My name is Tom High. None of you will have heard of me.
I'm off to Prague in a couple of days and will be getting involved in as much of the action as possible.

Why am I a good investment?
I've been playing professionally for a few years now and this last year has been by a distance my most profitable. I've had a number of good scores both online and live.

I've been to Prague before and love the place. Feel really comfortable playing live and although it's my birthday while i'm out there, i'll be focussing fully on the business side of the trip. I've been very close to some very big scores both online and live this year and i'm hoping it's a matter of time.

Hopefully i'll make some day 2s and get some refunds going. Better yet do some cashing.

Going to close it there at 60% sold, i've bought in and played a bit of cash at the venue this evening. Settled into the appartment (which is really nice) and feel good to go for tomorrow. Going to get to sleep soon so i'm fresh for the grind tomorrow. Looking forward to this one, should be plenty of value about before the big dogs turn up for EPT stuff.

1st break got 33k from 30k. Got literally the worst table ever. Chidwick, Shannon Shorr, DPeters and one of their mates all in a line to my left. Marvin Rettenmaeir to my right. Couple of spots aside from those, but should be interesting! Gl me

47k 2nd break. Shorr bust, but still tough table. Feeling good about my decisions this far though

35k now just about to go on dinner break. Really card dead 2 levels. Just lost pretty annoying all-in opening CO KJcc to 1k @ 200/400 and call dpeters jam for 6.5k in bb with KTs. Rivered T. About 50k if I hold. Still feel I'm playing good. Just two levels to play after dinner

Scrap that. 43k on dinner. Flopped flush and got 2 streets. Think I was really close to getting called on river for another 9k too

Made day 2 with 37,200
Got up to 55k, but lost 3bet pot to Stevie444 in the last level.

Can only imagine I'll get a better table tomorrow. Still got plenty of bigs, go back to 400/800/100

Not exactly sure what i'm going to do with my day off tomorrow. Not much running and all the boys will be playing 1B.
Stato and Deadman arrived today, so will be cool getting together with everyone at some point.

Won't find many tougher tables than that on an EPT HR. wpwp and gl for day 2

for the 1st half of the day it was Shorr, DPeters, rec, rec, Marvin, decent unknown, Me, Steven Chidwick, good American (friends with Shorr, DPeters etc)
then 2nd half it was Shorr, good American relocated to Mexico reg, rec, Marvin, decent unkown, Me, Steven Chidwick, good American (friends with Chidwick + fellow runitonce coach)

not even like the recs were terrible either, just tight. Pleased with how i played tbh, didn't feel out of my depth

Bust. Thoroughly depressing day 2.

Got a pretty bad table draw again (not that it mattered). Had the CL, Stato, Pistons87 and Anton Wigg all there. Didnt play a hand for first 40 mins of play, table was pretty active. Eventually found a spot to get involved, peeling J9 from bb vs Pistons MP open, floped an OESD on KT8, called 2 streets and lost to 99 when it bricked off to leave me with 26k or so.
Then few hands later Pistons opens UTG, Wigg calls, I peel 77 from CO and stato flicks in the bb. Comes 865 and Pistons c-bets 5k into like 9.5k, he's been super active and c-bet every time he's seen a flop, so don't think i have much option but to rip my 23/24k ive got back, can probs get called by worse and always have reasonable equity. Less so when he has 99 again. Bricked off again and gg.

Pretty disappointed to bust and get such bad table draws throughout, sounded like there was value out there. Sorry guys

All that means I get to spend my birthday alone in the apartment while everyone else grinds day 2... so that's great.

Slight oversight on the EUREKA. Apparently you cant re-enter, so i'm just going to be playing 1B tomorrow. More refunds. Practically winning now i guess.

Not good news from the 1k.
Lost a few early pots in the first couple of levels, two notables included opening  Qh 9h from the CO, getting peel by the bb and calling a raise on Q64cc. I called the T turn too and checked back a brick river to be shown AA.
Then had one where weak rec MP limps @ 50/100, French HJ makes it 225, so I make it 725 in the CO with AK. MP peeled and then the French guy makes it 2250. Seemed really FOS to me, his ISO sizing pre was so small, can't imagine he'd make it 225 with premiums, but obviously not keen on 3/5/7ing 170bb pre antes, so i just peel the 2250.
Flop Q56 check check, turn 2, he bets 2k, i call. River 9 he bets 4k and i reluctantly fold. Maybe should just fold turn, but felt so weird. He may well be bluffing river with better hand, or maybe he somehow had it.
Anyway that all meant i made dinner with 14k going back to 300/600. Peeled a HJ open from the btn with 97cc and float Q65c, bet J turn and get called :(. River a 9, which i felt was good quite a lot vs this specific villain (opened super wide and c-bet 100%). But he had KQs on this ocassion.
Got a 3-bet jam through with AK but was then pretty card dead and ended up jamming HJ for 9.5bb with KJo and getting a tank call from bb with A8o. Lots of bricks and I was out.

Real shame because it got tonnes of runners and my table was really really soft. Think i misplayed a couple of hands early on, but was really focused on grinding it out, it just didnt happen. Was a bad comp for the boys, most of the group had bust before me!

On to the HR. Going to rest up tomorrow as i'm feeling a bit drained atm

Played the Highroller today.
Got off to a pretty awful start (again). Had a table that was probably fairly tough relative to the overall field, Dom Nitche and a few guys I recognised from big live events. Called a couple of streets with AT on AJxKJ before folding river to lose a couple of thousand, then had a cruel one where I open AJ and bet big 3 streets on TxxA7 vs Dom, who had A7s. That left me down to 13k on the first break from 20k start stack.
From then on i was horrendously card and spot dead, barely remember playing a hand for a couple of levels before our table finally broke at 300/600/100 where i had about 11k.
New table was incredible, somehow i'd found EPT.fr with at least 70% of the table being French and very spewy on initial observation.
Got in my stack @ 400/800 with AK v A5dd and somehow held on A87dd 6. Lost an annoying one where i called a couple of streets with A-high vs a guy who rivered a pair... I probably should have found the river fold tbh.
Exit hand was kind of interesting. Peeled in a spot i usually wouldn't, but with 13.5bb, blinds who would gift me a double provided i flop anything and getting  Jc Qc. I peeled a UTG2 open, bb flicked it in and we went 3-ways to  Ac Js 9c. UTG+2 c-bet pretty big, and I just have to get it in with a ton of equity, even though likely behind. UTG2 calls with AQ and we brick. Sorry guys, really wish i'd got something going. I was pretty disappointed with the structure of this one, 20k start stack and several levels not included, it just got very shallow very quickly.

Don't think i made loads of mistakes, just needed to find some better spots and get some heat. Refunds will be on their way from the 2 bullets I didn't use. Probably do it when i'm back in the UK on 13th.
