with QQ

It comes A-K-Q

The raiser c-bets, he shoves, raiser folds

After these two hands in quick succession Rick has over average at 20-40k and 150 left

We join Ian Gascoigne as a short stack jams 144k

Ian is in the small blind and calls

Seat 10 QK cc Ian 22

Flop j49 cc

Turn Qh

River A

after losing the hand Ian is on 900k

As I leave Greek Jack joins the table

'We'll have some fun now' says Ian

GAS7 wishing he had bust out and gone to Hillsborough i would imagine.  He is missing a corker.

Vanessa Haney up to 1.2m after 3 bet shoving 44 against QQ and flopping a 4.....

I suspect these might be tricky to prise off the DTD Poker league tyro...

The player with the QQ shoved 300,000 next hand and Vanessa folded 77 as if to say "these are mine, not having them back yet"

the player showed her K-2!

He could have had 6m, when he was in athree way all in with AK v JJ v A9

He knocked out jacks to be 500,000 up on the hand though

Karen Arthur has just moved to the table, in the big blind now, playing 3m and looks down at QQ

A shut your eyes and call spot

She does

he has A-Q

He hits an Ace to go to 4.4m and the chip lead...

Same orbit a visibly tilted, frustrated, chuntering Karen is knocked out by Greek Ubiquitous, who has Aces....

"Hello Maria. Oh dear..."

My opening gambit as she walks passed me

"I was Gascoigned" she says

I stay quiet, I sense its coming my way.....

"A guy was really tilting and shoved blind over an Ian raise and doubled up with 8-2"

I sensed the point of the tale was coming

"Ian is cross, and shoves three hands on the trot. On the third hand I have Jacks in the big blind"

She calls

"Ian has A-8 and it comes 4-5-5-6-7. He has 2.5m"

and off she goes home, out around 80th.....

I am still in but with a very early start tomorrow it's time to 'move up the gears'.

Ian Gascoigne raises on the button

Vnce Campbell calls in the big blind

6h 9c 7c

check

Gascoigne 250,000 playing 2.8m

Campbell check raise all in 2m

Gascoigne thinks, takes a slug of Guinness, considers the prospects of French thoroughbreds imported into Britain at 3yo for hurdling, wonders how Sheff wed can lose 3-2 to Charlton having been 2-0 up inside 10 minutes, asks for a few minutes

and Calls

Great Call, I think to myself when Campbell flips Kd Ts

I revise my opinion when Ian shows Jh Th

turn 5d

river 2c

to double Campbell up

At the other end of the table a player who shall remain nameless pipes up "F*** me, what on 'eck am I watching here?"

Peter Sherwood raises and Dan Blake shoves 2.125m on the button

Sherwod calls with AQ

Blake QQ

Blake doubles up on 10-7-2-5-5

48 left on 5 tables and a lot of the field playing 2m or less in shove territory here at 80-160k....

JJ Hazan knocks out David Greene 37th

William Davies toook 3m off Greene. Davies defended with 9-10 in the big blind, check called a 9 high flop, a blank turn and hit gin, another 9 on the river and Greene just flatted at that stage with KK

Next hand, Hazan raises with K-J, Greene calls with 9-10 himself.

flop 8-J-x

Hazan led, the draw shoved, Hazan called and held

Hazan has over 7m

Rupinder Bedi has gone 30th

He blinded down from 5m to 3.8m without anything to go to war with

the button shoved 10x bb

Bedi reshoved in the small blind with A5 and lost against A10

Left with 11x bb he jammed 7-6o into the big blind from the small, was called by A-J, flopped 8-5-x but missed any pair any draw to depart.

Jav Javed shoves 3x bb...900,000 at 150,000-300,000

Vince Campbell calls

Alex Mason calls in the small blind

Liam Batey, playing 3.1m, sees the chance to take on the short-stack (anyone with a hand reshoves before him, right?) and shoves

Campbell thinks, no doubt thinking of the delights of the shared football/cricket ground that Stourbridge FC shares with Stourbridge CC that gives very unusal three stand, one open side action in the winter....

and eventually re-shoves

Bates folds

You wouldn't name Campbell's hand if I gave you ten shots at it

Ace-King for the long dwell!! I could be here all night!

Javed K-Q

Batey J-9

A-K holds to knock out two....

Great fun. Bought in on Saturday at about 4pm into the 12pm flight. Had 5 and a half hours of larking about. Come back today at 12pm and have another 10 hours of larking about all for £60 and then I get that back and another £340 for my troubles. Would loved to had a treble up with the ace ten suited and was surprised he was as strong as ace queen when he put in the standard button raise.
Good luck to everyone who is left in. Great updates from Tighty and another brilliant comp from DTD. A lot of players playing their first live comp which has to be good for the game and someone is going to go home with enough money to buy a 3yr old racehorse from France.
Really do think Rob Yong and his team deserve a medal for putting on these kind of opportunities for everyone.

Lyew 9-9

Brilliant result, verywell played luigi,!! Luigi runs a Lincoln barbers and is responsible for me spending most of my time with a baseball cap on. A lover of the game for many years he has just recently had a second sprog,(2 weeks ago) so the timing of this is excellent. Anyone who knows him will agree a nicer bloke is hard to find, so all in all a great result for Lincoln, the pesky Italians and most of all him and his family!

I gather Luigi played 2 £5.50 satellites and won a day oen seat on the second one, after the golden chips had run out

He didn't have any re-entries in the live legs

and turned £11 into £25,000 and an £1100 UKIPT seat

Good going!

Amen to all of that, well done Guy Collins (direwolf next door), DTD, & of course to Tighty for his marathon updating stint.

I'll not suggest Tighty is a Saint, but he has the patience of one.
