Title: Boo..........
Post by: tikay on October 19, 2014, 08:36:23 AM

One of the great blonde stalwarts, Booder, is a little unwell.

He had a bit of a heart attack on Friday night, & is being detained in hossie for the next 3 or 4 days.

Boo - David Baker - is a real man, a man's man, & seems to be in fine spirits now.

Any messages of support for Boo would, I'm sure, mean a great deal to him, he loves blonde, & has some really close friends here.

I'm grateful to Nakor, a friend of David, for letting me know about this last night.

He texted me to tell me David was unwell, & would be in hospital overnight.

He said David was in good spirits. Initially, he was in "excruciating pain", but by yesterday morning, he was well enough to complain that he was unable to follow Saturday's football, & especially his beloved Manchester United.

I sent Boo at text @ 9pm last night, as soon as I heard.

He replied - jauntily & cheerily - this morning @ 0730, so he must have his 'phone with him at the hospital. He said he hopes to be home within 3 or 4 days.

If anyone wants to send him a text to cheer him up & wish him well, PM me & I'll give you his number.

Get well soon David.

All the best from a fellow United supporter.

At least you have another day and a bit to be well enough to put yourself through an away game vs unfancied Midlands opposition.

The old boy thanks you all for your messages

Angiogram tomorrow so will know more then.

He is in good spirits all things considered.  Anya got him smiling.  He has given up smoking and cured his needle phobia so a couple of wins.
He has no Internet access, but has X Factor on series link so is happy he wont miss anything important.

Will go and see him again Tuesday evening.

Yes. I can't believe that someone would be daft enough to try to exist on a diet of fags. lattes and sticky buns in this day and age.

I think the moral of the story is call a f'kin ambulance when you are ezcruitiating pain for more then say a minute.  No need to hope it goes away.

Friday.....awoke  about midnight ,  crushing pain in my chest, very nauseus  , sweating , really sweating .

The nausea disappeared so i downed a couple of Nurofen and made my way back to the bedroom.  I suppose the pain lasted about twenty five minutes then it disappeared as quickly as it had arrived.

Ten minutes after settling down ,the pain returned.I just thought it would disappear again.

Seven hours later , although the pain had eased a fair bit ,it was still present so i decided to ring the medical advice line who immediately sent an ambulance.

Saturday ,Sunday , Monday  saw me wired up to machines , providing blood samples , answering questions and peeing into bottles.(confined to bed)

Tuesday...2PM  Angiogram.   Was bricking it and told the doctors that i was terrified. They promised to keep me well sedated and were true to their word. I was even brave enough to watch what was happening via the screens.   :D

90 minutes after starting , they had fitted two stents

Wednesday...discharge day.

Just have to return to have another stent fitted, but already i feel like a new man.  My blood pressure when i entered hospital was 80 ish over 64 , it is now about 100 so has increased by 25%.

Here is a link to the operation   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BuazAhs7uA

It is amazing really Tom. Former Norwich footballer Richard Symonds was telling me how he needed a stent ten years ago but Norfolk and Norwich Hospital were not geared up to do them and he had to go to Papworth.
Now they have three operating theatres and are busy all day long.
