Title: Live at DTD this week
Post by: DTD-ACES on September 19, 2014, 11:05:49 PM
Club Regulars, attached below is next weeks club regular schedule, please share with other club regulars;

1. WPT 125: We have DOUBLED the GTE on the WPT 125 to £50,000 (Inc 20 x WPT 500 seats), the winner will receive £10,000 plus a WPT 500 seat. There is a Saturday afternoon 3pm Day 1 for those players that want an earlier finish.

2. XXL 15's: Following the success of the Turbo's at the Club and requests from players to have an earlier finish on 'school nights' (Sunday to Thursday), we have 'turbo'd the XXL 15's so they should finish between 1.00 - 1.30am, for those of you that dont mind a later finish, we have ADDED 2 extra XXL 15's on Saturday 3pm and Sunday 2.30pm, aswell as retaining Friday and Saturday XXL 15 Giants, all with 20 min clock.

There is now something for EVERYONE at the Club on a weekly basis, whether you need to be up for work in the morning so need an earlier finish Sun-Thu, or you can only give up 1 day on weekends (play online Day 1 or Turbo Day 1), or prefer a longer well structured comp like the 125, and of course those of you that like to play for a much bigger prizepool that gives £10,000 to the winner.

Cheers Aces

Wish I could do something about the roadworks guys......

IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR DTD REGULARS, next week, as well as doubling the WPT 125 GTE to £50,000, I have reviewed the weekly regular club schedule/assessed feedback and made some tweaks;

1. Afternoon 3pm Day 1 added for WPT 125 for those players that don't want a late finish and Day 2 moved to 6pm start on Sunday and Day 1 Turbo moved to 2.30pm.

2. Sunday to Thursday XXL 15's changed to 15 / 20 min clock (20 mins in final) so that players can get to work in the morning with a decent night's sleep - estimated finish time is 1.30am. XXL Fri/Sat Giants remain and 20/30 min clock.

3. Afternoon XXL 15's added at 3pm Saturday and 2.30pm Sunday for players that want to have an afternoon game (will review increasing the GTE's depending on attendance)

4. WPT Main Event Satellite added on Sunday's at 8pm (will experiment with this time). 3 x £3000 Seats GTD. We need 10 runners to start this satellite! I am hoping with 200+ players in building for the 2.30pm WPT 125 Turbo / Day 2 we will have enough liquidity to run this as players bust out etc

Trying to please everyone is not easy, I have tried to do my best.

Cheers Aces

Just a quick note:

you are showing the sunday WPT day 1 as a turbo but still with a 30 minute clock

surely this will be a 20 minute clock or even 15 minutes to be finished in time for the day 2 start

NEW TUESDAY 8PM COMP....Okay guys, coming into the winter period we are going to add some variety each week to our regular tourney schedule to try and appeal to as wider audience as possible. As we know poker players preference are often difference and our target is 'something for everyone' over the coming months. We have consulted with some of our more 'gambler orientated DTD regulars' and he has agreed to put on this fun comp next Tuesday 30th September, Fast and Furious £20 UL Re-Buy with a £6000 GTE (Inc 2 x WPT 500 Seats), we will run the XXL 15 aswell for those players that don't like a UL RB format.  Cheers Aces Link herehttp://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/result-info.php?id=0&name=20-fast-furious&eid=44028

 IMPORTANT TIME CHANGES: This week's WPT 125 Saturday and Sunday start times are having a tweak (see image attached) to make them more player friendly:tweaks are ;

1. Saturday afternoon Day 1 at 1pm which will finish at 7.40pm for those players that need to take the Mrs out on Saturday nights!

2. Saturday evening Day 1 moved to 6pm (late reg 10.40pm to give a more sociable earlier finish of 12.40am

3. Sunday turbo day 1 start time moved to 1pm (late reg 3.15pm) allowing us to start Day 2 earlier at 4.30pm, unless the final table plays super tight (can't control this il afraid - depends on who makes the final) the tournament should finish 1am to 2am. I believe this is really important.

Cheers Aces

We ran the XXL 15 turbo as well for those players that didn't like idea of a re-buy / wanted an earlier finish and 46 players played that:) 120+ poker players on a cold Nottingham Tuesday night is about as much as we could ever expect : cheers again 4 support - Aces

IMPORTANT TIME CHANGES: This week's WPT 125 Saturday and Sunday start times are having a tweak (see image attached) to make them more player friendly:tweaks are ;

Cheers Aces

Love this idea of early start and finish for old duffers like me. Shan't be snoozing and dribbling at the table come the midnight hour!

WPT 125 CONFIRMED NEXT 2 WEEKENDS AT THE CLUB

Good luck to everyone who plays the WPT 125 Day 1 Turbo at 1.30pm (LR 3.15pm) today.

We have our DTD Pub League Finals with 250-300 players at 2pm on the next two Sundays and it was looking unlikely we would be able run our WPT 125's over these 2 weekends, as well as being a tight for space so many blow-in dealers are working at the UKIPT/EPT, BUT the good news is that Danny has managed to ring round get extra dealers so that we can also run the WPT 125 Day 1 Turbo and Day 2 at the same time as we deal the Pub League Final,

obviously we can't do the same numbers as the last 2 weeks so it will be £25,000 (inc 10 x WPT 500) seats with £5000 + WPT 500 seat for winner.

Cheers Aces

Title: Next Week - Free Buffet at DTD Mon - Thu 7pm to 8pm
Post by: DTD-ACES on October 08, 2014, 09:51:35 PM
Hi, next week we are doing a Complementary Buffet by our resident chef Gizmo Singh 7pm and 8pm for Monday to Thursday tournament and cash game players, when you register for the comp / cash game you will receive a buffet token and off you go. This will be in addition to Jon Kalmar 's Cash and Curry night on Thursday. Whist late reg is convenient for players who get stuck in traffic or have a early eveing prior engagement - we want to get a few more players in at the start of our weekday comps + a cash game started so we are trying this free buffet incentive next week to see if we can get at least get 50% of the field in at the start, instead of going home to eat you can now nip into DTD early for some free grub! Cheers Aces

76 players played the £20 rebuy Fast and Furious tonight creating a prizepool of £6400, same again next week and as winter approaches we will try to introduce more variety into the club evening schedule over the coming weeks and months, thanks for your support. We ran the XXL 15 turbo as well for those players that didn't like idea of a re-buy / wanted an earlier finish and 46 players played that:) 120+ poker players on a cold Nottingham Tuesday night is about as much as we could ever expect : cheers again 4 support - Aces
What are the chances of getting back to the old good structure deep stack tournament, where we used to get 500 BB starting stack. Today we start with 50,000 chips but it is only 200 BB to start with. In the grand prix we had 180 people left and the average was 15 Big Blind.

*Only* 200BB?

That's quite a lot imo. Latest tourney structure works very well iyam

Not sure how long you played in DTD, but in DTD we used to have 30,000 stack with 25-50 blind for any bigger tourney. ie. 600 BB. Today we get 50000, but start at 100 -200. So we start at 250 BB. Its only my view, I love deep stack.

That's for one or two levels though.  The new structure massively increases action early in the mtt because of forced antes from level 1 and keeps the average stack much higher bb wise for later in the mtt so its more deepstacked when it really matters.  The current 250 bb stack with antes from level 1 is the best possible structure you can play imo.

Hi guys

We have never done 500 BB. Our formats went from :

10,000 chips start at 25-50

15,000 chips start at 25-50

20,000 chips start at 50-100

30,000 chips start at 50-100

To the current format;

50,000 chips start at 100-200 25 ante

The last option gives the highest BB average per level which our computer system tracks - it's conclusive this is the best structure we have every tried.

However, the Grand Prix's always plays 'tight'' because it's such big money/golden chip prizes at stake V the buy-ins and so many seats won for small investments in pennyrolls and feeders. If we have 500BB or 40-60 min clock - I am sure many players would not join until the later levels and it could not be finished in 2 days with 2000 entries. I think making the Grand Prix a 3 day event with deeper stacks/early levels/longer clock would not be in the 'spirit' of this particular tournament as it's aimed at the majority of players that have jobs/families/etc to find time for.

Cheers Aces

I have one of those £125 token but can't make it for a couple of weeks at least......what can I use it for, never been lucky enough to win one.

Sure I read somewhere you can use it on the cash tables, or did I dream that one?

Cash game weekends, yes but not sure if any are currently planned

Most of November is the WPT festival, so  will need Glenn to let you know which events tokens are currently valid for

You can check expiry dates via mypoker in your dtd/ipoker lobby

After a weeks rest post WPT, it's back to business as usual next week with XXL 25's at £5K every night (20,000 chips starting 50-100 at 7pm and 20 min clock throughout)....and the return of one of most popular weekend concepts - The Big Game £50K GTD....full details / explanations to follow amd don't forget - Jon Kalmar had a special 5 seat satellite on Sunday for his Dtd Cardroom Xmas road trip to the GPS Grand Final at Genting Sheffied...

XXL25/50/75? Does that mean there's 3 different XXLs each week night? Or is it £25 with 2 Re loads?

I assume there is one xxl per night and you can choose what buy in level you have and either start with 20k, 40k or 60k chips.

Yes - there are NO reloads. Players choose what chips they want to start with before entering and the £25 players have 200 BB's at the start - blinds 50-100. I expect the £50 and £75 players to buy in later when the average stack is higher.

It's the one where you can buy in to Day 2 for 3x the original buyin

You can take your highest stack through although no one ever plays again once they have made day 2 so that rule is 99.9% irrelevant.

The prev Big Game was £500 day 2 buy in - this time we have reduced to £300, almost identical format to last year apart from that.

Simon, if you buy in for £20, can you re enter? Or is it a case of making your buy in decision at the start and it plays as a freeze out regardless of the buy in?

Hi Greg

You can buy in for £25, £50 or £75. Say you buy in for £25 for 20,000 chips (blinds start at 50-100, 20 minclock)- if you bust out you have the option to re-enter ONE more time for £25 (20,000 chips), £50 (40,000 chips) or £75 (60,000 chips).

Late registration is only for 5 levels of 20 mins, so I don't expect many players to bust out and therefore re-enter starting with at least 200 - 600 BB's - but the option is there - we tried FO's last month and they drilled - players want the option before they will get in car and travel nowadays. This tourney will be less 'gamble' than a reload and may suit different bankrolls and also suit players who can't get the club till later as they can buy an average stack. 7pm start time means am earlier finish - 2am - 2.30am.

As with all new ideas - we can only try! Night comps are tough to pkayers - players all want different buy ins / different formats / different start times / different finish times / different clocks and chips......only thing in common is players expect a big prizepool at DTD every night and every weekend!

Cheers Aces

Same prize pool
The buy in just determins the amount of chips you start with
£25 gets you 20k
£50 = 40k
£75=60k

The £5000 gtd XXL returns to DTD.

Starting tomorrow the XXL has a twist to its concept.
GOODBYE RELOADS, HELLO CHOOSE YOUR STACK.

It is a pretty simple concept that allows players to buy in at their comfort zone, yet all play for the £5000 gtd prizepool. At the start you buy in for the amount and stack you want.

£25 = 20k start Stack (a huge 200bbs, so plenty to play with)
£50 = 40k start stack (perfect for late entry buyins as you would still start with 100bbs in lvl 4)
£75 = 60k start stack (again aimed at late entry, though obviously an option from the off)

Still 1 re-entry allowed, at any buyin level.

We feel this concept should be far better for the £25 player, not only is he getting the £5000gte again, but having such a deep start stack, and with their being no reloads, the element of gamble should hopefully be reduced to create a better game.
Also the different stacks option make the tournament very inviting to the higher buyin player aswel as the travelling players.

7pm starts and the 20minute clock also return, so registration and re-entry end at 9pm.

We hope that you all take to the new concept and we will see more of you on a regular basis.  The big value tourneys are back.

Ryan

^^ Hi Ryan, about time you went from lurker to poster

these are Glenn's stats on the XXL25's last week

"After the WPT we considered last week a 'quiet one' but still managed nearly £30,000 in prizes just for our XXL's!

Total XXL's: 7 (including 2 x GIANTS)
Total number of players: 604
Total prize money GTD: £20,000
Total prize money collected: £29,075
Week's biggest winner: Jonny Chapman - £1,960
Stand out performer: Ed Baily - 1 x win + 1 x 2nd place.

The XXL's are bigger and better this week with £5,000 GTD every night. We're also dropping reloads but giving players three different buy-in amounts for different stacks."

Joe Smith - £50 becomes £850 payout

In 5th with a seat and £350 was £50 entry Ian Pears.

Ryan has been asking for feedback

"Okay 2 days into our new xxl format.

In the club the response is very positive. But to those of you who have tried it out.

Reload or Choose your stack.

What is your favoured format?"

last night 72 entries creating takings of £3875. So DTD added £1125.

Not had a chance to play the XXL yet but love the idea and definitely much better than reloads.

Would prefer it without the re-entry but I think they're here to stay.

Rake seems a bit harsh on the £25 guys whilst being overly generous on the £75 guys. Personally I'd buy in for £75 anyway so it's good for me but I would think 10% rake on your buy in would be much better. Make it as cheap as possible for the £25 players I say, they're the ones who fill the club during the week.

Hopefully we can top 100+ tomorrow night which is around what we would expect for a standard XXL reload - still getting players thinking they are playing for 3 different prizepools - I PROMISE YOU ALL PLAY FOR THE SAME £5000 GTD PRIZEPOOL and the comp has been finishing at 2am so players can get some rest if they have work in morning Cheers Aces

decided to play the 25/50/75 comp at dtd last night. previously its been 'reloads'.
i want to say i really enjoyed it, not played a midweek comp for a while and where as before with reloads it gets abit crazy.

i bought in for 25 with the intension of finding spots to try chip up and if go busto within the first 5 levels i could re-enter for the £50.
the first 4-5 levels our good enough to allow any player the opportunity to try this so doesnt alienate the player choosing to start with the lowest stack, enough bigs to play.
i know there was a overlay monday/tuesday but there quiet evenings anyways from what ive seen on previous weeks so maybe the club would be better doing a deepstack freezeout, turbo or bounty for those two nights with a lower gtd.

i was able to spend £30 last night and really enjoy the game and be involved in hands mostly within levels 1-5, after that it does get abit mad but its a midweek comp so has to finish at a decent time. i hope dtd stick with this and give it a good run cos i think its good :)

Well done to Sam Popple who took down the XXL last night.

Sam was in for the middle buy-in of £50 and turned that into £1500 + a £110 Big Game Seat.

Other seat winners were:
2) Asif Ilyas - £800
3) Martin Cloonan - £600
4) Anonymous - £450
5) Danish Gandhi - £350

Good Luck to them in this weeks' £50,000 GTD Big Game.

Numbers so far for the big game

76 of 236 through

£100 entry, £50,000 GTD

So it looks like a value alert is in order and there are two opportunities to play today

a) 12pm day 1 turbo, with late registration til 12.15pm

b) the day 2 at 3pm, where you can enter straight in for £300 (no re-entry) with 50x bb

Around 100 will go through from Day 1's, for £300 you can play a 1 day comp for £50,000 with approx 150 - 170 players, 35 - 40 getting paid

Just wanted to say that for a very occasional player, I thoroughly enjoyed being at DTD for the XXL on Saturday, finished about 15 places out the money but had a good run.

Also, if you are new or inexperienced at cash games (like me), give it a go.  I was fortunate enough to have a voucher that was won online which takes a bit of pressure off as it felt like I wasn't using my own cash at the tables and I had a great time.  I wanted to play longer but the table was very short handed at 3am!

Some interesting characters at the table, and a good thing to do is just listen, it can be quite funny......just wish some folk would act quicker instead of talking when it's their turn!

Hats off to DTD, keep running the satellites, so I can try in higher buy in comps or win those cash vouchers.

NEXT WEEK XXL 20 MONSTERS £20 buy in / 20k chips / 20 min clock - freeze out format with 1 re-entry - £5000 GTD (inc 10 x £110 seats )....a Club schedule a week in advance at DTD - what's going on? Had a meeting with Rob today (he's been somewhat MIA since the 21 days of the WPT) and he has told me to do this crazy 8pm tournament at the Club in the run up to Xmas starting from next Monday. A massive 250 entries needed every night at the Club - clearly impossible to achieve but he has told me to just do it.....his words " Simon - it's Xmas, just do this please - let's keep it cheap for everyone so we can see all our members over the as Xmas period and wish them happy Xmas - okay we will add a few quid but it's been a big year and everyone has supported us so let's have a fun end to it and leave some money in people's pockets for Xmas dinner, please. Plus my Dad will love this comp and I can keep and eye on his drinking when he's at the Club."

Quick question....

It says you can play at any Cash/Speed poker game, but then the terms say this.....

Please note only Status/Base points accumulated at Online Club cash Game Tables count for this promo.

Which is correct please?

I can't even find the Club Cash Game section on the client.

IMPORTANT Big Game £50K and XXL 20 £5K gaurenttees this weekend - got up to PM's asked me whether we are still running the same GTE's for the Big Game and XXL's this weekend with the awful weather - the answer is YES. We know we are going to do our brains this weekend but this is the business we are in - 80% of DTD players travel so when the weather changes - we take a battering! Cheers Aces

"As you maybe aware there were some widespread disconnection problems during this week's second Online Day 1 of the £50,000 GTD Big Game.

As a result the chip counts at the end of level 10 were not a fair representation and we have decided to take the following steps in fairness of the game:

All players that remained at the end of level 10 in the Day 1 will go through to Day 2 with a Day 2 buy-in stack of 150,000 chips.

Those players nicknames are:
xxOmgUrFitxx
T1mmyrara
jonnyconcrete1
no1BetIBet
POKERNUTS99
dayle91
CANCELc1
van0908
TFossy23

Anyone else affected who has spoken to us via support or to me directly, and is not on that list, will receive a refund/gesture of goodwill accordingly.

Nope no late reg either

It says late reg until 7.50pm above which is why I asked.

the answer came back as follows

"Yes as we have late reg this time then 1 re-entry is allowed"

"Please note Day 2 of Big Game this week is Saturday 5pm as we have the pub league finals on Sunday.

Please also note that we have returned to the original Big Game structure where blinds start 600-1200 on Day 2 and there is LR and + 1 RE till 7:30pm for £300 players.

we prob should not have changed this in the first place as the extra deeper play was always popular with £100 and Day 2 players .

Cheers Aces"

Say I make it through from Day 1 but bust early. Can I buy-in for day 2? If I can, and I bust again before end of late reg, can I re-enter?

I'm very optimistic :)

At DTD last night the bad beat low jackpot was won and £5,000 was shared out

Sunil, the loser, took home £2,000

AAA88 losing versus AAA1010

the low jackpot resets again, and the high jackpot has been climbing since inception, now over £30k if quad tens or better are beaten

"Simon Trumper

Hi All

For next 2 weeks we our keeping the nightly Super 50 and XXL 15 but with a couple of alterations..

The Super 50 from Sun to Thu is now £3000 cash only ( no included seats ) the winner recieves a minimum £1000 and an example payout will be on our site as below..

When the guarantee has not been exceeded this will be the payout ..

1st £1000
2nd £600
3rd £400
4th £300
5th £250
6th £200
7th £150
8th £100

Sundays Super 50 will be a Turbo with a 15 min clock and for next 2 weeks while we are open for our pub poker league start time moves to 7pm.

Fridays and Saturdays Super 50 will now be guaranteed at £5000 including 9 x £110 Big Game seats, payout will be min 9 places after deduction of seats.. Saturdays game will start 7pm

The XXL15 will now be guaranteed at £1500 cash each night ( no included seats ) it will have 4 x 20 min levels of late reg then after 20 min break go to 15 min levels, chips have been doubled to 50,000, Mon to Fri 8pm start, Sat Sun for next 2 weeks 7pm start..with this structure will be a lot of fun to play, min 1st prize is £500 ( see sample payout below ) and it should finish at a more suitable time give the increased field expected with triple last weeks guarantee smile emoticon

Late reg on both comps is 9.40pm. during week, 8.40pm when a 7pm start..

We are also adding a Sat afternoon comp XXL£25 50,000 chips with the Super 50 structure, starts 5pm, late reg 6.40pm, 20 min clock throughout. Guarantee £1000

No average stack for any of these comps..

Also shot clock is being introduced to encourage smoother play, all players have 20 seconds to make a decision and 1 ticket that gives them a 1 minute extension if required, this has proven very popular with our Turbo comps and we hope you all like it smile emoticon

Cheers

ACES"

Introducing 'Shot Clock.'

This will now apply to all DTD weeknight tournaments. Players are given 20 seconds to make their decision (this is monitored by the dealers) and their hand will be declared dead if they fail to act.

Players are also given a 1 minute 'timebank' card for any difficult decisions.

This will speed up the game and provide more play at 'the business end' of comps. Look for (SC) on the schedule.

Hi, just to clarify, is this schedule described by Simon the accurate one for next week, including 7pm starts?  The website is showing XXL 30s with a £5k gte (inc seats) and 8pm start.  I'm wondering whether to brave the rush hour M1 traffic to make my first midweek trip for a while.  I like the shot clock introduction, but not keen on 7pm starts.

Title: changes to the DTD Big game from this week
Post by: TightEnd on March 23, 2015, 02:28:27 PM
Starting this week -

the  Weekly Big Game just got bigger and a LOT more flexible,

£50,000 GTD and the option of playing Online Day 1's from TONIGHT for £30+£3.

Plus players who make Day 2 (live or online) now win "Day 2 Chipstacks" that can be used on ANY Big Game weekend i.e. you make it through tonight - you don't have to play this Saturday, you just turn up any and Big Game Day 2 of your choice with no expiry

This is the same for players who win through multiple Day 1's, you simply have more Day 2 Chipstacks to be used whenever you feel like coming to DTD, you can even use your Day 2 Chipstacks as a Day 2 re-entry and Day 1 players who make Day 2 have the same late reg privileges as a Day 2 DBI player,

a lot to take in but here is the information on this link

http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/news/big-game/2469#concept

I'm scratching my head here.

I could play an online day 1 and build a stack of 150k, but choose not to play the day 2 on the next Saturday.

I'm assuming my buyin goes into that weeks prize pool, irrelevant of whether I choose to play the Day 2 or not ?

Surely this is going to create some anomalies with regard to chips in play and prize pools further down the line.

Or do people think it will just smooth itself out as it goes ?

Title: Re: changes to the DTD Big game from this week
Post by: EvilPie on March 23, 2015, 05:43:45 PM
Think this is a great idea and I hope it works out.

From what I could gather from speaking to Simon your stack will carry its equivalent cash value in to whichever day 2 you choose to play.

If you win 150k chips then whichever day 2 you choose to play gets £300 in its prizepool. If you win 100k then it's £200. 50k it's £100 (+ reg fee of course.....)

Because the prizepools are guaranteed it shouldn't matter to the players when they play their day 2 although if you have a huge stack you may want to save it for a week when there's an overlay.......

You can win 5 stacks at 50k, 60k, 100k, 150k and 300k and basically play them whenever you like. You can even use them to re-enter. You could go to the cash desk and ask for one of your small stacks so that you can try a spin. If that fails but you think there's great value that day you might decide it's time to use that big 300k stack.

It needs time to balance itself out and DTD have clearly decided to commit to it because if they scrap it presumably they have to refund the value of all those stacks!!

This works so well for people who want to play every night online because it doesn't matter how many stacks they win they'll always be able to use them.

I'm sure there must be a downside somewhere but I'm struggling to find it at the moment......

It may be a bit weird the first few weeks as they try to get the average day 2 stack about right.

I think they've got it right for the live day 1s which work out about 150k but by playing 16 levels online it'll be a while before they know if they've got it right.

Obviously they need the average stack through to day 2 to be as close as possible to 150k as if it's way out there's a big advantage to someone.

Thanks Matt.

That makes a bit more sense now with regard to the way the prize pool is managed.

As you say, serious commitment going forward for these. All sounds good.

After the first full week I can confirm it is running smoothly. Chip stacks are maintained and kept on file if not used and simply crossed off when they are. We had 235 runners across all the Online Day 1's last week (it did not run on Saturday, but that was kind of expected with it being Day 2.) 19 from that figure made a Day 2 meaning the chips worked out okay.

I might even give it a go, boss permitting ;)

Incredible 100 or Big Game would be my guess. both well known and popular formats.

the partypoker grand prix million begins in mid may, so i doubt it will be something too unusua/hugel in advance of that

DTD Cash Game Announcement

"Dusk Till Dawn has always worked hard to give its costumers the best value tournaments available and few could argue that we don't deliver. It's now time to do the same with our cash games. We have some exciting and fun promotions to be announced in the very near future for cash game players, so watch this space

From this week all 1/1 cash games, Holdem, Omaha, DC or a round of each will be raked at 5% and capped at £5. anyone playing 1/2 or above receives a £10 food voucher after just 2 hours of play.

If you wish to join an invite list for arranged games please contact Jon Kalmar (Skalie) who will be happy to help. Currently he regularly runs arranged cash games from 1/1 up to the 5/5 VIP games of all formats."

£10,000 GTD and the chance to play Rob not enough for you?

For the EXCLUSIVE launch week of Beat the Boss we've added to the roster. As well as Rob, qualifiers will also be taking on Carl 'The Cobra' Froch! Carl will take a seat at the live streamed feature table on Monday and players will compete against him and Rob to take home their share of the £10,000 GTE!

We've got two players through so far and 5 more spots up for grabs with satellites nightly up until Sunday on partypoker. It's just $120 to buy-in.

Hi Tighty, know you are busy but when you got a min, could you tell me how many levels per flight will be played in the POKERFESTMINI aug 29th/30th.
I see there is a day 1(10.30am) on same day as final (3pm) i am guessing this just overlaps and any qualifiers from that flight just carry straight on?
Thanks.

Planning to play the mini live on Friday.  DTD's home page shows two flights one at 3.00pm and one at 7.00pm however when clicking through the pokerfest mini banner and looking at the schedule there is only one flight at 7.00pm.  Please could someone confirm which is correct.

thanks in advance

Pokerfest Live kicks off with a massive tournament for recreational players

partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn’s brand new Pokerfest Live festival kicks off this week in style, with the huge £150,000 Guaranteed, £60 + £10 Buy-In Pokerfest Mini, which takes place this week with Online Day 1s.  The first Live Day 1s start at 3pm on Friday 28th August 2015 at Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham, UK.

With a massive field of over 2500 players expected to turn out, this could be one of the largest live tournaments in UK poker history, and Dusk Till Dawn’s Rob Yong is clearly excited about the prospect.

“We’ve seen a clear desire to provide large field, low buy in events for recreational players in the UK, and we love hosting them at DTD.  Seeing a club packed with people for a weekend’s poker tournaments where they are clearly having fun is a great sight”

The full Pokerfest Live schedule can be found here, but in summary the festival starts with the £150k Guaranteed Pokerfest Mini (Day 1s running from now until Sunday 30th August), includes a 6-Max, Seniors (50+), PLO Double Chance, Ladies Event and a High Roller.  And of course the flagship £300,000 Guaranteed Pokerfest Live Main Event with Day 1s starting on Sunday 30th August and running to Saturday 5th September.

The whole festival includes £670,000 in Guarantees, and all events use the Dusk Till Dawn “Deepstack” structure, which is renowned as being just about the best in the business.

Online satellites are running daily on partypoker and any players holding $109 DTD Tickets can use them to play the Pokerfest Mini.

“Our partnership with partypoker enables us to do exciting things, such as bring what was an online poker series to the live UK poker market, we are thrilled to be able to host such an event, and look forward to doing many more in the future” Rob Yong added.

Pokerfest Live Mini:

If you played the Online Day 1's last night the chances are I unfortunately won't be able to get a confirmation email to you before 3pm but here's how it all works.

- If you were still in when the blinds went to 1/2 at Level 17, well done you made it through! You will be bringing forward whatever you finished level 16 with. Day 2 starts at 3pm, but if you could be 15 minutes early that would be great.

- If you aren't happy with your stack, you can play this morning's Turbo to try and beat it! You will take the highest stack of the two through.

If you have a $109 ticket and want to play the turbo, Cashdesk and I have plenty of iPads in the club for regging into holding tanks.

Players may also use tickets for the £20,000 GTD Mini Second Chance that get's underway today.

Agreed, the "link" is dead, or unclickable.

I'm really undecided, in truth. 20 runners or whatever would be stunning value, but does not quite have the "feel" I enjoy.

I've gone from 60-50, to 40-70. That's % chance of playing, not how fast I'll drive.

I have to decide by mid-morning, as I need to allow 3 hours for the drive.

Jeez, do all senior folks dither this much? Dithering, ear hair, being patronised by kids. Old age sucks sometimes.

Think I will go.

That means 3 hours to get there in the car, worrying if I've done the wrong thing.

And 3 hours drive back, re-assured that I was right all along, & should not have bothered.

That's pre-hindsight.

I do dumb like nobody on earth.

I could not resist......

After 3 levels, 24 entrants. With the Seniors in late stage (poker) a few of those will enter later, too. Late reg is until 7.15 I believe.

Am on Table Goulder, which is pleasing, and it is a nice, sociable table. One aggro young man, too, (poker) but I have position on both him and Mr Goulder.

Really enjoying it so far.

The freeroll will take at 7pm on partypoker (its there under freerolls)

Prizes: 100 x $530 seats – £34K
Late reg: Level 12 (5 min blinds)

if you win one of the 100 seats it has to be used in the pokerfest main event this weekend

Sadly yes. Bust the penultimate hand of the day, with 4 mins left on the clock.

I wasn't that romantic about the end-of-the-day thing tbh. I'd lost a huge pot a couple of hands earlier (flush over flush) and had found a really perfect (albeit a bit funky - Marc will be proud when I tell him) squeeze spot that would have given me a decent stack to go on for the FT with. And it sooooooooo nearly worked. Bar a clock call (by me) and a pesky river.

It's always nice to bag up, especially after a long day of play, but I'd have taken that spot at any time. Just one of those things.

Good to see you Tikay and glad you got home okay x

No the big WPT festival begins in the last week of October. expect a range of side events

for a non festival week before or after the WPT, yes those sort of events are a good assumption

LADIES

1    Vanessa Haney    £5,250.00
2    Lorraine Wasiuta    £3,150.00
3    Jessica Pilkington    £2,100.00
4    Amanda Birney    £1,400.00
5    Hazel Birchnall    £900.00

Well played Amanda Birney, on my table for most of the first day of the Goliath and a known face from a couple of my local tourneys

Good with table banter and a pleasure to play with even if she did get dealt kings 7 times within the first 6 levels at Cov   ;D

Could still see right through her 'Oh aren't I just a lucky woman' act though :)

Lovely lady.

Does this mean spare seats won this week carry over to future events ??
Somebody said / I read somewhere if there was an overlay seats won but unused would be forfeited ??

He give away £30k of seats in a freeroll earlier in the week online.  Only reason he made the gtd.  He knew he was under the cosh so decided rather than iron out £30k to pros via the prize pool he would let 100 normal punters in (smart business decision as he gets another 100 people into the club spending).  Without giving away 100 seats he is £30k 'light'.  Funny how people see 'making the gtd'

I think tony means because they met the gtd that any seats won this week would be carried forward.  DTD have previous for saying if you win a seat it is dead if you don't turn up unless they make the gtd for the said event then you can carry the credit forward for the future.

Not saying it is right or wrong just saying what i think he is implying.

Does this mean spare seats won this week carry over to future events ??
Somebody said / I read somewhere if there was an overlay seats won but unused would be forfeited ??

there was no overlay

I think tony means because they met the gtd that any seats won this week would be carried forward.  DTD have previous for saying if you win a seat it is dead if you don't turn up unless they make the gtd for the said event then you can carry the credit forward for the future.

Not saying it is right or wrong just saying what i think he is implying.

Yes correct

i've emailed Nicola to ask

Was a bit gutted to misss out on a $530 seat this week but enjoyed the satties on Party a lot!

A quick question about the $530 tkts.

How long do they last for? Also, are they usable in any £330 entry tourney?

Also, other than the Grand Prox, are the $109's ever usable?

Ticket validity for these is usually a year. You can use them for any £330 or we will facilitate part payment for WPT500

Yep, you can use them in some partypoker online comps I believe and SATS for more $530's

Hope the above helps :)

and also

There is a new Daily tournament in the lobby, the 7pm Daily Major: $25,000 Gtd is now taking registrations for a buy-in of $109.

And all those people with $109 DTD Tickets in their accounts can use them to play the $25,000 Daily.

And...if you also have a Grand Prix Golden Chip along with your $109 DTD Ticket, don't worry you'll keep the Grand Prix Golden Chip, even if you use the $109 Ticket to play the $25k, Grand Prix Golden Chips remain in the leaderboard until you play a Grand Prix Day 1.

Tonight the new tinkered XXL30 Giant starts at 8pm.

Players will start with 10K chips and have the option to take up to two reloads. There is no re-entry.

The comp will play out on the new structure with blinds starting at 50/100. So you can start with up to 300bb if you wish.

The Tournament schedule remains the same with the following tweaks to guarantees and the way we display them for transparency.

XXL15's
£570 GTD - £500 Cash + £70 Grand Prix Seat

Super50's
£2,330 GTD - £2000 Cash + £330 Seat

XXL Giant 30 Friday
£10,100 GTD - £9,000 Cash + 2 x £550 WPT500 Seats

XXL30 Giant Saturday
£5,050 GTD - £4,500 + £550 WPT500 Seat

The reason we now have a £330 on top of the £2,000 cash for the Super50's is because we have a £122,000 GTD (£100,000 cash + 10 x £2,200 WPT seats) Deepstack next week.

Thought I'd make a little poker comeback for this comp following the changes DTD have recently made particularly with making the comps freezeouts.

Why, when it's clearly advertised as a freezeout was there one re-entry?

I genuinely would not have played this if I'd known it was a re-entry. I just don't like them so choose not to play.

What's going on?

The Deepstack has separate flights that are freeze outs but you can enter a future flight if you go out of a previous one. "

Would you ask Simon to stop advertising them as freeze outs then please.

I honestly don't mind what the format of a comp is as long as it's clear. That way I can make my decision whether to play or not.

Simon's comments on this faternoon's competition

" £150 Six Max a £15,000 Gtd this weekend at the Club

As usual we continue to try different things and this weekend we have a £150 6 Max, mirroring the format of the WPT 6 max side event where players can play 8 levels on Day 1 or buy into day 2 for £150 and get 50BBs. We are using the WPT blind structure with 30 min clock, with tables only being 6 handed this is the same as 40 min clock 9 handed. It's a perfect comp for players that like 6 Max, a smaller pool of players that ring game but it's a format of poker that we are always trying to get behind.

This weekend is £15,000 Gtd, 100 entries, we will see whether it's supported before deciding whether to run it again. Local players have messaged me on FB asking for a Day 1 on Thursdays night as 8 levels of 30 mins plus breaks finishes at a sociable work in morning friendly 00:20, but I need to see whether we can get 100 entries with this format first. We know 6 Max always gets less runners than a normal comp so I will review on Sunday. "
