I don't have a wide enough lexicon to accurately describe the last three days at the UKPC at DTD, so I'll simply use 'Awesome'. To turn £16 into a 5th place, 40k return is everything a rec like me dreams of. Even the Wife is smiling at me again and the kids have chipped for about 1k's worth of Apple products each(9 and 5 yrs old). I have read all the comments of support on the various threads here and I'd like to thank everyone for that. Even Lord Tightend of Leicester shook my hand after(tx for the updates, even my Dad was following them on blonde). It was also nice to meet Tal,Doobs,Rastafish and Joesman there.(tx Neil for the words of advice and support). The event was,for me, the absolute nuts in terms of structure,etc and I'll definitely be trying to sat into the next one. I learnt a lot from playing this and it can only have made me a better player(correctly counting your stack size is one,thought I only had 10bb's at one point till it was pointed out the stacks were 2mill each not one,D'oh!!!). I know my luck ran out on the final table in a few key hands(I also played one very badly) but I know I had my fair share the other way and wasn't disappointed when I bust. In fact I was happy cos I'd just made 40 bags. Once again I'd like to thank everyone for their support and hopefully I'll see you at the next one. regards, Mohican. Such a lovely Post, the recreational dream comes true. Thanks for the support and wishes people. Just read through the whole thread now and it's nice know people are sending the positives vibes. (Please send more when I'm AI with KK��). If you don't know, I qualified for £16 so my ROI on this is massive. The whole tourney,trip,experience was superb and I'll deffo be trying to satellite into the next one. As for being crestfallen, it was more a combination of little sleep, long days and mental overload finally being over. It was so intense at times that I even miscounted my stack(thought my 2 milly stacks were 1 milly). More of a relief and a quick chat with Simon Allen(who's appearance later on in matters to rail was a boost) over a brew in the reverted me back to my normal jovial self. As for the money, plans are afoot for new bathroom,stair and landing carpet, new heating install, garden work, garage roof,stuff for the kids and couple of new tattoos. Any left may end up being punted over counter at my local Yamaha dealers. Once again, thanks for the support, it means a lot. Hopefully it'll inspire someone else to make the most of their shot at a big pay day. Regards,Mohican. I was kind of hating live hold em on day 1, but was gradually beginning to enjoy it again. Lots of nice people playing the event made it a bit bearable after suffering a couple of grumpy sods early. I will have to try and make it again next time but getting time off from work/family always an issue. Hope there is another UKPC at DTD and hope whatever the issue is with the cameras can be resolved..
