Patrick Bamford to Boro on loan. Im convinced of it.

It will need a monster bid to get Ighalo.  £30 million.

Other than constant speculation about that, I don't expect to see Watford up to much unless a bargain presents itself which doesn't tend to happen this time of year.

Worried Alan Judge will get offers from the Prem. Outstanding for us the last three years and definitely Prem quality.

Leicester would like Demari Gray, who they tried to get in the summer and now has a £3.25m release clause in his contract. Have heard Judge's name in dispatches too. He was scouted about 18 months ago when we were int ehc hampionship

Really like judge as a player not sure he is premiership level mind but you never know.

Seen gray four times been awful in three brilliant in one. For that price it is no risk strikes me as a player who needs to make the most of his pace whilst he still has it a lot to develop there.

I have never seen the lad play, any info on him?

He's brilliant. Proper atracking midfielder. Small, quick feet, skillful, not afraid to beat a man and loves a shot. Occasionally his end product let's him down but most defences seem to struggle to deal with him.

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel there is at least some animosity towards him at St Andrews for negotiating a very cheap buy out clause in his contract. Also think that Rowett might want to try the players he has got with mind for developing them for next season now Birmingham are (probably) safe.

Wish Gray all the best, how was he on his debut? I didn't see the game.

think he'll be put on a weights programme to strengthen him up a bit.

Levy doing what Levy does about Andros Townsend so Watford now sniffling around Montero.  I think Horsey was a huge fan but he seems to have lost his way this season.  Same for most Swans players I guess.

Liked him when we beat them even though he was half fit.  Ripped ivanovic a new one on opening day.  Would love him on board.

He has always been hot and cold even for the national side.

You have to keep feeding him the ball, should be a much better player for a counter attacking side than one that keeps the ball (not that Swansea have as much of late).

Nordin Amrabat anyone?  Tunisian who plays for Malaga.  Looks close to joining Watford for £6 million.

Don't know much about him, but presumably this signals the end of our interest in Andros Townsend.

Still hoping we'll go for Montero as well though.

i think ramirez is a wonderful player just wasnt able to keep a place in the side due to injury and fitness but when he did play he showed skills
you should get him dirt cheap too with just 6 months left on contract and koeman just wanting him off wage bill

Looks like an excellent signing on the face of it. Proven premier league goal scorer for £4 million. Just need to keep him fit.

Will almost certainly be the highest paid player at the club.

According to local press Boro now looking to bring in McCormack for 10m, Matt Philips for about 6-8 and Gaston Ramirez as well.

Looks

like he is totally revamping our front line, and Ramirez and Phillips are good enough for the premier league too IMO.

Exciting times!

Hopefully this means we go for Montero.

AMEOBI OFFER IN VAIN

Shola Ameobi has offered to play for Bolton for free until the end of the season, but the Championship club cannot take the striker up on the offer, according to the Bolton News.

Bolton are under transfer embargo, meaning they cannot sign any contracts registered with the Football League.

Ameobi's contract expire at the weekend, having scored in Bolton's 3-1 win over MK Dons.

I'd be surprised if we let him go. He's just getting fit, having been out for months. Eriksen is starting to find form but we are still without NJie and the Europa League starts again soon. He's very much part of our plans.

with most jan spending being by clubs in the bottom half, you'd think it was seen as important to stay up this year more than any other with the new tv deal guaranteeing £120m to 20th next year

£24m is crazy money for Berahino, so overrated imo. What did Charlie Austin go for in the end, £4m? I know it's based in many factors such as age, contract length etc but Jesus Christ... Agree with this.
Austin was £4m coz he's out of contract in 6 months. He probably got at least £10m signing on fee. Either that or his wages are astronomical. And the dodgy knees has definitely put clubs off.
Remy is another crock. Pool signed him, then did a medical on him and ran a mile. Chelsea then signed him and he's injured half the time.
Saido could well look a snip in a couple of years when the TV money kicks in and good players are routinely going for £50m.

Darragh said a few weeks ago that we have a future star pretty much sorted from L2. "Player only ever wanted to join us".

These boys look at Posh as a stepping stone to bigger things now. Can't knock what Darragh does, we're getting some real quality coming in these days.

Sell Conor, pick up Coulthirst and Nichols. Amazing business.

Rhodes about to be confirmed, after he told his agents to drop their demands for bonus' that would have seen his deal be worth 30 million over 4 years!

Also signing some Belgian kid, De Laet on loan on Leicester (maybe) and a Scottish lid which would take us to 6 signings for the month!

I can't understand our policy in January. The chairman said we would spend if we are around the play-offs come January, all we got was Hooper and a couple of loan signings. There is no guarantee we will be better off this time next season, so why not spend the money now. As I see it, we will make the play-offs, but would not be able to beat the likes of Burnley, Derby or Hull as they just have too much quality.

Disappointing and may well end up costing us.

Worst transfer window in last 5 years?

Depends doesnt it, as a Boro fan, we signed 3 players on deadline day, 5/6 overall and got in the best goalscorer in the football league since 2012. I really enjoyed it!

Ha, of course. I meant in terms of the premier league.

I think these figures are pretty questionable FWIW but it was only 5 years ago I got excited by signing Joel Garner for £200k on deadline day.
