Title: PLO Tourney Line Check.
Post by: Karabiner on March 27, 2015, 12:22:43 PM
Early in the tourney 2nd or 3rd hand in so all have ~3k with blinds 10/20.

UTG opens and UTG+2 3-bets to 150.

I have JJT8 ds in MP and peel, all fold to UTG who also peels.

Flop comes Kh Jd 8c

UTG checks, UTG+2 bets 250 and I make it 700.

Afterwards I thought that maybe I should have just flatted here but I'm interested in opinions on the play so far.

I think flatting might be best here. Although you've got middle set, you don't really want this to all go in on the flop. and be up against a warp, and flipping.

I think peeling is okay in this spot also.

I know lol. I was answering his question on weather flatting the flop bet, rather than raising.....just clarifying.

I may just raise my wraps here, calling everything else is great I think because we don't know how wide villains range is, generally speaking an utg+2 3b this early then betting this flop into two people I think there range isn't going to be as nutted as it should be. and raising can fold this out too early, if we call, villain will continue vs us on the turn every time the draw misses? Maybe +EV?

fold pre for me

What now depends on if we have clubs+hearts

I was wondering if anyone would question the cold-call pre.

I had spades and clubs so only one BDF.

Yeah just wondering which suit blockers we had.

Why have we raised? Villains calling range that we beat doesn't exsist, we have a blocker to the hands he has equity with so less reason to protect.

Sorry not trying to come across mean, but for the above reasons i think flop is a mandatory call

Well TBH I'm in a bit of a bad run currently which is why I put the hand up.

This hand in itself was not terribly significant as my raise was called in two spots but when the turn came Ah and UTG potted we both insta-mucked.

The bottom line was that I'd wasted 450 chips down to a trivial raise which I realised straight away was an error especially with that 8 on the flop.

I must say that I did very briefly consider folding after UTG+2 3-bet, worried that UTG might get me in the middle of a raising war so to speak, but Js Jc Ts 8c is a very sexy hand especially deep-stacked like this.

Hmm, just my opinion but I value this hand less and less the deeper I am
