Title: Bluff or not to bluff?
Post by: SuuPRlim on August 21, 2014, 09:20:10 PM
Opponent is a good reg - not been around for a while but strongly suspect he was a different account name not so long ago. He usually does the right things with the right hands in the right spots, defo less cally than most regs.

Both flop and turn have resounding reasons to both bluff and not bluff imo, What do you all think???

Take the free card and try and house up... hate the board, even tho you have the  Ad there are still possible str8 flushes and figure he wd chk raise the pot with any flush on turn when the Ace falls as Aces are very likely in your range once betting the turn.

Like betting turn. From oppo description I would say betting turn is gona induce straight flushes to raise which can only be a good thing considering our hand, assuming we fold to raise on turn of course. Betting keeps us with the lead with I think is important with the board texture.

If you do call a c/r on turn. What u doing if he a) piles riv b)checks riv

I'm barrelling this, nut(ish) blocker reduces the likelihood of getting raised on the turn, folds out some KQ and some flushes with the read that he's not too cally.

Also I remember seeing Vaneesa Selbst barrel this spot in a deuces cracked vid a good 5 years ago :D

I bet €188

I will defo defo defo not be calling a turn c/r, it would be ridiculous for him to c/r the turn (not saying it wouldn't happen) IDK why he'd ever c/r the straight flush on the turn and he can't c/r the NFblocker as I have it. Perhaps he might assume I have AA and will check back the river once he's called and it doesn't pair so wants to get me for an extra bet on the turn, if I have AA then 66% of the time I'll have the Ad which will make me definately fold the turn so raising anything on the turn when i have the NFblocker would be insane (again, not saying it wouldn't happen, but I would go into a spot like this just assuming i'll never be raised and then give my computer screen a raised eyebrow on the odd occasion I am!)

If we bet this turn, nd the river doe not pair then we are fully obligated to bluff the river, imo.

I always say we don't have to bluff every time we have the NFblocker, and this time given we beat a chunk of his flop range  and there is 2 (not unfeasible) combo's of SF out there this might be the time? Our hand looks a lil face-up on board pairs though if we chk bac the turn??
