Title: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: theprawnidentity on February 24, 2016, 07:03:20 PM I had a spot yesterday that's both sort of interesting and not at the same time. Playing a 1/2 game on Sky, I don't know anything about villain but suspect they're a fish as they're not playing a full stack.
We m/r button to £4 with Ahrt Ac Villain playing £137 to start calls from BB Flop Aspades 7h 7c Check Check (Fairly obvious I would have thought) Turn 7d Check Check (Would usually bet most turns to try and start building a pot but this feels like an odd one as theres still not really much out there to get any sort of value from) River Tc Villain bets £4.50 (into £9), we raise to £15.50 they jam £135. Thoughts on all streets, particularly river appreciated? Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: lucky_scrote on February 25, 2016, 01:28:57 AM I would bet turn in the hope he will call with K high. You will only get one street of value from this most of the time so may as well bet the turn, if he rivers a boat you might get lucky and get two streets.
Obviously there is no river decision here, cry yourself to sleep and muck it. Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: dakky on March 06, 2016, 12:09:23 PM bet flop
Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: rfgqqabc on March 06, 2016, 12:15:31 PM Not folding river as I think he bets bigger with quads and we are underrepped.
I would always check the flop. Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Surely the reason villian doesn't bet bigger is because we are under-repped?? Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Surely the reason villian doesn't bet bigger is because we are under-repped?? If I have quads vs an inelastic calling range (I.e a calling range of ax+) then it is non sensical to bet a small size vs an opponent with no perceived bluffing range. We are better off betting large with everything, and I feel like this is a concept that is instinctual rather than something that is learnt. It looks really dumb to call the river looking back. Hard to fold tho. Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: cambridgealex on March 06, 2016, 06:32:47 PM Not folding river as I think he bets bigger with quads and we are underrepped. Hard to fold tho. I think guy not playing a full stack is not thinking like this. He's thinking "i'll try and milk him for a little bet". Then he gets raised and he's like whoop "he has the ace", gets greedy and shoves. Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: PathFinder on March 06, 2016, 06:48:07 PM Is there a small chance villian can have 1010? Would play similar to quads. Obviously pre flop would be a little nitty for 10s but not completely unreasonable
Title: Re: AA on A77 flop... River decision???? Post by: shipitgood on March 13, 2016, 11:15:49 AM The massive over bet jam On sky really looks like quads, always the nuts when this happens! A x or 1010 would be played differently by villian
