Hi all,

Hope you are all well - Just as a little introduction, I will be running the Grand Prix Tour on behalf of Dusk Till Dawn alongside all your usual DTD crew. Some of you may know me as I have posted/worked in a previous life as UKIPT Jamie so i'm not completely new on the scene :)

To give you a quick update on the tour, we are currently full steam ahead with the logistical elements of the tour and as Rob mentioned in his blog the other day we will be kicking off at Old Trafford October 9th - 11th 2015  featuring a buy-in of £60 + £10 (you can us the $120 online ticket and refunding the exchange rate different to you partypoker account) and £250,000 guaranteed. Yes, that is 4,167 buy-ins but it woudn't be a DTD event without a challenge!

The second stop on the tour will be in London at Stamford Bridge in November and the third stop an online leg on party poker in December.

In addition to the above it is safe to say we will be a stadium near you soon so tell your friends and let's get people back into playing and enjoying massive grassroots poker events, even if they just want to come and have a poke around the stadium and have a pint and watch.

Full tour details and format will be available shortly as well as a full new microsite for the tour and several new launch promotions and announcements.  In the meantime as Tighty mentioned you can now win your Golden Chip via the DTD Micro tournaments from tonight - remember Golden Chips can be used at any Grand Prix Tour event - live or online so qualify now and freeroll yourself the possibility of winning a brand new Porsche....

There will be live Day 1s at each venue - we expect about a 40/60 split in terms of live and online Day 1 participants, similar to the last Grand Prix at DTD.

As with most tournaments held in the UK outside of casinos you can only buy-in using an online account (partypoker). We will have plenty of staff and iPads to help facilitate this so any player with just a debit card will be able to play.

Apologies, i've been neglecting my forum duties :)

Just to clarify ALL Grand Prix Poker Tour events are currently scheduled as 2 day events with no plans to change. They will play to a finish on the Sunday so no need for any holiday days to be used from work.

For licensing reasons all events will be finished by 2am Monday mornin if that helps.

re the Stadium tours.
 Any "extras " going to be planned?....ie stadium tour/allowed on the pitch! etc.
Might be able to encourage a few newbies with a " £60 poker/footy package" so to speak!

If you play event specific Day 1s then your stack/entry would be forfeited and you would NOT receive the min cash.

Players Choice Day 1s on the other hand let you choose which stack you would like to use at ANY GPPT Day 2 in the next 12 months so might be a better option in this regard.

Hi Ripple,

We will have stadium tours at every stadium available for players (Lenton industrial estate for DTD ;) ). Middle of the season so most clubs are a bit precious about their pitches but will try my best - certainly we can get pitch side! Also looking at a number of other activities to help make the events as social as possible.

There aren't any matches happening the weekend we are at the stadiums (hence we are able to hire them) but we will be looking do some promos around the matches in the run up to each event.

It says you can choose your day 2 but if you enter another day 1 after making day 2 your stack will be forfeited.

If I make day 2 and choose to play Dtd when can I play day 1s again to try and make SB, OT etc?

Sorry, this needs clarifying as there are two types on Grand Prix Day Ones:

Player's Choice Day 1s - You can qualify for up as many Day'2 s over the course of the tour without any stack being forfeited and choose which stack you would like to play where.

Indeed, you should try and qualify for all 12 Day 2's and take part in our WPT promo:

Event Specific Day 1s (which happen live and online the week before the event and always have the name of the stop in their name) - If you qualify for Day 2 and decide to play another event specific Day 1 for THAT event only then your stack will be forfeited.

To confirm, we do not currently have any Live Day 1s scheduled for the Friday. Just the two online Day 1s.

To bore you with the details, our external operating license that allows us to run poker in non-casino venues has strict time restrictions. We are trying to replicate our schedule from the stadium events at the Dusk Till Dawn leg to ensure events are finished within the operating hours specified.

As ever, if there is significant feedback for live Friday Day 1s we will look to review this.

Golden Chips have all gone for the Nottingham leg. If you don't have a golden chip already on your account you did not win a Golden Chip Grand Prix seat.

500 new Golden Chips will be available online again to be won online at partypoker for the Stamford Bridge leg from October 18th.

No Grand Prix tickets are exchangeable for cash as we have 12 legs in the next year so plenty of opportunities to use it :)

Just to clarify this point further - they can be used in Players Choice as long as they are used by this Saturday (17th October) in players choice.

Essentially you must use your ticket that you win this week by the end of Saturday whether that be Dusk Till Dawn Day 1s or Players Choice which enables to use your Day 2 stack elsewhere. Next Players Choice is Saturday @ 8pm.

i had to buy in for my day 1 via the party site, there is no option to pay cash at DTD

there were laptops, tablets at the club to do it, but if you dont have the funds in there before you go, try and remember your password and username to avoid having to reset everything (like i had to)

also, although it is advertised as £60+10, i actually had to deposit £75 to get enough dollars to buy into the tournament

7pm Live Day 1s have a 20 minute clock - still gives you plenty of play in our opinion and finishes up at a reasonable 1:30am

Day 1s with a 30 minute clock last 10hr 20min and not realistic for an evening leg.

Thanks for pointing this out - will get it amended on the website.

We increased the blind levels from 15 min to 20 min to give players a better experience but missed updating it in a couple of spots. All live Day 1s are now 20 minute or 30 minute clocks.

We are reviewing this as unfortunately the exchange rate has shifted against us and it is currently £71.15 to buy-in (correct on 13th October).

I've finally managed to register for Friday's noon flight after discovering that I was previously attempting to sign up for the Friday noon "late-entry" flight whatever that is but I must have been too early.

Let's just say that I'm easily confused by new-fangled stuff but will now be making my customary donation so come early to avoid disappointment.

I can be a bit slow at times so bear with me.

If I use a $109 day 1 ticket from whatever source and manage to get a decent stack a la Skalie last night then there is no point playing any further $109 Dusk till Dawn or Players Choice satellites if I cannot use it for the players choice day 1 on Saturday 17 October and forfeiting current stack makes no sense.  Please could you confirm - I had taken it from the satellite description that the ticket could be used for any future players choice day 1.

The $109 Dusk till Dawn or Players Choice satellite tickets can be used for the players choice UP to that tournament. This include the players choice this Saturday 17th October as technically you could still use this for DTD Day 2 (or of course another leg if you wish). This is a loop hole that allows you to win extra tickets this week and potentially use them for other legs if you have already made Day 2. Hope that makes sense.

We will be adding another players choice to this Saturday's online schedule to help out with this option even further.

Must have been close.  Was 90 runners when i joined it 10 minutes before kick off.

Yeah I saw it at 95ish a couple of minutes before so can't have been far away.

It auto-seats players with 3 minutes remaining - if it doesn't hit the minimum numbers it cancels the tournament at that point.

Minimum tournament numbers is set to one more than than the number of seats guaranteed but it cannot start with less as it auto-pays out a seat to everyone.

Just arrived to play the 7pm flight, first time I've seen the car park completely full.

We have a number of unused tickets for Grand Prix Dusk Till Dawn Nottingham in players accounts which expire tonight.

If you have an 'Entry to Grand Prix' Ticket in your account it will expire tonight unless you have already made Day 2 of GPPT Nottingham.

You have a couple of last chance options. Play the 7pm Live Day 1 at Dusk Till Dawn or play in the Player's Choice online at partypoker at 7pm & 9pm. If you progress from the Player's Choice into Day 2 you can choose any venue on the Grand Prix Poker Tour to utilise your Day 2 stack, including Dusk Till Dawn tomorrow.

I've just played the 7pm leg, just seen it was a "Players Choice" after reading here - I want to play tomorrow - do I have to state my preference anywhere or is it automatically entered tomorrow?

I assume you could only choose a different venue through this leg if you had already made a day 2?

How can you gtd to do both the above?   Pay 10% of total entries and pay all day 2 players?  What if more than 10% of total entries make day 2?  What happens?

I think they probably should have said roughly 10% paid because I'm sure they'll pay the (up to) 15% who cash. The small 1st place prize in comparison to the prizepool indicates this intention, I reckon.

I'm up there at the moment and 29 got through from the 225 starters in the 4pm live D1.

Going to be a lot of no shows i would imagine tomorrow from shorties who were just hanging on to reach day 2 with tiny sub 10 big stacks for the last 2 or 3 levels when they would normally be gambling hard without the safety net of a gtd cash on day 2.  Would be amazed if any of these bothered to turn up tomorrow given how shallow the GP pay outs are usually.  Even the big stacks on my table were time banking which was very odd.  Weird dynamic on my table online last few levels.  There is virtually zero incentive to travel an hour+ to play sub 10 bigs.  £210 locked up anyway and say 500 punters go back you will probably have to finish 100th to get £300 if the payouts are the same as previous GP's.

Min cash AFAIK is £210. £140 cash and a $109 ticket.

Assume everyone has to do this who played the online players choice day 1s today?  You won't automatically be put into tomorrow's day 2?  I made day 2 tonight online with 6 bigs so i won't be attending tomorrow at the club for day 2 so in order to receive the £210 pay out i need to confirm i want my day 2 to be tomorrow via email as above?  The stack will blind out and my account will get a $109 ticket added and £140 cash i assume?  

10% make Day 2 on average. You are correct though that it should perhaps just state that everyone making Day 2 receives a min cash although the mathematics of the tournament ensure that this will almost always be 10 - 12% of the field.

Yes you will need to contact us to be entered in to Day 2. Everyone will receive an email in the morning when we get this info from partypoker. Alternatively just email rachel@dtdpoker.com and she will put you in Day 2. You will receive the min cash even if you don't show up. Usually takes 72 hours to be credited to your account.

To be fair to DTD they have been continually saying the sat tokens expired for a while now. Wasn't as if they just mentioned it last night only.

It was stated in the tournament lobby that the tokens expired yesterday unless you made Day 2 for Nottingham in which case we would roll them over.

We emailed everyone who had an unused token twice and having posted this numerous times on social media as well as announcing it in the club.

Will need to start checking my emails, I do tend to delete a lot without reading them, looks like it's cost me a fair bit of money.
It is what it is...time for a break I think.

Congratulations to Ben Preece who took down the first leg of the Grand Prix Poker Tour taking home £35,000 from his £70 buy-in.

Paul Romain finished in second place for £28,100. Paul held a Golden Chip for qualifying online and stood to win an bonus £35,000 if he won the event making the final hand a pretty sick £42k flip.

i have never had a partypoker account or dtd account.

i fancy playing this grand prix at stamford bridge, gonna play a satellite or 2. if no luck i will play online day one.

my question is, what do i need to do to get a golden chip? do i need facebook or twitter? i have neither but could start one up.

i regged for the 7 pm $22 satellite with 20 seats gtd, needed minimum21 runners, only got 11 so was cancelled.

the 6pm  $22 satellite with 20 seats gtd got 66 runners.

not moaning or having a pop at all. i just thought that a 7pm would normally get more than a 6pm, or at least a similar number.

ended up playing a normal $22 freezeout rather than a satellite, lasted 2 hands aa<ak on a67.

We only have one 20 seater GPPT satellite per night at it is at 8pm and definitely ran.

Regarding minimum runners in general - tournaments cannot start with less people than seats awarded otherwise they would instantly pay out, just one of those things i'm afraid if players do not register in time.

Our photographer for these events is incredible. Although this posting has offended my initial iPhone taken image.

I think it's worth pointing out that Vincent bagged a whopping £5k bonus just for reaching the FT with his Golden Chip.

It was great to play this tournament and, apart from the mis-information broadcast about the Level of the first break, was an enjoyable day. Looks like the structure was just about spot on to finish on time too.

It would be good if some arrangement could be made to have some food available at future events. Went for a sandwich at the end of Level 12 of the 3pm game on Saturday and the food bar was closed for the night. I was already quite hungry with six more levels still to play. Hank Marvin before we finished.

This online leg on 20th December.  I have played a player's choice day 1 already and got sub 10 bigs to carry forward to a day 2 of my choice in the future.  Can i play this day 2 online on December 20 with this sub 10 big stack i have acquired?  I don't really want to have to travel to play a day 2 with a sub 10 big stack and incur exs.  Is this what this online leg is for or is it just a big online day 1 and you will have to travel to a live location to play day 2? 

no its an online leg in its own right, so my understanding (GPPT Jamie can post if i am wrong) is that you can use a players choice day 1 stack for this

Awesome that saves me just sacking off the day 2 stack and not bothering to turn up to a day 2 and just blinding away because it wasn't worth the exs.

Yeah the Online ones (Dec15, March16, June, October) are solely played out online but you have to just register for the Online leg using your $109 ticket. Party are looking to change their software to allow people to bring a Day2 stack to the Online leg, but this won't be implemented until next year. So any stacks you've taken through already need to be used on a Live leg.

How many have you qualified for already arbboy? Personally, I plan to qualify lots of micro stacks and blind them off at the Live ones I didn't want to travel to just because of the Leaderboard promotion. I think if you qualify for every live leg you will be a shoe-in for the top 30 and bag a £2200 WPT ticket for 'free'. Perhaps even if you have already qualified for either Nottingham or Stamford Bridge (and then qualify for the rest) you might still get into the top 30...

I only have one day 2 stack.  So from what you say i won't be able to use this day 2 stack for an online day 2 because there is no such thing.  The online legs are just all done in one go from buy in to finish with no break?  Correct?

We are hoping that the ability for multi-flighted online tournaments is developed in time for March and we will be able to offer this option for the Online legs. For now we are restricted by the software so the December Online Grand Prix is just a 1 day tournament......all be it with a $250,000 guarantee for $109 :)

Just had a cold call from party poker regarding the GP online this weekend.  Is this going to be standard 'marketing' now?  Seems a bit OTT to me.  Cold calling me is fine for me (just annoying) but to the vast majority of dtd's client base i would imagine they wouldn't be too happy being cold called bang in the middle of the day on a work day on their mobile.

What is the estimated finishing time for this?  Is it a one day event?

Yes its a one evening event

est finish 2am though it of course depends on tightness of play.

but it starts at 5pm so it finishes at some sort of reasonable hour for monday morning workers

A great tournament. I worry that a bunch of people won't be able to find it due to the tab system in the party poker client, but I hope the guarantee is met. I will be playing and I have told other people who aren't British/DTD/Party regs to play.

I have a slight annoyance with the satties. I won a $22 token on Thursday. I had planned to use it for the 3pm megasat today but it seems to have already expired and apparently can only have been used on the 50 seat guarantee ones and not the 100s which makes no sense. Technically my fault I suppose for not reading exactly what the ticket is for. I'd like to get that ticket back to be used for future Grand Prix satties, is there someone I can ask to do that? Asking here as if I email Party support it will take several days for them to reply.

the satellites are direct feeds to ensure the next leg runs, to enable us to feed them we have to set up a different ticket per satellite and therefore players wouldn’t be able to unreg and use it for another sat

I don't have a photo driving licence, and my passport has expired.
That took some getting around when I needed proof of ID for a DBS Check recently, but I really don't want to carry the full set that was required for that.

Dtd card is ok if your ID is on file. If not it's driving licence photo I'd, passport or citizens card. Id needed for all players to play.

If you are coming to Old Trafford this weekend

If you are coming to Old Trafford this weekend, you will obviously be looking forward to the Grand Prix Poker Tour Old Trafford leg guaranteed with a £250,000 prize pool, with two day Ones on Saturday, playing to a finish on Sunday.

As well as the Main event there are a range of activities from the moment the doors at the famous stadium at 11am on Saturday morning. The party poker lounge will offer casual games such as pool and table football as well as an area for both players and their friends to relax over the weekend.

At 12pm Day 2 of the GPPT High Roller begins in the tournament area in the presence of Simon Trumper whilst from midday legendary poker personality Marty Wilson will be conducting “Free Flip N Gos”, giving players a 1 in 9 chance to win a seat to a future GPPT leg in a single hand.

At 12.40pm, hosted by Sky Sports’ Simon Lazenby, Old Trafford legends David May and Norman Whiteside will be present for a Legends Q and A. Look out for posts on the Grand Prix Poker Tour and party poker Facebook accounts where you will get the opportunity to ask David and Norman questions. Simon will ask the best ones!

At 1pm the first of the GPPT Day Ones begins and that is open for registration until 5.40pm. At 6pm the second GPPT Day One begins, open for registrations until 9pm. At 1am the party poker lounge closes for the night.

For those players who make it through day One on Saturday, they will join the players already qualified for Sunday’s day two from online and 235 casino Day ones, as the excitement really starts. Play begins at 11am. Everyone who makes it to day two of the main event is guaranteed to cash.

On Sunday Marty Wilson will be running speed pool tournaments ahead of the side events that afternoon, turbo tournaments which start at 12pm and 4pm

this is because the gaming licence granted for old trafford finishes nightly at 2am

Just had a wholly unsatisfying experience whilst attempting to play tonight. I played the online leg, and when I bust wished to re-enter. I had the holding tank for the live leg tomorrow open to see if any of my friends were playing tomorrow and when I went to re-enter the online leg accidentally clicked the live one.

I got in touch with live support and they basically told me there was nothing there could do. I asked if they could supply me a token to re-enter the online leg and I would forfeit the live entry. They point blank refused and said there was nothing they could do. I know it's only $109 but this has made my blood boil. It seems they have a situation that the software does not allow them to fix but with a little common sense it could easily be resolved and leave me a happy customer playing a fantastic tournament with an opportunity to play at my team's ground on Sunday.

Instead of that, I am angry, frustrated and feel ripped off. Congratulations Party and DTD, you have my entry that I cannot play because of an honest mistake. It will be the last entry Party get off me as I have insta-withdrew my funds and they will no longer be receiving any of my custom.

Apologies for the rant, but needed to get that off my chest.

Brilliant tournament, DTD et al, impeccably organised. Love the payout structure (even though I personally would prefer not to have a seat included, I get why they do it, it does suit a lot of players and I don't begrudge DTD/Party the reasons for doing it).

Great event for the casual punters.  Impossible to organise an event better in a non casion location with pay outs into account, use cash for side events from your main event cash just ticking a box all on one form.  Lasted past the min cash level going back with sub 10 bigs.  Wasn't going to bother as the pay jumps barely make it worthwhile the petrol but it was a good friendly table, dealers good and a great location.  Got an extra £70 to cover the diesel.

Great idea to give punters a day out at a big football ground on top of the poker experience.

Got to agree it was a fun tournament. Just got back to Sheffield.

Great to encourage players into tournaments at bottom end of ladder.

A quick note, if I may, to bow gracefully to the majesty of Mad Marty. He spent the entire weekend on his feet, organising freerolls, killer pool comps, card games and just about anything else he could. He had such immeasurable, boundless energy throughout the entire time he was there, he put us codgery pokersaurs completely to shame. He did the whole thing with a smile and a wit that seemed inexhaustible, despite most of the time having to organise a dozen poker players to do something (which is one up from herding cats on the difficulty scale).

When I left on Sunday afternoon, he was still on his feet, hustling at the table against Rob.

The man is - and no lesser word can surely do - simply a legend.

Wow real shame that there's no more Golden Chips available to win...it's not like Rob even took any big hits on them!

reviewing thousands of live chats/player contacts over the old trafford leg, it became clear that the format was was too complicated for many of the players new to poker.

the aim here is to simplify the format and do a satellites to win a $109 day 1 seat and then live/online day ones without all the confusing jargon/types of satellite/types of ticket that caused so many questions

Agree with the complicated thing.

I remember back when i was 24/7 involved in poker i knew everything going on everywhere and people always used to ask questions and id be like hmm its obvious why are they asking this.

Now ive been out the game for around 2 years whenever i think ahh i want to play this weekend i find the choice and type of competitions sometimes awfully confusing.

i logged in to Party this afternoon to discover that I was already sat in a $5.50 tournament having converted in a cent-roll last night.
Lucky I was there, and even luckier to convert, which once again got me automatically registered into the $22 step. I unregistered and trust that that means I still have a $22 ticket. But if I hadn't logged in at the right time I guess I would have just lost that $5.50 ticket?

The satellites automatically feed into the next satellite at the higher level (i assume you won the last cent-roll of last night)

I posted that on here

You can unregister after winning a level, and register for a time that suits you better but yes if you hadn't de-regged you would have been blinded out

So worth remembering.(obviously you now need to play your $22 as once the newcastle sats stop that lapses too)

What's stack/bb level for buying in start of Day 2 of the high roller plz ?

i believe it is level 9, 500-1000, 50,000 stack

on the structure tab on www.gpptpoker you can filter to see the HR structure

i will double check this now and post if my recollection is incorrect

Yeah I saw the structure sheet, looks like Day 1 is 18 levels right ?

Level 19 is 3/6k, it doesn't mention anything about buying in Day 2 or blinds being rolled back, that I can see.

Day one is 8 levels

This is getting way too complicated and confusing. There is no indication in the lobby that these are time limited.

I saw these elsewhere, might be helpful for people contemplating playing Newcastle

Some FAQs that come up regularly:

- Structure. For the GPPT Main, all 6pm Live Day 1s have a 20 minute clock. All 1pm Live Day 1s have a 30 minute clock.
Day 2 has a 30 minute clock throughout. Blind are rolled back two levels at the start of Day 2 to give you a little more play if you are travelling with shortish stack etc. All Day 1s have a 20k starting stack.

- Highest Stack through. You can play multiple Day 1s even if you have already qualified for Day 2. If you make it through again then your highest stack only will be entered into Day 2. This is not an accumulator event nor will any existing stack be made forfeit if you play another Day 1.

- All players who make Day 2 are in the money and will receive a min cash.

- All buy-ins for the GPPT Main are processed via partypoker so everyone will require a partypoker account. This is because we are unable to handle cash at St James' Park.

We WILL be able to accept cash at Aspers Day 1s and credit your account. This option will not be available on the 20th February at SJP.

- Please ensure you bring valid photo ID to access the poker room at St James' Park

Newcastle and England legend Rob Lee will be at St James' Park on Saturday, playing and answering your questions.

In a 23 year professional career Rob played over 300 games for Newcastle United, scoring over 40 goals and played over 20 times for England. During his time with Newcastle he was managed by Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Ruud Gullit and Sir Bobby Robson.

Folklore has it that he moved to Newcastle from Charlton after Kevin Keegan told him that Newcastle upon Tyne was closer to London than Middlesbrough, the other club interested in signing him

Rob will be playing the Grand Prix Poker Tour at St James' Park on Satuday and beforehand there will be a Q and A with him. We are looking for questions from you the players for Rob. We'll compile the best and ask him them live before play starts. It will be filmed to watch afterwards.
