So far we've had some good ones, including most of the Super League from Allan J Starkey, Nottingham Forest 1977-80 from Ryan Brodsky and Aberdeen 1982-85 from Ironside. So if your favourite great team is missing, tell us and we'll add them, plus give you a mention in the credits at the end of the video.

There's only a day or so left to suggest your favourite "Great Team", we'll publish a  new trailer early next week with the suggested teams added, and a credit at the end for everyone who suggested. Get your thinking caps on.

Got a couple of questions about this team event

To me the amount of chips awarded to the final table is unfair compared to say 40th to 49th (55000) its like half the total amount of 1st place (100000). But if you get to the final table you only get 1000 chips extra for each place. There seems to be an unbalance here imo you should get rewarded extra for getting to the ft.

So the table suggests that 40th will get 55000 chips in the daily major, now will this still be awarded if only 100 people enter or will there need to be 400 people to enter to activate the 40th to 49th places? Otherwise half the field are going to get a huge amount of chips compared to the ft % wise.

If this is the case 40th getting 55000 chips with only 100 people entering then i can see a lot of teams qualifying really quickly and the amount of chips being brought to the club is going to be massive. I know they get divided up but its still going to be a lot of chips in play, so i guess the blinds will be quite big at the start of the live event to counter this?

Therefore the UK Team Challenge Live Final will now take place on the weekend of 10th and 11th October 2015 at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham (one week earlier than originally planned)

This date change now seems to clash with the gp tour at old trafford which is 10th 11th october or has this date been changed also?

Yeah that's the issue, the GP Tour leg at Old Trafford was originally booked for 10th & 11th at Old Trafford, confirmed, paid for etc.  Then they realised it was the Grand Final (they realised) so had to bump us as the massive suite we are using for the poker tour is going to be in use.  So the next available date at Old Trafford is 17th and 18th, which clashes with Team Challenge, so we've swapped them round.

Team Challenge Live Final - DTD - 10th and 11th Oct
Grand Prix Poker Tour Old Trafford - 17th and 18th Oct

Which also means we can do cool things with bounty prizes at the Team Challenge for the Grand Prix!

Due to the finishing times of the majors (early morning work) and the fact i am a cheapskate I can only see myself playing the micro and the odd mini on Fridays so if there are any other players who want to join me in a team,  happy in the knowledge we would all aim to play at least 5 micros a week then lets shuffle up and deal - it's a 2 month promotion so getting to the live final should be easily achievable but obviously 'blonde cheapskates' wouldn't be going with a gazillion chips...but it would still be great fun.  :)up

Hey Smurf and Matt, I'd be up for joining in with this.

Like Matt I have the problem that none of my mates play poker (even though I've tried to convert them over the years!)

The times of the shifts I work often include a few evenings per week, should be able to do at least 4 micro's but if I can't make the 5 per week I'm happy to throw in an occasional mini to make it up.

Just remember, we need to earn at least 30,000 chips each in order to play the live event, that's if we can get to the 250,000 mark.

I can easily do 2 of the boosters so that's 10k in the bag for us.  The others will be more difficult.

In addition to the UK Team Challenge Welcome Pack announcement today (see other posts), we've tweaked the Points structure for the online tournaments.  This was done to address several issues raised by you, the players.  Namely - on partypoker software, multiple players get awarded the same finishing position, thus a 200 runner tournament can only have 80 "places" recorded, thus loads of people would be getting the same, high points for not doing very well, so we've adjusted where the Min Points are and the number of places per jump.  Furthermore there was genuine concern from players about players late registering and getting an instant 50k points, which now can't happen.  A couple of players have asked how Re-Entry works, and I can confirm that a players 'best' finishing position will count.


Hope that clears up the issues, only a few days to go to get your team registered to claim the Welcome Pack! Don't delay, do it today.

UK Team Challenge Booster Challenges

Here's a bit more information about the Booster Challenges

1. They are Challenges, not Missions, so you don't need to opt in, you just need to do them.

2. They are reported every 72 hours or thereabouts, so there will usually be a lag between you doing them, and updating the tables

3. Sports Booster Challenge is straightforward - but make sure your bets are settled before 30th Sept! Sports Booster chips will be added this afternoon.

4. Atlantis Booster Challenge is straightforward.

5. Casual Booster Challenge - there are a specific type of cash games in the partypoker lobby with smiley faces next to them, see print screen below. Just noticed five teams with 300,000+ chips already so I imagine there will be some multi million stacks come the end of the competition as well as some stacks just above the 240,000 mark.

This Sunday sees the return of the Super Micro at 7pm, with $5.50 Buy-In and a cool $5,000 Guarantee, we're threatening to make this a permanent fixture in the calendar....if it gets supported

Those players lucky enough to have received $5.50 Tickets in Wednesday's DTD Pokerfest Live Ticket Drop can use them in any Micro...including the Super Micro.

Also - please note that as of Sunday the Mini also moves to 7pm, we've had lots of feedback from players about the finish time of the Mini, so we've listened and as of Sunday it moves to 7pm.

Pretty sure I should have more than 10,000 in booster chips......there's been an update but the booster has not changed.

Until this week I was well behind you all and annoyed with myself for not being able to play more so I don't think we should worry about individual scores :)

They both finish too late for me now so only got one or two days a week to play with work, so a great achievement inside three weeks

Not too worried about the teams seemingly going for a gazillion chips but it would be handy to see an average stack for those qualified (without having to do a ridiculously long sum). 😀

Before the challenge they used to finish about eleven but as the challenge has seen a big increase in players (an obvious success) even starting at seven they go on very late...final tabled in eighth at the weekend and that was one o'clock - up at six with work most days

Important & Rather Brilliant UK News!

Today we are making some exciting changes to the Daily UK Tournaments, and to our DTD, Pokerfest Live and other UK specific satellites.

Please take a moment to read this post carefully...right to the bottom for news of a GREAT Promo!

New Guarantees / Reduced Buy-Ins!

As of today until Sunday 30th Aug 2015 the following changes will take place:

The 7pm Daily UK Major Nano will see the guarantee increase fourfold to $2,000! The buy-in remains at $1.10.  This $2,000 Guarantee includes 80 x $5.50 tickets, so the tournament needs 82 runners to start.  Make sure you register early!

The 7pm Daily UK Major Micro will see the guarantee increase to $5,000 every day, not just on Sundays! The buy-in remains at $5.50.  This $5,000 Guarantee includes 50 x $22 tickets, so the tournament needs 52 runners to start.

The 7pm Daily UK Major Mini will see the guarantee remain at $10,000, but it now has a new lower buy-in of just $22! The $10,000 Guarantee includes 20 x $109 Tickets, so needs 22 runners to start.

Furthermore; the 1pm, 4pm, 10pm and Midnight Minis will also see their buy-in drop to $22, with no decrease in the $1,000 Guarantee.

Other Tournaments

The $1.10 and $5.50 tournaments we run will remain at that buy-in, the $27.50 tournaments will drop to $22, the $120 tournaments drop to $109 and the $550 tournaments drop to $530.

What about my tickets?

There will be a period of time this afternoon where we'll be swapping the tournaments over, and changing your tickets as follows:

Holders of $1.10 DTD Tickets - no changes
Holders of $5.50 DTD Tickets - no changes
Holders of $27.50 DTD Tickets - will receive a $22 DTD Ticket and a $5.50 DTD Ticket
Holders of $120 DTD Tickets - will receive a $109 DTD Ticket and 2 x $5.50 DTD Tickets
Holders of $550 DTD Tickets - will receive a $530 DTD Ticket and a $22 DTD Ticket (so gain $2!)

What about the UK Team Challenge?

There are no changes to points for the UK Team Challenge, the 7pm Mini and 7pm Micro generate Team Chips and the 7pm Nano is still the Booster Challenge.

Who you gonna call?

This process of changing the tournaments and the tickets is starting now and will last a couple of hours, so should be finished by approximately 6pm today.

Would deffo have shallower stacks in the nano and the mini. They go on pretty late and think if u did 25k stacks in both you'd still get plenty of play

Daily UK Majors Announcement!

New structures, new late reg, awesome new WPT promotion for DTD Members!

We've been listening to our community of players and have made several improvements to our Daily UK Majors, and to our other UK & Ireland exclusive tournaments.

This post outlines the major changes. There is also a great promotion for Dusk Till Dawn members!

The 7pm Daily UK Majors:

1. Late Reg being reduced to 12 levels.
2. Clock changed to 12 x 8min levels, followed by 12 x 10min levels with the rest of the levels being 12min.

These two changes will reduce the grind early on and shoud make the tournaments a lot more enjoyable.

After reviewing the performance of the 7pm Nano, Micro and Mini, we are reducing the guarantees to: Nano: $500, Micro: $2500, Mini: $5000. These guarantees will be continually reviewed, and if we are able, we will certainly increase them!

We've also made some good changes to some of the other UK & Ireland specific tournaments.

Our hourly Nanos are now a 3 minute clock, to give players the much requested 'fun & fast tournament' with a $50 Guarantee.

We've changed the schedule of the daytime and evening Micro Turbo and Mini Turbos. So now they run at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 9pm and 11pm. We've also changed the clock to 6 minutes on these.

The guarantees will be $250 on the Micro Turbo and $500 on the Mini Turbo.

Late reg is now being reduced to 12 levels across all of these tournaments. (might take a couple of days for them all to become 12 levels, some are currently 13 or 15)

We firmly believe that these changes will make the tournaments more fun to play. Many players have asked for a better structure and a shorter late reg period, so we have listened, and delivered! Keep the feedback coming.

All changes come into effect over the weekend, the Guarantee changes from Saturday 29th August and the Levels / Late Reg changes along with the new timings happening over Saturday and possibly Sunday.

There is a new BIG daily tournament on the horizon...

We are spreading the word early, but there should very shortly be a new $25,000 GTD, $109 Buy-in Tournaent added to the Daily Schedule. The final bits and pieces are being finalised, but it will be a great tournament for all partypoker players (not just UK&I). This new tournament is due to go live sometime during week commencing 7th September. We'll give you more details when we get them.

WPT Superstars FB Forum Challenge:

hi Tighty are you improving the structures by making the tournaments shorter or longer?  I don't play on party much but if somebody was improving their dailies to finish at 12 or 1 I could be persuaded to start.

The structure should be better because of the variable level clocks, so 12 levels at 8 minutes early on, 12 at 10 minutes mid and the rest at the business end 12 minutes.  This coupled with Late Reg being cut from 15 to 12 levels, should make it an all round better experience, it doesn't mean it will finish any sooner, but will mean those fighting it out for the big prizes get a much better experience.

I checked on the software and it does look like you have made it shorter.  I am not bothered about the rest, so long as I am not up at 3 in the morning fighting for £3.50.  Bed is much more important than a good game to a few of us old farts. Will give it a go on Sunday or maybe next week.

UK Team Challenge - The "What if Bob can't make the Live Final?" Question

A few people are asking the same question regarding "What happens if my team mate cannot attend the live final" This post should (I hope) answer that question.

If a player is eligible to attend (has more than 30k chips) but cannot attend, his teams chips at the live final will still include his contribution, however, he is also still factored into the "division of chips" and the "division of prize money" - So a team of 4, with 400,000 chips, and Bob has contributed 50,000 but cannot make the live final. The 3 players in the live final would play with 100k chips each (400k / 4) and if they cashed, the cash prize would be divided by 4 and paid to each of them. The remaining 100k would simply be removed from play.

If a player is not eligible to attend (has less than 30k chips) then the teams chips stack division does NOT include this player, and the prize pool dvision does not include this player.

New WPT Structure for the 7pm Mini and 7pm Micro

The Grand Prix Poker Tour will use the WPT structure, so we've changed the structure of the 7pm Mini and Micro to match that of the Grand Prix Poker Tour, seems right that the primary route into the Grand Prix Poker Tour features the same structure! So from today the structure is 20,000 Chips, 10 minute levels and 10 levels of Late Reg. The starting stack and the blinds structure are the same as we plan to use in the Grand Prix, so it will be interesting to hear your thoughts about the new structure...once you've played it obviously!

Removal of the 7pm and 8pm Nanos

We've removed the 7pm and 8pm Nanos from the schedule. Oh No! you cry, What about the Nano Booster Challenge?!?. Well, from today any Nano you play qualifies for the Booster Challenge. You'll still only be credited with 1 per tournament (so re-entries don't count as more than 1), but if you pay 6 Nanos in one day, you'll have 6 Nanos towards the Challenge.

34. Pot Size – A player is entitled to ask the dealer to tell them the current pot size (on their action), and the dealer will count the pot.  Any player abusing this privilege will have the right withdrawn for the rest of the tournament.

What is the thinking behind having this rule  for this comp?

There will be a number of first time live players and we want the game to be a friendly game, therefore this rule is in place (as it was for the Las Vegas Team Challenge finals) so that it makes it a little less intimidating for newbies. As all the players taking part are used to seeing the exact pot size online, we use it so the experience is the same live.

UK Team Challenge Update

First, the news: Within the next 24 hours we are making the following changes to the Daily UK tournaments, which include the 7pm Mini and 7pm Micro.

100% Cash Prize pools - we are removing the tickets element, and now paying out 100% cash.
Freezeouts - after very positive player feedback, we are making them all single entry only, no more re-entries. Obviously this impacts on the number of 'entries", but we are going to maintain the current level of Guarantees, whilst we see how the new tournaments perform.
New Structure - they will all now move to the WPT Structure (as the 7pm Mini and Micro have been for a few days), with 20k chips, 10 levels of late reg, 10 min runners.
No More Nanos - we will remove all the Nanos from the lobby...but don't panic! We will announce what replaces them for players to complete their Boosters very shortly, and it will be good news! (meanwhile, you can still play them while they are still in the lobby and still work towards your Nano Booster)

One question players are bound to ask, is what about Grand Prix Golden Chips?

Previously these were only available for winning in the 7pm Micro and 7pm Mini. From today the only place you can win a Grand Prix Golden Chip is in the hourly Grand Prix Golden Chip Satellites ($22). These will be won together with a $109 Grand Prix Seat. And...we'll only be issuing 500 Golden Chips via these satellites before each Leg, so get them secured soon! With the satellite tree for the Grand Prix starting with a $0.00+$0.01 "Freeroll"...every 20 minutes, you can now win your Golden Chip for Free!

Players who have already won Golden Chips in the Mini / Micro, still have those chips, and are equally able to use them to take part, but remember, many of you have spent the $109 Ticket you won with those previous Golden Chips on other things, so you'll still need to buy in.

Just quick note on UK Majors and Dailys in the DTD Tab;

* Last week, I asked Gary Oakes and Nicola Veitch to come up with a good promotion over the next couple of weeks that rewards players that support these MTTs regularly but they came back with an idea I liked in just a couple of days - so today they launched

* This is £5500 spend a week on Tournies that generate us $0.50 and $2 reg fee..this lights up the majority of DTDs weekly online budget up in smoke - so we have adjusted the 7pm GTEs to 200 players in Micro and 150 in Mini as we can't afford to lose money on GTEs and the promotion.

* BUT I have given Gary and Nicola extra budget to put in a decent GTE Mini and Micro at 9pm aswell as the 7pm and I suspect when they add the 9pm we will end up guaranteeing more than before AND running the WPT promo - but this will give you have 4 decent GTE comps per night and we will have a bigger pool of players over 2 time zones - I understand these freezeouts are no fun if you bust the 7pm early so a bigger 9pm makes sense for players that don't need to be finished by midnight for work in morning

I think us cheapskates have done pretty well as a team considering how often we've been able to play. Would be interesting to see a points/buy ins table 

I've been frustrated the last few weeks as it seems I'm working every evening or early morning and I haven't had the chance to do as many mini's/micros as I'd have liked.
With the fields dropping to less than 200 I wanted a shot at these 'easier' points  :(

Player ID Cards:

You’ll find a Player ID card with your chips, it will have your details on it, plus your starting stack, and your Star Player Points on. This ID card MUST be on display with your chips at all times, and MUST be handed to the dealer if you are eliminated.

 

Running Late:

Unless you are already informed of your non-attendance, your chips will be in play until the start of Level 4, then they will be removed from play.  Therefore players have 140 minutes to arrive after the start.  Dead Chips cannot win points.

 

Side Events:

We’ll be running 4 x Grand Prix Poker Tour Dusk Till Dawn Day 1s over the weekend, plus there will be lots of cash games, to suit all levels available.

Dare I say the structure for this was too good? Was all a bit de motivating contemplating a two day slog for a small return of your team mates bust. Maybe split the prize pool 50/50 and have a 30 min clock one day event for the next one?

However some updated key stats following close of:

347 Players from 104 Teams qualified and over 300 players actually turned up, meaning that DTD was throbbing! The atmosphere has been superb all day.

We have 79 players left, from 51 teams

Only 2 teams have all 4 players still in the game, they are Nits&Natter and THS Dingo Stars, with a further 2 teams having 3 players left, namely the Ninja Turtles and Monmouth Fishermen. 18 Teams have 2 players and 29 have only 1 player remaining.

Bust last hand before 1st break, big blind special with 52, flopped 2 pair and got it all in v A5. Ace on the river sent me home

Congrats to my mates Sam, Pete, Paul and Jimmy who won the £12k overall team prize by a whisker - if 9th had finished 7th or 2nd had finished 1st they wouldn't have made it.
