About me
I have just moved back to the north west after finishing my Maths degree at Sheffield Hallam during this degree i also spent a year in Nottingham working (Placement @ Experian). Most of my time in the poker world for the last year or two has been concentrating on live poker and have been a regular around Sheffield and Nottingham for the majority of that time. I have been playing poker for 4 years now and played for a living on and off for short periods three or four times during that 4 years but the rest of the time I have been playing as a pass time and for entertainment and of course trying to make some money on the side of university and my career which I have been placing as my number one priority.

The Proposal
I am off to Vegas on the 15th June for 4 weeks! Winner winner chicken dinner! This is my post university blow out i have started working in the "real world" and will be returning to this after Vegas but my goal is go big or go home broke. While I am out in Vegas I will be playing a mix of cash and comps, the comps i am selling for here are my "big" comps, I will be giving my 100% in these comps, no late regging and no hungoverness is the plan. If this does not happen any mark up payed for this comp will be refunded. I have 4 weeks to have fun so plan to take these 7 comps very seriously. I will only not play these comp's if i am in a day 2 of another comp (if an alternative day 1 is available i will play that) or i am physically unable to due to illness etc! I will have been in Vegas for a week before my first event and plan to play a few of the daily's at the rio so should be well settled by then and over jet lag etc. I have played in Vegas before and had a successful last trip which returned a profit to blonde backers. I believe I am very trustworthy I have had many financial dealings through blonde and the rest of the poker community and never had any issues in the past.

Cliffs on the deal.

Im looking to sell 40% of the following package with the mark up set at 1.176286. The prices for each piece are below.

Date                   COMP           BUY IN
22/06/2014   WSOP event 45            1000
26/06/2014   WSOP event 51             1500    - Mega Stack
28/06/2014   Wynn $250k            600
29/06/2014   WSOP event 56            1000
02/07/2014   WSOP event 62            1111         - mini one for one drop
04/07/2014   Wynn $250k            600
06/07/2014   Aria Main                    565

Total = $6376*1.176286=$7500

10% = $750 / £447.67
5% = $375 / £223.84
1%=$75 / £44.77

rate locked at xe.com rate today of
100 USD = £59.69

Money will need to be shipped by Friday 13th June - by Bank, Cash or Stars transfer. Happy to take money in Vegas also if this has been prior arranged this deadline does not apply!

I would appreciate any comments and feedback thanks - also if there are comps on while i am there that i have missed from this schedule that somebody feels are a MUST play im happy to hear about them! :)

Feel free to ask questions via pm or in the thread and happy to chat through over Skype also.

Callum

Don't mean to be rude, but if these are the punt/big time comps would you not just sell at spot to go for the glory?

Would prob chuck a few quid in for a spin otherwise.

Not rude and a fair point, I basically don't want to sell at spot for comps like these, i came up with a compromise between taking a punt and a few comps within what i could possibly put up myself. As far as im aware there is a jump between the $1ks and 1.5ks+ so the two bigger buy ins i have included 1111 and 1500 are "special" WSOP events. I was considering just doing a package of 3 1ks and 3 1.5ks and selling at like 1.1-1.15. but when i looked at the schedule it didn't really work for me so by including some of the "cheaper" comps and charging a slightly higher price i thought this was a fair way. More than happy for people to disagree with me on this view though.

In general i dont charge a mark up but, this is for stuff like, online, GPS, UKIPT etc. The fields in the 450-1ks in these are considerably tougher than what i experienced in vegas and thus is why i believe it is a fair price. This is obviously very "borderline" pricing as it has not been snapped up and people ive had interested have said let me think about it which is more than fair!

Why? If he's  value at the markup , what should it matter  whether  it's a big time tournament or not? Value is value.

Yep true. Just the way it was worded in OP maybe.

The bit about playing drunk/hung over was funny though. Might happen but if it does you at least get the spin at spot :)

Was going to do a short post here today so thanks for the reminder, so far it has not gone good, at all! We will live though but would be nice to get a cash on the board so no better place to start than on Sunday right?

Ive checked out of the Quad and into the Rio for the weekend seemed like a sensible option to me and ill be playing the daily deepstack today and a "day off" tomorrow. I plan to spend the day relaxing around the pool and i may possibly play a few 1 table sat's but not much else. I plan to be well rested bought in and ready to go on Sunday morning.

Im really excited for the get go and hopfully i have got rid of some off the rust and bad beats this week ready to run like god all the way to the gold on Sunday.

Well we have won our first hand we voluntarily put chips into the pot.

We get QQ in the SB, two limpers and I make it 150. Two callers J high board I make it 250 one caller. Turn J, eurgh. I check call 400 and river is a K double eurgh. He checks back though and we win the pot.

I'll take it!

Going along swimmingly so far. 4350 chips, 40 Minutes into the 1st level and I'm the only one to have three bet yet. Table is good just one minor blip when we couldn't beat a shortie for 400 chips with JJ<KQ

32k managed to river a set with 99 in a 4bet pot

Guy I've been battling with 3 bets me, I 4 bet and lead a K high board he calls and it goes check check on the turn. Stacks were pretty awkward he was in a great spot to shove on the turn if I bet. Obviously when I set up on the river I check to endive a big bet from him but he was not forthcoming. Didn't want to have to bet fold the river really, which was a possibility.

Then next hand he tried to bluff me with QJ on 10 high board when I have 10J. When it's going your way it's going your way. Let's hope it stays this way!

36.5k I'm guessing average is about 12k

Cheers for the good luck messages, offical updates are here http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/chipcounts.asp?grid=1052&tid=13645&dayof=3665 (http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/chipcounts.asp?grid=1052&tid=13645&dayof=3665) poker news updates have me in 40th. From Warrington Gabon also.

Looking forward to today.

Yesterday was a long battle, the first table was really good and was disappointed when that broke earlier than i thought it would. Its really nice to sit at a table with guys for 6 or so hours straight i find with only the odd guy coming in or out and im happy with that but once i start bouncing around tables i sometimes lose my way a bit. This happened yesterday with the 77<AA about 5 hands into a table move. If id been there all day i may have had more information to find the fold but with the information i had thats all i could do.

The 2nd table got a lot tougher, to my right i had "jdtdpoker" (http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstars/jdtjpoker/poker/results/DA7E4E272E794664A9AE53F66ED20944.html?t=2 (http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstars/jdtjpoker/poker/results/DA7E4E272E794664A9AE53F66ED20944.html?t=2)), to my left were 4 shortish guys that were ready to fold to the money. JDTD was opening every pot and it put me in the dilema do i play back, and potentially get myself in a messy spot with someone who is obviously very competent at the pokers or wait for my opening and when he does not open i can dive in there. Well for an hour there was not an un opened pot when it got to me, this was not the worse thing as i was pretty card dead and was probably portraying an image of a lot tighter player than i actual wanted to be playing. I then opened up a bit on JDTD,3 betting him 3 times with no resistance. I then win every pot against him blind on blind so i was pretty happy with how i played as he was definiatly the key spot on the table for me. We then had another guy sit two seats to my left that i recognized from that 2 months 2 million program, can not remember which one he was. The table was still ok though in general, we will see what tomorrow holds.

Interesting thing about these $1k's is the start, back home with a long clock 30k stack and low blinds at the start of a competition i never feel any pressure often getting a bit to funky early on and finding myself on say 15k or 20k chips and think oh damn, i need a double up to get back in this. But with 3k it puts a lot of pressure on from the start, even starting at 25/25 its easy to put in a chunk of chips and be short early on which is really not ideal. I got lucky had a nice run of cards and spots to enable me to chip up early and never be under lots of pressure. But i felt myself concentrating a lot more in the early levels than i tend to do back home. I kept telling myself to play tight and not make mistakes as that could be it competition over. So although these comps are very crap shooty from the start i managed to get myself in a position where i was not under pressure all day which really helped. Obviously i could have been out in level 3 trying to accumulate chips but i was on the right side of variance yesterday and managed to avoid that.

We will see what today brings, hopefully just hopefully i can make it to that final table with a stack for tomorrow.

Assani fisher posts alot on 2+2, seems to play o8 even though I haven't really seen him. Decent nlhe mtt stats too

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/184/staking-selling-shares-live/assani-fisher-2014-wsop-package-1446777/

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman, won seniors event in 2012, got some good results, probably pretty snug.

Paul Sokoloff, some sort of live grinder http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=70873

Patrick Arena, http://pnimg.net/lrep/1854/81/b4424aae4a1.jpg fted plo event #3 but I'd be inclined to think a rec.

Nabil; http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=154735

Few hits on McKain, not sure which it is. http://www.bluff.com/players/brian-mckain/1641/ seems likely.  http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=28826 (has a pic)

Lue Huang: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=148025

Looks pretty good but expected more unknowns.

Up to 87k

Flop top set with JJ after flatting out of the small blind pre. Board is Jh10h3x and big stack makes a big bet I check raised hopeing to play for stacks but there was a big cuffufle as another guy passed out of turn and he got angry and decided to pass. Sigh

55<87ss all in on a 236ssx flop. He has 10BB to start the hand so when he got there on the turn it was a little Frustrating to see but nice that people are flatting out of 10Bb still probs got like 80k+

Lose some more,

KJ on the button I call a mid position open it comes J8228 and he bet every steet and jammed the river. I was close to calling he bet big on the turn and when I called I thought he may just shut down as he has done that a lot. When he jammed the river meh i was just not sure he was ever going to bluff all in for what was effectively his tournemnt life. But I could be wrong

Just jammed AKhh over an open by alleyn for 20BB, big stack like 130k goes into the tank alleyn has like 80k so I'm think shitttttt, he folds (JJ) she calls with AK and we chop

Post by: BorntoBubble on June 25, 2014, 01:48:58 AM
Thanks for all the good luck/well done messages on here and on facebook, text etc. Really means a lot!

So a tourney report is in order. I reported most of the big hands here, so most of the poker bits have been covered. My "key" hand on day 2 was the KJ hand. I peeled pre from the button and called two streets on a J high board, the turn bet was large and it felt to me like "one more big bet to get him off his draws then im done" so thought i would get cheap showdown. But that was not the case when he shipped, J8228 was the board with a missed FD possibility. When he jammed the river it literally felt like nuts or air kinda spot. With Nuts including an 8(and 88), 2 (and 22) , JJ or AA but most likely AA. Then his air was really AKdd or similar with a missed flop flush draw. Obviously there is a possibility he has other combos but we are deep with 100 left in a big field WSOP i just didnt have him down as the type of player willing to pull of a big bluff. It hurt at the time to lay down the hand and leave myself with 20BB when winning the hand would have put me in great shape but it felt the best option. He confirmed later to me (He bust one place after me) that he had AA and i made a good fold. So pretty happy with the hand after all.

When i got moved tables i was short, this was very unfortunate as there was a young English (unkown to me) and american lad really battling hard with each other and sometimes in my eyes they were battling to hard, would have been nice to have been able to 3bet/4 bet these guys but with my stack it was not possible. Im pretty happy with how i played when short and jamming Q10 BvB for 12BB is fairly standard, especially as the BB was a massive nit. Id pretty much said im jamming most hands here was glad to wake up with Q10. He folded QQ earlier to a 20BB jam :/ when he had chunks of chips. Anyway, im really happy with how i played the structure in these comps mean its imperative to get a good start which i got and then from there i really didnt have any tough spots, or any "lucky" hands. I lost 3 huge flips for big stacks which was really frustrating as it took till day 2 for me to have an all in confrontation flipping pre.

Aside from the poker, i really had a great time, my first WSOP event, my first cash and a deep run to boot. I really felt confident and relaxed and happy throughout i really enjoyed the experience and i can not wait for the next big one on Thursday. Its a shame because i have a buzz for these events now and want one every day! I got some really nice comments throughout from other players and dealers about my play and my attitude at the poker table. Allyn Shulman had some really nice comments for me as i left the table and these sorts of things really mean a lot to me as sometimes we lose track of ourselves in these stupid card games and forget to be polite and nice to our table friends.

I really had a great time! Onto the next one. Another cash please!!!

Post by: BorntoBubble on June 27, 2014, 01:00:53 AM
Struggling for internet so writing bits up in notes then copying them over when I get chance.

Coming back with 16500 we call AQ and go 3 ways to a Q high board 3 hearts. Original raise bets and we call and we are 3 ways to the turn which is a brick. Same again. 3 ways to a river which is a K off suit. Checked to player in position who bets I sigh call it off. Probably should have passed but it was a pretty big pot and the bet was not huge. They had flopped the nuts.

Then we 3bet K10 from the button. Original raiser callers and we see a 1093 flop two clubs. I continue and he check raises small. I decide to flat thinking I may have to pay off his sets on the turn if it bricks etc. Turn is an off suit Q and he jams which is for like double pot. I passed meh.

Then we open KK board comes 1073 2 diamonds turn is the Ks bingo. 2 spades 2 diamonds out there, I checked, this was bad and stupid and I don't know why I did it tbh. Luckily it takes off behind me and I end up all in on the turn v A10 spade for a treble up after he bet the other guy off the pot. It bricks and I'm back to above starting stack.

16.5k.

Moved tables. First hand manage to get K10ss in v 77 on 763 2 spades  10 on the turn as well but no spade sigh.

We open LP get called by SB and BB get check raised after we continued flop :/

10k

Time to build it up again! Still 50BB

Bust jam over an open with KJ Sb annonces call and original raiser folds. I'm in better shape than I thought with him having AQ but we could not get there! Sigh GL all still left in! Will do a full write up later! Won't take long I'm sure :(

Title: Re: Vegas Package
Post by: BorntoBubble on June 28, 2014, 01:25:04 AM
So yesterday was not the best. Never got much above 20k and had a low point of around 6k early on.

We lasted just over 6 levels and past the "dinner break" that never was due to the high number of runners, was good for me though as i was short and dont think i could have coped with a 90 minute break! I was really looking forward to this, bought in on Tuesday and was in the first flight so managed to avoid the drama of the later flight when they battled to get everyone in. My plan was to nit it up early as i was hoping this 15k stack would mean people would be a bit to splashy. We struggled to make many hands though which was a problem lots of calling pre and check folding flops etc. When we made half hands we won small pots and when we made slightly better hands we lost bigger pots. My table was ok, had a guy i had played with in the $1k earlier in the week and 2 to my left was a player with an ivey poker badge, he was good, but not as good as he thought he was! Had some very loose guys to my right but they were playing very aggro and when your not making hands it was difficult to play against them. Once we moved tables we were hit with a big hit early on losing my first hand for half my stack. Difficult one because i really do not have enough info to fold and if im gonna fold the flop i should just fold pre. If we hit a spade im sat on 30k+ and everything is good anyway so we will move on. Once we got short on this table it was difficult as there only appeared to be 2 or 3 spots on the table and these were sat to my right. The guys sat in the 5 seats to my left all seemed commpetant and were discussing the live circuit in the USA a lot so assumed they were at least average regs. This meant that i was not gonna get through as easy as normal in these comps where a lot of the guys will fold so much of there range its incred. Anyway we could not win with KJ v AQ and that was that! Biggest comp of the trip with a HUGE first prize and i was taking an early bath. Was pretty gutted last night just hope one of the boys brings home the gold now.

Tomorrow is the Wynn classic $600 event and if i bust that i have the WSOP $1k on Sunday. GL US

In the queue at the Wynn bad error in judgement on my part should have bought in yesterday! Has planned to her here earlier as well but watched the end of the Brazil game! Will see where we end up with this. Looks like plenty of runners though which is good!

Post by: BorntoBubble on June 28, 2014, 09:08:41 PM
After seeing the effort put in at the WSOP on Thursday and the mountains they moved for the players. The effort at the Wynn here today is shoddy, there's plenty of tables spare and dealers wandering around. While there is I believe a 150 people long alternate list.

I know Liam was messed around sent to the encore then sent back here. Sigh!

This could be a long wait!

Cheers good numbers here! Had a long wait but I'm in. And only a few k below average.

Should make 1000 runners total so will be a nice $500k prize pool.

Markup will be refunded on this comp for the late reg, I should have planned ahead and bought in yesterday.

Wow somehow we are not broke.

Guy opens late position we call in the BB with QJ board comes Q83 I check he bets. Turn J, check check I lead the 6 on the river and he flats with 88. I flip two pair and he goes I've got a set I was like wow cheers! Thanks for making me not go broke!

Well that was good, we managed to get our 20BB in with A5 on A347 v 99. I raised pre he called out of the big. It went check bet call. Check bet jam. I was obviously not loving life but figured I could be ahead or have lots of outs with most of my chips in the pot.

In fact I was in great shape but instance service of the 9 on the river :( sigh! Off to the rio shortly to reg for tomorrow's 1k

Well the 1k went well today, we didn't win, but we didn't lose either.

I went out last night and well Vegas beat me. So when my alarm went off at 10:30 this morning I thought best to skip this comp.

Sorry for that guys.

Leaves us with a few options, refund the buy in, find another similar buy in event. Or possibley use it for a mega sat for the main.

Happy to hear other thoughts and go with a majority vote. Also people are welcome to not go with that majority!

Sorry guys!

Bust we managed to fold and raise fold our way to 18BB at 75/150 and re shipped the SB after a cut off open with A6ss and unfortunately he could not find the fold with AA we got a sweat on 9987 board but no good on the river GG.

Pretty frustrating was a pretty lose jam but id been seen to be playing pretty tight, thought I may be able to get one through but obviously not when he has AA

Pretty bad start to the Wynn Classic. Not sure how we are still in tbh.

We get "Ian gasgoined" with 97cc.
Limp UTG and I raise my button

Flop 952xcc I raise he check raises. I click it back. He calls 450 1025 1800

Turn Ax I raise and he effectively check raises all in 2100> 9k

I passed. Afterwords I regretted betting turn but not sure maybe I should maybe I shouldn't. Guess he will fold out all his over pairs. And he has let me get away for cheap if he has Axcc

Then we get 97<QQ BvB where I limp call, check call, check check, check call, on Q73 9 K he had QQ :(

We lose a few more frustrating ones before having A10<Q10 on QQ31010 I called in position pre. Called flop. Then it went check check on the turn. He checked to me on the river, I really wanted to bet and think I probably should long term but I just felt he was super strong. Felt pretty good about the check back afterwords live tells for the win I suppose.

I'm not sure what he would call with on the river that I beat anyway? Unsure, I like bet 95% of the time here but not this time!

Anyway I think we have won one hand and chopped another 3k from 15k @100/200.

I pride myself on not giving up in these spots and getting back from bowl amounts! Double up time!

The bad news

We have 3600 chips or 18 BB
we had the worst coffee I have ever had. Tikay would have been fuming if his latte was as bad as this!

The good news

We made first break
We made the antes!

We find a lucky double with AQ>KK aipf! Flop AQx nice!

Then we call a 3bet with QJdd and get it in on a 1073ddx board he had KK and we did not win.

Sigh

Going to play the 1k sat to the main tomorrow.

Then we have the 500 at the aria left.

Pretty frustrating day today. Kept making hands but they kept having better hands. Didn't play as tight as it have been early on not sure if this was ideal or not we were playing 7 handed a lot so I like playing hands in tht situation!

Sigh lose a big one blind v blind

We have similar stacks (12k) at 200/400 and I raise to 950 with A8 flats it comes A54 rainbow I check and he bet like 800 I called. Turn 7 I check again and he makes it 2k I call again. River J I check and he makes it 2800 the river brought back door spades and it felt like he wanted a call but I just felt I couldn't lay it down. Meh maybe a bad choice.

Anyway onwards and up wards we are still in!

Title: Re: Vegas Package
Post by: BorntoBubble on July 09, 2014, 12:49:39 AM
Well that was a dirty 4 levels I feel like I need a wash!

We have not been playing many hands mainly due to lack of cards but also a conscious effort to not be down to 8k after 2 levels.

We have an active guy button to our BB. He opens the button and I 3bet with the goulder (J2) he flatted. Board comes 1073 and I bet he calls. Oops, turn J ball bingo. I check he bets I call. River 2. All draws missed there was two flush draws out there and he bombed river all in for over pot I called and he had KJ. Phew! Nice double.

We sit tight for a little while again a little card dead before opening LP with 47hh I get 4 callers, button SB BB. Flop K66. I bet and the SB calls after a small dwell, thought he may have a weak K here and I was done with the hand. Until the 3h dropped and we now had a gutshot straight draw and a flush draw. Was just gonna check if he checked but he lead for 3k into 12 with 14 behind. I felt like he was blocker betting with a weak K still so I jammed and he called with A6 and we bricked. Pretty happy with this though as I felt he would fold most Ks here after we have gone bet bet jam.

Anyway still had 30k

Then. I have a crazy aggro fish to my right who is battling with a 20 something annoying American kid 3 to my left. He's jammed on him about 4 times for like 60 bigs and the American is visably frustrated. So he opens to 2100 at 300/600, I flat with QQ American kid makes it 6k from the BB and then fish jams like 80 bigs effective I call for my 50 bigs and American kid passes 1010. Agro man has AK, oops both had hands this time. Window card K, sigh, then hiding behind is a nice beautiful Q BALL!

We hold and now have 67300

Blinds 400/800 still alternates coming in with 15k so it's pretty crazy with lots of all ins

GL us!

Blurgh bit of a minging one.

Move to a new table, 3rd hand pick up QQ in the big blind.

Big stack opens SB calls I 3 bet to 6700. Big stack tank folds and SB calls. He has 5k back he jams the AK3 flop and I really wanted to fold but just couldn't if he was stopping and going with any two meh. He had KK. I really should have passed but it's so frustrating when somone calls a 3 bet out of 11 bigs and jams 5 bigs on a flop.

I even rivered a Q :( he managed to butcher it so much that I nearly folded!

45k @ 600/1200

878 entires today and 278 paid apparently we play to 5% left with 12% getting paid

105 in the money  for 750 and 44 through to day 2 tomorrow according to the board

Title: Re: Vegas Package
Post by: BorntoBubble on July 09, 2014, 05:15:50 AM
And that's a wrap :(

Bust 50 away from the money.

1000/2000 blinds I open late position with 87 BB calls flop comes 842 2 clubs I bet 5500 as I have twice on him already and he's passed frustrated. This time he jams like 80k and I have 50k back.

I call figuring he's probably making stand and probably has a draw. He does have a draw unfortunately it's A8cc we did not get lucky.

Sigh gutted, will do a day report when I'm back at the hotel and a trip summary and the financials!

Thanks for the backing guys

Title: Re: Vegas Package
Post by: BorntoBubble on July 10, 2014, 02:49:05 AM
So yesterday was not very fun for me at all, i had little or no hands all day and it was a real grind. I had a pretty good starting table and had played very snug for 2/3 hours due to lack of hands mainly. There were chips flying and i wanted to get involved but just didnt have the spots until my double with J2 (or near double) which is always nice. We really struggled to continue to gain chips (similar to the first WSOP event) where we got chips in good for smaller pots which can quickly get you from 60>80>110k etc instead we kept going 60>45>55>40 etc which is tough but poker. We had 4 different tables throughout the day and were in the middle range of tables ive had on this trip. Table 2 was probably the toughest and was where i expereiced QQ<KK all in on the flop v a shortie but i only sat there for a little whiule which is nice. Table 3 we were only at for a level or two and went from 40k to about 65k without doing much the table was the best of the day and was frustrating to be moved. On my 4th and final table there had been quite a few all ins, a nice spot for me where i called the button with AQsuited where the big blind was short and i was hoping for a shove only for the SB to make a huge raise and the original raiser jammed and i got out of the way SB had KK and original raiser had 1010 and i would have bricked so that was nice.

Then v the guy i eventually bust i was seat 6 and him seat 9 and id opend his big blind 3 times in a row. He called all 3 times and twice folded the flop and the 3rd time jammed on 852xcc when i had 87. I was convinced he was on a draw and figured if he has like 34/67 or any club draw with one over and one under im in good shape. Two overs and a club draw is not great but only a small % of his range i think. Unfortunatly he had the worst hand possible a better 8 and a club draw and i was out the door. Maybe i could pass and leave myself like 20 bigs but i dont think this would be the correct play.

Pretty happy with my play throughout this package. A few comps i have busted early but they have been in shorter clocks where im trying to accumulate chips and just have not hit the flops i needed. It would have been nice to run a bit deeper in the first event win some more flips and have been freerolling but it is as it is and we have made a loss on this package in the end. Financials to come in the next post.
