Title: Selling for the tougher WCOOP events
Post by: lucky_scrote on August 12, 2015, 07:45:19 PM
Hello blonde,

I'd like to sell 50% in a few of the tougher tournaments in WCOOP where my edge isn't as high as the others. The main reason for this is because I'm backed am not being put in for 100% of the buyin of these (Just 50% on stake).

I will be selling at no mark-up since I think that is completely fair.

Year to date:

Tourneys I am selling in:

  • Tuesday 8th Super Tuesday $1050
  • Thursday 10th Thursday Thrill $1050
  • Friday 11th 6max "3 stack" $700
  • Tuesday 15th Super Tuesday $1050
  • Tuesday 22nd Super Tuesday $2050
  • Thursday 24th Ultra deep $530
  • Thursday 24th Thursday Thrill $2100

Total buyins:  $8580
Mark-up: 1.002 (For roundness because I'm lazy)
Selling: 50%

I am going to restrict selling at 10% per person since it's fun to give more than just 1 person a chance at this.

10%: $860
5%: $430
2.5%: $215 (Just like playing the Sunday million :D)
1%: $86

For easier reading I have made a spreadsheet that I will update with cashes, notes and people that have bought %'s and paid.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12HbMTTgFJ9NGaAActerhjg_fvco5t10KWsQnzOHdKV0

SOLD:

10% Myself
2.5% Doobs

Will take 2.5% as I can't play the Sunday million or any of these anymore.

Cheers and gl

I been staking Dan for short time now but really impressed. He has an older school style of playing and a very good instinct where he knows when people are fucking with him and has good predatory skills that allow him to gain a lot of chips and run up stacks around bubbles/final tables meaning a very good chance of big score.

We have 100% of all tournaments lower than these and in these are very happy having 50%

This is a very good buy imo.

Ok sweet, no problem with that, perfectly good rule especially with forum sweats. You don't mention when you need payment by, but I'll be about all through wcoop anyway so it shouldnt be an issue.

Last 1% was taken offline I'm afraid.

I'm on holiday until Sept 1st so once I'm back I'll start asking for transfers. If you want to send now that is fine.

Until then I'll be spending your money in Rhodes. X

It's because I've not migrated to a new client or something. I am guessing it's because I've not logged in from the UK for a long time.

Trying to sort it, you should be able to send funds soon.

How I'm preparing for WCOOP

I'm taking WCOOP deadly serious this year. I am taking a few steps to ensure that I am in the best frame of mind for the whole series. In case you missed my articles on pokernews, I also opened up about my depression and how I managed to get on top of it over the past year.

Diet

Gulp. For the first time in my life I'm going on a diet in September. My ideal weight is 70kg (11 stone) and barely deviated between the ages of 21 and 26. I'm planning on a few less red meats and going to really increase fruit and veg in the diet. White bread and potatoes will be avoided. To be fair, my diet isn't dreadful, it's fairly balanced but it's a start.

I've also purchased a mini fridge so I can snack on fruit and drink plenty of water.

Alcohol

September is an alcohol free month. I have an exclusion period however :D. In the middle of WCOOP I have a stag do in Hamburg.

Exercise

I'm going to run most days. Hopefully 4 times a day is ideal working up to 5km from 2km. I used to run a couple of times a week, but when I started medication for depression it absolutely kicked my arse and after 200m I was wheezing. Time to knock that excuse on the head and dust the running shoes off.

Study and planning schedules

I'm part of a hard working schedule that puts a lot of time into studying and preparation for sessions.

Back on the grind tonight so I won't be missing any of this package.

Everything great with my family and this diet/no alcohol is putting me in the best mood since I can remember.

For anyone that hasn't sent money in the next couple of hours (I've not been able to check) will not be a part of this package and I will buy it myself.

Two hours in and I'm just below starting stack. I've only been involved in two large pots which weren't terribly interesting.

Table is pretty terrible. 7 good regs including Toby, a fish and a nit.

I didn't update because on the very first hand I played what I would call the worst have I have played this year or even this decade. It sapped my morale so I dropped tables to focus on the $1k.

I managed to build a little but the cooler to finish sealed the deal.

Been a messy WCOOP so far, but saved my arse last Sunday with a 3rd in the $200 for $14k.

No problem, I didn't bother chasing as others had reserved and I was busy right before WCOOP. I know you're good for it but I needed the money in my account since I am backed and they run a tight ship on funds being in the right place.

Massively gutted but going to skip this day. The field looks dreadful and even though I feel pretty good about my game right now I am just going to dodge it.

I will 100% play the 2k on Thursday as it's PKO which is less variance and usually attracts a lot more punters.

I was gagging to play it, honestly. I was feeling on top of my game but deep down inside I knew it was a poor investment. I honestly doubt I'd have any edge at all in a field of so many good regs and elites.

Getting constantly moved which is a bit frustrating since every table I've had has been fantastic. The one I'm sat on now doesn't look amazing.

On 87k but not been involved in any pots for a while.

Busted.

Lost half my stack where I iso'd a 3bb jam with A7s and had to call off another 11 more bb or so which left me with 14bb.

Few hands later UTG+1 with KJs and jammed running into TT and QQ.

4 hours in and I'm on 9k (half average). Haven't had any great spots at all and being short in a PKO means you just gotta have it.

I do have a 2k and 6k stack at my table which is never a bad thing.
