Posting this as it's happening as I can't do much else. I'm in a seat position in the first GP sat on Party (first game I've played) and the software has frozen me out. Can't log back in having tried two different machines. Not the greatest experience.

Party's online software is a total disaster. They have been having lots of server problems which has including cancelling and refunding all in-progress tourneys

Who had day 1 of the mini in the sweep?

Glenn Townsend: partypoker are starting to cancel in play tournaments and will refund players as per their disconnection policy. I am seeking clarification on what will happen to the Online Day 1 where there is no physical prize.

I'm pretty sure DTD will see this as much of an inconvenience as we do when they have lost one leg of a meaty gtee and it cannot be realistically resheduled as it would impact on the live legs so they have lost £10k plus from the pool already.

Not sure what compensation anyone would want/expect or what could ever be given.

Agreed, but I think the compensation should come out of party pokers pot not DTD

Agree!! Also affects the confidence of the poker community. I've be playing on their site the last few days and no problems until tonight.

But a terrible shame for those who had started to build their stacks, it's a pity that they can't pause it and restart it tomorrow night.

Should we be playing these??  I don't want to bust now and not get a refund (if applicable)

So I'm sat here trying to play Online day 1 while cooking dinner (Yes, I know it's quarter past midnight) because I was expecting the tournament to be cancelled and I got bored of waiting around after an hour and a half.

Absolutely pathetic decision.

Title: Re: Partypoker down?
Post by: DingleBelle on February 17, 2015, 12:54:39 AM
Not shooting the messenger at all guys, but this is really hard.

The tournament isn't playing properly, people are either timed out or disconnected and people aren't playing properly.  Chips flying in all over the place and people are just saying it "doesn't matter" as it's either going to get cancelled any moment or we're all going to get refunded.

I'm gonna send Sean Dyche down to PP  ;yellowcard;

I received an email from PP this morning about cancelled satellites last night. Basically they have split 50% of prize pool equally among remaining players and then split the other 50% based on chip counts, with reg fee returned also.  Sounds to me like it's the best solution possible, a lot better than just getting entry fees returned.

I've not had anything but I'm not sure what's happening as our tables loaded at the last minute and we were told to play on (albeit in a bery confusing manner).

Just not sure what pool of players are affected and which aren't?

Sure I'm probably jumping the gun here tho and there'll be an announcement soon.

Title: Re: Partypoker down?

Had a quick chat with Glenn this morning and obviously DTD Management are working through with party for a fair resolution for each player

i think (i wasn't in the loop, and can't speak for dtd) from following things last night that a message that the sats were to be cancelled was followed 45 mins later by some then re-opening (those with late reg still open), some didn't

not ideal, and now everything needs to be worked through

Did the day pkay out then of are people getting refunds? Seem to be hearing conflicting messages

this is only my understanding, not an "official" line. I am waiting to hear further like everyone else

some resumed, and played out (the UKPC Main sat "closed" on the bubble too with 6 left 5 seats)

some did not resume (GP sat) and was refunded/paid out in accordance with PP rules

hence depending on what you played last night you will have an email or not

Any updates on the outcome of yesterdays technical problems. Was hopeful of a 2nd chance at the £165online tonight but no word from customer support and nothing posted on dtd. Very frustrating as was very pleased when I heard about the switch away from ipoker. Bad start but hopefully things can be rectified.

Disconnection Solutions

"UKPC Main Event Final - This was refunded as per partypoker's disconnection policy. We are contacting the six players who remained when the tournament was closed to arrange that they all receive a Main Event seat in exchange for the refunded SAT prizepool. This means we are giving away one extra Main Event seat, as the tournament should have paid out five seats.  Furthermore anyone in this tournament that was affected by the disconnections should please contact partypoker support who will be happy to arrange a refund of your buy-in and rebuys/add ons in tournament dollars ($).

UKPC Mini Online Day 1 - All players that rode out the 14 levels will progress to Day 2 with the stack they finished level 14 on. These players will be contacted within 24 hours. Anyone in this tournament that was affected by the disconnections should please contact partypoker support who will be happy to arrange a refund of your buy-in and rebuys/add ons in tournament dollars ($).

UKPC Mini Satellite - Anyone in this tournament that was affected by the disconnections should please contact partypoker support who will be happy to arrange a refund of your buy-in and rebuys/add ons in tournament dollars ($)

The Grand Prix SATS were refunded as per partypoker disconnection policy and therefore no further action needs to be taken regarding this."

Be interesting to see if they can just refund the £165 and start again. I personally will never play anything on partypoker over a 1p initial buy in if they don't. Really hope this gets sorted in a positive fashion.

Title: Re: Partypoker down?

Ok well the outcome is that they have said

"Please be informed that I am going to escalate this matter further to our respective team for further review.  As soon as more information is available we will get back to you".

So there is some hope...not much but some.

Hopefully, someone much more important than me can get on to them.

The UKPC Mini Online Day 1 had 100 runners.

I think 12 went out before the DC, and 12 got through to day 2....so 76 players to sort out.

It seems if you didnt play after the DC  and were blinded out, you are going to get tournament dollars of $165.....maybe about a third ish.? (25?)

So you have about 50 players left...

As they are refunding tournament dollars...they will be used again on another day1

Sure some of the 50 players would have paid cash to re enter.....but the goodwill factor?

Think they should just refund regardless of whether it was played out or not. Service disruption for this long just isn't fair

^^ This

I logged back in after longer than some to find one person had hoovered up everyones chips as he was the only one on the table for at least a few minutes and as my screen shot from the disco showed he chipped up by 40-50k in a short time.

I am a bit disappointed that no one from DTD has been able to comment yet itt especially as Frankie texted me to say Simon had told him on the phone that all players who had not bust out before the disco would get a refund as I posted itt or another thread for PP

Title: Re: Partypoker down?
Post by: DingleBelle on February 17, 2015, 09:27:13 PM
I am feeling confident about this as DTD will sort it.

The problem seems to be that the advisors on the front line have not been told anything.

I am on live chat now and the guy is telling me that there was "no problem with the UKPC Day 1 Mini last night and it played out fine".  *bangs head against wall*.

Be patient folks.  The DTD statement is out there and they have sorted it.  We just need to wait for the message to get to the front line and I am sure it will be resolved.

I was kind of hoping it would be resolved before the 9pm start tonight, but not to be....

Agree what has already been said that DTD does always try to put the poker player first. I was really disappointed last night but I was also very hopeful that DTD would sort out this debacle. I doubt anyone could say that after the break they were still focused especially with the dynamics of the table being so affected.

Thanks again

I am going to look into this myself, as you have posted it on every thread I've read! This was before DTD but I will try my best anyway for you. I assume you will be under Patrick Leonard and were playing through pokerstategy - leave this with me for 24 hours mate. And I need well know players like you to show me some faith going forward, judge partypoker and DTD from now, that's what I asked for in my blog.

Post by: robyong on February 18, 2015, 05:34:04 AM
Guys,

Sorry.

Going forward the software will go down, we are going to get these nights, even apple and facebook have glitches, that's always gonna happen online, especially when new releases come out.

But hopefully this will not not happen as much on partypoker as it did on ipoker over last 6 months (which kind of wasn't anyone's fault, Genting moved to their own single wallet, and we were with Genting, but things didn't sync IT wise as well as Genting and ipoker had hoped, so DTD got dragged along into these problems aswell).

When the software does goes down, and everyone is posting everywhere "what are xxxx DTD gonna do about this", we can't come on and answer straight away, we don't know how long the software is going to be down for, could be 5 mins, could be permanent.

I railed all the sats last night, Simon wanted to post, but I told all my staff to wait till tomorrow, when the dust settles, before dealing with the players that got locked out. You do need to give us 24 hrs to respond, and we will always always be fair rather than knee jerk.

Of course, some players wont be happy unless we get a Lamborghini delivered to their house in the morning, but generally, I reckon we score pretty highly on the fairness side. I remember putting on a £20,000 freeroll one time, cause things were that bad on Boss.

Touch wood, last night was the just "DTD run bad online curse" , and party will be stable for rest of Online Day 1's.

Cheers Rob

On Monday night I late regged for the UKPC Mini once the tournaments were back up and running.  I played really badly and didn't make Day 2.

Am I entitled to some sort of compensation for not card racking my way to a monster stack ?

sigh, 4 days and they still haven't paid me back for the 50rebuy and the 100 freezeout that were cancelled. Support terrible obviously. Prizepool for these two tournaments was about $40k alone. Not really very good at all. Makes me sad that all other sites are so bad so I am just driven to playing more of my volume on Stars

PS don't expect DTD people to fix it or anything as it isn't their tournaments.
