Title: Hi new here :)
Post by: PokerGal on September 25, 2014, 12:14:26 PM
Hey everybody, thought I would just make this post to introduce myself as I am new here :)

My name is Mya, a 23 year old poker enthusiast from England. I started playing poker a few years ago and it was love at first sight! Since then I have been striving to learn more about the game and gain as much experience as I can.

I am hoping this community can help me do just that. Just had a quick browse and it looks great :)

The forum really has a mix between every limit and degree of seriousness. There are several pros, semi pros and former pros who focus on other things as well as a myriad of recreational players who play from micro to high stakes. New people sometimes get offended by PHA posts which can be a bit shirty at times but stay relaxed and listen to posts and you'll get along fine. Everyone is pretty nice here unless your an arse. I had a spell of posting in every single pha thread and no one seemed to mind, get involved and have fun.

P.S Watch out for "Tikay" He is a bit set in his ways.

Welcome to blonde! The best thread by far is my diary, check it out ;)

Also watch out for rexas, hes a serial flirt, and has a quite horrifying clump of facial hair! Get stuck in, especially on the PHAs, got some of the UKs/ Worlds best giving their time helping and offering advice. Just make sure you take full advantage of it!

Oh hi Melissa.

Sorry about the confusion, my bad. It's just that PokerGal is a similar age to you and a similar gender. She posts in the same style as you and has the same people posting in the same familiar terms on her thread as they used to post on yours. Anyone would think they had known her for ages.

Anyway, she says she likes my diary so I hope she sticks around. (You too for that matter) I'd hate to think that your only reason for posting again after an absence of 8 months was to tell me I'm wrong  :)

I have been once and wondered what all the fuss and, more importantly, expense was about.  Would rather go to KFC at half the price and eat better food and twice as much of it with the same level of service (ie none).

wait, what.

You can't compare nando's and KFC imo, they are different meals entirely, just so happens they are both chicken.

The difference was highlighted quite superbly by a day I had quite recently...

I woke up with a terrible hangover, went downstairs and watched the golf for ~6 hours, then i realised I was hungry, I was wearing a tracksuit still had some ink stamp on my hand from the night before that i couldn't wash off, morale understandably very, very low...the answer was really very obvious - KFC. Zynga burger, boneless banquet and mountains of chips + one of those horrible Krushem's later I was feeling miles better.

Obviously was pretty tired so I went for a nap, 4/5 of hours later I wake up, realise I'm now hungry again but in a much better frame of mind and MOTD was about to start, answer was very obvious - Nando's.

Similarly, and you might all relate to this, the Nando's outside DTD, an ideal pre-tournament meal location - but when you've busted the comp and you're pretty steamed up, do you wanna go for a tilt-nando's? Absolutely not, it's not gonna take the pain away, not at all. KFC will though, KFC will make everything better.

Two very different meals, both have there big part to play in our lives but one certainly couldn't replace the other.

Great post, but re-read it five times to make sure it wasn't a subliminal advert for a certain fish and chip shop...

I used to play for Hellingly, but never played at Heathfield.  Did play Tunbriidge Wells borders a few times though

Daughter has part time job in KFC so she won't let me come in now, as last time I did I had to be propped up outside while she rang a taxi to take me home. I suppose I could try going in sober next time but where's the joy in that?

So it's Nandos for me also, but it's more of a neccesity due to no other option.

Welcome pokergal.

Usually go to Heathfield for their auctions
